42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / [AIRDROP] PoCC BURST Airdrop. Get your free BURST coins! on: November 03, 2018, 03:22:45 AM
All you are required to do is reply with your Burst address in this thread in /r/burstcoin in Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/burstcoin/comments/9t86gw/pocc_burst_airdrops/

Read the terms below as written by PoCC developer rico666.

The PoCC has a strong infrastructure in place which enables us to perform "mega faucet events" (hundreds of thousands to millions of recipients). In order to test it, there will be some smaller test runs with potentially tens of thousands of recipients.

Each run will have some rules specified to prevent (or rather: inhibit) abuse. We will start off with reddit here, so here are the rules for the 1st PoCC BURST Airdrop Test Run (Reddit):

  • eligible is any reddit account meeting the requirements stated below

  • the reddit account requesting must have been created October, 31st 2018 or earlier (server time, sorry Oceanians)

  • the account has to answer this thread, posting a BURST Address (in RS Format) and a BURST address only - no text. See "HowTo" below for the quickest way getting a wallet and address.

  • This BURST address has to be new, i.e. no balance and no previous transactions

Every address in an answer to this thread meeting the requirements will get 0.1 BURST. While not much, this takes the hassle away of obtaining "your first Burst" to be able to receive funds from e,g, Bittrex, setting your account name, reward recipient etc... We're ready to serve dozens of thousands of accounts.

Addresses will be processed in chunks of 128 per faucet transaction, so please some patience if that threshold is currently not met,
HowTo: Your fastest way(s) to a Burst address (either one will do).
Use an online wallet, e.g. https://wallet.burst.cryptoguru.org:8125/ to create an account.

Download the Android Wallet. https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=PoC+Consortium and create an account
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Power Consumption on: October 19, 2018, 03:28:28 AM
Power consumption of bitcoin mining keeps going up. And will continue to go up as bitcoin usage and price increases. This have harsh enviromental implications. Is there a way to reduce power consumption or are there plans to switch to a more eco-friendly way of mining bitcoin?

It's not just Bitcoin-specific. The same is the case for cryptocurrency coining Ethereum and other blockchain mining.

Except Burst, a cryptocurrency that you can mine that uses very low power by using the free space in your hard drives. I have seen many complaints about Bitcoin's power consumption, but none of them are supporting the project thats trying to fix that problem. Support Burst or know about it.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: October 19, 2018, 03:13:28 AM

Does anyone in the EOS community, who has attended conferences know who that developer is? Some supporters from the Burst community have been asking about him and who he is but none of the Burst developers are helping lol.

Is that developer from EOS or Burst?
45  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Shortage of positions in bitcoin signature campaigns for good posters? on: October 17, 2018, 04:32:38 AM
There should be a rule that the only cryptocurrencies permitted to be used for campaigns should be BTC and a few good altcoins. It would not only help stop useless token bounties but additionally help some good altcoins circulate in the forum.

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BURST SPECULATION, the next big thing, mining with your HARD DRIVES! on: October 17, 2018, 04:05:18 AM
Daniel "nixops" Jones was a speaker in the Blockchain NW Summit today. This is a new age for Burst, a project we can start to be proud of enough to present it in front of the people in blockchain conferences.

The Burst community owes a life debt to the PoCC and its contributers lol.
47  Economy / Economics / Re: Talk about a new consensus of PoC(proof of contribution) on: October 16, 2018, 04:21:06 AM
Are you merit begging? That could give you negative trust. Plagiarizing other people's work will also cause you getting a permanent ban. You have to prove that work is really yours.

PoC is already taken by Proof of Capacity, you should use another acronym lol.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Sears, the store that changed America, declares bankruptcy on: October 16, 2018, 04:10:51 AM
I dont think Sear's bankruptcy will affect inbound call center jobs. Sears is just one giant among other giant companies from America, Europe and Asia that want to save costs by offsourcing jobs.

Anyhow, bad news. Amazon should buy Sears lol.
49  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▰▰▰ LUCKYGAMES.IO ▰▰▰ ✅ 5 Awesome Games ✅ 61 Cryptocurrencies ✅ Daily Contests on: October 13, 2018, 03:50:05 AM
There was a person who was promoting a luckygames.cc in /r/burstcoin and the thread was deleted by the mods. Does that .cc website go to the same site as luckygames.io or is it a phishing attempt? Ty.
50  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Hi, im looking for interesting projects to work with. on: October 13, 2018, 03:23:49 AM
If you want to work on a project that has the potential to 100x in the next bull market, why not Burst? The project is always looking for new talent like you to contribute or sometimes be part of the PoCC's team.

Check their website and the whitepaper to see if you like it.

I couldnt send you pm. Do you have telegram?

Kind regards

Hi sorry. I didnt see your reply. But you can contact the Proof of Capacity Consortium directly in Discord and Reddit. Good luck.

I also recommend that you get in contact with nixops in Reddit. He is a very good developer who did Burst's first off the grid transaction.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: Institutional Investors Are Using Back Door for Crypto Buys on: October 13, 2018, 03:11:45 AM
No one understood the real concern. Bitcoin is not fungible. It was already predicted that a coin that has gone through the hands of criminals in the darknet, and sometimes coins that has gone through the gambling sites will be priced less than the coins that didnt. Its happenning.

Having that said, coin mixers will be very happy lol.
52  Economy / Economics / Re: Institutional Investors Are Using Back Door for Crypto Buys on: October 11, 2018, 04:58:24 AM
It is now more revealing of fungibility's importance in cryptocurrencies if theres a market that fills a gap for institutional investors' demand for virgin coins with a 20% premium.

There were already presumptions before that markets for clean coins would emerge.
53  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How Binance Conquered The Cryptocurrency World ? on: October 11, 2018, 04:23:08 AM
The answer is simple. When the most popular exchanges started demanding for KYC/AML from their users, it was Binance who took advantage and didnt require it to anyone who signed up to their exchange.

They also took advantage of the banning situation in China by allowing Chinese people to sign up.

CloudHurstDapp is now available on Arch Linux repository!

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burst weekly report! The future is bright! Proof of Capacity is here. on: October 01, 2018, 03:06:55 AM
It has been weeks and over a year since the Proof of Capacity Consortium has been developing improvements and giving Burst some stability. Technically, it has never been in a better position to become a top 100 coin in market value. Mining capacity is bigger, there are more public nodes, but its community needs to do its part in making it known.

Burst community, do your part. Show the general community that there is a better, greener coin waiting to be adopted.

Weekley Burst Report #54

  • A new version of Scavenger – “the fastest Burst miner” – has been released. Version 1.4.0 is a major release with a substantial changelog. In short, it features many performance improvements (especially for big mining rigs) and new features. You can check it out and download it freely on GitHub.

  • The new 2.2.3 BRS core wallet released last week looks stable so far. The PoC Consortium recommends updating if you haven’t already. Click here to download it for your operating system. Numbers of public nodes keep increasing thanks to the fixes brought by this latest version (482 at the time of publication).

  • Call for Code is a multi-year global initiative that is a rallying cry to developers to use their skills and mastery of the latest technologies, and to create new ones, to drive positive and long-lasting change across the world with their code. This year, the inaugural Call for Code Challenge theme is Natural Disaster Preparedness and Relief.

Last week, we reviewed Daniel Jones’ (@nixops) concept of Proof-of-Life, which uses blockchain and radio to send a message to confirm someone is alive in a war time or natural disaster scenario. Daniel’s technology has been submitted to Call for Code – there are many prizes to win so let’s keep our fingers crossed. Here is the project’s repository.

  • Some explanations of what the roadmap looks like after the various announcements over the past few months, by PoC Consortium developer rico666.

  • Don’t forget to vote for Burst for the Numex listing. It is free, it takes a few seconds and you do not need to register.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BURST SPECULATION, the next big thing, mining with your HARD DRIVES! on: October 01, 2018, 02:44:42 AM
Burst is not favored as highly as it deserves to be. You can use its market value as a direct representation to show it. The general community just ignores it in preference for the projects that have a marketing budget lol.
60  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Do you own a shitcoin? lol Find out. on: September 30, 2018, 03:58:58 AM
CryptyMike, nice to see you here again. I thought the site was just going to die lol. But its good to know that you are adding more into it. I hope you have the all clicks and views you need to maintain it. Good luck.

I hope your shittiness algorithm will be nice to Burst lol. Tongue

haha thank you Cheesy We are super excited for the coin dashboards with shittiness algo....this will essentially be version 1 of the site....then we iterate and improve, etc.

Regarding your Burst...well, it's not up to us, it's up the algo...moving forward this means rankings will be dynamic.

- Mike

Okay lol. But when will be the first release of the new dashboard? Right before the next bull market I hope. That would be the best time for users to test the site and look for less shitty shitcoins to invest in. Smiley

Having that said, Burst has no premine and no ICO, it has been attacked by some people who were pretending to be supporters, crashed the price, DDOS the nodes, but it still is living on better than ever under a new team called the Proof of Capacity Consortium. Node count is increasing and also mining capacity. Its a project deserving to be in the top 50 if you ask me.
