2x bit coin block erupter cubes and one faulty red fury

one cube doesn't power ( PSU cuts off after 1min) yet was working beautifully for months has slight rusting but did not effect use of cube
And the Other has one dead chip but works amazingly with a great hash rate.
Red fury is detected by cgminer but is zombie and has no led
£150 ono the lot

51  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HELP! ethernet not connected to block erupter cube? on: July 06, 2014, 10:16:59 AM
changed both fuses and still the same..I am only using one cube at a time to test as i only have a 700w thermaltake psu.. got all the lights just not the ethernet lights

Im thinking its defo the computer..maybe the lan isn't working..its just strange how the settings change once i  remove the cubes cable though

i would love a rock miner but the budget stops that Sad

thanks for your help guys Smiley
52  Bitcoin / Hardware / HELP! ethernet not connected to block erupter cube? on: July 05, 2014, 06:20:10 PM
It says on my piece of pants computer that the lan cable is unplugged..

well it isnt and thats the same for both cubes :/ and 4 different cables..

WTF do I do?

ahhhhh!! oh yeah and what makes my computer more pants is its on vista Sad

I have gone to millions of forums and tried different bits and bobs like setting static ip blah blah, taken the chmos battery out and put it back in again, reset my computer and all the simple tiedeous stuff.

but the wierd thing is when i unplug and plug the lan back in the lan setting reset themselves yet no cable is plugged in apparently..

please help if you can and thankyou in advance Smiley

54  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining on laptop on: July 03, 2014, 10:21:19 AM
what you need is a raspberry pi and aload of hex's or cubes or usb miners..the world is your oyster my friend...

but if you dont wanna leave your lappie out in all this just use that instead of the pi, but the pi will be cheaper lekki wise me thinks Smiley

hey dogie
fantastic write up, but quick question you said the 750w psu for 2 cubes..what about chucking a hexminer in there too?what would be the best psu and is it advisable to run a different piece of equiptment with the cubes?
thanks Cheesy
