41  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: February 11, 2014, 05:24:40 PM
I slowly start to believe that this is the stalemate we'll be in for months to come, if not forever.
Some might argue that we actually have been for some time already.

So maybe someone can explain me this. If i check the mtgox orderbook on bitcoinity it seems there isn't much left. Only 607 BTC in sell orders and even less in buy orders. Is that right? They still have some volume so that's just BTC vs USD going around in circles it seems. And Gox taking a fee every trade...

EDIT: Never mind, the bitcoinity charts on the blockchain website don't show the orderbook. On bitcoinity website it shows the lot.

And on another note, has someone had SEPA withdrawals processed since friday? Gox claims that is still working. Would be nice to see some proof of that in this thread.

Baaaaaawwwwwww you were hoping for an investment which is risk-free and you did not get it, cry some moar yank.

Care to join some other get-rich-quick schemes?

How 'bout the person that got some cheap btc on btc-e today. Went down to $102 for a minute. Not sure how big the orderbook on btc-e is (or was) but it must have been a lot of coins!

My theory :

MTGox doesn't have enough BTC to do all the BTC withdraw that were asked.
They blocked the BTC withdraw for that reason and will keep them blocked until the BTC/$ price goes down enough so they can buy back the BTC they need.
Once they have the BTC needed, they will allow the BTC withdraw again.

Or they only now found out that someone was actually abusing this bug that THEY didn't care to fix and have transfered more btc then they should have.

I really don't think they are going out of business though, with 100K's in USD trade fees alone every day they should have some reserves. That said, no one should ever trust them again.
45  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is MtGox dying? on: January 28, 2014, 02:58:09 PM
Just look at the volume difference at: http://markets.blockchain.info/markets/mtgox/USD
My conclusion would be that no one looking to cash out their BTC is using Gox anymore. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would buy at that price. So that leaves day traders and they don't really care about the spread, they are just interested in price difference on Gox itself. But with the ever decreasing volume that won't be profitable for long.

I don't think arbitrage works unless you are using EUR. But the volume in EUR trades on Gox is even worse and you would need nerves of steal waiting for your withdrawal to be processed.

It's a sinking ship at the moment but i hope they solve their issues. If they go down so will the BTC price. And i don't think it will bounce back for a while if we can't trust an exchange.

There, I added 50 GH/s using LRMs Cex IO Link Smiley

How did you do this , could you please share with me too.
I guess he bought GHS on CEX. I have some stuff mining at btcguild. Does the same bonus apply if i let it hash at the linked ghash.io account? I'd be happy to signup again using the labrat referral link...

I'm still waiting for a response to my support ticket about cancelling the withdrawal requests. This has been a week now.
I got myself verified at Bitstamp in 4 days and the withdrawal was processed within 3 businessdays.

EDIT: Processed within 1 businessday i should say, then took another 2 days to hit the bankaccount.

I do hope that Mt.Gox catches up with the withdrawals. The ~80 EUR difference in price is alot.

There is still in place rule 20 days between withdrawals ? I hope they will cancel it soon, since from last email from mtgox they doubled day limit for transactions.
Yes but they are trying to make sure they don't end up with another queue at the next big rush. I've tried asking their support to cancel my withdrawal orders so i can just do one big one but i haven't heared anything yet (it's been a week now). I'm actually ok with the 20 day limit per user. If they have a limited number of transactions they can process per day this is the way to get many small withdrawals out of the way. I assume if they catchup they will process whatever transactions are left.

Another euro sepa transfer went to pending today done 2013/11/07. That is exactly 3 weeks and two days as said in their faq being the status update 29/11. Looks like the increased limit really has helped speed things up.

Another sepa transfer (less than 1k euro) from the same day still in "Confirmed" status.

And this one went pending today. Less than four weeks, and much less than I anticipated when I made the withdrawal (I was expecting to receive the money in early January).
Was this from the same account? I have multiple withdrawals in the queue and they are making me wait 20 days between withdrawals.

Good news everyone, MtGox doubled their SEPA limit! This might mean that the withdrawal queue is reduced.

https://www.mtgox.com/press_release_20131120.html

Neat! Although the volumes are still scary even with the doubled limit. Might take a lot more jumping through hoops from MtGox to actually be able to clear their SEPA queue.
I think it helps that they only allow a transfer every 20 days. I'm wondering if the limit was the number of transactions or the amount or EUR.

Still nothing from my June and July withdrawal. I think I'm about to suck it up, take my cash, and buy in at $800 at essentially 1/8 my original Bitcoins sold. Lesson learned, never use Gox again.
As much as i would encourage anybody to buy BTC instead of selling them, you *could* try to cancel the withdrawals and try them again using the international wire fee. I don't trade USD but from reactions here it seems people have had some success that way.

My €500 witdrawal from 10/13 changed to 'pending' today. Usually after that it takes a day to process.
I have more withdrawal requests in the queue and this actually is 20 days after the last withdrawal was processed.
Seems like the 6 week delay is correct, not sure if they are catching up now.
Right, so the money is now in my bankaccount. It has been 20 days since the last withdrawal (2013/09/17) was processed so it seems they are catching up on SEPA withdrawals.
Both withdrawals were for €500. I hope more people will post their withdrawal status so we can keep an eye on progress.

Did the recent price rise for BTC do anything for NAV?
57  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: November 19, 2013, 10:47:50 AM
On: https://support.mtgox.com/entries/21649594-Withdrawals-and-Deposits

It states: "Due to the volume of withdrawals requests, each customer is currently only allowed 1 withdrawal every 20 days (estimate)"

What does that estimate mean?

And: "Situation as of 19 November 2013: We are currently processing withdrawals requested six weeks ago. (Users with several withdrawals in the queue must take the 20 day rule above into account)"

I think this was eight weeks last time i checked. Are they catching up?

Just got another USD Swift withdrawal from mtgox (to a US bank). This was paying the 5% currency conversion fee charged by their japanese bank, and it took WAY more than a week this time, more like 3-4 weeks.
Was this a small or large amount? Small amounts seem to go through at the moment.
