41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where is Bobby Lee? on: April 16, 2017, 01:32:00 PM
I will just add another thing which potentially will not make sense:
As far as I am aware, Bobby Lee makes business with Brock Pierce. I shouldn't add anything else, but I am sure Mr Pierce is also not particularly keen on having a business partner who plays around with insider trade.

From  my perspective:
There is no way that Bobby Lee and LTC can pull this off.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins to follow in next months [2017] on: April 16, 2017, 01:29:15 PM
You covered SYS already. I have a good feeling about it actually.

Other than that, I read KOMODO here a few times. And not from noob accounts like myself, but rather vet users.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: April 16, 2017, 01:02:48 PM
Well XRP has been heavily pumped a few weeks ago, right?

Question must be (in optimistic version):
- How far can it go until end of this month?
- Why will it go there?

I am undecided at the moment. If this brutal push wouldn't have been there I would say: sure moon, urAnus or which ever dimensions, but now?

You can not call that brutal push imho, XRP was very, very undervalued (around 600 satoshi in march) considering on all assets they own and media they run. I do not expect any dramatic change this month, it might grow up to 3100-3200. I suspect another rise starting from end of May, where a lot of events will be in place (https://ripple.com/events/) up to end of June. I think it can be very good time to go to somewhere 3.5-5k.

XRP is a long term and so far stable currency with big vision and ambitious, do not expect it explode, expect it to be developed.

Ok, I rectify my statement. Let's call it a positive adjustment. However, it was still quite impressive for a coin like XRP (with already existing reputation etc).
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where is Bobby Lee? on: April 16, 2017, 12:55:15 PM
No offense my man, but who cares if you give a fuck? At the end of the day, LTC will not further jeopardize its reputation as they are in for the end-game. As one of the last remaining early-mover coins, soon even be fiat-traded at Coinbase. There are bigger things going on right now as "short term push push but we need it nau!!1".

Just my opinion.
You make no sense. How does a miner signaling more hashing power to segwit jeopardize its reputation?

Do you realize Litecoin is an useless bitcoin clone without segwit right? the only thing that can make LTC have any realistic chances of ever hitting an ATH again is with segwit and we better get it soon because the more this things get delayed the more impossible it becomes (see bitcoin)

I might not know crypto well, but I know business. And in business you don't publicly ask your relatives to help on pushing your product when your main goal is to establish your product permanently with the big boys.
Going a step further: it isn't LTC alone anymore. Now whatever happens will come down to Coinbase too. Not sure how how they react to something which is in "non crypto" world known as insider trade. I imagine Coinbase has some pretty fragile finance regulations to oblige to.

But yeah, there is a chance I don't get crypto.

At OP:
Didn't you recently ragequit LTC?
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where is Bobby Lee? on: April 16, 2017, 12:34:06 PM
I remember reading that Bobby Lee (brother of Charlie Lee, creator of Litecoin) has enough hashing power to activate segwit. With the extra hashrate, Jihan Wu would need to put extra money in trying to block segwit in Litecoin, so the more hashrate we have signaling segwit in LTC the better.

I just wonder why he isn't signaling segwit yet?

I am new to crypto. But from what I can tell (personal opinion): firstly saying not sure if they are related but if, i think this might jeopardize the doubtworthy integrity of LTC even more. Don't get me wrong. I am fan of LTC. But now that the "public" already is aware that LTC is quite depending on a few Chinese dudes, that would maybe the last nail on its coffin?

Where do we stand on SYS and BCY?
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Chickening? on: April 14, 2017, 01:47:48 PM
Could we be witnessing the beginning of The Flippening Chickening? Litecoin already sitting on a $350 million market cap.  If things go sour with BTC/BTU then litecoin could offer the most similar alternative that is waiting for development.  I mean this thing was at $48 once as I recall. How ironic would it be if everyone's favorite punching bag LTC eventually ended up with the #1 market cap.

It will become the silver to Bitcoin's gold, so at most 1/5 of Bitcoin's market. Probably top out at 1/10 or roughly $100.

Don't be late.

According to your other posts you have turned your back on LTC now?
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sleeping giant is awakening?? LTC back to $50 now ?? on: April 12, 2017, 11:36:54 AM
FYI, I took profits on this surge and wait to buy back again later, because I think actually attain activation is going to take at least 2 weeks and probably longer.

In the meantime, I have bought ETH. It is in a descending wedge pattern that is going to close within 24 hours. It looks like it has to break to the upside. Perhaps Ethereum will make some announcement on the Raiden (LN clone) upgrade coming. Looks like they will beat Litecoin to having a rudimentary beta of off chain scaling.

Insane volatility, but a great time to make money day trading. I sold ETH at a profit and reentered LTC before the wedge breakout!

Would you say that both, LTC and ETH, are great to buy in now and keep until end of the year?
Btw, thanks for the anonymous PM paste. Smiley))
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 30BTC portfolio on: April 12, 2017, 09:18:59 AM
I. Pillar I would like to go into ETH and keep until end of this year. Maybe some occasional shorting, but I would like to stay long on that pillar. Potentially the timing will be bad, as the dip in BTC will potentially not come until mid of this month when the "big ETH news" is about to spread.
II. Pillar I would like to go into LTC. I guess from the "big 3" (if I dare to call LTC that), it has the most growth potential among the "solid" altcoins. Not too sure again when I will be able to buy in, but if I can get them at around 0.01, I assume LTC can hit 0.1 during 2017.
May i ask what is the big news coming out of ETH and if you are aware of that please do convey so that i would think about investing in it as i do not want to miss any rally,LTC is always a sleeping giant for a very long time and with the segwit news and with the rallies of other alt coins i am seeing some movement in LTC and i hope it will have a good rally in the future.

The last few weeks, some people in Polo chat kept on referring to news around 14th April. I dont know what.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2017 and WHY !!! on: April 12, 2017, 09:12:10 AM
I think today is going to be a very good one for alt trading - volatility seems huge - LTC is up, ETH and DASH are down and getting towards reaccumulation levels, and Magi (XMG) profits are through the roof.

I think this week will be good for ETH!
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sleeping giant is awakening?? LTC back to $50 now ?? on: April 10, 2017, 09:15:49 AM
The volume is extremely high but it is not a panic waterfall collapse. That to me is very bullish. It indicates to me the smart money is trying enter at the lowest price they can before the next blast off.
I hope so. and i guess we will find out soon enough.
right now price is 0.0076BTC for litecoin on polonix and that is about $9.24 with $1217 bitcoin price taken from bitfinex.

Nearly all the altcoins are down because the market is confused and thinks that Blockstream has defeated Jilian Wu's BU, but I expect BTC is topping out at $1200 (range bound as I predicted many days ago) once the market realizes that this BS about SegWit signaling on Bitcoin gaining momentum is nonsense. Bitcoin will never get scaling. The market will digest this, Bitcoin will stumble and Litecoin will rocket up.
nearly all altcoins are down because their pumping period ended. and after a pump a dump comes. in other words when a price goes up fake and fast it enters a bubble and bubbles always burst and price comes down and it only speeds up at some point.

and nobody cares about the names like Juhan Wi or whatever you kids throw around these days. that is a fight between two parties over who takes the power and we are all sick and tired of it and market makers are laughing at those who fall for the bullshit while they accumulate cheap coins.

and again we will see soon enough. current price of bitcoin on bitfinex is currently at $1217

The market is stupid because Bitcoin will actually benefit from scaling on Litecoin, but the market has to go through its gyrations. In any case, my thesis is Bitcoin remains range bound until Litecoin catches up, because the charge says "It Is Just Time" and because Bitcoin can't move up until there will be scaling in the Satoshi's PoW ecosystem. Litecoin will get it, Bitcoin won't, but that it is a good thing for Bitcoin. Market doesn't realize any of this yet, but the smart money does.
SegWit on litecoin is not for scaling, it actually doesn't need scaling with the faster blocks and with ability to handle more transactions in them (although it has many downsides that i don't want to get into here).
i suggest you read the article by Charlie Lee about why SegWit is being activated on litecoin and malleability fix that SegWit is offering.

and stop with the drama of bitcoin being limited and needing fix,... it is a way too old FUD now and nobody listens anymore.

I have a very over simplified question, maybe it is borderline stupid, but forgive my ignorance:
Is't particularly BTC seen or better said planned to make its' users independent from "the man"?
Isn't the complete situation right now shaping up to be that something which was planned to give independance is actually the same ol' story that some people (whoever wants to position themselves like that, either devs or self-proclaimed spokes persons) have most of the influence over it? For me that doesn't add up. Maybe I am too new in the BTC topic, but for it it seems like that. Only that now not governments have direct impact on the oil price etc, but some angry twitter bashing dudes directly influence the complete coinmarket.

Hi Anks!

KMD seems indeed to be a good coin (speculative wise) it popped up quite often during my research.

I think it has a "doubling boost" within March/April. While it is currently going down a bit from the boost, there might be another on the horizon. Is there any word on Polo listing? At the moment, at least on Bittrex the traffic is quite low. But ever since BTC price increased, overall traffic is quite low there anyways.

57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: YOU THINK XRP WILL UP OR DOWN? on: April 10, 2017, 08:27:36 AM
Ripple had it's massive pump and exposure, what, like 2 weeks ago? As far as I remember it was the last of the "old coins" which didn't have a pump before.
I remember seeing a forum post here about exactly that.

Anyways, regarding the integration and adaptation of the coin, I think it will very slowly recover. To what level, that depends on the next point.
As far as I am aware, Ripple is the "banker's coin". This usually means, quite low acceptance within community, yet bankers usually find a way to make money on our costs. So I would not be surprised if there will be another massive boost until the end of the year, establishing it as one of the "big 3".

Will the market accept it on longterm? Industry: yes. Community: doubtworthy. But then again, how much is community worth if the big boys starts to play and boost?

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / 30BTC portfolio on: April 10, 2017, 04:33:58 AM
Hello everybody,
I plan to intensify my btc and altcoin trading in future. I would like to hear some opinions and feedback (yes, i know it's tricky here, as some people have the tendency to push their own sh!tcoins, but hey, in my country there is a saying: "only who talks can receive advice!") on my plans.

So to begin with:
I would like to buy 30-40BTC. "Unfortunately" as we are currently topping 1200$+, I will wait. Maybe it breaks resistance, but after enough study, I dare to say it will fall again. Some say 800, some say 850, I guess I would like to buy in at around 900 or 950. And ultimately going to 2000+ until the on of the year too.

Once I have the BTC, I am thinking about splitting mt portfolio into 3 main pillars:
- I. 10BTC Longterm
- II. 10BTC Longterm
- III. 10BTC Shortterm

I. Pillar I would like to go into ETH and keep until end of this year. Maybe some occasional shorting, but I would like to stay long on that pillar. Potentially the timing will be bad, as the dip in BTC will potentially not come until mid of this month when the "big ETH news" is about to spread. Anyways, I could imagine that it'll be a re-heat of the Brock Pierce fond. If my plan works, I would like to buy in at around 0.037 but as I said I guess that won't be possible. So I might be forced to buy in on much higher price. Even if I buy in at 0.05 or 0.06 I believe there will still be enough room during 2017 to sell at 0.1 to 0.15.

III. Pillar I would like to spread on 3 to 8 coins. Traditional speculation I guess. I am a lurker on this forum a while and on twitter even longer, so I know it will be quite naive to ask for some good suggestions on the spot, considering I don't know when I will own the BTC and the pace of the altcoin market. Anyways, I would still like to ask what some of you think would be a good short/midterm coin for the rest of the year. While usually the most unexpected coins get a push (well, that's their game isn't it) I reckon there are some solid coins to look out for in the near future. Any recommendations about some promising growth coins which have solid tech and anonymity features, which I estimate to be key for sustainable growth in 2017?

Hope to hear some feedback from you guys and to be able to have some discussions here as well (which according to other threads sometimes proves to be difficult!). ; )

Take care & play safe,
WDC4693
