Believed in ETH for several years now, and glad to have bought before the 10% pump this morning. Pandemic has really made the economy suffer, and people are finding ways to take profits in any way they can.

In the crypto industry, traders can win if they play it smart, bounties are no longer a thing but grabbed some XEM's for their 1:1 airdrop with their new token, anything that can make me money to go and buy something is key right now.

Nice song though, can't believe it has been 6 years since
44  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal/Venmo are going to become bitcoin vendors? on: August 14, 2020, 04:27:40 AM
I read somewhere back then that PayPal was kinda against crypto, but I guess that's really how massive technologies are when they were still new. Anyways, it's great to see PayPal finally opening their eyes and seeing the amount of transactions that can happen inside PayPal if they start integrating crypto in it. Not to mention the adoption side of things too. Very similar to how banks are against crypto back then, and how tables have turned with the bank in Lithuania doing their own coin through the NEM ecosystem. Fiat will always be the global currency but crypto will slowly sneak in.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Tencent Builds Blockchain Platform for China’s Oldest Wine Producer on: August 04, 2020, 08:47:45 PM
Chinese tech giant Tencent has revealed its plan for creating a blockchain-based wine traceability platform in collaboration with Changyu, China’s biggest and oldest wine producer, according to local news on July 31. It is said to be a nationwide first for the country’s domestic wine industry.

According to Changyu, the platform is designed to trace every step of the wine-making and sales processes, including planting, brewing, distribution and management. It will issue a unique traceable certificate for each bottle of wine it produces.

The whole process will be recorded on the blockchain network. The firm’s bottles’ scannable QR codes would allow consumers to verify the authenticity of the wine. The QR code will also present a whole set of data like plantation information of the grape types, origins, rainfall levels, temperature information among other things.

The blockchain network will reportedly help distributors and sales outlets to catch counterfeit bottles and to identify bottles that have failed quality-control tests.

As Cointelegraph previously reported, Symbol from NEM makes blockchain solutions to solve wine tampering and counterfeiting problems to save millions for the wine industry.

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / How can blockchain help amidst the pandemic? on: July 29, 2020, 05:38:41 AM
Because of the pandemic, everyone is almost going digital and we're more prone to cyber-crime, fraud, and possibly scams.

Blockchain technology being seen as a trusted record, a ledger that can never be cheated on, can possibly solve these issues for most of the people. This type of verification also has many other applications, such as making it trivial to verify IDs, university degrees, memberships, and authenticity of artwork or goods. Client apps have already been developed to make these kinds of verification free and easy using web browsers, mobile apps, or desktop apps.

Can blockchain technology be a solution to solve all these crimes that may happen because of the new pandemic reality?
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEM (XEM) Marks Improvement Amidst Volatility on: July 25, 2020, 02:03:12 PM
Great news! I love how $NEM made its comeback and this news made it pretty good! I hold a $NEM and a bunch of Cardano. I think a combination of these two, with the ETH 2.0 news coming out will make them successful.
48  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Fiat is a three way multi-sig virtual currency. on: July 23, 2020, 01:30:36 PM
Multi-sig has been a discussion that I've seen on different areas and I think it is really beneficial. There is doubt with fiat because banks still kinda control and hold your money, but an example of multi-sig in the blockchain space is Symbol which accounts can be converted to multisig.

From that moment on, the multisig account cannot announce transactions by itself. A multisig cosignatory has to propose a transaction involving the multisig, wrapping it in an AggregateTransaction.
To record the transaction in the block, the other cosignatories will have to agree.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of blockchain-based enterprises: Pluggable private network? on: July 20, 2020, 01:09:05 PM
One of the things that hinder businesses and major corporations to start using blockchain technology is the integration part. Even on the crypto side, these cryptocurrencies are unable to handle a large number of transactions in a fast and efficient way. Visa is handling from 2000 to 4000 transactions per second, PayPal - close to 450 transactions per second. While crypto has lower figures in that department.

The newly launched Symbol network will launch to create public-private hybrid deployment by syncing with the NIS1 publish chain. While Symbol, the enterprise-ready network, will function as the private plugin, the community-led and -validated NIS1 chain will operate as an ever-strong public network.

Will this pluggable private network/blockchain attract more businesses to enter the blockchain space?

I'd say the easier the more likely that these big players will start using blockchain. I think what they're doing is to create a public-private hybrid deployment by syncing with the existing NIS1 publish chain.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tagging your products on the blockchain for traceability. on: July 19, 2020, 11:33:05 AM
Has anyone tried using blockchain tech to check a tangible product's traceability and how is it effective?

I've honestly haven't tried one yet but I do believe that blockchain can excel in that area, considering that no one can just fake things here. LuxTag does that for tangible products to make sure that it's legit and they are using Symbol blockchain to keep things streamlined and cost-effective. Very interesting that they can maintain their branding/app name and still use all the benefits of Symbol too.
https://symbolplatform.com/latest/a-deep-dive-into-businesses-using-symbol-luxtag

Can this be applied to ALL industries? Ecommerce, Food, Jewelry, etc.?

It can be applied yes. Blockchain revolutionizes the way that we prove certain things are legit, and really solves a lot of existing issues with cybercrime, etc.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Identity Features in blockchain technology. Has anyone tried it already? on: July 07, 2020, 07:41:31 AM
Check out this article that featured companies using the identity layer feature of blockchain technology - https://gomedici.com/22-companies-leveraging-blockchain-for-identity-management-and-authentication

In Switzerland, a privacy-centric, regulatory compliant blockchain recently announced that their Testnet 2 is already live and it has their "game-changing" identity features which will make businesses want to implement this technology.

Anyone here who has tried it? And how impactful is identity-feature/ID-layer at the protocol level for businesses and major corporations?
52  Economy / Economics / Re: Cannabis company in Colombia using blockchain for their crops. on: July 06, 2020, 01:47:07 PM
(Enabling cannabis growers to trace their crop from seed to sale). Together for its management & compliance platform, ensuring confidence in the quality of medical cannabis & adherence to government regulations.
.
.
.

What does it take for companies to use blockchain technology more?

First of all I am not sure how are they going to do the tracing thing if they are not able to do it in the real world with real resources being so handy. Let's not forget narcos, wolf, Marco Polo and more uncountable personalities who did it even when things were tighter on regulations side.

So my back question is what things they are going to put on blockchain so as to make it untraceable transaction?

I felt for a seconds that underworld might just hire some IT guys and use blockchain technology for their anonymous business. This act of cannabis company can actually give more ideas to such people around the world. Lolz.

I think their goal is being able to trace where the crop came from. From the actual seed, to the time where it's already being sold. The management platform sits on Symbol blockchain, which allows for the registration and tracking of each cannabis strain, ensuring confidence in the quality of medical and recreational cannabis and also adherence to government regulations.
53  Economy / Economics / Cannabis company in Colombia using blockchain for their crops. on: July 06, 2020, 06:01:22 AM
With legislation paving the way for legalization of cannabis across the world, a Cannabis company based in Colombia is using blockchain to learn about the future of traceability in their crop (Enabling cannabis growers to trace their crop from seed to sale). Together for its management & compliance platform, ensuring confidence in the quality of medical cannabis & adherence to government regulations.

They're working closely with Symbol from NEM and their blockchain to maximize its functionalities of rapid technological implementation, simplicity in its learning and robustness in its design and architecture. It has both dedicated enterprise chain features and all decentralization features to target the market cap too and increase it's token value moving along.

With more people getting anxiety issues during this pandemic, CBD has risen up its sales and this can be the future of blockchain technology being used.

What does it take for companies to use blockchain technology more?
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is cost-reduction attractive enough for businesses to use blockchain? on: July 05, 2020, 12:51:35 PM
In an uncertain economy when every penny counts, even the smallest increase in revenue or reduction in expenses can have an impact on company profitability. It's often simple, common sense steps that improve the bottom line, especially for a small business.

Recently, Symbol from NEM will allow businesses to tap into a next generation blockchain ecosystem that helps to reduce costs, while also maintaining the highest levels of speed, efficiency, security and flexibility. Features such as Consensus Mechanism, customization and flexibility, etc. The good thing is that it retains the community focus and character of decentralization that NEM has become renowned for, therefore making their new token (XYM) to reach great potential.

As we approach mid-year, this is a good time to step back and have these businesses look carefully with their practices. Is this the perfect time to get them introduced to blockchain technology?
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain is very faithful on: July 05, 2020, 11:39:57 AM
This technology is the solution to many problems that individuals, companies, and businesses face. Blockchain can solve transaction fees, and speed everything up from their respective systems. It's just a matter of understanding the risk, and if it's compatible with their existing API, etc. There's a project by NEM that helps smooths business friction, increasing the flow of data and innovation to supercharge the creation, exchange and protection of assets. XYM (their token) will surely be valuable as they progress, it's hard to not to believe in them too since NEM is successful in its own terms.

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Expected price of an airdrop token if it came from a major project? on: July 04, 2020, 03:31:47 PM
Maybe the airdrop token will not have much value right now, but if the project is good and can survive at this moment, I think when the market can back to the recovery time, that project can increase higher, and the airdrop token will also have a place to increase. Let's wait for more, and hopefully, the airdrop can have a good price later in the next bull run.

I couldn't see any reasons for an airdrop tokens to reach to an overwhelming price, because based on previous experience I had it could only generate a short term demand. Price might collapse suddenly when trading investors including the hunters will dump their assets. Don't expect too much from an airdrop, they'll just making promises of a huge project but unfortunately telling impossible stories which isn't coinciding to reality.

That's correct, being that its not very likely for an altcoin that came from an airdrop to reach the top 10's in CMC but if it does come from a very successful project (which is NEM from the OP), it is possible, but it needs to pull everything off perfectly.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Symbol and NEM are tools that provide solutions even to the most common problems on: July 04, 2020, 03:25:14 PM
NEM has the “best designed” blockchain as far as I'm concerned and this is why applications are starting to be built on top of it. I don't know what happened with their NIS-1 (I heard that they changed teams, but IDK), but if there's a token underneath them, then it's most likely to succeed.

As far as I know, the same team from NIS-1 is behind Symbol, but I'm not entirely sure.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Symbol and NEM are tools that provide solutions even to the most common problems on: July 04, 2020, 03:04:52 PM
There's so many cryptocurrencies out there let's say Bitcoin because it amounts the value of gold for one. Still, one might choose to buy or support that currency merely because of (a) the value it brings you (b) the very idea of the currency which makes it really valuable.

But it is possible for me to support a currency because of its practicality to solve common problems we usually encounter, and yes that is possible. I myself own NEM because of that reason and now they've created a new platform that compliments them which is called Symbol (XYM).

It's main purpose is to make it everything easier let's say if you use Symbol's aggregate transaction for the “troublesome” work of pre-collecting membership fees for company banquets (year-end party, new year party, welcome and farewell party, etc.) that the secretary performs, that burden will be reduced.

It's simple enough for me tbh, if that provides actual solutions and is applicable then that is something worth backing up.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / DAI Circulating Supply Reach less than 160M on: July 03, 2020, 10:06:44 AM

The circulating supply of DAI is less than 160M. However, 500M DAI tokens are now deposited in Compound.

This contradictive reality exists because DAI is being borrowed not for usage in trades. Instead, borrowers are transferring DAI to new wallets to re-lend DAI they borrowed.

Borrowers are essentially lending DAI to themselves over and over.
60  Other / Serious discussion / How can we convince businesses to use blockchain tech? on: July 02, 2020, 08:50:22 PM
Blockchain technology is already starting to intrigue companies, from their CEO's, dev & tech team, etc. As the digital world evolves, the more these businesses should start thinking about leveling up their existing system.

The security token sector has been predicted to potentially become a trillion dollar market, and established financial institutions are now taking an active interest in blockchain-enabled solutions. The technological foundations that does these things like XYM from the NEM Foundation as an example, may allow the project to target high-opportunity ventures.

There are solutions for a wide range of companies that require a secure, reliable, and highly efficient blockchain network that continues to innovate and break new boundaries.

So the question is, what hinders them from using it?
