41  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 21, 2013, 12:16:36 PM
1470 - 67 |  11:00  |  69 - 9460
1470 - 67 |  12:00  |  69 - 9160

Not much motion right now, as expected.

Now I lough so hard if all the latest boost in price was people trying to get their money off MtGox fearing US legislation. Anything I overlook that renders this hypothesis wrong?

Decent price for half a pizza anyway.. I hope we'll see 67ish before 70 or once again I fed MtGox without putting anything on my table  Cry

i dont understand why somebody sell at 63 if at the same time on another side somedody buy for 64,50.  Are you have no eyes?Huh??

I wonder if many people are trading this without any live charts.

And then again there are times without any action at a spread of only .2

"I don't know if I want to buy/sell, let's just sit somewhere close to the front and let somebody else decide"

Next selling wall getting ready to drop to a market order?
46  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 20, 2013, 11:54:44 PM
Seeing the 400 BTC wall at 64 disappear and then brtzzz let's make it a market order... I like live entertainment Smiley
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 20, 2013, 11:27:47 PM
Was almost going back in a minute ago, but it seems to go deeper Smiley *need popcorn*

That selling wall goes so quickly to adjust to any new price, it seems like at least two big agents are playing the same game of get out quickly. One sets x.00 other one x-1.99 etc.
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 20, 2013, 11:11:28 PM
So much pump & dump, Mt Gox could profit from some regulation...
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 20, 2013, 10:56:09 PM
Buy may not look so wallish but 14k BTC to 58 is quite a resistance, i'd say we're quite safe of loosing todays winnings anytime soon.
50  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 20, 2013, 10:51:41 PM
Starting to lag bad...

I see some technical indicators turning bad, maybe a few bots feel they should wake up and spam the api? Lag = Bearish indicator !?

Coming down ?

52  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current Situation vs. 2011 Bubble - you ain't seen nothin' yet! on: March 20, 2013, 07:40:26 PM
By the looks of it - if we were in a bubble it would be about 600.

I have to admit, made me laugh Smiley
53  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current Situation vs. 2011 Bubble - you ain't seen nothin' yet! on: March 20, 2013, 05:57:13 PM
So the diagram states that the price today is not as far off from it's long term average as it was back then? We only saw a 500% increase instead of 3500% given the same time constants?
54  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 20, 2013, 04:45:05 PM
Roughly 4.5 million coins have traded hands in the past 11 weeks.

I put an amount X of BTC on MtGox for the first time 2 weeks ago. Until today, I paid fees for buying >25 times the bitcoins i went in with, never adding fiat on MtGox.
Now I wouldn't consider myself a very active trader, bots will probably shuffle even more. So there might be some factor you neglect when you say it that way. I expect there to be alot of people going in and out of fiat every day.
Anyway, I agree, a lot of profit taking will be done already. It seems to get harder from day to day to beat the market daytrading, holding is the strategy of choice. We see those large upward jumps but rarely any good chances to go short with a good profit.
55  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 20, 2013, 04:37:15 PM
There will be a correction.

Not much room for it right now, we would need about 10k BTC to get back down to 59 that we saw not much earlier today..
56  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 19, 2013, 11:41:53 PM
MtGox fees are starting to feel ridiculous at this level, especially considering the service  Undecided
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 19, 2013, 11:26:17 PM
This time gently and in style.
58  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 19, 2013, 10:12:44 PM
Finally  Grin (> 48)
59  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 19, 2013, 09:30:26 PM
The question is: will that be cheapter than what we do today? How much is not having to trust anybody in the middle worth?

I don't quite understand your thinking. Why not just use Bitcoin as money?

There is no thinking to understand - you're an optimist Wink I however don't see my boss paying me in btc anytime soon.

My thoughts circle around adoption of bitcoin and I see the replacement of hawala systems as one of the main drivers in the near future.
That is, getting cash from A to B globally, but now without anybody you need to trust in the middle.
Cash still beats bitcoin when it comes to lack of tracability and wide acceptance, I would expect this to stay that way.

Regarding the walls: I'm so bored, i just bought at 57.0x to sell at 58 - .0x MtGox will be happy about it.
60  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 19, 2013, 07:08:23 PM
I really don't disagree with you. Going over $62 is not guaranteed. I just thought sellers were being a little emotional selling after a $7 drop had already taken place. They were just hoping for some more down action to take profits on when the downmove was almost finished. We definitely overextended for a moment, but after the $7 drop I was lol'ing at their bear hopes.

I think there isn't any bear hope behind those motions. Bots see a high spread and volatility and try to make a profit. Why not sell at 56 when you can buy back in at 55? That's +EV. I believe there might be quite a few people around that made more than 52->60 today.
