That's not an ideal example because it would make little sense that you sell now if you acquired the asset at around $71.000 and loss money. Bitcoin's value is now $10k less than the valuation you mentioned. A better example of strong hands would be if you said that you held your BTC from $20k, and didn't sell any even when the price increased to $71k.

I guess it's the usual reasons. The possibility of getting robbed or receiving fake bank notes fully or partially. You could also be followed home, which would reveal to scammers where you live. Luckily, I have only had positive examples with face-to-face deals, but I have heard horror stories that makes you think how smart it is to meet people you don't know, even in public. All I can say is, don't go unarmed and be willing to strike first if it comes to that.

That's a shitty way to keep people silent and prevent dissent or questions you don't want to or can't answer. I still don't believe their intentions are to run away with as much money as possible and exit scam. They wouldn't announce it if that is the idea.

If you live in a country where you can get you bank account frozen or closed because of an association with bitcoin or crypto, then make sure you don't give them a reason to make you bankless. P2P transactions are fine. It's just one person sending to another one for any reason. Come up with a story why you are receiving/sending the money and agree with the other party about what to write as reason for payment.

Even better, try to create or join a network of buyers and sellers in your area who meet face to face. That way you can get the job done immediately.

There is a different problem. We are moving towards a cashless world. Many countries are already cashless and function entirely on debit/credit card payments and mobile payment apps. In 10 or 20 years, it's going to become harder, if not impossible, to get cash without everyone knowing about it.   

I watched a video from Australia yesterday where a woman was complaining that her bank no longer holds any cash at all. It's all digital now. She wanted to withdraw some cash from her account, but was told by the bank clerks that they can't help her. They even suggested that she should transfer her money to a different bank and request cash withdrawals there. She did. Fcuk this world!

He is just one athlete among many that I have heard supporting bitcoin and wanting to get paid in it. There have been older reports of US baseball and American football stars taking a part of their pay in BTC. They are thinking long-term, and understand that bitcoin traditionally goes up in the long run.

You don't have to be in dire need of money and broke to sell your bitcoin. Do it to treat yourself and your family. Renew certain things around the house or buy gear and equipment that you need. The current price is still a great exit stage if you bought your coins much cheaper. You can't know the needs I have, same way I don't know your position. So whatever rules I have working for me could be completely ridiculous to your personal situation.

If it's a simple change of owners, business might continue as usual as soon as the new project team is ready to resume everyday activities. Does the e-mail mention anything about how long they expect the site to be down? Are we just talking about 1-2 days or a much lengthier downtime? 

Perhaps, a simple notification that the casino is going into maintenance mode due to an ownership change is all that it's needed.

I wouldn't concern myself with short-term price movements even when they are as significant as the ones that we witnessed because of Iran's bombing of Israel. Whoever has been here for a few years has seen it all and shouldn't be stunned by anything anymore no matter in what direction the price is moving. Everyone would, of course, prefer if it went upwards but it can't always be like that. Those who are patient, usually profit in the long-run. 

I sold what I needed at a price that suited me at the time. I have actually been quite lucky to always do it between $71-73k. If I don't need the fiat, I don't really concern myself with the rest of my holdings. They will stay as they are. I am strong willed, so I am not going to touch the coins that don't need touching.

It's pretty weird to think about investing during a world war (if one were to happen). If you are a healthy male under 60-70, you might be fighting in that war on one side or the other. Many countries have nuclear weapons, and if those start flying above our heads, bitcoin, fiat, and gold will be the least of our worries. If you aren't lying dead in a ditch somewhere, you will be paying an arm and a leg for clean water and some food that isn't poisonous.

ViaBTC works, but you have to be really quick to submit your transaction within a few seconds exactly on the new hour mark. Mempool.space also offers transaction boosting, but you have to pay for it. And it isn't cheap.

It's not the current value of Bitcoin that is causing mining fees to reach 150 sat/vByte. Compared to bitcoin, ethereum dumped even harder and its fees have been on the lower side the last couple of days. Ordinals part 2 are going live on the Bitcoin blockchain. What you are proposing is abandoning one of the pillars of Bitcoin - decentralization. Instead of it, you are proposing to centralize the mining process to a chosen entity, and introduce some type of virtual blocks which wouldn't require the usual PoW to be mined. The invested energy and hashpower is important to Bitcoin's value. Bitcoin is valuable because it's difficult to mine/produce. If you were to simplify that process, Bitcoin couldn't possibly get more expensive. And what about the mining rewards per block? Would they also be included in your virtual blocks? You would be doubling or tripling the block production.

You would have a less congested blockchain, but a more centralized network. No one will agree to it.   

I think we will first experience a downtrend for a while before the price starts shooting upwards. And after that, I am pretty sure we will have a new ATH.
I am not happy that the big-block spammers are introducing a new token in the form of RUNES on the Bitcoin blockchain. Just when it looked like the Ordinals spam was slowing down a bit, we will now see new activity by the same type of people that will bring congestion to our network.

It would have been better to make this suggestion in the appropriate thread created for discussions about the SuperNotifier bot. TryNinja would get the message sooner instead of having to find the information here. 

It only affects you if you are in a signature campaign, and you don't reach the minimum post quota for the week because some of your posts ended up in the off-topic section. As we know, campaign managers don't count such posts. This is what the discussion is actually about.

People shouldn't get into trouble for posting images or videos on Bitcontalk. I would only consider it problematic if you try and present the image/video as your own, by saying something like, look at this image I created to explain x subject. And then you post the image with text, tables, or lists that offer an explanation to the question asked. To me that is plagiarism because you are pretending that an image someone else created is yours.

So it depends on how you do it and your intent behind it. If we are discussing something like new Lightning nodes in 2024, and I find a picture showing a table with stats about the growth, I can post that to bring my point across. What I should not do is trying to trick the readers into believing that I carried out the research and created the table. 

It's supposed to stop those that don't have the quality and, thus, don't deserve to rank up. If 9/10 are all quality contributors, then they should all rank up with the help of the merit system. If only 1/10 has the needed knowledge and quality, then only that one person should be rewarded enough merits to climb the rank ladder. The system still works.

It's a scrapper for Bitcointalk only, yes. It's very well known if you are a regular forum user. I never use the forum's search function. Ninjastic.space is much better. You can search for terms in subjects or the body of the content. There are options to ignore topics and remove them from the final results, you can add a date range, and search in specific boards only. Even Google does a better job in my opinion than the forum search feature.

Sad opet spameri izbacuju neki novi inscription token na Bitcoin blockchainu pa su naknade rasle i do 150 sat/vByte. Mislio sam da će se ova situacije od jućer na relaciji Iran-Izrael negativno odraziti na situaciju sa naknadama za BTC ali bar za sad nije.

If there is no link to an actual source, then you just mention that the information originates from newsletter X and put the quoted part in quote tags. Or, if you incorporate the quoted text in a sentence, use quotes and italicized text with the source information at the bottom of your post. By not doing anything of what I just wrote, you are making it look like it's you who is saying those things. And since that's not the case, you are plagiarizing.   

Instead of just copy/pasting something from another source, why not add your personal opinion on it? Write your thoughts and whether or not you agree with what you read. Explain how you understood it and if something could be improved, removed altogether. Just copy/pasting the information without anything else looks like a low-effort post.

I guess I am not a high-quality cycler to be invited to a premium club like that. I'll have to cycle harder. I can always start identifying as a member of the merit cycling club and change my pronouns. That's popular in this time and age. Then, I will finally get the merit recognition I deserve.
