41  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A Word of Advice about Paypal & Crypto on: November 04, 2020, 07:20:56 PM
Satoshi is laughing like hell about the human race seeing how his radical idea of decentralization and "being her/his own bank"  is willingly moved into hands of ugly centralized monsters.
42  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A Word of Advice about Paypal & Crypto on: November 04, 2020, 07:18:11 PM
I'd rather recommend Coinbase to a newbie, at least it has lower fees, market prices and ability to withdraw your coins. The only benefit of PayPal is that it would allow complete beginners to get a psychological feeling of how it is to own Bitcoin, while being in a familiar to them environment.

And I'd personally do the same. But the thing is, A LOT of people already have PayPal accounts to start with; hence they wouldn't even need to do research on what bitcoin exchange to use, create another account on the chosen platform, submit all the AML/KYC, and all that jazz. Convenience is a big factor.

Good points, but I bet PP will not allow to simply send your btc to another btc wallet. They will allow you to buy coins from your PP wallet for a rip-off rate as it's normal for them after submitting a hell lot of documents, then they'll block your account for some reason for 180 days, then something else.

My original point was not about (fake) PP convenience, but about NOT YOUR KEYS / NOT YOUR COINS. And definitely PP is one of the worst choices for keeping that mantra.

43  Economy / Service Discussion / A Word of Advice about Paypal & Crypto on: November 03, 2020, 12:23:18 PM
I think everybody heard that Paypal is going to add crypto into its wallets/services.

A word of advice:
If you are NOT a fully legal US or European citizen, your Paypal fiat and crypto funds are ALWAYS at risk. Paypal is famous about blocking fiat accounts and that paranoia will be ten times higher with crypto. Never have a lot of money in your Paypal accounts, both fiat and crypto. Use Paypal when you only really need to.

Remember the Crypto Mantra:
NOT YOUR KEYS, NOT YOUR COINS !

Keep your money to yourself, be your own bank as it was originally established by Satoshi.
44  Economy / Goods / Re: BPOVTMG Free BookShop (Get Paper Books You Need for FREE) on: November 02, 2020, 04:48:04 PM
First of all I would like to appreciate you for what you are doing. This is very rare to see someone do something like that for free and books lovers are also rare. It feels good when I see one like me who love books and know their importance.

Coming to the point. before I place my request I would like to ask few things:
first does one person can only request for one book or for $10 worth of books? I actually am wanting to acquire a series of books (novels) so wondering if you can sponsor me all of them. (they are some 100 small novel books)
2nd, I've found a book in the website you mentioned which is only $4 (with shipping) so can I request for 2 books for under $10?

And Keep your good work and thanks again.

Hi and WARM greetings to my fellow book enthusiast!

(1) You can order as many books as possible if the TOTAL (incl. shipping) is <= $10.
(2) Answered in (1) :-)

Place your order and the books will be on the way soon. Please do not post your address here, of course, send it by PM to me.

In the times of horrendous network fees and long confirmation times, check out the Bitcoin Lightning!
In times of horrendous network fees, you're too late funding a channel Tongue
But there's a way around it if you use a custodial wallet (for small amounts only) and fund it using altcoin through one of the many LN-exchanges.

Thanks for the advice! Which altcoin would you recommend for this trick?

It solves those issues and makes Bitcoin a means of quick and cheap exchange again.
48  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] 60$ BTC [WTB] WebMoney on: November 01, 2020, 12:46:36 AM
I need 60$ in WebMoney (WMZ). 1:1 preev.com rates. I don't mind going first if you're trusted.

I rather do the whole thing at once, so I'm not willing to take smaller amounts. P.M if interested.

PM'd you, we can do it.
49  Economy / Goods / Re: BPOVTMG Free BookShop (Get Paper Books You Need for FREE) on: October 26, 2020, 08:25:34 AM
So are you still giving books? You told me in telegram you couldnt? Ill like to order another if your still doing it.

Hi again, yes, the shop is open. Your last order was returned by post because of incorrect address and it took me some time and effort to refund. So, I am not ready to sponsor your next order 100%, only 50% (up to $5).

Book arrived, thank you very much bpovtmg!  Grin Grin
Congratulations bro, and I personally join you in Thanking bpovtmg, he's doing something really great in here, and my only advice is for him to keep it up, I am still waiting to get mine and am hopeful it will arrive safely

@bpovtmg how am I going know when the book arrive? Did you put my phone number in the description of the item so I can be called up when it arrives?

Hi, unfortunately, your location is pretty far away from the US and for normal post it takes many days to reach the destination, and also Covid adds to the timeline.

Unfortunately, there is no way to track or add a phone because it's just normal cheapest post. You just wait ...

I would say 45-60+ days is pretty common for international post now.

OK  thanks mate, I was just worried as to how I will be able to know when the book arrives my nearest post office, normally, if a phone number is included in the description of the item or package, it makes it easier for the post office to contact the owner and let them know they have a package, the owner then goes to the post office to pick the item or package, I will just check on the post office After 60 days to see if the item arrived.

Yes, it's a smart move to check regularly with the post office whether the book has arrived. In any way, everything is slow now. I have a package with rice spices sent to me from your country (remember we talked about it in PM) to my country and it's still stuck at your country's customs for 2 weeks already! And it was sent by a pretty expensive method!

You provide your bank details. The guy transfers the funds from an account with an unknown and unverified origin  (stolen?) and police comes to you. The guy is long gone, of course.

57  Local / Suche / Re: [SUCHE] PM History Magazin (all printed issues 2020) on: October 08, 2020, 01:54:05 PM

Wink

Sorry for my answers in English, ich bin nicht so gut in Deutsch.

It's absolutely clear for me that financially it doesn't make sense for you. Making it even 1:1 in btc , does not make financial sense for me (its easier to pay euros to PM, obviously).

Regarding my free book shop: i did not want to look as a cheap shot trying to exploit poor people and wanted to show that  I do many things financially not viable.

Check this Reddit too:
https://www.reddit.com/r/RandomActsOfReading/

And I challenge you too: If you do the same thing, useful and FREE for people, let me know and I will put it into my signature. Free for you, of course, as a "Werbung" of a good thing.
58  Local / Suche / Re: [SUCHE] PM History Magazin (all printed issues 2020) on: October 08, 2020, 01:13:45 PM
Hi, guys!

It looks my offer created some emotions in your community :-)

Don't misunderstand me, it is pretty logical financially:

1) Of course, i can do it directly by paying in euros to PM, no big deal. I just wanted to see maybe for somebody in Germany it makes sense to get some btc in this way by such indirect exchange.
2) I am really happy for you, guys, that in Germany you can get btc very cheaply (close to 1:1 for cash or for some more % at ATM). You should really cherish your country because of that. It is not the case in very many countries.
3) For your better understanding, if I would have received a similar offer for Russian magazines, I would go for it. For me, it would make sense.

Hope it clears possible differences in perspective.

PS
Just in case that I don't look to you as a guy trying to exploit you for cheap, please visit my FREE bookshop. You will get paper books there for absolutely FREE. Gratis, as you say in German. No hidden secrets, absolutely free because real, physical books are my passion and hate when they end up at landfills. It's an "Aufwand" for me, of course, but I go for it :-)
