I did quick math of the new model for airdrop distribution as there where many others complaining about the unfair system. With these data at hand, we can clearly see from the calculations that the distribution leans more towards the large holders and early participants as there is a humongous gap between them and the post 16th airdrop participants (a thousand times more). It gets even worse as the coins they receive from the future airdrops would be multipliers for the succeeding ones. If this goes on, the coins would only be held by a handful from the top (above 1000, 2000, 5000 = which is just about 62 people in total).

Now my question is, is this a healthy situation for Deep Onion in general? In my opinion NO, 62 people owning a very large percentage (which still grows as the weekly airdrops come) is a worse scenario than the hundreds of bitcoin whales that manipulate the BTC market right now.

The airdrop should have been the solution for a fairer share for each and the vector for general mass adoption, but with the current system, it looks like it would make the DO whales a larger whale and the new participants would be left with dust particles of the Deep Onion supply.

I hope the mods and people here in the DO community can shed light to this. Hoping the best for you all.

- the final airdrop is coming closer
- its starting to get more and more attention in general
- and it got listed on a new exchange(even though it is a small one ) a few hours ago along with the push

i watched the push some guys threw 3 btc at it to get from .0007 to 0.001 i assume that these guys are some of the big btx holders who want the price to go up till november not just pump and dump. Dont think that we see 60000 sat again
But i also could be wrong one way or another i will just hodl on to my coins and get my 3 %

Its a very new project. The devs very active and they are progressing quickly with new news or getting things done daily. The whitepaper has not yet been released as far as I'm aware but it is being worked on last I was aware. At this stage in the process there is no way to know this but if you read through post and this thread you can make your own decision on the project. Some really good things are low supply, very active devs and community and also goals being met quickly. One of the perks of taking risk this early on a new project with limited info is that the reward if successful will be higher but it is more of a risk then say investing in BTC which is already established. Like, a week ago, the "low cap" was the reward you could get by being a Jr. member, it was around 400 Onions.
So, we should keep it as is, in other words, no matter how many Onions you have, you would still get around 300-400 Onions per week. It could be less, it all depends on the number of Airdropped. There's currently 250,000 onions distributed per week, and there's something like 300 airdroppers, so, setting a low-cap of 300 Onions for everybody would "lock-in" around 90,000 Onions distributed evenly, and then, the 160,000 remaining coins would be shared amongst big holders, proportionately to what they hold.
Btw, Numbers are just an example..
This seems more fair. Please do your best to discuss this with other mods. And with the help of you we can make this rule active in next airdrops

I like this idea but wouldn't it still cost money to set up? I think like mentioned before it is a problem that the coins are just received and then sold immediately. I think the biggest problem with devcoin is that there really is not a ton of people accepting the coins.

Many people get nervous just for a few days.
I recommend that you stop investing in ICO if you manage that level of impatience.

Well technically it's not a fake account, it used to be legit. It is a failed cryptocurrency that called itself ethereum dark too (adding 'dark' to a popular coin seems to be a trend, huh?). I don't think it has anything to do with this currency, it's been three years and their whole demeanor and layout seems very different.
