If GUP is more expensive, our bounty would be less value in ETH, not easy to decide. I prefer more bounty value in ETH.

Hello Matchpoolers!
We are excited as the clock ticks down on our ICO opening shot, Yesterday we have officially announced the Matchpool ICO price & bonuses As the ETH price surged in the last month we were forced to change our initial ICO rates to better adjust GUP price. We will not want to risk our investors ROI by setting GUP price to high. However, at the same time we also want to be able to meet our promises regarding Matchpool's road map which require us to raise certain amount of ETH.
So, we ended up calculating ETH price in the last 18 days in order to calculate a new GUP price that will not be too high and and will still ensure protection against a drastic ETH price drop seconds after the ICO.
According to our calculation ETH average price in the last 18 days was approximately 40$
And thus, in light of us trying to raise 5 Million USD that means we are looking into raising 125K ETH in total.
With a maximum of 60 Million GUPs to be distributed to ICO participants we set GUP price at 480 GUP per 1 ETH.
The above stated price will be valid only during our initial 5 hours "Power Hours" phase in the beginning of the ICO
Here are the full bonus details of our early supporters:
First 5 hours (33%) - 480 Guppies for ETH
After 5 hours and during the first 3 days (22%) - 440 Guppies for ETH
After 3 days during the first 2 weeks (11%) - 400 Guppies for ETH
After 2 weeks until the end - No bonus, 360 Guppies for ETH

 So basically there is a slight chance this will end up raising more than 5 million usd right? Exactly, if the price of Ethereum gets pumping more higher, it is very possible to raise more than 5 million, since the GUP:ETH rate is fixed. So pray for expensive Ether. Also if from strange reason people wont invest in power hour but after than there will be more than 5 Milion Are you seriously suggesting people won't buy in the 5 power hours of the ICO??? do you even listen to yourself? There is a very good chance the entire ICO will be over within the first 5 hours..... With this crafted PR work, line of advisors and creative idea you must be delusional to think no one will be during the power hour...my gusses are that half of the ICO amount will be raised during the firs 2 hours, and the rest within the following 3 days |

Hey Matchpoolers!
After a long day full of discussions and final checks, we have decided it will be the for best to reschedule Matchpool's ICO to next weekend - Sunday April 2nd After we spent the last two months doing the best we can to ensure the quality of our product and the interest of our investors, we as a team came to the conclusion that further security tests needs to be done on our ICO contracts in order to make sure the ICO funds are secure. As a project that is based on reputation, the last thing we want to do is to take unnecessary risks and destroy matchpool's name as other projects did before.
And so, the next week will be devoted for additional focused code checks and further security issues inspections. In order to keep you involved in the process we will be offering another bounty in the form of a Bug Bounty program which we will elaborate on in the following day.
All of us in the Matchpool family are deeply disappointed by this delay but believe with whole heart that it is better to be safe than sorry and that a single week delay will have no effect and will worth the securing of our community money.
we are deeply sorry for the late timing and ask for your understanding. I would lie if I said i'm not disappointed specially after I cleared my weekend for that.... 1. Could you please summarize the need and the advantages of using blockchain technology for dating apps compared to existing business platforms such as tinder?
2. What is the main function of the COIN. Is its main function to incentive new users?
3. How do you plan to generate the necessary network effects? Why should someone switch from tinder to matchpool? In addition, the acquisition costs 5 USD per new user seems comparably low..
4. Are any exchange listings planned? Or will be Liquid the first exchange?

can you please answer? Hey Cokezero, sorry for that...got my mind around a few things...  1. Yes sure, the use of blockchain has somethings to do with everything we do. Our entire system is built on top Smart contracts this is they way we can ensure each pool and host is following the platform rules and that payments are being made autonomously. By using the blockchain technology we can also encrypt our users private information (See our partnership with Uport). And in order to fund and execute our vision we need of course many resources that are better of being accomplished by doing an ICO, So as you can see it has everything to do with the blockchain. 2. The main function of the GUP is both to be able to attract new users by rewarding them with Matchpool inherent token and of course again to be able to fund this entire operation. 3. Honestly first because its an alternative that suggest a different approach that have never been used before and probably due to the fact the Tinder model as it is by today has many flaws we believe we can correct. 4. Hi all, I posted this in slack but I also wanna post it here just in case it gets more responses:
I assume, since we are investors, that we want large % growth for the risk we are taking.
I recall reading that, at least during the first hour of the ICO, 120GUP = 1ETH. I could be wrong about this. This is about $0.36 per GUP, at the time of writing this.
Even if the 120GUP rate is wrong, this question still applies.
I noticed in the matchpool demo video, that making a match would provide 10 GUP, which means that 10 GUP must come from the users who are being matched...
Surely there is an upper limit of how much people are willing to pay to be matched to someone?
If I have to pay 10 GUP, that's $3.60 already at ICO prices.... I'm not sure how much higher this token can grow in value in that case.
Perhaps people could be paid in tiny increments of GUP, based on the value of GUP:USD or GUP:ETH? Like if GUP was worth a lot, they would only need to pay/be paid 0.001GUP or something.
If anyone can correct me, I'd appreciate that.

EDIT: okay, the 120GUP:ETH ratio isn't correct. But the question still stands!
Every pool has its rules and ratios there is no fixed match rate for the entire system....and as of now there is a cap of 5 Milion $ for 60 Milion GUP so basically were are talking about 0.08$ per GUP |

After getting the hype here in recent days I really suggest to use Mist wallet or other hardware and not depending on MyEtherWallet to avoid Golem story all over again
What is the Golem story? Please elaborate. I'm guessing he means that the overload on MyEtherWallet crashed their servers and many people were not able to send Ether to the ICO address and were left outside of the ICO |

I remember that I didn't read any warning about not using the same eth wallet... I used the ICO wallet for the new bounty account, how can I change it?

A few days left before the beginning, I would like to know what will be the ratio ETH to GUP Hey Miayama, this is something we are working on right now. I can say with certain level of confidence that since the max cap is 5 Million $, and there are 60 Million GUPs to be allocated, than 1 GUP will be approximately 0.083$, meaning 1 ETH can get you around 530 GUPs...this is just plain math according to the prices at the moment and can be changed! also this calculation is not taking in consideration the different bonuses...Just to give you a direction. So probably 636 on power hour i guess (530*1.2) |

So next week will be the promised time when will wings tokens be distributed.
