41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Unbreakablecoin (UNB) | SHA256 - Over 3x Bigger then Bitcoin | No Premine on: June 29, 2016, 03:35:21 PM
Hey everyone Smiley

I'm new to unbreakablecoin, but have been mining bitcoin for about 5 years.

I was looking for an altcoin that would benefit from some extra asic processing power, and after some research, I have chosen unbreakablecoin.

I am currently solo mining 1 x BFL 7gh asic using cgminer and blue version of unbreakablecoin wallet running on windows server 2008r2 x64.

Although 7gh isn't much, I do have other slightly more powerful asic miners that I may also add in the future...the unbreakablecoin network is currently running at 2.209 THs / 2209 GHs total...

The router firewall port 9336 is open and the wallet shows 3 connections, although I don't know how that works out when separating incoming and outgoing...

I was looking into the mining pools, and it seems that the only pool that currently supports unbreakablecoin is iSpace - http://ispace.co.uk/ - it seems to have about half the network power currently. The other pools seem down for whatever reasons...

!!!
There may be a problem with the iSpace pool though - my local wallet is showing the current block as 45871 - the block explorer ( https://www.blockexperts.com/unb ) is also showing the current block as 45871 - but the iSpace pool is showing the last known block as 45870. If my understanding of how the blockchain works is correct, then if iSpace pool is working on 45870 as the current block, it means it doesn't know block 45871 exists, so is trying to find block 45871, which when found by iSpace pool, will cause a fork in the blockchain, as its not currently in sync with the rest of the network, which knows block 45871 already exists...If I am correct, this needs to be sorted asap...I hope I am wrong...this could mean that iSpace are in the process of stopping supporting unbreakablecoin...?
!!!

The current maths for unbreakablecoin blocks looks like:-

last 2016 block = 44352
current block = 45871
next 2016 block = 46368

46368 - 45871 = 497 blocks left until difficulty change every 2016 blocks.

currently minimum of 1 block found per day.

1 block per day = 497 days / 1 year & 132 days
1 block per 2 days  = 994 days / 2 years & 264 days
1 block per 3 days = 1491 days / 4 years & 31 days
etc ...

I have done a youtube vid on unbreakablecoin that will be on my channel soon - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCndNXZT2RhxHv7tXfW-WMSg

I have been looking into running a UNOMP pool server dedicated to unbreakablecoin, but unfortunately that has not made it too far currently.

Am looking forward to chatting with others and seeing where the future takes unbreakablecoin...its current state has as much downside as it has potential !!!

Cheers for reading - comments, questions or suggestions welcome Smiley

Hey Everyone Smiley
Hey Slush Smiley

Hope your all well.

When I first started mining, many moons ago, I was mining with Slush's pool...& never really had any problems, thanks very much.

I can't exactly remember what made me switch pools, but I have been mining with BTCGuild currently.
I have wanted to move back to Slush's pool, but the thing thats holding me back is Namecoin merged mining... I never mined them originally with Slush, and now I wish I had.

I have mined a few through BTCGuild, but what with all this talk of regulation in US and such like, if BTCGuild does shutdown completely, will you, Slush, be re-implementing merged Namecoin mining again?

I hope so !!! Otherwise, I have no idea which direction to head in next - without Namecoin mining, there is basically no Namecoin network, right? Unless your talking solo merged mining or something, right?

Any input is welcome - I hope to make new friends here, and perhaps bump into friends from BA's forum originally, or from here originally that I have now met on BA's forum... hope that makes sense... Smiley

For the record, I only mine small scale - I used to GPU mine mainly with 1 x Asus 6870, & 2 x Asus 7970's.
Now I am mining with 1 x BE, 2 x BFL 7gh's, 1 x BFL 25gh's, & 1 x BA Prospero X1 ( rpi version ) mostly running around 100-120gh's unless its crashed - you may have seen my vids on youtube - please
search under my name on here on there Smiley

I hope merged Namecoin mining makes a return to Slush's Pool !!!

Thanks everyone, & again, thanks Slush for all your time & effort in the past & into the future Smiley !!!
