It would be pretty nice of you if it was done Relnarien, I don't see why anyone would object if the blockchain would be the same (noone loses any coins) and no spec is changed either

Friendly reminder that PND is the fairest proof-of-stake coin because it had a 95 days proof-of-work phase for the distribution of the coins.

If you dont know pandacoin (PND), get to know it now! You can mine it indirectly through a multipool that mine other coins and sell them for PND -> http://multi.pandapool.info/

Check pnd4pnd.com as well. While you are still here, help out by asking the bitcointalk staff to forbid IPO and premine scam threads, and to lift the ban from pandacoin-official for offering to help victims of scams.

Thank you and the other two who replied

Is staking working fine? I'm using v0.9.1.5x11-coin-1.0 (05-28-2014rc1), wallet unlocked and saying I am minting, always with expect time to reward between a few hours or some minutes, yet I never received any stake in these nearly 2 days

Here is the latest wallet, please see the first page:

I'm very interested to hear ideas from people. I am now looking to spend the majority of my time on Hirocoin as I intend to raise our profile for when the Scrypt ASICs hit. There is going to be a lot of people pulling funds out of Scrypt coins and I want to be on the investors radar. If anyone has a bright idea that I can develop to put us on the map then please let me hear it.

received Wink

I love this coin for it's devs and it's comunity. As it has already been said, PND has been through a lot, and has always come out victorious, it'd survive a nuclear war if there was one.

For my part, I'm developing a service exclusive to PND, which you can find here: 1dash.net

It's a user defined dashboard. What this means is that, instead of having data thrown at you, you choose what data you want to see, and the layout with which you want to see them. It's designed with ease of use in mind, you can just drag&drop and resize your panels whichever way you like. Think iGoogle for cryptos.

There is some functionality already and more is being added at times, so it can already be useful. There are Charts for various cryptos (both Price and Depth) from Swisscex, MintPal, Kraken and Priceofdoge, Multicharts, Twitter, BitcoinTalk, Notes and Countdowns. The latest panel includes stats for mining at the PND/DOGE multipool.

Please keep in mind that it's still in beta, so there will be bugs, but the fixes are coming in almost daily, and you're welcome to try it out.
There has been lots of things going on the backend lately, so there's not much new features, but the backend work is almost done, so I can get back to what I like doing most.

In the meantime, the faucet has been reactivated. You can quench your PND thirst at 1dash.net/faucet

Have fun!

One of the most enduring coins I have seen, dev is still working on the coin.
If a nuclear war happen, PND will survive it.

Well said.

Any dev activity for this coin?

No, everything works as expected. What do you think should be implemented?

This for example : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339.msg6560809#msg6560809

would be great

FaSan

This is a not a problem, it's easy to recompile with new OpenSSL (1.0.1g 7 Apr 2014), anyway SSL HeartBleed fix not so important because bitcoin based coin doesn't use OpenSSL vulnerable functions.

I recompile the Windows version with this fix, Windows installer and release notes you can find here:
https://github.com/testzcrypto/Animecoin/releases/tag/0.8.3.2

Let's me know if everybody need the Mac version.

All rest "X11 algo, with PoW and PoS" this is something which community should decide.
Personally I don't see the reason to change algo to X11.

Thank you, that clarifies a lot.
I do have a small issue though, here the ANI wallet consumes an unusual amount of cpu while it syncs though, and takes longer to sync compared to most wallets as well. I have the same problem with another abandoned wallet, RBBT. All other wallets I have used, which may very well be 20 I have no such problem, so I assume that ANI (and RBBT) had some bug that was fixed by all non-abandoned altcoins, I wonder if someone capable can track it down

You may want to update your first post with a premine information, thousands of blocks already mined...

What is the current wallet version? And is it the one linked in the original post?

so, did ani-chan come back during this month? was the wallet updated?
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMS > Proof-Of-Chain > @AGX.io on: May 25, 2014, 11:30:32 PM
From which date was the data dump? I only have one btc private key from a multibit wallet that held different amounts of btc in the recent past, but unfortunately importing it to the CLAM wallet didnt yield any CLAM, so I guess the data dump was made before I received btc on this address

How did you do this?

first make sure you understand that you shouldnt be exposing a private key to a address that still hold coins, so understand it and dtake the appropriate measures.

on multibit go tools -> export private keys

select "do not password protect" so you can read the keys in plaintext, then export it to a file, read the file in a text editor and copy the private key(s)

on CLAM go to help -> debug window -> console
importprivkey x  (where x is the private key you are importing)
restart clam and launch the wallet with the -salvagewallet argument

Is there any concrete thing being done to make HIRO more useful in the real world and thus create true value? Currently there is nothing that would make someone actually need HIRO as opposed to many other cryptocurrencies.
I'm really asking this out of legitimate interest, not to spread FUD, but let it be clear that being X11 does not count as something useful, there are dozens of other x11 coins by now and it never mattered if a random assortment of miners are coming here in the future

It is a good question, what can we do to make ourselves stick out?

I hope that some people take some solace in the fact that we just added a new unique feature in Hirocoin, the ability to import private keys from QR codes. This is a neat feature but it is niche, however it shows that we are earnest about developing Hirocoin and can stand out from the majority of coins that we see launched where the devs disappear soon after launch. In fact, as I have said before, if you are technical you can take a look at the effort put into launching this coin to see that a proper and complete job was done bringing this coin into existence more so than the other X11 coins that have some out, no offence Darkcoin, but even they forgot to do a lot of things before launch like change the alert keys, pchMessageStart, PROTOCOL_VERSION and so on. I helped out Darkcoin with this and added the makekeypair command so that Evan could generate new alert keys to avoid picking up alert from Litecoin. The point is that no one puts the effort that we have put into Hirocoin if we were not intending to be committed to its longevity.

So what do we do from here?

It is not easy to find the killer application for Hirocoin. Let's make sure that we are at least the best of breed. So if anyone sees a good feature elsewhere in crypto bring my attention to it as we want to have all the good features that are available. As for more unique features I think we need ideas on this front. The easy thing to do is keep up-to-date with Bitcoin by moving to the latest code base. I've not had much interest on moving to the 0.9 codebase but it is on my agenda anyway.

Let's not only move to the latest code base and take the best but let's find other unique features to develop. The fact is that Bitcoin does what the majority of other coins offer, what needs to happen to secure our longevity and market success is find an area to move into that Bitcoin cannot follow. Something that for whatever reason Bitcoin would not be interested in being used for. If we can find an area to segment into and then rule it then that is how we win long term.

To start with we set ourselves to exist in a GPU only segment. So that all of those GPU miners who have to find another solution have one in us. Darkcoin is doing very well but as said before they have the inverse difficulty reward. So the more people that mine Darkcoin the lower the reward. This makes for an odd inflation model and one would guess that this is a indirect bid for scarcity. We have no such feature so hope to be a better choice for miners. We are yet to see the true impact of Scrypt ASICs but that time is coming soon. I remember well what the impact of SHA-256 ASICs had for Litecoin when the GPU miners had to migrate. Litecoin went from 2 cents to several dollars and never looked back. There is only a couple of months now before we will see the Scrypt ASICs come out, it is going to be a very interesting time.

If you know of a good feature or have in your mind a feature that does not yet exist then please let me know. We can make this happen and for new features it can happen with Hirocoin first like the import QR code feature. I am optimistic about what Hirocoin will be able to achieve long term.

Thank you for your reply, it made clear to me that you are still interested and have a vision backed by simple and straightforward logic that I dont disagree with.

>So if anyone sees a good feature elsewhere in crypto bring my attention to it as we want to have all the good features that are available.
A feature that a lot of people care about, both for personal reasons and for commerce seem to be anonymity of transactions, the coins whose community AND value grew most recently were DRK, XC and the cryptonote coins, all who offer or intend to offer this feature. So my suggestion would be to incorporate it on HIRO, you are the developer so you are the one to decide how it should be done, but apparently mixing based in trustless nodes like XC or ring signatures like the CN coins (monero, bytecoin, boolberry) are viewed as superior to the masternodes approach from DRK, though DRK also promises to implement a better solution in a next version.

After that, it would be great if some general purpose service like a marketplace only accepted HIRO as a currency, if developed by the same team behind HIRO it would give it trust since HIRO is considered to be carefully developed. Or a good start would be if existing general purpose services dealed with HIRO, though that would be less effective in attracting adapters (both buyers and miners) than something HIRO exclusive

>they need your private keys to give you the clams

but you can remove your btc and etc to another wallet before using your private key (of a now empty wallet) to get your clams, clams were awareded based on a previous data of the blockchain, its a not a thing that will be done on runtime

>And they tell you to put your entire wallet.dat folder into their program

that's not true, you didnt understand the original post at all, granted its a complicated idea indeed at first glance.

Well for starters the details are encrypted to protect identifiable information and no we are not using ring sig's at this time, that is for the next release.

Thats extremely vague, I believe people are asking you to describe the design of how anonymization is to work in XC
you want him to run commentary at every ones command, or you want him to deliver a quality product FFS!

I want him to describe how the software will achieve anonymization, the efforts of the other coins promising this are well documented.
