401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 15, 2024, 09:57:41 AM
Lomachenko is one of my favorite boxers, too bad he started pro too old... If Loma can fight 100% without injury, he can beat Kambosos by UD. Kambosos couldn't handle Haney as well as Loma, and I'd argue Loma was robbed that night. The problem is that Loma is injury-prone, and he is already past his prime. The fact that the match is in Aussy means hometown advantage for Kambosos as well. Anyway, if you look at Stake odds: Loma 1.13 vs Kambosos 5.40, the latter one is more tempting. Moreover, if you pick winning by decision for Kambosos, it will be 8.00... not bad! (DYOR & DWYOR).

That's true, it's because he uses to be on the amateurs for a long time. But when he turn pro, he was given a chance for the belt in his second fight (if I'm not mistaken). And I think that is the record that still stands today.

Yes, not bad, but it's the question whether Kambosos can win in this fight. He is a huge underdog against "Hi-Tech" here. I was just thinking that Loma's age might have caught up with him already. But I think he can still beat Kambosos here and become a world champion. And I remember when they released his training, some new method that time and that's why they called him that monicker because he really shows that in the ring with his head and foot movement that we haven't seen.

I saw his amateur record too, it was very impressive. That's why we can't judge his number of fights in pro and conclude he doesn't have much experience.

Quote
Lomachenko is one of the most successful amateur boxers of all time, possessing a record of 396 wins and 1 loss, with that loss avenged twice.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasiliy_Lomachenko

Also an Olympic Gold medalist, so he is an accomplished fighter. With that reason, it's clear enough that Kambosos has not chance here.

Quote
Following a forced move up to lightweight, he won his second consecutive Olympic gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London to become a rare two-weight Olympic champion.[15] He defeated Han Soon-Chul of South Korea in the final, 19–9, and was a strong candidate to win the Val Barker Trophy for a second time in what would have historically been an unprecedented feat. Ultimately, he was edged out by welterweight gold medal winner, Serik Sapiyev, of Kazakhstan.[16]

Yes, he was literally undefeated at the amateurs and Olympic, he took revenge on that 1 lost he got and then beat Sapiyev twice.

Anyhow, pro might be different for him as he has suffered defeat already, but he has become a world champion already and we think that he can still make it even at his age against Kambosos. Sorry for George Kambosos fans, but it seems that he is just one dimensional fighter.

But he nows how to capitalized when he beat Teo Lopez and still trying to claim his belt back.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if? (2) on: February 15, 2024, 09:30:07 AM

If there is a "deadly solar storm" I think losing bitcoin is the least of our problems.
Haven't you seen the movie "2012"?  Grin

Just kidding about the movie of course but yeah, like I said there would be much more urgent issues than wondering how much crypto coins are doing right now.
In situations like this it's all about resources you can eat, drink and live on, not something you can't even physically touch.

This is also what I thought when I read the topic, I mean there are more things that should take precedence not just our bitcoin and other assets, but our lives and how to sustain it if there will be this so called solar storms.

And just like in movies,  people are more concern of the lives of their love ones and how to they protect them and then later when everything has subside, how to continue with our lives and then bring food in the table again.

I guess there could be a way to send our Bitcoin as humans are inherently resilient and will always find a ways to solve problems.
403  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, 50k Done on: February 14, 2024, 08:24:50 PM
for the price of bitcoin is now 50k, for this has created faith in bitcoin in the minds of those failed holders. And they will definitely hold bitcoin long-term later.
The faith has been there for those who understand Bitcoin, for hodling it for long-term purposes. It's only those newbies who don't understand bitcoin volatility will be drawn to it because of FOMO, thinking that they will win a short-term jackpot if they invest in bitcoin at its high price.

That's true, for those who have been in this game, we all know that sooner or later we will see the price increasing again. It might take a lot of though, like mentally tough for us. But if you have been building our portfolio, then it's just the start.

If everyone hasn't seen the price, then thread is outdated,  Grin

We are now going after $52k, and then most likely the next target will be $55k. So for sure, those moon boys are here again.

405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the Bitcoin bull market? on: February 14, 2024, 07:34:40 PM
I am new here few days ago I read post about bull market here.  And I read everyone's replies and understood a lot and didn't fully understand.  Tell me exactly what is the matter?

Bitcoin market has bear and bull cycle.

In bear market, the price tends to go down.

In bull market, the price goes up and that's why everyone is very excited to see it once again. Usually happens right after the block halving. In this case it will be around after April this year.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 14, 2024, 10:41:51 AM
Oh well, I thought that Canelo will announced his next fight as everyone is eager to wait for it since Monday when all the boxing social media says that he will make a important announcement this Tuesday,

Quote
The Mexican superstar stated during an interview with TV Azteca, with which he announced the renewal of their broadcast partnership in his home country, that he will return to the ring May 4 in Las Vegas. The date and city for Alvarez’s next fight were well known, but the four-division champion also noted that he will face an American opponent that night, not a fellow Mexican.

https://www.boxingscene.com/canelo-indirectly-rules-out-munguia-opponent-4-fight-azteca-tv-announcement--181402

But I have a feeling that his next fight will be Charlo and not Munguia or Benavidez.

It will be Charlo, I reckon. This has a revenge the brother storyline that can certainly cause much excitement for the fans heheehe. Canelo can lose vs. David Benavidez, it will certainly be good for him to avoid Benavidez. On Munguia, who is this? He knocks out John Ryder then everyone considers him worthy to challenge for the unified super middleweight championship? This is very head shaking, Munguia was only hyped by the sportsnews media after Oscar dela Hoya mentioned him that he is the best in the world. He clearly does not believe this.

Or maybe it was Oscar plan to get his revenge on Benavidez, after he gets out of this contract with Oscar and then obviously there are sour feelings between the two. So definitely there will be a storyline for this fight.

But then again, with Canelo already having a good money in his pocket already and doesn't want to take risk, then Jermall Charlo will be a good choice for him under his PBC contract. If I'm Benavidez though, I will go directly to 175 lbs and chance greatness and wait for the winner of Bivol vs Beterbiev.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 14, 2024, 07:58:44 AM
Celtics on a win in the road, I thought that it was going to be easy for them, they built a 22 point lead. But the Nets was able to cut the lead to 6 in the 4th quarter and thanks to Cam Thomas.

I really thought that he will be franchise player of Nets, however, he got injured and now that there are a lot of players in the team that can be a offensive weapon like Bridges or even Ben Simmons. And the height advantage of the Celtics was too much early and they take advantage of it. Nets really need another big man to help Claxton in the middle. And it seems all their players are shooting guard or small forward.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins: Over 50% of Cryptocurrencies Have Failed on: February 13, 2024, 09:40:02 PM
It is what it is though, that is the nature of cryptocurrencies.

If you don't get the support, then literally your coins are going to be dead. If devs abandoned it, then the same case.

If you are one of those that faces stiff penalties or even sued by regulators like SEC then your project will be dead. So there's a lot of reasons to, but the thing is, if there will be one dead coins, a hundred could sprout out and test their luck in this space, so it's going to be cyclical.
409  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US DoJ dismantled WarZone RAT Infrastructure on: February 13, 2024, 09:11:10 PM
It is great to see that criminals are being caught by the law enforcement agencies. The problem here is with the education. Similar to finance, cyber awareness should be a part of High school or college curriculum. Otherwise it's very difficult to uproot such issues. Criminals will be there but with right education and awareness, common people can stay safe.

Also do not forget about the older generation. It is very important for them to know about sach cyber related issues and how to stay safe. Issuing a circular by a government department is not going to solve this issue. It's great that these criminals are caught.

Yeah, everyone should be aware of this cyber criminals. Even enterprise are being attack, with social engineering and we have seen that they are very successful like we have heard companies like Twitter who have been under attack lately and other social media.

Yes, it's great to hear that this criminals are very caught and bring to justice and let's just hope that it will be long jail time. I think 5-20 years will not be enough for this kind of criminals, specially if it involved a lot of money and what kind of people they victimized.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 13, 2024, 12:44:30 PM
I agree, most likely the training has unwind already, perhaps just writing down their strategies in this fight and most likely Ancajas is really motivated as he is a big underdog going into this fight.

And I think for us who is going to support him, we don't need to wait for other odds to be listed. The ML is already huge as it is x3. Casimero who is a trashtalking from the Philippines is really very uncanny, as we all know that Filipinos doesn't open their mouth but likely to used their fist to send their message to their opponents.

That x3 ML odd is already juicy for us who support our compatriot but honestly, I don't expect that he could win this fight on the home turf of Takuma Inoue. Though Ancajas won his tune-up against Wilner Soto, I don't think that he could dismantle the Japanese that easily as for me Ancajas is in the twilight of his career, after two consecutive losses to Martinez, i just fell that he don't have what it takes to be in this kind of stage once again though hoping that i might be wrong.

btc_angela, Yes, I absolutely agree with that. Guys from the Philippines generally do not talk too much and let their fists do the talking. But this is a little different. He is definitely talking a lot. Maybe not at a very big level of trash talking but he is definitely talking.

Ancajas is going to feel motivated in my opinion. Because I also think that He's going to feel like an underdog in this fight. And that is something he should use as fuel. In the same thing can make people motivated and demotivated. The question is how you use this thing.

I haven't heard Ancajas thrash talk though, perhaps it has to do with English as not their first language although the country of the Philippines has good knowledge of the language itself. And I do agree that they rather let their fist to the talking. Maybe they will look at their opponents eye and says to themselves that they are going to knock him out.

Of course, any boxer is going to be motivated specially if a belt is on the line. Ancajas has been a champion before and so he knows what it feels to be a champion again and so he will really give everything in this fight.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 13, 2024, 08:58:52 AM
Finally, the 175 division will be fully unified soon. I voted for Bivol to win by decision. But only because Beterbiev is past his prime although still very capable of beating world-class fighters. Bivol has underrated power and he needs to get the respect of Beterbiev if he wants to survive.

There will be some factors that matter here like the size of the ring. Bivol prefers a bigger one so he can move well and utilize his skills while the 3-belt champion Beterbiev would love a smaller ring so it is easier for him to engage.

And the Saudi host already has someone in his mind for the winner of this fight, lineal cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia.

Right, I think Beterbiev could be the A-side here and dictate all the terms? including what you mentioned, like the ring size. But it looks like though that this two Warriors are not to look like those American boxers who like to have control of every thing, ring size, gloves that are going to be used, who comes first in the billing and others.

This are Warriors, they just want to fight and see who is gong to be the best in this division. And yeah, all the belts are going to be in the line here, so we will finally see a unification fight in the 175 lbs, best of the best.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 13, 2024, 08:03:06 AM
I'm done with doubting the Heat to be honest. Last season, they also didn't finish well. IIRC, they were also in the play-in tournament but they won the ECF by defeating the 2 strongest teams which are the Bucks and the Celtics in the ECF. As long as Butler is healthy, they have a chance to be in the finals again. What we saw in the regular season will be different in the playoffs, so better not doubt them.

Yeah, good results in the regular season sometimes don't mean that a team will do well in the playoffs as well as bad results in the regular season don't mean that a team won't do well in the playoffs. By the way, the Heat are currently in the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, and I personally have no doubt they can make the play-in tournament and probably surprise fans in the playoffs.

Yeah, but it's a different Heat though, they still look solid with Butler and Bam, but it's going to be tough again for this year.

Great win in the road by the Warriors, Thompson was able to redeem himself in this game and the splash brothers combine for 51 big points. Wiggins is slowly getting into the rotation and another game for him with 17 points.

So let's see how long the Warriors can stretch their winning streak.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 10, 2024, 07:38:26 AM
If his camp or team doesn't have a plan B, then it will be hard to beat a technical boxer like Loma here. I mean they should have learn from the Haney lost, that if the first strategy doesn't work, they have another plans and that is the sign of a good trainer.

I've seen great trainers like Roach or Teddy Atlas, rallying their fighters when their first strategy didn't work. However, as I have said, Loma's boxing IQ and his style might be difficult to anyone in boxing. And even in a lost against Teo, he is injured and try to comeback in that fight. Even at the Haney fight, we see him winning some rounds late and it could be a different outcome for some of us.

The strategy they have (whatever it was) against Haney didn't work at all as Kambosos loss to Haney in their 2 fights. It would be too easy for Haney to move in the ring while scoring on Kambosos since he is just moving in one direction, all he has in his mind is counter and attack, the problem is he could not catch Haney who uses the same style as Mayweather.

Here, Loma doesn't move a lot but his punches are very accurate, he doesn't throw a lot of punches but once he throw it, we know it will hit.
Hopefully Kambosos will be able to survive if he will let himself as a punching bag.

Yeah, George could be a tough boxer, but if he is against a technical boxer in Loma, who uses more foot work and then go with volume punching every round, it's hard to counter that one. Unless George become a counter puncher, but it's hard to be become a counter counter against one of the best tactician we have in boxing ring in Loma.

It might go to 12 rounds and that could be the best Kambosos and hope that some of the rounds is going to be close and maybe the judges awarding him the points. Loma has been in several controversial fights and it seems he has been receiving the short deal. Against Salido, Teo Lopez and then recently against Haney.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 10, 2024, 03:03:56 AM
I got the Wizards on live betting +8.5 @1.95 when the score is 74-76. I love the ML on Wizards but it's a big risk so I just took them on the +8.5.

And I thought that it's a bad bet as the Celtics takes a double digit lead already after I place my bet.

But in the 4th quarter the Wizards comes back, 42-33 but it's not enough for them to win, but at least they close the gap and covered the spread for me.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 10, 2024, 02:06:24 AM
How about the Wizards staying with Boston Celtics and even taking a lead?

Jordan Poole is playing good tonight, there's something in him in this game that is very different, his moves the way he take his shots. His like the version of him when he was still with the Warriors.

Any of you smelling a upset here?

Edit: Celtics won, 133-129.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia April 20 WBC junior welterweight title on: February 10, 2024, 12:50:49 AM
And I'm not surprise that Ryan is a big underdog, his style tailor fights that on Haney. Haney will do Floyd here, just pot shot and jabs every round to win by a huge score from the judges.

Ryan is a knockout artist so Haney will do Floyd to avoid being knockdown or worst knockout. Though both fighters benefited from this fight but I think it is Haney who benefited more as he can't sell a fight on his own, I mean he is not a crowd drawer unlike Garcia who had a lot of followers on social media thus he needs less promotion on his upcoming fights.

Ryan should also improved on how to close gaps, this is his weakness and we did see him to move more in this last fight, but still there's more improvement that needs to be done. And it's also interesting clash of trainers and for sure we won't run out of trash talking between the two as well. Bill Haney mouth vs Derrick James, battle of wits outside of the ring and see how they will train their fighters to be at their best during the fight.

Punchers chance for Ryan Garcia to win this fight.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: February 09, 2024, 08:19:32 AM

I'm just going to throw peanuts for Ortiz by UD because I have some gut feeling this is gonna be an upset and then I'm more confident in Ortiz.

Because Teo had not KO Loma, he may not be able to KO Ortiz as well, Jamaine Ortiz is not named The Technician for nothing. He also survived against Loma without getting knocked out. It's all just my hunch, I didn't get rich with my gut feeling but I certainly won some of my bets because of it.

Why not mate? he is a huge underdog and odd makers didn't respecdt that Ortiz survived against Loma and even give Loma a good fight. Ortiz also has a underrated footwork that might gave Teo problems early.

And if he was not able to solved that, they maybe it's going to be a very close fight for Teo and he has to rally late like what Loma did against Ortiz. But we all know that Lopez is not known to be a technical boxer, he just loves to brawl and this could be a wrong style for him against Ortiz.

Unfortunately, there's no brawl here, Ortiz was just in survival mode the way I see it throughout the fight. He will just swing and then try to fight outside by Lopez was wise enough to counter him all night with right hand.

So as per the judges, it went to distance but it's no close fight and the winner is still the champion in Teo Lopez.

If Teo thinks Matias is easy then go for him and get his belt.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 09, 2024, 06:34:17 AM
This is a very interesting fight, I don't have any opinion on who will win on this one.  Beterbiev being a heavy puncher and Bivol is a tough opponent and a tactician, can see how to mitigate Beterbiev's explosive power.  If Bivol can stand Beterbiev's punching power, I think he will win this match.

Same here, very tough to choose whom to bet, and this is what makes this fight interesting.

If Bivol's defense could hold up until the final bell then there's a chance that he could pull a win here as Beterbiev is not used on fighting the whole 12 rounds so he might gassed out if that scenario happens.

Good thing that they are bringing this fight to our table while the two are still on their peaks.

Yes, and we should also look at the age as a deciding factor, we say that Beterbiev is still strong, but boxers are good in their last fight. And if this fight goes distance, he might be affected and he is not used to it. And because of his age, he might tire much earlier.

So there are a lot of potential narratives that can happen as you have said. Might still be hard to see what will happen, and the odds are very close and we might be talking about rematch and what not based on fight 1.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 09, 2024, 05:52:31 AM
How about the Warriors winning on the road as Steph Curry found his rhythm back with 11 three's in that game? We was waxing hot in the first quarter alone, perfect 6/6 in the 3. If he could have wanted, he might go for 60 points.

Fortunately, everyone in the team contributed and there's no need for him to play in the last 4 minutes as Santos trying to be Steph hitting back to back 3.

They will travel to Boston, not sure if they can continue with their winning streak their against the best team.
420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price: $35K or $45K next? on: February 08, 2024, 10:24:11 AM
What can you say about the price in the last 24 hours?

It seems that it's what the OP has predicted, as we might go on $45k and not that $35k? It's not that it's a conflicting signs, but we might be back into the bullish state for now.

So let's see how it goes, I think this February alone, $45k is on the horizon and next month as we get closer to the block halving, we might see $50k at least.
