41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: October 29, 2019, 08:08:06 AM
Decred attends the Blockhead Capital conference in Los Angeles, where recently released Privacy was shown to the public
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNPPMwr9TU8

Good video, thanx 4 sharing. That's great that almost everybody in the audience had Decred, so Jake didn't have to start with lots of basic stuff. I loved it when he said that other cryptocurrencies are made to solve particular issues but with Decred, they're trying to change the game itself (sounds badass, right? Cool) and they're more focused on the bigger picture than any short-term results. I think that's the right philosophy to build a really solid project.

Hi, guys! There are so many great pieces of art in this thread, wow! I myself wanted to create something simple and beautiful. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at it, so here's my best shot. I hope you like it  Smiley

Did you read the last development update? Doesn't look very shitty to me

It's Piston Honda, he seems to have a very limited vocabulary.

Just ignore him (or look at his post history for more fun Cheesy)

OMG, I checked, he is definitely a prolific writer, more than 4k posts - almost beyond my imagination  Shocked And you were right, the quality of his posts is exceptional  Cheesy

So what's going on with YEC? Any positive news? I see it's listed on Coinmarketcap, but it looks like it's not traded on any exchange right now.

Разработчики пару недель назад выложили неплохой такой отчет: https://pivx.org/pivx-development-update-2019-october-week-1/ Странно, что здесь тишина по этому поводу. Этой веткой еще кто-то интересуется?

I really like the user interface of this site. It's not difficult for beginners to navigate. The information conveyed is also straightforward and to the point. Very well developed. But I still look forward to your bounty or airdrop Wink Wink

Keep in mind you can also do split ticket buying with as little as five decred, so that may be another option for you if you do not have enough to purchase a ticket on your own.

Plus if anyone wants to "stake" for larger amounts, now is the time, or it's "almost" time if you want to buy the lower dip.

Decred has never looked better for HODLING. Cool

The ticket price is already 142 DCR and it's gonna rise even more over time. So staking doesn't look so good right now. Hodling - well, I think to sell Decred now before the next bull run would be a huge mistake.

But can't everyone buy more tickets with Decred priced below $20.00, with 142 DCR ticket, than a few months ago when Decred's price was $30.00, with 100 DCR ticket?

Plus the first objective is to HODL, staking rewards is a bonus. Cool

I see your point. I even created a chart to see how the ticket price in USD has been changing last year and it's pretty clear that it is almost the lowest right now.

So if you want to buy and hodl and stake Decred, maybe it's the right time. But from my perspective as a long-time DCR hodler, staking becomes less and less profitable. I used to buy almost twice as many tickets a while ago, and the number of tickets I'm able to buy with my stake will only decrease over time.

YES! That's it! Thanks for making this.

But staking helps, and the rewards should only really be a bonus for participating, and be a part of the network. It's not like you pay some costs for staking.

You're welcome! And yes, I understand that staking isn't just a way of generating some passive income, as jy-p explained here. So don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, it just happens that I wouldn't mind still getting a bigger bonus, that's all Wink

Why is it so quiet here? It seems very strange, cause it's the newest thread I could find. Is there any news?
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: October 21, 2019, 07:29:53 AM
Hello guys! How many coins should i have to receive POS rewards?

The current ticket price is around 129 DCR, but with ticket splitting feature you can participate in staking with only 5 DCR + transaction fees. You can find everything you need to know about ticket splitting here

Why is waves so low?
what do you mean low prices if yes about the price it does not matter because as it sometimes goes up sometimes down and now the waves are below the price but for their volume is still good and many people are still investing here, just be patient one day I am sure if the waves prices will rise again

The up and down movement is just normal in crypto trading. However, my main concern is that most of the waves assets are not doing good and almost all of them are not gaining any attention from the trading community. Is there any way to combat the dying waves assets? Honestly, only waves has decent value in the market while its assets created under their network has very little chance of making it good in crypto.
Yes, I agree that their assets do look bad and I am worried about all of that because they are afraid it will affect the wave itself and I notice that there may be too many garbage assets here so maybe the team should be more aware of the coin makers because for the good of this project too
It's decentralization, so I doubt the team can "police" or even have the bandwidth to monitor token issuers. Probably the best situation would be to have a reputation-based system where the community can just click to agree if a token is garbage or not. Ofc, doesn't eliminate the fact that ppl can hire folks to just "upvote" them, however, stuffs like age of the address, amount held could factor into the "weight" of the vote

The problem with that is that not so many traders are using waves dex. Maybe I'm wrong. This is the impression that I am getting as when you roam around this forum, very few are discussing the waves dex. It is like a forgotten platform. Waves team should think outside the box on how to sell their system better to create valuable assets.

I think you're right, just look at the trading volume here. Personally I've used Waves DEX only a couple of times to sell my useless MRT tokens (which I'm glad I did) and some VST (and I'm not so glad because I didn't sell them all). Otherwise, there's no point in using Waves DEX, IMHO

BTW, @Waves.support, do you have any plans to make use of WCT in the foreseeable future?

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dont be surprised if ETH hits 4000$ on: October 15, 2019, 05:04:06 AM
I also think in this direction that POS implementation for ETH after ETH 2.0 will make crypto enthusiasts want to hold ETH for staking benefits. But also in another dimension, some will take advantage of the news before ETH 2.0 to dump their coins if at all price soars. I have been a core supporter of Ethereum and I hope to see more development for the project aside price movement. The 4000$ mentioned here sounds more like a fallacy right now, but it's possible in the long run.

I agree. Steady development and widespread adoption - that's what matters in the long run. POS would be great too. Than $4k, $40k, you name the price - almost everything is possible if you hodl long enough
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: October 15, 2019, 04:54:05 AM
Decred just dropped under 0.002 BTC :/

Think that's an all time low on the ratio. If they're building a better bitcoin it certainly doesn't appear that the market agrees with them.

Maybe market makers from this proposal already started working?
https://proposals.decred.org/proposals/2eb7ddb29f151691ba14ac8c54d53f6692c1f5e8fe06244edf7d3c33fb440bd9

Expect lower prices if so.

Why do you think so?
