No doubt will be included in the next updates.
Can be expected from version 1.4 onwards.
Version 1.3 is ready to go out these days.

This was all i wanted to hear actually  Grin

is this "Zero Knowledge Proof" thing not all about paranoia?  Grin
i mean is simply mixing and hiding your ip not good enough?
For me personally i don't care if it is that secure, because i'm just an investor who has nothing to hide  Grin
But i think the criminals will feel safer if they know, that the nsa or any other authority can't see what transactions were made if they get their hands on the devices by house searchings for example.

I want to say that i really like this coin, but i'm really missing this important feature:
Fully encrypted wallet :
-At the moment everybody who has access to your device can see all your transactions without a need for a password Roll Eyes
-monero,bytecoin, zcash etc. have this.

Is it possible to do this?

You could maybe make a new Github issue as a feature request: https://github.com/spectrecoin/spectre

I'm sure it is possible and will be implemented when enough people are interested in that. Alternatively you could encrypt your hard disk or put the data directory of the wallet inside an encrypted container.

Yes of course i could do that, but it it was better if it is fully encrypted by default, when i encrypt my wallet. Why should a coin which is made for anonymity leave out such an easy implementable feature?

A feature what I'm really missing, is that the addresses and balances are encrypted. For example,if you open for example a bytecoin wallet you can't see anything:
No transactions , no balances ,no addresses unless you type in the pass phrase.
I think this is not so difficult to develop and is an important feature when it comes to privacy.

thank you gandalf86!

Honestly I don't know of such a feature?? Must have something to do with getting a new change address maybe, but this doesn't apply to stake rewards because there is no output in that case.
what i meant was http://bitzuma.com/posts/five-ways-to-lose-money-with-bitcoin-change-addresses/

My concern is,when i only back up the wallet.dat from the original wallet and not the one i'm staking with, that my staked coins could be lost, even if i can see the stakes on my orginal wallet...I'm not sure if this can happen, i just want to be sure.Maybe i better back up both wallet.dat files even if they show the same amount  Undecided

Do i have to make copies of my staking wallet.dat file or is it enough, when i make backups from my not staking wallet to not to lose staked coins?

Hope you understand my concerns and can help me. thanks

If you want to be sure, export your clear text private keys with the "dumpprivkey" command in the debug console. You only need to do this once for each address.

So, spectrecoin doesn't change my address after an specific amount of transactions like bitcoin?

what is the syntax of "dumpprivkey"?
dumpprivkey -password -address?
because i get the Error: Please enter the wallet passphrase with walletpassphrase first. (code -13)

And how do i import my clear text private keys later?

hello, i'm staking 24/7 spectrecoins but i have a strange problem:

I'm using a netbook for staking 24/7 with a copied wallet.dat from my original wallet.
The balance is shown as zero but it accepted my password and it has a specific weight for the staking.
So when i look from my original wallet with my laptop i see the correct balance and that the netbook is staking well. But the netbook doesn't even show my staked transactions.

So i have some questions about that issue:
The first thing is that my copied wallet.dat files always show zero balance, even after several restarts of the wallet. (also on different devices)
(i'm using the current self compiled version 1.2.0 for linux )
What can i do about that? My fear is that i can't make correct backups if this problem can't be solved.

Do i have to make copies of my staking wallet.dat file or is it enough, when i make backups from my not staking wallet to not to lose staked coins?

Hope you understand my concerns and can help me. thanks

ok,this seems to be possible.than there is a difference between hashes and solutions?!

yes, okay that's absolutely true. But we're talking about 180 Mio. Highend Gpus. Even the fastest supercomputer in the world has just around 10.6 Mio. cores. I mean even if you put all supercomputers together, just to mine zcash...come on this seems to me even more crazy...

i have made some thoughts about the zcash hashrate :

Today i checked the hashrate of zcash and it is about 9mio khasps or 9,000,000,000 h/s or 9Gh/s.
I wonder how can this be,if my 1060 GTX has around 50h/s according to suprnova.cc
That would mean that the hashrate equals 180,000,000 equals 180mio. Nvidia GTX 1060 graphic cards.

I ask me, if even bitcoin is just used by around 10 Mio. users (very high estimated,https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4o3pl2/how_many_people_actually_own_bitcoin/)).
Than i think there are maybe just 100,000 people who use zcash (extremily high estimated)
Than let's say 100% of them would also mine zcash. That would mean, that the average user would have to own about 1800 GPUs.

This seems to me absolutely ridiculously. Roll Eyes
So can somebody tell me what i did wrong in my reflectings?  Grin
