401  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience on Bitcoin on: March 11, 2023, 08:11:05 PM
Has anyone ever thought of investing in Bitcoin in previous years, but later left out due to negative though that Bitcoin will not have positive value in time to come.
   Let share our experience.
As for me I still regret my actions years back, but I still believe that it's never too late.
I almost did it. Back when we had the 20k high in 2017-18 I was so sure about bitcoin and thought it is never going to stop, jumped into the market and even earned a bit during that time, but eventually, things began to go south post that. Especially when we went to around 3k the second time, I was so frustrated with the market I thought I'll take everything out there is no point to burn your money as well as mind every single day. But I got busy with my exams and didn't took the money out for a few months, then I saw market once again gaining momentum and people talking about halving thing again which kept me going thankfully it was a very wise decision for me and my money.
402  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 10, 2023, 08:20:49 PM
I want to know if it right for children that are of 10-15years go in to trade or not because I have a kid friend of about 14years and very eager to learn trading but am scared of the lost and how long it will take him to understand what his doing, because it hasn't been very easy for me. So what your opinion please I need help? because I think is too risky for them to go in to trade for now.
As per laws of the most of the countries, trading in the local securities and exchanges is allowed to an adult only a person who holds the income tax number. Even though there is no such restriction when it comes to bitcoin but eventually it ends up to your decision whether you would like to expose your child to this market where he will always be at edge of his seat and learning that other's loss is going to be their win. Most importantly he will not know the worth of money as per well so I think it's not really advisable, you can teach him technical analysis but don't give him live market access. Give him dummy accounts until he understands importance of money and then give him a real account
403  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is kyc verification dangerous? on: March 10, 2023, 07:53:04 PM
Hello guy, I was reading a thread on this forum
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5221497.0.    recently and some other online blogs which said that kyc verification is extremely dangerous. If this is true, why do most crypto apps or other business ask for it, shouldn't it be banned or removed.
Most apps usually request for kyc verification before you can withdraw any coin or money from their wallets as this is very necessary to verify or certify you as a customer.
Kyc verification for long has helped prevent identity theft, financial laundering or fraud, terrorism and all financial crimes.

Is this true that kyc verification can put your funds and personal data at risk? Should we stop using any app that ask for kyc verification?
Obviously this is skeptical. You can't trust any random website or application with your identity and documents relating to identity. Even though I can't say that major apps and websites do this. But one thing I am also certain is that there must be some apps which must be misutlizing your documents for sure. Atleast for the least you might easily find your documents on dark web for sale for just a few bucks. But obviously there is no option sometimes you just have to comply with KYC norms of a few websites to use them.
404  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: March 10, 2023, 07:46:40 PM

Well, the inflation in my country now is not extremely high but has already damaged the economy. The cost of living is increasing and does not seem to stop. Last week one of my friends lost his job after working in the same company for a decade. His life abruptly changed, putting him in a place where he could not support his family. If you were him, how would you survive this tough time ? As a friend, I am trying to help him as much as I can and meanwhile, I am planning to save more money to prepare for the unexpected challenges in my life. What about you ?
I think it's really sad. We all have our commitments each month in form of some or the other EMIs and other expenses so losing a job is obviously a life altering event. It obviously is difficult to find another job and on top of that extremely difficult to find one with almost similar payscale. This always reminds me of the fact that how one should always keep more than one sources of income for them and shouldn't rely merely on their jobs for providing finances.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 09, 2023, 07:50:23 PM
The last test match of BGT would start today. I am pretty much excited for it. Australia after a change of captainship has played exceptionally well in the last test matche. They know that India would try to give their 100 percent in order to win this match and qualify for the test world cup. I am sure they would try their level best to stop India. The big problem with India has been unreliable batting. If they are able to work on it then it would be very hard for Australia to defeat India.
Australian players are scoring slowly, but they have played comfortably on the day 1 and lost 4 wickets only. The match is in favour of Australia at this moment. It could be difficult for India to qualify for the WTC final if they make a draw or loss the match. Because Sri Lanka is playing well against New Zealand. Maybe South Africa doesn't have the chance to qualify for WTC final now, but they are going to win the second test match too. Indian players have to give their best in this test match to enter into the WTC final.
The pitch is a very flat track to be honest. I am expecting this match to be a fair draw. If Australians are playing this good I expect even Indian batsmen to play this good on this track because ball is easily coming on the bat. But yes if spin comes into play after day 3 when pitch wears out then match can see an interesting turn. But yes all the batsmen must be happy after seeing this pitch finally in the 4th test. But it's too early to comment anything on the match so far.
406  Local / India / Re: What topic would encourage Indian board Merit source to get activated? on: March 09, 2023, 07:47:36 PM
The problem with our local board is
1. Less Audience of Active Indians. Accept it or not we have pretty less number of active Indians on the forum who post atleast 10 posts in a week. With less than 15 members of one country i Don't expect this board to flourish.

2. Lack of local discussions on bitcoin. Honestly there aren't a lot of points of discussion on local issues that can keep the board going. Other boards have separate languages so they flourish because people feel easier to communicate in their own language. For us English is infact the most convenient language and we have those discussions easily in common boards.

And moreover even Pakistani boards or Bangladeshi boards will suffer the same end. Bangladeshi might even sustain due to Local Bengali Dialect. Otherwise the low number of users will eventually make local boards less used.
407  Economy / Economics / Re: Could Bitcoin one day become the global reserve currency? on: March 09, 2023, 07:42:27 PM
Bitcoin is a technology that makes our life easier. It does not melt in the face of inflation like fiat currencies. It frees us from the bondage of banks, as it allows us to transfer money without the need for third parties. It has great features.

- However, despite being a new technology, it has very high energy consumption. However, everyone would like it to consume less energy.

- Also, it has been known and traded for years but still has very high volatility. With this appearance, it scares new investors. Because everyone expected it to have a more balanced price performance.

- World history is full of wars. Perhaps we are living through one of the best periods in history. But because of us homosapiens, our world is very prone to chaos. Coins that do not have an armed force behind them, such as Bitcoin, may be a little unlucky in this regard.

I think these three problems may not be solved and these three problems may prevent bitcoin from being a reserve currency.

What do you think about the subject? Can you share some enlightening information for me?
Nope. Problem is that our world is now way past the time of reserve currency. These days no country wants to get into this mess of having a reserve currency because they want to print as much money as possible without any restraint. The reserve currency puts that restraint. So it's not the problem with bitcoin why it can't be a reserve currency but the problem with the currency system itself which will stop bitcoin from becoming so. It cannot even be a global trade currency due to the exchange costs involved to fiat and it's volatility.
408  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 09, 2023, 07:38:09 PM
Hi!

I have heard about Bitcoin back in 2017 but never got to learn regarding about it. I always thought that crypto was a fluke and that it would definitely not be a type of transaction until pandemic happens. So, as the title would suggest, is it too late to start investing on crypto? And if not, what would be the essentials to learn on working on it?

Thanks in advance!
Not at all. People need to realise that you are never too late to enter cryptos it's always within time to enter them. Generally these thoughts come to people during the bull run currently we are in a bad bear run and there is ample of time for you to invest in the market to reap some good returns out of it then why are you worried about the timming? This is absolutely the correct time to start in this market.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 05, 2023, 09:31:37 PM
~
Now fourth test match is going to be interesting because after winning third test match at Indore Australians will try their best to level this series evens they will lose BGT but still this could be one of the best result for them in current conditions, and they can take good physiological advantage from India as well for the next series.
The only change Australia made after devastating losses in the first two matches is to make Steve Smith the captain and that changed the results and hopefully they will stick to Steve Smith rather than punishing him for the antics he did a few years back citing moral values.

Australia needs an aggressive captain and Steve Smith fits the bill and the way in which he exploited a loophole in the DRS is just incredible and now the 4th Test became interesting when everyone predicted an Australian white wash after seeing the first two matches, which is incredible.

Just saw a tweet from someone that sources claim 4th track is going to be a normal usual test wicket. Nothing like the previous 3 low bounce spin wickets. This seems interesting as now India might decide to play only with Ashwin and Jadeja and keep an extra paces instead of Axar but obviously that will hurt the batting to some extent but obviously Axar's main task isn't the batting. I am expecting Ishan Kishan to play the match instead of Bharat this time because Bharath hasn't so far proven anything and obviously Kishan might not get another chance for a long time after this. So technically makes sense as well. Other than this I hardly expect any change.
410  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with profitability on: March 05, 2023, 09:27:08 PM
One of the mistakes traders do make which I have made in the past is to be looking for a better profit. A good example is when having $1000, looking for a way to make $100 or more daily. That would be when leveraging it will come to mind, but leveraging is one of the reasons some traders find it that they are continuing losing.

As an experienced day trader, or a scalper, if you have $1000, what profit will you be looking for? Also what amount is your stop loss? What leverage would you prefer to use?

Recently I find it more profitable to earn just $5 daily either through scalping or scalp trading that is turned into day trading. I am not using altcoins for this but bitcoin.

If you are a day trader and you are using bitcoin to trade, if you have $1000, how much profit are you expecting daily? You may not use $1000, you can use percentage and I will understand what you meant too.
If I am a trader with $1000 capital the profit that I'll be expecting in a month will be around 20-30% on my overall capital which means a profit of around 200-300$ per month. For this if you breakdown daily profit should be around 8-10$ per day but the problem is that all days are not consistent as you might lose money on a few days and make more on a few so better to take monthly targets. But yes try to achieve them by staying by your rules don't overtrade just to meet the target as it can backfire pretty easily.
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will you feel when your government make BTC legal? on: March 05, 2023, 09:16:29 PM
My way to class this morning with some of my lovely course mate, someone raise this question that if our government decide to adopt BTC or make BTC legal how will i feel? I told him that the day our government will announce that BTC is now fully legalized in the country, I will throw a big party to host all the bitcoiners in my environment to join me to celebrate. If your government decide to adopt BTC or make BTC legal in your country, how will you feel?  Will you be among the people that will be angry because i know there are some people in our various places that think BTC is a scam digital currency which is not true, will you go to make them to understand it better in a positive way?
I will be very happy for sure. Mostly because I'll be able to confidently tell everyone that yes I earn my income in bitcoin and have been investing in it since so much time. Currently people of my country see investing in bitcoin or earning bitcoin as a bad thing. As per them it's like dealing some scam or shady thing. After such legality those same will look upon me for the guidance.
412  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC would rise again? on: March 05, 2023, 07:37:00 PM
Judging from the long period of time BTC has not accumulate any impression, I doubt if people are still investing because of many policies formulating against cryptosystem no industries and firm wants to risk their capital again. Would the system remains this way?

Normally I understand this wasn't the first time BTC has experience this down slide but then it was normally market situations but now many billionares has withdrew interest in this project, then what is the hope of this project? Do you think BTC will experience better and high price?
First of all why do you think BTC is not being accumulated right now during it's lows? Leave everything aside if you see the chart of BTC closely you'll see high volumes bars during last few weekly candles plus ofcourse you'll see price of bitcoin not falling beyond this point which means even after such heavy selling volumes price could not fall beyond this point so makes sense that this is accumulation only and nothing else.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 04, 2023, 07:04:05 PM

Don't forget our own top-middle order lol

They are not in good nick either. Rohit only played 1 match winning knock, Gill is a replacement but he needs to grab an opportunity with both hands. Pujara looked way too good in the last inning but he needs to repeat this in the next match. Kohli is just making Pikachu face, every time he gets out. Iyer also needs to take responsibility.
The Indore pitch got 3 demerit points from ICC and was stated of poor quality which did not offer a good competition between bat and bowl. I think it's pretty much correct considering how short the match lasted it was too skewed for spinners ball not coming on the bat at all. I don't mind pitches favouring spinners or pacers but matches should alteast last till 4th day always on international level. That's the whole point of a test match. Pitch is first two matches was still fine as some or the other team managed to bat for some time atleast but this time both teams struggled badly.
I guess it serves them well after botching the venue of Dharamshala and airdropping Indore into the mix out of nowhere. It showed how casual they were with their preparation despite knowing that the BGT series is a very prestige and money making affair.

Virtually no issue with the demerits points but again our batters played poorly as well, which inflated the idea of a bad pitch.

I think in a 4 match series you should atleast make sure you make a couple of pitches good for batting and couple of pitches good for bowling. Making all 4 pitches in the same pattern as favouring spinners looks itself a bizzare idea to me. I know batters played poorly to some extent but if you see ball was coming too low at often times and overturning as well at a few scenarios any good batsmen can fail to play such things.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Deflation on: March 04, 2023, 06:54:44 PM
Wouldn't it be better if lost coins were reintroduced into the network after a fixed span of inactivity?

I suppose the first thing one would say no for, would be by virtue of bitcoin's acclaimed deflationary property. This said, I believe it is much more important, especially in the longest term, that bitcoin keeps its property of conservation of energy, that is, having a fixed quantity of money ever available. By losing coins, instead, and by having them unrecoverable, we have not a fixed quantity of money, rather a decreasing one, which is why we call bitcoin deflationary.

What would happen if we would make so that coins with 109 years of inactivity would be reintroduced into the network?

I see this having some positive effects:
- decreased impact of hereditary monopoly
- incentive to let the currency flow
- canceled the future necessity to increase the number of decimals for 1 BTC (very-long term perspective: too many coins have been lost, thus the necessity to further subdivide a coin)

109 years? Even if I consider the time period from 2009 until the first 109 years you would have seen so much of deflation in the price that it'll be sky rocketing until a point where using bitcoin would have already become difficult due high transaction fees. On the other hand if you reduce the span of 109 years you stand at a risk of snatching someone's valuables merely based on the fact that they did not do any activity. I don't think both these solutions are optimal.

~snip~

If Australia's top or middle order doesn't perform well, it's most probably game-over for them in my opinion.
Don't forget our own top-middle order lol

416  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The Ministry of Finance approved the creation of a CBDC in the United States on: March 03, 2023, 04:54:14 PM
https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy1314
March 1, 2023
"In summary, U.S. policymakers are still evaluating whether a U.S. CBDC is in the national interest.  To advance further work and support the Federal Reserve’s efforts, evaluation, Treasury is leading an interagency CBDC Working Group to develop recommendations related to the implications of a U.S. CBDC for policy objectives for which a broader Administration perspective is helpful: global financial leadership; national security; and privacy, illicit finance, and inclusion.  Even as these deliberations continue, we recognize the importance of helping to shape global CBDC outcomes by actively participating in global standard setting initiatives and by sharing technology and technical expertise with other jurisdictions that are developing CBDCs."
Yet another country and same story. It looks now as if every country has started a race to create their CBDC and popularize it. China and India have already done it and now US as well. I don't really understand the point of this, if the government will eventually control the whole supply and demand of this currency what's point having a different name for it. It's been so much time India has launched their CbdC haven't met a single person using it.
417  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Trade on Emotions on: March 03, 2023, 04:51:14 PM
I would like to give some advice, especially to those who are new to the market. Whoever there is a pump in the market, you think you should invest in Bitcoin and Altcoins and you may benefit from it. But after your investment, the market goes down, and you think you are losing money, so you sell everything, again when you see the market go up you invest. This may you to get hurt again and again and again. So whenever you have to invest, invest a small portion of your portfolio. Never trade on emotions calculate well and then invest in it, also the type of people who lose in trading the et are the ones who"
- panic
- Doubt
- Hurry
- Fomo
- Angry
- worried
A major key for a trader is your enemy is always his emotions.
This is so essential for any trader. Feelings are the worst enemy of any trader, one should understand that why bots in trading are much more profitable than humans is because they don't have any feelings in them. They will just trade based on their program and system which ideally every trader should also do. But most traders fails to recognise this thing and trade on their emotions and eventually end up losing a lot of money.
418  Local / India / Re: Did anyone viewed the Youtube video on G20: Crytpo Ban by Kashif Raza? on: March 03, 2023, 04:47:32 PM
If not then you should. It is a nearly 19 minutes video that primarily discusses about the recent G20 meeting on cryptocurrency regulation and policy held in Banglore. It was chaired by our FM and the outcome of this meeting clearly stated Crypto cannot be banned in any of these G20 countries but a policy needs to be created around it. By October 2023 we would be hearing a lot about those policies.

Link to the Video
Forums like G20 are ideally the only last hope of governments to regulate Cryptocurrencies. If you see no one country can by it's own ban bitcoin because even if they ban it the enforcement would still be impossible because of the pseudunonymous nature, you will either have to spend too much money to create a separate wing of crypto experts to enforce this ban or you'll have to develop hefty and expensive software for this purpose both the things won't be able to justify the cost to benefit ratio of the proposal.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 02, 2023, 08:44:07 PM
Looks like Australia will comfortably defeat India since the target is small, but a collapse would screw them royally which is completely possible thanks to the bad pitch, spinners like Ashwin and Jadeja etc.

Just like Agarkar, Johnson etc, I have no clue as to why Rohit thought that it was a good idea to send Ashwin to bowl so late who is the number one test bowler currently. Hope he doesn't make the same mistake in the 2nd innings.

Also, South Africa defeating West Indies in such a one-sided manner was 100% predictable.
I am now scared about the possibility of India playing the WTC final. Even a draw will make things risky for India if Sri Lanka beats new Zealand by 2-0 obviously which looks a bit unlikely to me. However I would not want India to fall in those bit of possibilities. But let's see I hope India is able to win the next match for sure. But this match obviously it's far from gone right now.
420  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I dont like predicting btc price or moves but here is what i think i see on: March 02, 2023, 08:40:34 PM
Reason why Im opened this topic i see everywhere there is a lot panic.
The btc now in 23k zone the 24300-24500 is top.

Even the so called experts saying that we go down yes we might but we need to understood that 23k price range is lowest now.
If anything then 22300-22500 is perfect price to Open long position.

I would say this it's time to stop guessing and gamble and come to me i'll teach you how it's working.

I Also looking to connect and share ideas with people who see Same things that means you follow the Same indicators and you probably have instutional Investment education and Id like to talk with you so we both can share ideas and probably connect.

If you really look closely towards the market you will realise that the bottom has actually come it's just the patience of the people to hold that is being tested now. Keeping the price in the same area for as long as possible will make it easier for bulls to pump it when needed. It will start with a slight dump towards the downward side which would eventually turn into a great rally towards 30k. But right now I am not expecting anything more than 40-45k until the next halving kicks in.
