41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: February 04, 2024, 08:41:24 PM
Many people consider cryptocurrencies to be a fraudulent investment tool, while some see it as an investment that can yield quick profits by merely investing. In our country, news programs only cover cryptocurrency when someone falls victim to a scam involving it. In contrast, in other countries, developments such as the acceptance of Bitcoin as payment by a business or area are seen as positive news that deserves coverage.
That is exactly how people think about Bitcoin in my city some believe it's more like a Ponzi scheme due to it price fluctuation, some set of people never believe in any form of online or digital currency they classified it as fraud probably it's due to their lack of exposure and not knowledgeable about digital currency unfortunately some would never succumb to pressure in accepting it, they only believe in fiat thus deals with bank directly this is common among the elderly individuals, however some set of enlightened young individuals mostly youths and highly educated ones believe in crypto currencies and infact invested in it, though I believe with time there is going to be gradual adoption of crypto currencies.
It does not only happen in my country or your country, but it does happen in every land around the world. There are still individuals who do not believe that digital currency is a legitimate form of currency in today's world. They argue that since it is not a tangible asset, it will likely burst like a bubble or vanish into thin air at any moment.

Aside from having an emergency fund, it is important to have a steady job that can provide for your financial needs. While investing is a good way to grow your money, it is important to keep in mind that you cannot sell or move your investment unless you make a profit. It is also important to avoid investing money that you will need to withdraw later to pay your bills, as this can hinder the success of your investment.

most investors are forms of that investing with money they would later need to pay bills. Just a few days i came across a post on a group. Someone chatted the admin up asking him if there's any investment he could invest with his house rent that can yeild him profits over night the worse thing is that he was talking about shit coins. But to me I just see it like his joking because such act is just too childish and all that. If you are actually planning to use money that you would later need to pay some bills in investing, you would endup removing that investment at a premature state and that not longer called investing I would call that trading. So if you ready to invest you know yah leaving it for a pretty long time to yeild good profits.
It appears that individual searching for a quick profit have limited options and urgently require money. By investing in "shitcoins", their fate is left to chance, with the hope of making an overnight profit. This type of investment is akin to gambling, with no guarantee of generating a profit. Therefore, it is no longer an investment, but rather a risky venture that could lead to losing money.
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: February 03, 2024, 10:35:07 PM
You must have a source of income if you must succeed in your holdings.

For the few years I have been into cryptocurrency, I have discovered that you can't hold till the right time if your don't have a source of income. Just imagine that you have a pressing basic needs like feeding or rent, then you don't have money  to finance it, you will be forced to sell your Bitcoin at a loss if you don't have a source of income outside your holdings.

Most people that have sold their Bitcoin holdings at a loss or at an average price actually have the patience but don't have the knowledge of how to hold, because a good holder must be aware that he needs a source of income for him to be able to consolidate to his holdings.

It has happened to me severally, I have been able to hold now, since I started working as a merchandiser with Guinness, I think most times, experience is the best teacher.

Indeed, the importance of having an Emergency Fund cannot be overemphasized, like someone said, if you're holding Bitcoin without an emergency fund, you can't call yourself an investor because you're not investing but gambling with your asset. Surely Emergencies are inevitable so they'll come whether you see them coming or not, so it's only best you prepare for it so you won't be taken unaware. Because if you don't have a reserve for emergencies, then you'll be forced to run back to your investment every single time you need money for an emergency.
Just imagine going to your investment whenever you need money for rent, or whenever you need to get supplies for the house or maybe when you wanna sort the bills, you'll be killing your investment gradually, because rather than growing, it'll be diminishing every single time you touch it.
So Emergency Funds are a must if you wanna have a successful investment.

45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: February 03, 2024, 01:57:01 PM
Last week, an old friend of mine back then in the university in 2013 who later traveled to Canada to further his studies returned back to the country and yesterday, he coincidentally met my mum at a shopping mall and requested for my contact and my mom gave my number to him so he called and called the nickname that we both normally call ourselves back then in the university days I was so shocked to hear that and I called his original name and he answered and told me he is back from Canada and he requested we meet at a bar immediately.

So with excitement to hear from an old friend after so many years I just immediately took my bath and zoomed to the bar he directed me, so I got there lo and behold my old time friend. We exchanged pleasantries and started discussing about life and I told him how life have been so uneasy but that I got a job in a factory were am paid $60 for about 2 years now and i told him that my colleague at work introduced me to a forum called bitcointalk where i registered on the forum and learnt a lot of things concerning Bitcoin and i also showed him the amount of bitcoins i have stored in my wallet so far and he became curious to know about bitcoin and i explained everything i know about bitcoin and encouraged him to join me in buying and holdling bitcoin that we are awaiting the bull market after the halving so he became so furious and told me that since he knew me that I don't normally give attention to anything online (internet) but for me to hodl such huge amount of Bitcoins that it means am really serious about it so he became interested and ask me how he can buy Bitcoin as well so I told him step by step on how to buy Bitcoin and he bought Bitcoins worth $520 that is about 0.012194 btc so he told me that he wish to acquire 1 btc so I told him not to worry that he will use the DCA method to buy same amount of bitcoins at different interval then with time he will surely acquire the 1 btc.
My question now is that is it wise that I showed him the amount of Bitcoins I have accumulated before he developed interest?

I can't say that what you said and did was wrong. Maybe he just can't be called wise steps, because do you think if you didn't show the amount of your Bitcoin holdings, he would have an interest in Bitcoin? Chances are high that it will not be of interest.

That's why, when you showed him the amount of bitcoin you have in your wallet, he got so hyped that he might have thought that he could do it easily. But he didn't see the negative side that he could face in the future. I can even say that what you did was wise if you told him to do his own research on Bitcoin first and don't buy it first; instead, it is better that he buy it because he understands why he needs to have bitcoin. This is my opinion only.
yes, it is the right step. Introducing Bitcoin to someone is not only about the profits and progress that can be obtained. But some risks must be understood.
telling the other person to learn for themselves and perhaps answer questions if he or she is having trouble is a good step. we are not salespeople to sell Bitcoin. the more people who understand Bitcoin would be good. then more and more people feel cheated by their ignorance about Bitcoin.
Many individuals tend to entice others into investing in Bitcoin by exaggerating the ease of earning from it. This approach makes it appear like a pyramid scheme. People must stop using such tactics since it often leads to a negative experience for investors. Once people invest, they often look for quick ways to earn from their investment, which typically results in disappointment in the end.
46  Other / Off-topic / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: January 31, 2024, 11:52:11 PM
However I just want to say that in the game world gamblers are always there to bet and the important thing here is when a gambler can not risk he also can not win, true or false?

High risk = high reward - A famous line across general industries and that's true.

In gambling, there's a chance to always win but the question is, how much is the amount where we can consider "that's a good win"? Let's take the example of playing slots where of course, the higher the betting amount the better the return possibly. The winning pay line total win amount depends on our betting amount and it will only change if it triggers multipliers or wilds. To make a good winning amount out of it, either you expect huge multipliers to come or increase the betting amount per spin.
It should simply be that a win is a win. If we become more greedy and start to question what qualifies as a good win, there will be no end to it. This is because the definition of a good win depends on how much money we have bet. The more we increase our bets, the more we desire to win, making it difficult to determine what truly counts as a good win.
47  Local / Pilipinas / Re: 🔥 Bitcoin Accepted Store Spotted 🔥 on: January 31, 2024, 11:34:51 PM
For restaurants, we recommend:
- Steampunk
- Meze Wrap
- Laketown
- 2 Brown Boys
- Aplaya
- Royal Indian Curry House (RICH)

50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: January 30, 2024, 11:44:49 PM
I have a hanging out friend who is having trouble paying his house installments, he wanted to borrow money from me but I didn't give it to him because I didn't have the amount he was borrowing at that time, I advised him to borrow from another friend but their answer was still the same, finally, he was a little desperate and with the little money he had he put the money into the online slot application, unfortunately, instead of succeeding in doubling his money, he lost all his money because he lost in the online slot application

The valuable message that can be taken from my friend above is never take risks to gamble to pay off your debts, the pressure is very big, the chance is very small that you can pay off your debts, often you end up losing even more and losing your money. look for loans, sell your valuables or look for part-time work to pay off your debts, is a good way rather than playing the small money you have in gambling
It appears that he has resorted to gambling because he needs quick cash to pay off his debts, and no one in your group is willing to lend him the money he needs. Therefore, he has chosen to try his luck in the hopes of winning some money.

I understand that lending money to a friend to pay off their debt is not a good idea as it can lead to more debt. If someone were to ask me for money in such a situation, I would also decline. Instead, I would seek help from our mutual friends to pool money and assist the friend in need. This approach prevents them from resorting to gambling as a solution to their financial problems.
51  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: January 30, 2024, 11:34:42 PM
Is there anyway to help this person? I have given some advice to start using small percentage of the whole salary and safe the rest but still couldn't, and I don't want to help him to hold his money for him, he is over 28 years old, not a underage.

He have gotten used to this way because he started gambling all by himself and he won some money but end up even fuelling his addiction. What is next? Any tip?
If you have already given him advice but he still doesn't seem to be taking action, suggest that he talks to someone close to him, such as a loved one, parent, or someone special to him. Alternatively, he may need to seek professional help and undergo therapy to work through his issues.
52  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Unofficial Gcash Thread/ Discussion on: January 29, 2024, 11:50:24 PM
Waste of time lang siya.
54  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Mga exchange at option sakaling maban or block ang binance sa PH on: January 29, 2024, 11:12:27 PM

55  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 26, 2024, 08:14:54 AM
I doubt if he's unaware with sports betting, most casinos already have slots, table games and sports.
He's very much aware of sports betting, football is the most popular sports in the world and its betting platforms are readily advertised on different platforms  even most time while watching it, they set out time to advertise different platforms as have  subscribed with the channel. We see such during half time breaks, before and after the match. Even thinking as ads When browsing, so the awareness is widely created.

Now, there something with preference, the guy prefers slot games and probably, it makes him happy, the allow him play slots and live in peace. You might even be surprised he still plays soccer betting too, but has higher preference for slots.

Time is required for a gambler to change his preference. The feeling of changing games often times doesn't work for every gambler. There are gamblers like me, that mainly play specific games and try to learn through them. During periods of repeating the strategy, I understood our prediction could get better depending on how much time we've invested playing and observing the game. However, the strategy also depends on the type of game. Hence trying to make changes on some attitude of a gambler, requires lots of time. People hardly change. Although they'll definitely think about it. Luckily it works just fine, but if tries that and fails. He'd definitely have Op at the back of his mind, as the cause of his misfortune. Sharing advise directly to a gambler is not simple and needs more guidelines than people or gamblers may think. They have no slightest inkling of what the gambler would say or think about the advice. So, it's better to add that you felt advising him is fun and great than you both staying calm and not talking to one another. He should be aware of taking full responsibility in the future, when he decides to adhere to your instruction.
It's true that most gamblers have a preferred game that they enjoy playing. It's not always easy for them to switch to a different type of game, even if they have knowledge and understanding of the rules. For example, just because someone is skilled in sports, it doesn't necessarily mean that they will be successful in sports betting. Therefore, it's important to let gamblers play the game that they enjoy and are most comfortable with, rather than trying to make them switch to a different game.
56  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 26, 2024, 07:34:13 AM
Indeed, it's important to realize that gambling can have a significant impact on your family and finances. Regular gambling can lead to financial losses that could have been spent on your family's needs.

It depends on what financial stand we are being capable of, some can afford gambling everyday and this has nothing to do with their source of income being affected or their family not being taken care of as a result of regular gambling, we know quite that some gamblers have been this regular in gambling and were not being responsible because of the way they spend in gambling which they can't afford to give to the family that same way, which is a sign of being irresponsible with such manners, however, not all gamblers were involved in this situation despite being gambling everyday.
It's not just about having the capability to gamble every day, but if this habit persists in the long run, it can lead to a detrimental impact on your financial status. Many individuals tend to overlook their financial situation while indulging in gambling, which can lead to devastating consequences for themselves and their families. It's essential to keep a check on your finances and avoid gambling excessively to avoid any unforeseen financial crisis.
57  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 26, 2024, 07:13:18 AM
As parents then we do have the full rights on what we should gonna do with our children on which of course it would really be needing up that disciplinary action on which it would really be just that
normal that we would really be needing to let them know that the thing that they've done is something wrong and not something ethical on which on the time that stealing is already that happening
because of gambling then you should really be trying out to explain to them about gambling addiction on which its never been good and never been that a nice thing to deal off with.
This is why parenting would really be always challenging because we cant really be able to monitor most of the time on which there are really things which we might be able to miss out.
If ever things do happen then you would really be that responsible on making it straight.
As a parent, it's not necessary to monitor everything your child does. Allowing children to explore and learn from their experiences is vital to their growth. Our responsibility as parents is to guide them toward the right path, and if they make mistakes, we take responsibility while teaching them the difference between right and wrong.
58  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 25, 2024, 12:40:46 PM
To be honest, gambling everyday may lead into your success in cashing out huge amount, but like they say whatsoever has advantages also have disadvantages. It can lead to taking gambling as a priority and makes the person more lazy into going out to hustle to meet up his cost of living due to the hope of him getting a bigger cash out one of the days.
I love the honesty in your opinion about gambling everyday and I commend you for your truthfulness. I know some people who'll only talk about the positive sides of gambling everyday and wouldn't want to talk about the disadvantages of it.

Just like you rightly said, gambling everyday I think increases the chances of a gambler's success in gambling but I think the disadvantage is bigger than the advantage because for a gambler to be engaged in gambling activities in everyday of his life, the possibilities of becoming a gambling addict is very high and that's the worst thing that can happen to a gambler. But for those who can perfectly control their gambling engagements, gambling everyday might not be a problem to them rather it'll help to achieve success in gambling

Gambling everyday is not right, besides how can one gamble everyday? Does it mean that the gambler do not have any other activities to do? However it is right for them to answer this question.
As gambling everyday is not good so everyone who's gambling should avoid it because they might end up becoming addicted to it as it can only increase the chance of losing their money.

trueeee, No matter what angle we look at, it's not really okay to gamble every day, unless you've made it as your daily source of income, which shouldn't be, because it's not advisable to make gambling a job or career.
Gambling can have a huge impact on yourself and your mind, it can also cause the breakdown of your family especially if you are married and have children, how can you support your own family if you rely on gambling to earn money? Additional, This is not a good example for your children, especially when they learn that you are always out of time gambling rather than looking for a good job. You may not be surprised that your children's feeling will be so far away from you and that the worst part is that they will be like you when they get older.

If you're relying on gambling as a means of income, wouldn't it be better to look for a job instead? It's not advisable to gamble every day as luck is not always on our side. There's no point in trying to gamble daily if it only results in losing your money.

Indeed, it's important to realize that gambling can have a significant impact on your family and finances. Regular gambling can lead to financial losses that could have been spent on your family's needs.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 25, 2024, 12:19:33 PM
I find that guys post funny. He has failed in teaching a kid, and the kid is to blame. I am sure that kid got punished, but parents should be punished to. If my kid steals, I am going to blame myself only. Because I havent taught him well that this is bad. If the kid wont listen and steal, after being taught that this is bad - that is also my fault. Because I am not authority for him. That is why he wiped his feet over what I was teaching him. Of course parents should not be tyrants with over control. There should be limits. But in exchange there must be respect.
Children first of all follow their parents, if it is acceptable for them to steal, then they saw it from their parents, or perhaps heard about it from their parents. In any case, this is the result of raising children, if you need to hide money in your family from those closest to you, and be afraid that someone might steal the money, then something is wrong, and it’s definitely not the children’s fault.

Totally disagree that children follow their parents completely and that kid stole money because he saw some of his parents or relatives do that. There is no way any parent would show and do that in front of the kid. No matter how bad or irresponsible parent is, he will never teach kid anything bad or illegal. The kid can get familiar with stealing from everywhere. Even from cartoons for example. There it is shown that stealing isnt something bad, because main hero will always come and punish the theft.
Whatever the reason may be, if the kid steals money from their parents, it is the responsibility of parents to take ownership of their child's actions. This is the essence of parenting. However, if the child has already committed an action such as stealing, there is no point in trying to find out who or what influenced them. The only thing the parents can do is to have a conversation with their children and make them understand the gravity of their actions. It is important to teach them that stealing is wrong and that it can lead to serious consequences.

Yes, the last tip is my favorite: “Invest only in Bitcoin.”

I might agree, but what's funny is that on the very same day that the OP created this thread advising people to invest only in Bitcoin, he also created another thread that says "pick only 2 altcoins invest in." Lol. So which is which? Invest only in Bitcoin or we can also invest in altcoins but we should limit it to only 2?
I don't know about the other topic that Op wrote, but if that were true, it would be really contradictory. A person should at least believe in the words he says. Who would believe him if he said something here and then said something completely different somewhere else on the same day?

When you want to give advice, you must believe in what you say or at least have experience so that people believe in your words. However, if you say contradictory words, the result will be negative and no one will care about your words.
I agree. It's hard for people to trust someone who changes their investment strategy every day. Furthermore, I believe that the reason for this inconsistency is that he doesn't follow his own advice. No one will believe him if he doesn't even know how to follow his own advice.   Undecided Undecided
