41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / MTL on: October 23, 2017, 03:48:51 PM
What does everyone think of metal. It seems that once their wallet comes out, it will start to gain momentum. It seems like a cool project that businesses will adopt.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any BTG wallet available ? on: October 23, 2017, 03:44:35 PM
You can use online exchanges before an official wallet comes out.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First time mining rig. Advice needed. on: October 23, 2017, 03:41:31 PM
So i have decided to go for GPU instead of ASIC (Main reason being L3+ Availability 2nd reason if i dont get along with mining it can be easier to sell this equipment on)

Decided to go for....

5 ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
1 EVGA Supernova 1600w
1 EVGA Supernova 1300W
H81 Pro BTC R2.0??? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS MOBO?

Also what else am i going to need to run this!

Software is fine getting win.10 and will get the mining programs from pools.

Is there anything im missing?

I am new to this and this will be my first rig, Should be picking most of the kit up on Monday.

Beast cards, great for mining

You also don't need that much wattage. Just get two 850W Gold / Platinum PSUs.

I also wouldn't use that mobo. It's bios isn't updated as much and don't expect that much support. It's only 6 PCI-e lanes, and there are tons of other mobos that have 6 PCI-e lanes.

Also you need, CPU, RAM, SSD/HHD and cable risers.

44  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: China's second hand market and cheap asic's on: October 23, 2017, 03:36:31 PM
I think it is not very good idea to take second hand equipment for mining.

ROI isn't be good for this.

But when its rally cheap
why not?
\

yes i agree with you bro, even it is second hand mining rig, but then if it performs not bad, then why not buy it.

I've had nothing but great experiences with second-hand mining. If you can get a great deal, just make sure that it's working before you make the deal.
45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Where can I buy antminer s7 new? on: October 23, 2017, 03:32:45 PM
Be careful with "free" electricity; nothing is "free". If you have a landlord, and he realizes that you spent thousands of dollars in electricity alone, expect an eviction or even your power cut off.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will altcoins pump after BTC hard fork? on: October 23, 2017, 11:55:45 AM
Due to BTC hard fork, most altcoins are decreasing for weeks.
After last forks, people think they can make money. I don't think it's possible this time, but that's not my point.
While market cap remained constant, many people transferred altcoins into BTCs.
Now my question is, do you believe this trend will go into reverse?
I'm quite sure BTC decrease sharply after fork, but will altcoins increase or market cap decrease?
Glad to hear your opinions!

This hardfork has been quite profitable for me, I'd say it depends on strategy more as that it rely's on up/down. You need movement in a market to make money, up and down both will do. Also got to snatch some coins that would else be to expensive.

But for your question:
- I believe that some coins might not fully recover
- Think altcoin market cap will see some gains yes.

Wouldn't it be wiser to invest in Altcoins before/during the fork. I mean, a few days after the fork, you will be a laggard only following the new trends. In my opinion, this is really about the decision whether you would want Bitcoin Gold OR invest in a cheap Altcoin instead.

If you want to hold out for that long, sure. But demand most likely won't go back up the same unless a market shift. So unless you have enough buy orders to actually move the price 3-5%, just stick with btc.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [BTG] my Bitcoin Gold speculation on: October 23, 2017, 11:54:13 AM
Ethereum has smart contracts, BGold does not. This makes ethereum 10x more popular among businesses because they can create contracts.
48  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legal to gamble with Bitcoin in the US? on: October 23, 2017, 11:50:45 AM
"For a friend" lol.

Anyways, in the case of something like nitrogensports, it is technically illegal. However, don't expect government agencies to go banging on your door. They're much more likely to go after the headquarters of the site.

Although, with cases of a licensed bookie, if they do take bitcoin, then it's just a happy accident and you should be fine.
49  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Practice trading on: October 23, 2017, 01:05:33 AM
If you're completely new to trading, check out investopedia's guide. It's actually quite helpful and can sometimes translate into bitcoin's market.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what makes you trust a new altcoin? on: October 23, 2017, 01:04:54 AM
How they react to when accusations happen. Like if they act like babies, they're most likely babies. Something else to look at is their legal / developmental team. If they have a lot of experience / have worked at big companies before, then it's a good idea that you can trust them.

Cool stamp someone made. Problem is, people bring these into the treasury to take out of circulation. That's why you don't see any paper money that's 100+ year old, at least no that often.
52  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: COINBASE SCAM ALERT!!!!............ on: October 23, 2017, 01:02:05 AM
Good day everybody

I want to share information about my account in Coinbase, I have more than 700 BTC which I could not pull the funds are there, already more than one month I did not get an answer from the support, all answered by robots each email reply, my account position is currently frozen condition, I could only see the contents of the balance but could not do transactions, I've been thinking if this continues without the news this week, I will report the company's coin base to the FBI, CIA, USA investigation for committing fraud 700 BTC to me.

Cool, show actual proof then we'll believe you. More than likely something on your end went wrong.

Brand new account falling for one of the oldest tricks in the books, what's new.
54  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like $6000 is just another pump and dump on: October 23, 2017, 12:58:25 AM
It's called a correction, not every up / down is a pump & dump.
55  Economy / Services / Re: Paying Anyone $30 To Compile Some Information on: October 23, 2017, 12:48:00 AM
Why not just select one person to do it, rather than have everyone bring in info for you, wasting basically everyone except one person's time.

57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Want to hear your opinion on: October 22, 2017, 01:36:51 AM
Depends on which coin you think will become more profitable. If litecoin, then the L3, if bitcoin than the S9, if Dash then D3, or if Ether, then all GPU.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative PSU for Antminer L3+ ? on: October 22, 2017, 01:35:47 AM
I heard the EVGA 1050w GS is good for L3+
I'll check that out right now thanks for the tip

Honestly, anything that is 80+ gold / platinum / titanium rated. I personally take that 80+ rating over brand.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1070 ti on: October 22, 2017, 12:25:44 AM
Everything here is completely theoretical, we won't know until we get those cards in our hands and try it out. Although, the stats are showing that it'll be similar to a 1080.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does anyone know how to mine BCC (bitcoin cash) solo? on: October 22, 2017, 12:24:35 AM
Is there an update on this sub.? I would like to know if solo is posable.

You can use ViaBTC. Just change your setting to solo and you'll mine solo. But be wary, unless you have a really good rig, you're most likely not going to find anything.
