How can I clone the block database? Setup a new VPS take 5minutes to download blocks Sad

I think there're no GPU or ASIC mining XPM right now. People are mining with ton of VPS. If you can find a good deal, mining is profitable at price 0.003

can i mine this without running the wallet?
yes, run the primecoind instead. remember to edit the conf file add: gen=1

Actually, primecoind also runs the wallet (you can execute transactions using its RPC interface) but it does not have a GUI.
If that's what was meant by "without running the wallet" everything is fine :-)

Onkel Paul

i dont know how to run the primecoind and how to edit conf, do i have to make my own conf u mean because i dont see any in prime coin directory , i have to c2duo e8200 want to run them automatically when i start the computer without opening the wallet, can somebody help me about this conf thing thanks.

That's a big bug, I see, the price precision is not enough, so the  2.480001 overwrite 2.48. I hated Mt.Gox, at the first design I was following Mt.Gox rule which is limit to 5 digest precision, that's totally wrong way. The volume is not affected, the trade history is not accurate, but it seems not big problem, up to 0.00001 errors. I will try redesign the database.
The issue has been solved.

Its been really sad to see it drop so fast....

I hope its truly just a few with open CL miner or something.  It's not looking promising long term atm.
If you can find a 16core VPS for $12.5/week. 16core produce ~3-4 block/day. Let's take 3.5 * 13 = 45.5 XPM * 0.002 = 0.091BTC = $7.826 a day. After 2 days then your profit.

But with that reward and price lower every minute, adventurous Roll Eyes

Anyone using latest update from github on linux? My PPS back to normal before this thread, but my windows doesn't (10x faster)?

Yes, I am using the latest update from github on a couple of linux boxes. My PPS number went down between from ~2000 PPS (hp1) to ~1500 PPS (hp2) per box, and none of the linux boxes have found a block yet on either hp release.

According to this thread, I believe the hp2 build should find more blocks even though it has a lower PPS number versus hp1.

My windows was 2k after hp1. Then 2k with hp2, too.
But my linux was around 5k PPS after hp1. Then hp2 it back to 1k , just like yesterday.

I don't know why linux build is different from windows???

anyone has normal PPS on linux?

So there will not have performance in PPS? you are about performance in blocks Roll Eyes

I have released my optimized version of the Primecoin client:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=255782.0

Any1 who understands from code checked it? account at sourceforge.ne created 2 hours ago.
It seems to be working, and giving high PPS, but I'm not sure if that equals to more blocks found.

here is something I read on reddit that scared me:
"Well without too much technicality, the custom miners can steal your wallet.dat which stores your Prime Coins, addresses, and private keys. Along with that, they can change the code to give you a higher, false PPS rate leaving you to believe that it works better but in the end, it's only mining for the creator.

So what most people suggest is running the custom miner in a VM for sometime and see what happens. If all goes smooth and nothing bad happens, it's probably safe to run it on your actual OS, not the VM. Another thing that is recommended is to always read the code (i.e. on github) to see if there's something fishy. You don't have to understand all of it, but if you think something is fishy then don't use it. "
idk about stealing wallet but got 1 block since using it.
