401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Errol Spence vs Sebastian Fundora - Oct on: May 28, 2024, 11:15:18 AM

Errol is almost as soft as Devin Haney being exposed, all the time in their career they were just fighting low-level boxers playing numbers for their boxing records but when they are matched to someone just right where their skillset level, they fold in the ring.

Fundora is also the same but after fighting Tszyu, he proved himself. I think Fundora will battle Spence to the ground.

It was speculated that the reason why Errol Spence did not have a strong fight vs. Bud Crawford is because Errol is very much dehydrated in welterweight. He is becoming very heavy for this weight division already. Also, similar to what @bisdak40 has mentioned, Fundora is not a very good boxer. This fight for Errol is the tune up fight that he needs hehe. However, a tune up fight with a championship hehehehehe.

A risk that is worth taking, I think this is what Spence is thinking in this fight. And for me, we can compare this to Tank fighting Mario Barrios for a belt at 140 lbs. So I will take a word from you, this could be a "scam" as Spence has a great chance to win this fight.

In paper it looks good for Fundora as he won against Tim Tszyu, however, if not for the accidental cut, it could be a different outcome and Tim could have won the fight. And another factor is that they know that Fundora just came from that messy fight and so he might not have recovered yet.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 28, 2024, 10:49:03 AM
I thought that Pacers is going to make it, that was so close and they're on the lead not until the last minute of the game.

I won't say "Poor Pacers" but instead, they did great. A young team with young talents that has a lot of full potential. Well done to the team and all of their staff for reaching to the conference finals.

Congratulations to Boston for making it to the NBA finals but it's not yet done. Is this a sign that we get sweeps from east and west?

Execution is the key, and then that Boston stop, the block and then White with the corner 3 points to end the series. And also the crucial rebound of Holiday and that's is.

And as expected, Brown winning his first Eastern conference MVP, Tatum though is  very quiet in this series, he should be the one taking over, but I guess him and Brown are sharing and it's good to see them going into the finals again.

Luka and Kyrie is also looking for a clean sweep against the Wolves next.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Errol Spence vs Sebastian Fundora - Oct on: May 27, 2024, 12:12:19 PM
Spence is taking a risky route for a comeback Fundora is coming up with a great win because he was an underdog and many people did not expect him to win the match against Tszyu, he announced that this could be his last fight but we never know it is just his strategy, he is only 34 years and he is still competitive.

Yeah, I also heard that Spence is contemplating retirement, and I don't know, if boxers says that they will retire soon, most likely they have a feeling that they don't have it anymore. Maybe he just want another last good fight and become a champion again. But there could be doubts in his mind going into this fight.

I don't want to judge Spence based on one fight, he just fought Crawford who is considered a very good fighter but with other fighters, he can still be dominant he is still the favorite based on the odds but that will likely change as the match progresses its interesting to see them in their press conferences and promotions.

It will still be the same Spence though, but the thing is that Derrick James, who has guided his career is no longer in his side as they have a bitter divorce to the point that James resorted into legal means for the compensation that he thinks he deserved when he trained Spence throughout his career.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 27, 2024, 10:27:55 AM
Both Irving and Doncic want to become champions, they played great again in the last match and managed to win the match. Minnesota Timberwolves can't win a game this time, Edwards and KAT should have been able to win at least one game in this series.
I don't think the conference finals will be extended, both series seem to end in the 4th game. Then we will see the real champion Smiley

It's unbelievable how the defending champions lost to Minnesota. While Minnesota is having the most difficult series in this playoffs. I did not expect Dallas to lead 3-0 especially during the time when they stole the two homecourt games at Minnesota. The games were close but at 3-0 and knowing history, I don't know if Minnesota has the heart and determination to continue fighting and giving their best. Minnesota deserved a win but I won't be surprised if Dallas will close this series at home. Somehow, I am giving the Pacers the better chance of winning the 4th game than Minnesota.

No team has comeback from 3-0 and win, the best that they can do is force a game 7, but that is a tall order. They really have a huge chance to steal this game from the Mavs, but we can say that Luka is really one of the best player in the league right now as he lead his team.

And when we thought that Luka and Kyrie are not going to blend, they proved almost everyone wrong.

Irving saving his best performance in the conference finals, and with that he might go on another championship game and perhaps it will be against his former team the Boston Celtics.
405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The practice of self insurance and a boost to personal finance on: May 25, 2024, 09:19:24 AM
The thing is that it's hard to have  emergency fund. I mean yeah we save and all of that, but not sure if others are treating like a emergency fund as there could be individuals who are going to immediately withdraw it in my opinion.

And for me, emergency funds are not to be touch unless it's really important and it will like to have a buffer of 6 months before you can call it your emergency fund. For others this is going to be difficult to save that much money in my opinion.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: May 25, 2024, 08:48:00 AM
^^ It's really hard to proved it though, it's one sample from Ryan's urine and it has been split to Sample A and Sample B. Perhaps what they have to show is that what Ryan did take prior to that fight that makes his sample positive of a banned substance.

And from what I have found about Ostarine,

Quote
Ostarine is a type of drug called a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM). It's not approved by the FDA, but is sometimes found in supplements.

Ostarine attaches to proteins in the body known as androgen receptors. When ostarine binds to these receptors, it tells muscles to grow.

https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-1564/ostarine

So it's a drug to help someone grow muscle, the question, do Ryan need to have more muscle in this fight?

Why is it to take only 1 urine sample that was split into 2? If the sample was contaminated before the split, how would the other sample prove for or against? I reckon this should be 2 samples taken on different occasions. This might be before their weigh in and the other sample taken before they go inside the ring.

Has there been any record of boxers testing positive on samples A and B then declared negative after an investigation? I am disappointed and I accept that King Ry might have cheated, however, if we consider the corruption in boxing, it would also not be very shocking if there is a conspiracy against King Ry.

I'm not an expert but I speculate that they wanted to make sure that there is no contamination for 1 urine sample. Probably there could be cases though that sample a and sample b would have a different outcome but the changes might be slim.

The thing is that his hair turns samples turns out to be negative. So there could be loopholes in testing as well. And that's why the camp of Ryan is still fighitng this case and hopefully it will turn out negative or there is a reason why he got the ban substance in his urine.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing all your fortune with just 3 years on: May 25, 2024, 08:33:23 AM
I’m not sure if this story was already shared here but I just recently watch this gambler sad story from social media that is really heartbreaking.

The subject is Terrance Watanabe which is a successful businessman who has a huge business and money that becomes addicted on gambling. He lose a total of 127M which is all his fortune that he earn from his business. Imagine all your hardworking was turn out to nothing after a few years of gambling addiction.

The sad part here was he became a victim of casino scheme of alluring user with their offers and allowing him to play while drunk until he loss everything.

He manage to wager a whooping 825M $ in just a single year when he lose that 127M.

Yes, I have read about his stories, one of the richest person before his time. But he then fall into addiction and become one of the biggest loser and If I'm not mistaken, he sued the casino as well because they fueled this gambling addiction by giving him everything.

And it just shows that no matter how much money you have in the world, you are going to lose that in gambling if you don't have control. But at least he had his family to help him out to recover.
408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will this stack make me a USD millionaire? on: May 24, 2024, 12:03:24 PM
~Snip
I feel like we haven't seen a crash hard yet because we are in the bull run period, not saying that we are in the bull run exactly, but it is definitely the same period. Which is why I think it feels like we are going to end up with something that will take a while.

I do hope that we are going to see a greater return, it may not be all that easy to handle, but it does feel like we are going to see a greater result one way or another. So that means that we may not see a crash all the way until late 2025, where the bull run would probably end, or even early 2026 could be a date. That is because in 2026 it is expected to be another bear year, just like 2018 was and just like 2022 was, every four years it's a cycle we have.
History can still be expected to repeat itself, but we never know when. Even this time, bitcoin's new ATH occurred before the halving and this has never happened before in history. A holder who already owns 10 btc today will very likely become a millionaire in the coming bullish period, but diversification could make it quicker for them, or it could slow it down.

I strongly believe that bitcoin will not lose too much in price in 2024 to 2025, but price volatility is very possible. Prices rising and falling for one reason or another are normal, but economic, political and other situations can have an impact on the market.

For now that's how we look at Bitcoin, their is a pattern although it might be very different every cycle, but you can see that they followed a trend and that's what make our prediction this bull cycle.

So as far as Bitcoin goes, yeah, for some individuals having 7 BTC will make them a USD millionaire. And more so to those who are not in the US. So imagine the amount of money or profits that they will get if they have that kind of huge Bitcoin in their pocket and wait to sell till the peak price of more than $100k in this bull run.

410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 24, 2024, 10:34:11 AM
Why is it that when I am watching the East Finals, I feel like the defense is always weak? Or is it just because they are playing fastball? While on the West Finals, the floor looks so small because of the hardcore defense in the paint, it's like no one is allowed to go in there.

I do agree, it's like that the conference has switch places, or I'm still that old school and thinks of the East like the era of bad boys and the Bulls playing with great defense. While in the West, it's the Showtime Lakers with fast balls and running.

Anyway, big win for the Celtics although I lost my bet. Haliburton, I hope he is okay after that leg soreness where he didn't come back anymore. It will be a problem for the Pacers to come back from a 0-2 series deficit without him.
New York Knicks also had the 0-2 lead in their series against the Pacers but when they got back home to Indiana their confidence was boosted. Adjustments will happen but I wish it's the defense that will get better. JB and JT are getting what they want. Jrue Holiday was being left to shoot three. That's the worst thing you will do in the ECF, at least  contest the shots.

Hopefully he will be back and that injury is not a season ending for him. Otherwise the Celtics are going into the Finals again and there are a lot of what if for Haliburton. So let's see if he is ok and then they can bounce back by winning at their homecourt.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Religion. Beliefs or Choices? on: May 24, 2024, 06:09:50 AM
Opinions differ here across regions and religions on whether religion works for gambling. All religions are not the same just as different religions have different rules. Even though gambling is prohibited in many religions, gamblers do not want to accept it they gamble. In Islam people believe in the Quran but gambling is forbidden here. Those who are more religious may stay away from gambling for fear of death. Many people in Christianity and Hinduism believe in gambling and consider it fashionable.

I don't think that gambling in Christianity is considered fashionable though. They are also against any form of gambling, although not explicitly mentioned in the Bible that it is a sin, buy it did mentioned that "love of money" is the root cause of all evil.

In any case, it's our decision to gamble, whether we are Christians and Hindus, even practicing religion person could fall for gambling and uses a lot of excuse just to play. No one is stopping us from gambling, and if you think you be happy then by all means play despite what your religious denomination is.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 23, 2024, 08:24:14 PM
...

Secondly what are the social problem caused by gambling?
(1) Depression and suicide
(2) bankruptcy, family-break up
(3) domestic abuse
(4) assault, fraud
(5) theft, and even homeless
Addiction to gambling is link to a range of serious personal and social harm such as those things I mentioned. These effects can be devastating to the individual as well as their friends, family, workplaces and community.
...

gambling is entertainment and this is the reason why quite a lot of developed countries have legalized gambling, but the negative effect that can result when gambling too often is addiction, so for those who cannot manage their emotions, gambling is a nightmare trap, but for those who really can manage their emotions and manage their money well, gambling is the best entertainment that can really relieve fatigue, especially when you get the jackpot, so gambling is bad for only a few groups of people.
You are right. Games are dangerous for those who have problems with self-control, which is why many sites have warnings that games can be addictive or have consequences. But if the industry only caused trouble, it would have been closed long ago and this is a fact.At the moment, the overwhelming majority are not experiencing problems, which means that the cases are not widespread, as indicated by the author in the initial post.

I think it's obvious that it boils down to self-control, and there are individuals who started to gamble but didn't fall for it. So there is still a chance for some to not get addicted unless you can't control the urge to gamble or to stop.

And there are a country like Macau, who are dependent on gambling for their very existence, jobs, taxes, GDP.

So it is not like that gambling is bad to society, there are countries who pose taxes and this taxes are put into good use like for infrastructure or even to help the poor's medical expenses.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Gambling vs Sport Betting, Lets Discuss on: May 23, 2024, 08:04:09 PM
Casino Gambling vs Sport Betting, Lets Discuss

Most of us like to combine casino games with betting on sports. I guess we can say they are two different things in so many ways. Casino games are always available, table games of all sorts, slots, original games, all of them are available 24/7. The gameplay depends on you, you can play it faster and more aggressively for extra excitement, or you can take it slow. I think most of us mix those two from time to time, from moment to moment. You need to have basic knowledge and you are ready to go and play any casino game, if you get lucky enough you can win nice amounts. Sadly without luck, we will just bust our bankroll, or some part of it.

Sport betting on the other side provides a different kind of excitement. We need to wait game to finish, so the waiting period is a lot longer, and there are not always good games. But with some nice knowledge about the sport you plan to bet on you can have more chances to win, but there are no guarantees in gambling.

Yes, and we bet because we are sports fan in the first place. So it makes the game more exciting to watch specially when it is live to see if our teams are going to win. Definitely there's no guarantee in gambling, but our chances might be good as compare to casino games that most of the times the odds are not on our favor regardless of what we believed in or what strategy we used like martingale system which is very famous for most gamblers.

But as you have pointed out, we can combine this games for a better experience. The games that we follow or after that, there's no more thrill. So if we are that person who seeks and looking for more adrenaline rush, then we go and play on casinos.
414  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin pump|before halving on: May 23, 2024, 12:54:30 PM
Looking at the current price,Bitcoin has pumped to $69K with a very high bullish momentum. My concern is can we see bitcoin rally to 100K before halving, bitcoin has increased by 40% so far.
Am anticipating bitcoin to surpass $72K before halving, but JP Morgan give a contradicting idea saying "bitcoin would drop to $42K before halving " ....amidst investors buying more bitcoins.
Blackrock has now bypass Micro strategy in bitcoin portfolio, been the top player holding largest amount of bitcoin and currently getting half of the market share, which I think is influencing bitcoin pump.
Bloomberg releasing a statement saying "The rate of buying of computers by mining companies have increased and also the need of electricity by them".
What are we to expect this pre-halving season...?
Will bitcoin pump more than $80K to make a new ATH before halving.
Will bitcoin drop to $42K as speculated by JP Morgan..?
Blackrock holding more bitcoin will it not influence bitcoin pumping if we say bitcoin is affected by supply and Demand...?

Of course, after the halving, the price of Bitcoin is more likely to increase to the maximum. Because currently the highest bitcoin price touched was 73.6k dollars before halving but the bull market has not started yet. The price of Bitcoin will hit its peak only when the bull market begins, which may be in 2025 because of the occurrence of each halving. So currently we may have to wait till 2025 so we have to wait while holding Bitcoin.

You mean to say new all time high, because if we talk about maximum, there's no such thing. It's either we reach a new all time high this bull run and then we go to another bear market, so it's cyclical. And the good is that we are already in the bull run phase, but we will have to wait before we can see a spike in the price.

Actually we did already, as we goes to $71k although below from the last all time high of $73. So more patience is needed from investors, and it might take until 2025 before we can finally see the top price or new all time high and it could be around $100k or more.
415  Other / Beginners & Help / [Warning]: Grandoreiro banking trojan/malware evolves to target crypto wallets on: May 23, 2024, 11:27:17 AM
It seems that the cyber criminals behind the banking trojan Grandoreiro is back, but this time it evolved and target crypto currency as well. What's dangerous is that it focus on Latin-American countries and now also on their list is Africa, Europe, and the Indo-Pacific.

And in this campaign, the cyber criminals sent a email with a link to view an invoice or fee, account statement, make a payment, etc. depending on the impersonated entity.

Sample1 email that the targeted victim received.

Or another email like this,

So initially, if will check if the machine is not on the sandbox and collects the following information:

  • Computer name
  • Username
  • OS version information
  • Installed Antivirus solution
  • Country of the victim’s public IP (via http://ip-api.com/json)
  • List of running processes

And what a clever trick, they are going to bloat their payload by more than 100 MB so that AV will skipped it.

After that, when it is fetches everything from the C2 server, their command and control, it will go and profile their victims including crypto related wallets and exchanges and accounts.

https://securityintelligence.com/x-force/grandoreiro-banking-trojan-unleashed/

-So again the rule of thumb, do not click any links in your email, specially attachments and you don't know the source.
-Update your AV and OS
-And again, we should always protect our account/password/crypto wallets. There nothing more than educating ourselves from this kind of attacks as obviously we are the heavy target
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 23, 2024, 09:25:59 AM
Like I told you guys most in my posts about the Dallas Mavericks, Kyrie Irving will be the key player of the game. If he starts aggressive early in the game, the Mavs will survive anything and it will boost the offensive energy of his teammates which happened today.

A very close game and it was so damn entertaining, teeth-clenching, heart-stopping, and exciting. I cannot even count how many times I stopped breathing for a while because of how close the game was. This is the playoffs that we had been waiting for.

The Mavs stopped AntMan at 19 points, Gobert at 7 rebounds only (not normal), and Towns at 16 points. That's the recipe to win a game. Don't let Ant get his rhythm and get offensive rebounds as much as possible which I believe is credited to their Twin Towers Lively (4/11 off. rebounds) and Gafford (4/9 off. rebounds). All of that could've been for Gobert but those two did a great job giving their team a second chance opportunity.

Yea, as what we have been seeing, Kyrie doesn't have a good series OKC, but here he did step up and that is scary for the Wolves in game 1. He looks like he is looking for this kind of game to show his talent again, whether he goes left or right of even if it is the DPOY in front of him, he will take his shot.

I thought it will be a good match up down with Gafford and Lively against Gobert and Towns, but it was the Mavs who are more dominant and Gobert didn't get his usual rebounds. Although Towns scores, he has difficulty against Lively as he was blocked twice in one possession.

Unfortunately, I still didn’t understand what they did.
If it is Miner-Extractable Value (MEV), it was used by many when it was available.

Quote
Using the specialized skills developed during their education, as well as their expertise in cryptocurrency trading, Anton Peraire-Bueno and James Pepaire-Bueno exploited the very integrity of the Ethereum blockchain in order to fraudulently obtain approximately $25 million worth of cryptocurrency from victim cryptocurrency traders (the “Exploit”).

Usually such exploits are described so that other projects take this experience into account. A person can be the smartest mathematician, but he cannot influence the integrity of the Ethereum blockchain.

So this exploit is post POW, which means that Ethereum developers are the one to be blame with this loophole when they move to POS?

I'm not an expert here, I'm just trying to understand because when Ethereum are still under the POW protocol, yeah maybe there could be exploits here and there but I'm not sure if they've lost this kind of huge money before.

Hopefully as you have said, since this exploit is well-known about developers of other projects, they could have close the loophole already.
418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto investment is exhausting for some ? on: May 22, 2024, 01:07:35 PM

Have you seen people giving up on crypto after they spent some time doing research on crypto and even investing?

I have one that I teach or I become a mentor on him. It was before the pandemic, before the last bull run that pushes the price of Bitcoin to $69k. And then the pandemic strikes, never heard of him again. Until in the last week or so, he went back to our place and goes back to the house the he used to rent.

And so we have a lot to talk and that includes investment in Bitcoin and crypto in general. He mentioned that he did profited in the last bull run. But he didn't invest in this latest cycle as he was tired and exhausted as what you have describe. So maybe there are individuals who are not that 'consistent' to invest here and even though they have a great experience, they give up very easily.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is boxing the worst sport to bet on? on: May 22, 2024, 11:52:47 AM
Recently I read that a year ago the Olympic committee cut its ties with the International boxing federation due to corruption and unfair referee placement. It has been a year since and the boxing federation has still to fix these issues. Now boxing is threatened to be completely left off schedule from the Olympics for the first time in the history of modern Olympics!

It really makes you think, if the international body of boxing is so corrupt, can you imagine the corruption that would be going on individually promoted events and closed leagues as the liked of UFC? Makes me think that fighting promotions and especially boxing should be avoided if you want to make bets.

You can read a relevant article about the Olympic news here: https://www.kompas.id/baca/english/2024/04/04/en-tinju-terancam-didepak-dari-olimpiade

I have to disagree though, boxing like any other sports is also full of corrupt organizations and I do agree that it has history of biased decisions in the past. But I doubt that boxing fans are totally going to ignore and chooses other sports to bet on.

Just like in the recent fight of Usyk vs Fury, the odds are very close, although in the fight night, it was Fury who goes as a slight favorite. Nevertheless, Usyk won in that fight as a underdog and by decision. The decision win is like 4.x odds so that is good enough for us to bet and win big despite if there is a corruption or not.
420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - Previous vs Current Cycle on: May 22, 2024, 09:59:50 AM
Even though both of these are very different cycles however at some point of time, they collide and stay together for some time.
Sept-Oct 2025 is the time when I think Bitcoin ATH will be in for this cycle. And if you have seen my previous charts, my Bitcoin Price Target is $172k which is nearly 145% from the current price.

Let's see how it goes. Wink

I think I have this kind of personal prediction as well, from a conservative estimates of $120k, to as high as $180k as the new all time high in this bull cycle. And it could be achieved in the last cycle of 2025.

Of course, everyone should take precautions as no one can predict the market with accuracy as we are just putting our best effort to make a wild and educate guess base on many factors including it's previous charts like what the OP is putting here.
