41  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! Opened! Almost there! on: April 27, 2013, 04:22:59 AM
Sweet! Less QQ more pew pew! Lets get this order in guys! Send them bitcoins!

What does this even mean ? Also why do you mention "Please do not make me regret this decision!" - what is there to regret ? Either we get full before Ataxx, or Ataxx comes in and fills the rest. Please clarify.

I'm going with the crowd. Ataxx is seems like a really powerful friend to have. He is buying 206 btc with cash just like that. He owns and operates city.com and has a lot of influence and friends in high places. Seems like a very resourceful and trustworthy guy. I meant that by opening and letting more btc fill up he will be able to buy less so I hope he's not too mad about that. Because originally he wanted in for at least 100 btc.

All operations a go! Lets get on the train again! Choo Choo!

How long have you known Ataxx?  I hate to point out that he was just in newbie jail a few days ago.

I'm fairly sure that if he does not reopen this thread and stay true to his word, this whole thing is going to fall to pieces.

I will step in if that happens and handle distribution. Messaging JohnK right now to see about verifying my identity with him. If raginazn pulls through, great. But I'm not about to let this all fall apart.

I agree with you and have my support

Mine as well. +1 for ryepdx

Can we get a general trajectory from everyone who hasn't read up on the current thread by noon pacific tomorrow?  That should be plenty of time for the world to respond to this series of events.

I have put together a list of key stakeholders, which I have defined as people who own more than 2% of the buy.  These people corresponded to 75% of the BTC stake last night.  If you are a key stakeholder and not on the list, let me know.  I used a spreadsheet which hasn't had cost updated for a day.

Key Stakeholders:

RagingAzn628, Rallye, freeworm, alle.sello, sveetsnelda, aceat64, Bicknellski, Immuzikation, atcsecure, Egon, spinner, ryepdx, CoinHoarder, Kushedout, spanishfry, dserrano5, flowdab

ryepdx please campaign among these stakeholders by PM, not forum post, so we aren't gumming up new contributions to hit our goal.

JohnK can we have a moratorium on the purchase until noon PST tomorrow if we hit our goal?

Can we all also discuss credentials that the receiver should have to provide to JohnK.

I woke just now to this mess again.   Angry Why does the drama always take part when I'm absent?

My take on this:

As what I said last time, this is a first come first serve group buy due to the fact that people always seem to be pulling out in the last minute and delaying everything. Whoever's funds come first will get the space in hand, period.

Wrenchmonkey, this is an endorsement to send the coins, regardless of OP. They will be in escrow for now.

Lets wait for ragingazn628 to come back online and see what he has to say.  I'm fairly sure that if he does not reopen this thread and stay true to his word, this whole thing is going to fall to pieces.  But until then, let's all calm down.  We wouldn't want anyone pulling out prematurely due to becoming extremely nervous over the direction that this thread is headed.

Well we got 100 btc in the last 24 hours and I see no reason we can't close the remaining amount even faster.

The agreement was that we save no spaces, I think we should remain first come - first served.

I don't like the fact that we are relying on one person to pay such a large amount to save this thing.  Shouldn't others have a chance to get in on this if they have their bitcoins ready to go?

Seconded. Ataxx needs to fight the clock on this, we can't trust a person with no forum reputation to come through on $12,000+.

All aboard the awesome train! Choo choo motherfuckers, 90 BTC to go!
50  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as Escrow! Send coins to confirm! on: April 26, 2013, 06:29:39 AM
hi guys, hopefully i'm not too late to get in on this. is the actual cost 12.76 chips per BTC or is there anything additional i should add on? i'd just like to do 30 or so, if possible.

Click the spreadsheet in the first post, there's still space!  The more BTC contributed, the better! Know any friends?  There are around 2000+ chips left.

For all those wishing to create a deadline!

Please vote promptly in response to this message, so we can have a full process creating this!

Ok to deadline of Apr 29th 23:59 UTC. If Ataxx cash transaction goes smoothly, he/she should have the coins in a few hours tops so Monday is more than enough. Although it worries me a little about the pressure on John to return all coins as quick as possible.

We can populate the form with return addresses so he has an easy time.

I know he already has his own controlled payment tracker, and he will still get his very nice fee.  If he has 24 hours, that seems good. He'll be able to multiply all payments by 99% and send that amount back.

John, please let us know if you feel you need more than 24 hours to return funds, so we can pull back the deadline accordingly.

I honestly don't know why you're trying to take over the thread. I know you're trying to help but honestly you're just stirring up more anxiety for people. It's their BTC so it will be their decision. If you want out just be out.

I personally think we need to at least wait until Ataxx's final outcome would be. If he does not manages to get any BTC and we need to wait longer and you feel like you want your BTC then ask for it back. We don't have to return everyone's BTC. We only return if you want out of the group buy. I just want best for everyone and that is to push for that 100% BTC sent to Escrow so we can finally pre-order.

It was very unfortunate that a few parties with 50+ BTC pulled out last minute when we have enough pledges to start sending to Escrow. That was the MAJOR problem. I was extremely pissed about that because it pretty much messed everything up.

Finally got a demo site up. I feel really good about it Wink

http://neo-asics.com/

Let's get these chips pre-ordered so we can move on to brainstorming about building housing for the chips.

Again if you are fully committed with the group buy then stay until the very end. If you feel like you need to pull out and put your BTC else where then feel free to do so. I ain't go anywhere!

Like I said, literally just setting expectations, not trying to stir negative emotions.  People want in but they want to know there is an coordinated exit if there need be, or they won't join in.

Alright, here are the terms and the progress tracker on yes/no: http://goo.gl/SO1E4 (spreadsheet)

Please publicly state PM me PRIVATE MESSAGE your vote on these deadline terms in response to this.

We don't want to flood the thread with negativity, we just want an organized plan. So don't reply to this post.

In no way is this deadline to indicate anything negative at all, except the people will have an option if they want their BTC back promptly after 5 PM PST on Monday April 29th (end of business day)!

The best case scenario is that we fill these remaining BTC ASAP!!!  Smiley
54  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as Escrow! Send coins to confirm! on: April 26, 2013, 01:26:49 AM
You are correct, John.
It is Labor day... and it is a 3 day event.
I originally thought that it BEGAN on May 1, but this year it begins Monday 4/29.

In light of the Labor Day National Holidays, I vote that Avalon receives our order Sunday at the latest.
BitSymCom should be reached to see if they will be in office on what we call 'the weekend'.

Avalon has given the other group buy a promise of honoring up to May 1 0000 UTC in the upcoming production run, so the rationale is to make our return deadline 24 hours before this.
55  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as Escrow! Send coins to confirm! on: April 26, 2013, 01:12:26 AM
Woohoo good work OP -

Alright everyone - I have put together an excel document that will allow us to vote on the deadline, but I want some input on what a reasonable deadline is. I know the goal of the deadline is to get in before the deadline for the other group buy.

The deadline for the other group buy is zero hour zulu time may 1, which basically translates to April 30th 23:59:59 UTC, 2013.

I propose our deadline be 24 hours before this to give John K 24 hours to distribute BTC if we fail to hit the total.  That would be a deadline of April 29th 23:59:59 UTC, 2013.  For easy conversion, that means we would have all BTC in by Monday, April 29th 5 PM Pacific Daylight time, giving everyone until the end of the business day Monday.

Can I get some concensus on this deadline or discussion on anything that needs changing? I will commute home and reply to this thread during, and I will post the full discourse and excel document tracking votes after 11 PM EDT.

edit: for the record, this proposal includes giving JohnK his 1% escrow either way for his hard work.
56  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as Escrow! Send coins to confirm! on: April 26, 2013, 12:38:49 AM
I can't seem to find the conversion rate for the exact amount. What is the exact amount of btc per chip, including shipping and fees? I'm needing 30 of 'em, and I need to hit up bit instant ASAP.  Grin

There is an exact base amount per chip listed in the top post.   It also specifies a specific 0.035 shipping fee for Avalon to the states, and the multiplier for each fee.  If you go over a little bit, John K will record the extra and it will go towards your shipping from Conneticut. Or, I assume it could be refunded later by OP.
57  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as Escrow! Send coins to confirm! on: April 26, 2013, 12:35:47 AM

Alright, we need a bigger push to get these chips in.

I want to ask two things:

(1) OP - can you put your personal stake in?  I know you are waiting on partners but everyone will rest easier when your money is up.

(2) Ataxx seems like a nice guy, but he's very new on this forum.  We need to start closing out the remaining 200 BTC of stake.

That said, I propose we work to close out the outstanding 198 BTC through any purchaser available.

I will have an agreement for everyone to vote for or against for a deadline for the escrow tonight, so make sure to sign in later!

Remember, the deadline is to protect your bitcoins so that you can put your money down now with a guarantee that you will get it back should these 200 BTC not materialize at least 24 hours before the ship date for Avalon's large order in Germany.  This is to create options for people who bought in in good faith that this would materialize quickly, and as such the deadline will create safety for those still wishing to contribute.
58  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as Escrow! Send coins to confirm! on: April 25, 2013, 11:10:25 PM
Wow, I'm late to this party. I'm interested in 30 chips, but I don't know how long it will take to buy bitcoins, and get them transfered, as I've never done that before. Is there still a snowball's chance in hell of me getting some of these?  Huh

If you do so before the next Tues/ Wed that is. Ataxx expects his order for coins via a local bitcoiner to go through before or by then and will be sweeping up the rest of this group buy.

Alright, I am going to have to call shenanigans on this timeline.  Friday was acceptable. I will set a specific time and call/track an actual vote to return funds by a specific time later today unless someone has the time to write it up.  I think the criteria should be majority of BTC, so you vote your weight in BTC. I only have 1 BTC in so we will need to contact the major contributors.

lets get this thing thru before the next zephir batch ! Cheesy

+1  -- There is still space available everyone! And this is an escrow Tx so your precious BTCs aren't going to go poof.

Hey Ataxx,

I have also contributed on that thread and am trying to figure out a realistic deadline before it is cancelled - how long do you anticipate until you are ready to commit your BTC, and how much is your total contribution?
