401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legalization or public awareness? on: November 26, 2017, 12:36:07 AM
Legalization will be the key to people's awareness. Once that bitcoin is legal in a specific country, the the government acknowledges it and a country would not legalize such technology without a purpose of developing something in the future.
Or vise versa. When people are aware if bitcoin, may be this could be the key for the government to legalize it. If a government listens to the citizens when proving the worth of bitcoin then there is no doubt that bitcoin will be ignored.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another Bitcoin Hardfork on: November 25, 2017, 08:55:36 PM
Hard forks are unstoppable I think. The aim of changing the nodes for possible faster and good transaction is a good idea but creating coins pertaining to bitcoin will be very confusing to newbies. No one will trust a new coin that easy.
I say stick to BTC and no matter what, we users will always be accountable in the changes in price. Anxiety is very hard to overcome. Hodl tight.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why aren't there more women in Bitcoin? on: November 25, 2017, 02:26:16 PM
Take a look around the crypto community, both in meatspace and online, and it would be fair to say that the majority of participants are male. This is borne out in a recent survey of 2,000 Americans which shed light on the makeup of the bitcoin space, highlighting a stark gender divide. In fact Google Analytics data estimates less than 4% of bitcoin users to be female. The question is, why?

Source: https://news.bitcoin.com/why-arent-there-more-women-in-bitcoin/?utm_source=Why

In my own opinion. In such cases, men are more likely to have works, habits and hobby computer based. While women tend to have activities involving recreational.
But as today, it is becoming quite equal. The equality of gender when it comes to activities are getting a bit similar especially with today's technology.
Like for instances, some works that only men can do before are done and accepted by women. And men sometimes are the one left for household chores.
Clearly, it is not a constant thing. For now in my opinion, it becomes not accurately the same but nearly the same rate to be involved in such Currencies.
404  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin versus other offline currencies on: November 25, 2017, 01:22:28 PM
As a NEWBIE, how would you explain bitcoin as against other offline currencies?
Which one has more market value and why do you think so ?
Hi and welcome to bitcointalk forum!

By other "offline currencies", I guess that you mean to gold and cash, let me explain why bitcoin is better then them.

Cash- Huge inflation, which means that if you hold cash as a store of value, at the long run you will lose value!, can be only transferred by a face to face meeting(someone need to physically deliver the cash to you).

Gold-Hard to store( takes a lot of space and may require to have a security behind), and also hard to transfer

Bitcoin- Fixed inflation, which means that you won't lose value at the long run, and also very easy to transfer, you don't need to actually meet someone in order to transfer bitcoins and you can do it from home.
Also it's value goes up at the long run.

Just to add on of some my idea about bitcoin versus offline currencies.

Offline currencies are those fiats money we have on distinctive country. Also, other jewelries which will be convertible to cash. It's durability will be affected like our paper money in long run of time. During cash transaction there will be a transaction fees or other fees like tax that will be add on which is required by the government.

Bitcoin is a crypto currency which lives in the cyberworld and decentralized was occurred. Bitcoin has a lots of privileges , like transaction fees which is easy and fast with very low transaction fees compared to fiats money. Its value is increasing and its a good opportunity to have a good profit today for the future purposes. No government that will be dictated which is highly secured especially the different transaction all over the world. As of this time bitcoin is the dominant of all over crypto currencies in the cyberworld .

It has been said about offline currecies having taxed by the government. Distinctive cash and in the long run may be phased out and that could lead to no value at all.
Profits depend on how you actually invest your fiat to earn. Banks are needed to have transactions and storage and low profits.
While on cryptocurrencies which are the online currencies which are known to be decentralized. Easier transactions, not yet taxed, low fees but on the process of having high fees for faster transactions. And in the long run, stored in wallets with private keys. Very handy and convenient to use especially when it is implemented to every market because it is used worldwide. When it comes to investment, very easy to use and profitable in many ways.
Troubles are no web, technicalities or even the wallets used.
405  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Teach me how to trade on: November 25, 2017, 07:18:09 AM
Trading is for any ranks as long as you have the amount for investment. But make sure that you are serious about it because it has higher risks with higher investment but with higher profit if done right.
Well, I think you don't need a mentor for that. Suggesting that learn first how to read charts it may not be a perfect analysis but at least you are learning it by yourself. You can also see YouTube for few more instructions.
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin potential on: November 25, 2017, 04:08:28 AM
Bitcoin has a big potential and that is a fact. Our world keeps on developing and though it's not equally used in such countries, its a mere fact that all are on the track of adapting it. Since time pushes the world into a digital one, it's no doubt that everyone will be interested.
In my opinion, the prices are attractive but also will make them hesitate to invest because of the risks.
I think not only the prices but also the stability of bicoin attracts users
407  Economy / Speculation / Re: Real reason why Bitcoin Cash is chasing Bitcoin on: November 25, 2017, 03:15:55 AM
Well, let us be true about this. Coins re not alive if it is not for the users. It just varies on how many people uses it.
If we are pertaining to Bcash and Bitcoin. There is no doubt that bitcoin is more popular because it was firstly made. And in my opinion, bcash just went up over ETH because of the recent FUD and until today many are still having faith on it. It can actually be at bitcoins level but Since bitcoin continuously goes up there is nothing alts can do about it. Market still buys it. Not unless every country ban bitcoin and everyone shifts to alts, surely it will pump like bitcoin and as high as bitcoin.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it smart to day trade BTC? on: November 25, 2017, 12:48:26 AM
Hi,

Basically instead of only waiting for big dips to buy and highs to sell, I am talking about selling at regular high and buy it when it dips $100 lower for example many times a day.

Say you have 10 BTC, this should give you $1000 minus the fees no? So doing it many times through the day you might add a new BTC to your wealth?

Is this reasonable or is there something I am missing?

Thanks in advance.

You are missing the unpredictability of the market. What if you buy and it suddenly drops? What if you sell and it keeps climbing?

People do this professionally. High risk, high reward.

I agree, markets are used by predictions. That is why trading even exist. Without individual predictions, no one will start day trading. Technical analysis is used professionally. Don't do it if you doubt your own skiills.

409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will BTC be a major in college? on: November 24, 2017, 10:24:58 PM
Not specifically BTC but cryptocurrencies in general. You think it will become a course of study / college degree at some point?

It is possible, studies about computers started from abacus and until today, new technologies are being implemented to studies not for information but to help them use it in a daily basis.
Cryptocurrencies are included in modern technology since it is run through web.
Or may be included also in economics since it discusses about currencies.
But in order to make that happen. Government should accept first bitcoin. It will be evaluated not only for the country purposes but by education organisation if applicable.
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is exactly the reason that people from stock market forum hates butcoins? on: November 24, 2017, 12:41:51 PM
I get that a lot. Not just by rumors but it was broadcasted here in the Philippines that it was a scam. Thinking that bitcoin is not yet known or unfamiliar to most of the population, assuming that it's true. The country is well known for the great influence of social media in which not all are true but sometimes false. Maybe it was set in their minds because pyramiding scams are all over the place just to earn for a living. That is what a Filipino can do to survive. It can come out right or wrong.
Only true bitcoiners can spread the whole truth and what it can bring to the future also for the country.
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maximum supply of Bitcoins : Can it be changed? If not why? on: November 24, 2017, 11:49:46 AM
Bitcoins (BTC) has a maximum supply of 21 million coins. Lets say as some people predict on a future date  a Bitcoin hits USD $1,000,000. During this scenario, is there any chance that someone can change the software program that restricts the supply of Bitcoins to mine more coins. Can someone give technical details if possible.

Thank you!

vnck25

Every OP saying that the change of limit of bitcoins needs hardfork are right. Some do want this kind of change for newbie chances in the industry. But we should realize that once that such change happen, bitcoin will be limitless meaning prices could drop anytime of the day and would be hard to make it rise. The decrease in stock makes the prices high and that would go the opposite way.
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Businessman be the Owner of Bitcoin Market ? on: November 24, 2017, 04:27:54 AM
I think that would depend on how much he will invest in the market. If it is a big amount then surely he can be one of the people that can influence in the changes of prices but not the owner of the market. No one holds the market alone, it is run by the whole population and every cent in the market counts. Surely we all have a part in the growth or war on bitcoin.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 Tips For New Bitcoin Investors on: November 23, 2017, 02:50:41 AM
And yeah Do it with with confidence (not full not less) and tade or invest with less emotions.
Don't just be go with the flow but deal with the flow. Etched it to your palm or to your head.

Presumably right. Emotions especially extreme ones is a factor causing such risks in investments. Causing panicking and jumping off edges for low possibilities of profits. Yet, tips or any reminders are just guidance for anxiety-free feeling of the investors. When you have followed such reminders, you can work properly and satisfied.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why isn't bitcoin enough? on: November 23, 2017, 12:50:01 AM
Well, everything is an asset alright. Functional and profitable. Yet bitcoin has it all including the most of populations. Due to many users, functions slow and interrupted somtimes. Then transactions needs high fees. That is why alts are created. They wanted faster ones with less or even no fees. That was the purpose why alts are made.  I think when such alts are created, they just want to avoid traffic and continue to profit with no bugs. More or less it's cheaper too.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs, not Bitcoin, are the bubble on: November 22, 2017, 11:37:11 PM
I do believe that bitcoin is not the bubble but ICOs. There may be hundreds of ICOs out there but few have potentials. We are not even sure if they really aim to achieve the project's goal or just to scam people. Though ICOs have definitely have helped in the growth of bitcoin. As we have experienced, ICOs were mostly created this year and as we can see, bitcoin not only doubled but tripled. There may be lot of factors contributing to such Boom but ICOs may be one of them.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to Cashout Crypto on: November 22, 2017, 01:20:32 PM
As being new to the crypto currency world. I like to know how do you cash you your money?

such as taking your crypto and taking it out into real money?

eg transfers to paypal?

etc. what methods suggested?

There are many ways to convert your crypto to real money. First you can transact with a person who is looking for a crypto in exchange for fiat money but it is too risky. In our country, our local online wallet has many options on how to cash out our Bitcoin. We can cash it out via money remittance center or we can make wireless withdrawal on a certain bank. We can also directly convert our Bitcoin into real money and cash it out directly to our bank account.

I agree. So I think we are in the same country. Just guessing.
OP is right. I just wanted to share my own ways of converting BTC to fiat although he already said it clear.
By via wallet, I am a load retailer. I receive ten percent rebate. So I have converted my btc with a profit.
Another way is by exchanging with my friends. I have friends using cryptos, it's easier because I trust them and wallet connected to remittances.
Also tried banks but IDs are needed.
417  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I Be Scared Of Hackers If I Have Lot of BTC. on: November 22, 2017, 11:54:09 AM
Honestly I do get scared too you know. Knowing that I store my coins in an online wallet for a short time.
But also I agree to everyone here saying that in order to keep your coins safe, use an offline wallet or a hardwallet. Or use those that have private keys.
Unless you forgot your keys or you have shared it to others. Surely, your coins have high possibility of being at risk to hackers if that is your concern. Or in other instances, you trust a stranger with your coins as investment without any background checks or security of a return.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BCH not King? on: November 22, 2017, 10:22:49 AM
Simply because bitcoin was the first ever made coin. So presumably, it will be the fave of cryptocurrencies. Face meaning it will be advertised through the image of bitcoin. More users will adapt, use, and trust in. When it becomes more in demand, it becomes attractive to investors and it will be used in different projects. It will become mainstream and continuous process.
Since that bitcoin it already mainstream, guessing that some investors hesitate to use other coins because no one tries to take risks or to lose any investments if such coins will end dumped. Zero value compared to bitcoin that may survive it longer because of the massive adaptation.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Support a cryptocurrency with little money. Worth it anyway? on: November 21, 2017, 11:49:30 PM
Sorry guys probably my bad english is the problem.
I don't need investing advice because i don't want to invest and make money.
I only want to support my favourite project.
But i'm asking you if, considering little money i have, best to only partecipate in topic and discussion istead of buy some coin to show my appreciation.
That's all.
I already investing for profit in other "fund group".

Thank you all.
Ohhh okay I see what you're saying now. In that case, yes. Even if you don't have a lot of money to invest, every cent counts. You won't have a big effect on the overall price or anything like that, but if you like the project and want to support it, absolutely your investment will play a role.

@BabelZZ
Yeah OP is right. Its good to see that there are people like you not actually joining crypto just for monetary reasons but supporting such projects. The little amount you have will definitely have a part in any project that you have chosen.
Great work and good luck to us as Crypto users.
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Places that accept Bitcoin on: November 21, 2017, 12:42:48 PM
Well, in the Philippines, it's hard to tell whether bitcoins are acceptable. Though there is this wallet called coins.Ph naming some markets, schools and other services that could accept bitcoin as payment, there is still no assurance. Let me know if I'm wrong because in the island where I am from there are no such markets or any services accepting bitcoin. Though I haven't seen and experienced one yet, banks, like what news have said about bitcoin's legality is true. Banks accept them and helps us convert btc to fiat. That I can say is true.
