Most likely these "super nodes" as you speak of will most likely be ran my mining pools as they usually have a huge amount of BTC and will allow them to collect fees even without having to find and solve blocks

"(Lightning fees are paid to peer-to-peer liquidity providers, and not miners) — Blockstream
Who are the liqudity providers? Exchanges.
This shows a motivation for Exchanges to use “Liquid sidechains” in partnership with Blockstream as part of the overall solution to reap in profits using the lightning network.
Some miners don’t seem too happy about that decision, and that’s why some decided to support the Bitcoin Cash network with their network power.
Who benefits from the lightning network and who doesn’t?
Who benefits: Blockstream, Exchanges, Users (kind of).
Who doesn’t benefit: Miners, Users (kind of)."

I'm guessing by mining pools you meant banks.  Roll Eyes

Anyone with liquid assets can run a lightning node and yes this does include miners and exchanges also normal users as well also less likely as they will be less connected

The best places will probably be payment processors like bitpay or maybe your wallet spv node or anywhere in between and the ability to open and close channels can be automatic and seamless inside your wallet software

LN, Thunder, sparks..  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

"Blockstream is a company founded in 2014 by Adam Back, who currently employs most bitcoin core developers."

"Wait? Isn’t the lightning network decentralized?

Because of how the lightning network, nodes and payment channels work — there is an incentive to use the fastest and cheapest hub with the most connections to other nodes. Merchants will incentivize customers to use “super nodes”. These “super nodes” may start small like a “Sydney local transaction node”.

So these “super nodes” could become very large, and who knows what will happen with that. Will they be controlled by the government? Could a fractional reserve banking arise again? Many bitcoin core support argue that it’s very unlikely — but it is a possibility.
Asking these questions about the lightning network on bitcoin communities leads to almost NO responses, because nobody knows how exactly it’s going to play out. Not even the Lightning Labs CEO. It’s still a work in progess.

RIP all the fools that were bamboozled by bcash scammer Roger Ver and ended up buying at a rate of >1 BCH/0.3 BTC. Cheesy

I feel a lot of trust and faith will be lost by the pure speculators and traders hoping to make a quick buck

amazing, speaking of outperforming btc, I see it would be very hard for alts or BCH to achieve that

Is that all you have left now cos any argument and that's all you seem to pull out

Every alt outperforms Bitcoin but etherium is lagging though even with fast uncapped blocks due to high network volume cos of those damn crypro kitties whatever they are lol can't say I've even had enough interest to even look

I'm not into eth, even tho it's the second market cap coin, but not so long ago, you seemed to be vey interested in btg I believe...

Im not into eth either but I think it has no caps on blocksize and there is this crypto kittie thing going on no idea what it is but it's apparently causing a shit ton of on chain transactions which is probably something to do with the recent price hike but it's crippling the eth network making it congested and unusable

And I still have some BTG not loads though just over 2 BTG

48hours are almost up  Grin

Xapo dump shouldn't have started yet
I think the deadline was the 14th but up until that date their users could either withdraw or invoke a manual autosell which is probably what you see happening
BTC difficulty has already occurred this wont affect anything due to the new DAA on Bcash

Other big things like what ?
shouldnt have?....its almost over as u can see  Wink maybe its xapo, maybe its xapo users, maybe its barry himself lol, either way only 900bch left...btc dif will change soon.

other things....ooo laa laa ....not saying just now  Kiss

I will tell you , i know alot of big players getting fatter BCH wallets right now  Smiley

BTC diff changed 20 blocks ago ? and maybe users invoking manual sell to get as much BTC as possible instead of waiting since BTC is going up fast and BCH is pretty stagnant and loosing value to BTC fast

Big things are happening on BTC too LN spec is final and testing RC1 and working on mainnet with a public mainnet beta to be released soon

Temp readout is only displaying 1 GPU fan temp, on mouse hover over it does display them all. Did I do something wrong?

The dashboard was updated this is normal I think it's showing the highest temp of all cards

dashboard v3030
added messaging system with news
support ticket system integrated with admin@simplemining.net
compacted view in rig list core/mem/fan fields for better redability
focus into field after clicking on RENAME
added sorting into Assig Group alphabetically
added SELECT ALL RIGS on rig list
added temperature coloring to yellow if at least one GPU has 78+ C and red with 85+ C

i see bitcoin at $ 7000 by the end of december. bitcoin is rising too fast. if something goes up quickly, it will be fast

You mean like how BCH went from $300 > $1500 (5x increase almost overnight)
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: December 06, 2017, 06:42:24 PM
I've been using SMOS ever since you added NvOS and it's been great. I think Linux is a much better choice than Windows when it comes to mining. It is so much easier to overclock and test on linux.

About adding new miners, while I do agree with keeping the number of options small to keep it simple, I think it would be good to retire older versions of miners that people aren't using as well if you keep usage statistics. This should reduce a good amount of clutter.

Other than that good job and best of luck.

I vote for dropping legacy versions maybe keep the latest 2 versions at most or allow users to choose the version as a dropdown menu rather than just a large list of different miners and versions
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: December 06, 2017, 06:24:42 PM
Big players are currently burning money to keep the value up if it drops its not because they want to make more money but rather they want to stop wasting money
How exactly are they burning money ? They are making tons of money with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is going crazy. And at the same time miners are behind Bitcoin Cash. They get tons of expensive Bitcoin with their mining every day. If you or I buy this coin than we can burn money. For them it is not money burning. It is investing in their coin. They want to overtake Bitcoin and in order to do that, they will have to throw money in it. A lot is at stake for them if they want to make this work. And they really want to make this work. But anyway, lets see how this plays out. For the moment the bullish pennant is intact and a bullish breakout is still possible.

they're no burning money, they re just printing tethers, what rock did you crawl out from under?

We're on about the BCH whales so are you saying that the likes of roger ver are printing tethers

Reason why it will drop is simple, big players want to buy more and make a bigger profit. Just my opinion.

Big players are currently burning money to keep the value up if it drops its not because they want to make more money but rather they want to stop wasting money

Xapo about to finish its Bitcoin Cash selling: From 658723 down to 31316. Xapo is also the custodian for Greyscale (Barry Silbert) who is selling their BCH. (bitinfocharts.com)
submitted 7 hours ago by btcb90

now at just under $1400, xapo wallet only has 2,413.26191092 BCH (3,385,084.2 USD)

just over 2k BCH left to dump from over 658k BCH.... Shocked Shocked Shocked

 Wink

I wouldn't say this is xapo auto selling because the deadline is 14th if the account is emptying then it's more likely either user withdrawing to another wallet or invoking a manual sell now

Bitcoin is not used a payment service and neither is [Bitcoin Cash] or any other crypto.

In tendering such an absolute claim, you have rendered yourself absolutely wrong.

Cheers!

Why so >? Please tell me at which supermarket I can pay with crypto would love to know.

Target. Whole Foods. ...

Gyft. I thought everyone in the crypto space already knew of this. C'est la guerre.

https://www.gyft.com/bitcoin/

Or alternatively - Xapo. Shift. ...

I thought everyone in the crypto space knew of this, too.

Or alternatively any retailer using BitPay or similar service.

I thought ...

Perhaps you are new here. At one point, actual retail Point Of Sale Bitcoin transactions were starting to become A Thing. But that was before Scalepocalypse.

Great u still don't get my point huh. Don't you see almost everyone is using it to trade with or as a store of value. Crypto's are awesome to trade with cause they are so volatile.

I think I get your point, but you make it poorly. And my initial reply should have informed you exactly what was wrong with your blanket statement. But you somehow did not see it.

True, cryptos are not used as a leading payment system.

Now here's my point: to some small extent, they are being used for payments. Which makes your absolute statement false.

Now here is a second point I snuck in along the way: crypto used to be used more for payments than it is today. Its use went from increasing to declining when Core's insane Raspberry Pi fetish led them to throw the payments use case -- along with many other use cases -- asunder. As persistently full blocks led to indeterminate settlement times and untenably escalating transaction fees.

Fortunately, Bitcoin Cash fixes this broken model that Bitcoin Segwit has abandoned. With any luck, uptake of the payments model will have another positive inflection. Leading to a healthy, viable, vigorous, and profitable Bitcoin Cash payments ecosystem.

And I can use bitcoin literally anywhere with my TenX card no limits no high fees I pay a couple of dollars to load it with some bitcoin and it just takes from my available balance at market rate whenever I use it and I can withdraw whatever I deposit back to trezor wallet

With this whole Tether USDT problem, I think you all should be more careful having money in the exchanges. All exchanges could be affected by this when (not if) it blows up. Many could end up being insolvent, even those who have no connection to Tether because people will be panic selling and withdraw to bank accounts.

It will be a very tiny exit door and everyone will be running for the exit. Be ware!

Don't keep a big stash of money on any exchange.

When Tether blows up, EVERYTHING will drop. Even BCH.

My guess is many exchanges will disappear too.
tether can only ever be worth $ 1?

Tether is worth whatever you wanna pay for it but since it's sort of linked to USD no one is going to pay more than $1 but it does vary very slightly

Most of the volume of tether comes from the buying and selling of crypto very little is trading to and from Fiat
