43  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price break 1459 USD, is it too late to invest in Bitcoin? on: May 04, 2017, 02:03:01 AM
Never too late, especially if you're in for the long haul. Bitcoin isn't going anywhere but up.
so if ETH is rejected again, will the price crash?
44  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price break 1459 USD, is it too late to invest in Bitcoin? on: May 04, 2017, 01:34:16 AM
Never too late, especially if you're in for the long haul. Bitcoin isn't going anywhere but up.
so do you think we should have some investment basics first before we invest or should we buy some bitcoins first and learn later.
45  Economy / Speculation / BTC price break 1459 USD, is it too late to invest in Bitcoin? on: May 03, 2017, 10:31:55 AM
BTC price hits an eight-year high, some girls at office are wondering if they should invest in bitcoin right now. Some even want to borrow money to buy bitcoins, i don't know what to say coz i think they don't get the real significance of btc. but it is full of uncertainties in the world of bitcoin. girls could be dreamy, buy what if it is really a great chance. Anyway,i can only tell them big fishes eat smaller ones, so be careful.

46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “One Bitcoin, One House,” Nonsense or Reality? on: May 03, 2017, 01:53:47 AM
Zhao Dong, an old Bitcoin holder, suggested to those blind bitcoin investors that:
"if you do not have any knowledge of investment basics, please stay away from the Bitcoin world. You will not get rich, and you are just messing with the Bitcoin market. The fact is those people haven’t realized the real significance of Bitcoin.“ http://news.8btc.com/one-bitcoin-one-house-nonsense-or-reality
he believes that Bitcoin will become a mainstream currency, but it is and will continue to be an experimental new currency for years to come. Put simply, Bitcoin is so not ready to redefine currency.

He is right about bitcoin, but i don`t understand the meaning of "one bitcoin, one house".
Bitcoin isn`t ready to dominate the world economy and many investors think that btc is just easy profit or some Hyip.
one bitcoin, one house is a very popular expression among chinese btc investors, they believe the price of one btc will worth a house in Beijing(capital of china) in 10 years

48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Chandler Guo: An Elaborately-made PowerPoint Helps ICOs Scam Money on: April 27, 2017, 07:55:16 AM
Guo in his latest intervies jokingly said that an ICO team of several Chinese plus a foreign guy is able to scam 100 Bitcoins with a 10-slide PowerPoint and 1000 Bitcoins with . All they have is just a concept, but ironically, more virtual, more attractive, just like religion. http://news.8btc.com/chandler-guo-an-elaborately-made-powerpoint-helps-icos-scam-money
He also said it's never too late to invest in digital currencies, but just things that are taking the lion’s share of the media, never coins that no one but yourself have heard of.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Decentralization Become the Panacea? on: April 27, 2017, 01:24:45 AM
Bitcoin is not decentralized. It was designed to be decentralized at first but ASICS companies destroyed the idea. Satoshi wanted everybody with a PC to contribute to the POW system but after ASICS miners came, it became big companies' business. And there isn't even a competition left now. Bitmain killed every other company out there. So how is it decentralized?

You'll understand this when Wu's miners gang support of BU becomes >%50. Our only hope is the community now. If they choose the easy way and go after Wu, bitcoin will be another centralized piece of shit paypal copy.
since u mentioned Wu, some say he should be put in jail. He is been suspected of blocking segwit on purpose.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Decentralization Become the Panacea? on: April 27, 2017, 01:18:13 AM
But recently many programs and ponzi have popped up with the name of decentralization/blockchain which are not able to deliver anything new. Almost all of those programs are trying to scam newbies using word decentralization and blockchain.
exactly, all they have is a concept and they with that, they easily scam 100 btcs.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Has Decentralization Become the Panacea? on: April 26, 2017, 08:46:47 AM
A chinese economist recently said that" Thanks to the growing popularity of Bitcoin, the word decentralization has become the latest fashion in almost all sectors. One will simply say "it's not decentralized" to reject a project. But can decentralization guarantee success? Or have you ever seen a country truly favors decentralization? http://news.8btc.com/has-decentralization-become-the-panacea
Plus, he said unless the meaning of money is redefined, otherwise the fate of Bitcoin will remain as it is for life——an investment product。
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: April 26, 2017, 04:59:21 AM
let it go, it's not ur responsibility to tell the world btc is a good investment.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit on Litecoin, make it be used in more mainstream platforms than Bitcoin? on: April 25, 2017, 08:28:48 AM
activation of SegWit on litecoin will surely make it a better coin but it won't make it a better coin than bitcoin. litecoin is still going to be the same altcoin that copied bitcoin code and still does, and only changed to script algo and changed the block time generation to a faster one!
but the fact is in the first quarter of 2017, bitcoin prices only increased 10%. And it is suffering net congestion. and the queation is if segwit turned into a big success on litecoin, will segwit be activated on bitcoin?
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SegWit on Litecoin, prices rise, will it be a conspiracy? on: April 25, 2017, 07:56:00 AM
As Antpool and F2Pool are signaling Segwit on Litecoin, it seems that SegWit on Litecoin is just around the corner. Now 77% blocks are for Segwit and litecoin price rises to 14 USD.(http://news.8btc.com/litecoin-price-surges-200-in-a-month-as-segwit-looks-likely) Is it possible that some one uses this chance to buy up litecoin and sell them all?
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is not Ideal, it represents possibilities. on: April 24, 2017, 09:56:12 AM
Recently, a group called the Large Bitcoin Collider(LBC) claims that it is using its computing power to smash open bitcoin wallets owned by other people and potentially taking the coins inside.http://news.8btc.com/bitcoin-is-not-ideal-it-is-an-expression-of-value
That explains how bitcoin's privacy is widely misunderstood.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: less wild fluctuation? is bitcoin bemome more mature? on: April 24, 2017, 09:31:10 AM
some bitcoin enthusiasts believe that 2017 will mark a turning point for bitcoin moving closer to a safe-haven asset. They claim central banks, enterprises and countries are all tapping into the potential of Bitcoin. So maybe the bitcoin price is not performing well right now, but it is still a good thing. You can get more details, including google data here. http://news.8btc.com/bitcoin-moves-closer-to-a-safe-haven-asset-in-2017
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / less wild fluctuation? is bitcoin bemome more mature? on: April 24, 2017, 05:58:19 AM
In the first quarter of 2017, bitcoin price only increased 10%, while ETH 600% and DASH 846%. And i noticed that btc price is like going steady in the past few weeks. Is this good or bad? Does this mean it is growing into a mature investment? google also shows the bitcoin users have doubled every month since 2013. http://news.8btc.com/bitcoin-moves-closer-to-a-safe-haven-asset-in-2017
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is not Ideal, it represents possibilities. on: April 24, 2017, 05:42:50 AM
I stopped reading after you said bitcoins are anonymous. Obviously if you present false information in your  statement your whole post is going to be stupid bullshit FUD.

TD;DR, OP is going to use shitcoins for his big important purchases now. Thanks for dropping by. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
by anonymity, i only mean that's the first impression of bitcoin to many people. of course, the pseudonymous is more accurate.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / bitcoin is not Ideal, it represents possibilities. on: April 21, 2017, 10:24:19 AM
Three years ago or two years ago, if you asked me what Bitcoin is, I’d tell you it is the future of money. It is managed by the network, not by the government. Plus, it is private, anonymous and fast. It’s just perfect!
And Bitcoin is proved very successful. But it has inherent risks like anonymity, hacking,51%attack, double spending. Stop imagining bitcoin is perfect. No coins are perfect. I’d say bitcoin means more about possibilities, possibilities of expression of value. Before, I’ve been taken it for granted that the government should control currencies. But now I’d like to take a moment to think of the question:
“What is the nature and origin of money?”
by hacked, i only mean btc exchanges and by 51% Attack, i mean hash power is seen as by many the king in the btc world; and by security, Large Bitcoin Collider is working to smash open btc wallets. http://news.8btc.com/bitcoin-is-not-ideal-it-is-an-expression-of-value
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain deliberately preventing the activation of SegWit on Litecoin? on: April 21, 2017, 01:43:20 AM
A dramatic overnight increase in hashrate is taking place in Litecoin. Its hashrate increased 600G overnight on Tuesday. Its Segwit support dropped to 70%.
At the same day, Bitmain’s mining pool Antpool’s hashrate abruptly surged by around 20 percent in a period of few hours, from 200 to nearly 500 GH/S. And to add more drama, Wang Chun, owner of F2Pool, said Bitmain is working on 2X current network hashrate.
Is this coincidence or Bitmain just wants to stop SegWit on Litecoin?

Jihan Wu continues to play games with people's money. His latest antics include not delivering ASICs to customers on time, so he can use all that extra power to block segwit.

If he wasn't from China, in any developed country, he would be in jail already, since that is an obvious crime.
i wouldn't use the word "crime", since there is no sound evidence, but i am not buying Bitmain's claim, saying it's just coincidence. but no one knows excatly what's behind this drama.
