401  Economy / Services / Re: Paying for web site traffic ! [BTC][LTC][DOGE] on: May 28, 2015, 05:14:40 PM
I will click your link just to support the community Wink  But if you are looking for traffic you might also want to check out fiverr, I have seem some pretty good looking deals on that site for traffic.  I can't vouch for any of them because I never used it before.  Best of luck, I hope your website takes off!

Edit:  I must say I really like your website design.  It is nice and simple, easy to navigate, and attractive.  I hate it when a site is too busy and you can't find anything.

Hey, everyone who reads this thread go click and support the site!  Why not?  Lets help out bitcoin businesses!
402  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: New Robot Coin Game Rework! on: May 28, 2015, 05:12:08 PM
I tried the site but its not working good.  This was a couple of days ago.  I really hope that you get this fixed because it look like a lot of fun.  I will waste time on faucets after all I guess if they offer something novel besides just clicking on a button and entering captcha.  Thanks for this idea I hope it is back up soon.  Best of luck!
403  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do not expect any major rally soon on: May 28, 2015, 04:15:48 PM
On the other side, regulated and registered exchanges will be popping up soon, making it easier and safer for people to enter bitcoin through 'normal' channels. If that money comes in, it may become huge.

Why would people spend real money on BTC if there's no volatility? That's like going to a casino where you can't win & there aren't any hookers. Think before you post, brah.

In my words. (Possible dollar collapse not taken into account).

  • Summer 2015 up to ~$700 meandering between ~$180 and $200
  • Autumn/Winter 2015 down to ~$160
  • Througout 2016 stable as fuck at around ~$160

FTFY, quote me for truth.

bitcoin volatile: no one is going to buy it because it is too volatile and only can be used for gambling, and serious players don't want to lose your money, and volatile is for gambling things, not for a currency. Bitcoin is only for get-rich-quick people and will die soon

bitcoin is stable: no one will buy it because they can't get rich quickly

I read a really interesting article that argued the price of bitcoin will be related to how any people use it.  I wish I had the link but I forgot where I read it.  Anyway it said that 15% of the world population used it then the price would go as high as 500k usd or something like that.  It may be a little far fetched with that number but I tend to agree that long term the price of bitcoin will be linked in a big way to how many people use it.

In order for people to actually use it then it has to have price stability.  No one wants to use a currency that changes in value so quickly.  If I go to the market to buy apples, I expect the price to not change much week to week.  If the price of apples changed as much as bitcoins then it would be impossible to budget for anything.

You will always have investors and speculators.  Always.  They are not always a bad thing.  Imagine how low the volume on trading exchanges would be without bots.  It might be dificult to buy/sell bitcoins, and alt coins would be very difficult.
404  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War is brewing in the south sea... on: May 28, 2015, 04:08:33 PM
I seriously doubt there will be war.  Every time a nation gains in power like China has in the last decades they like to flex their muscles.  You have to consider that China is basically subsidizing USA debt by purchasing government bonds by the boatload.  Neither side wants war.  China wants to collect the interest on the bonds and the USA wants them to keep subsidizing its ridiculous spending habits.  You can be sure that both sides of the equation would fail if there was a war between them.

Also lots of people would die so I really really hope that nothing comes of it.
405  Other / Meta / Re: Why are there so many Egoistic People in the Default Trust List ? on: May 28, 2015, 03:54:46 PM
FWIW I have found Quickseller to be very trustworthy and reasonable.  I bet if you are willing to be reasonable too then you might be able to have a civil conversation with him and maybe get something done.
406  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin investing on: May 28, 2015, 07:08:23 AM
I am not sure I see the point in using bitcoin to buy stocks or mutual funds.  I think its better and simpler to just use whatever fiat you have.  If you buy shares in a mutual fund or stock you are paying currency to purchase them.  Either bitcoins or fiat will buy the same number of shares.  If you already have a ton of bitcoins I still think it would be easier to just change them to currency and then use that to invest.  There are so many option available with fiat.
407  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Price Technical Analysis (28/5/2015) on: May 28, 2015, 07:03:49 AM
That isn't a bad thing that the price is stagnant.  Wider adoption requires price stability IMO.  We are not talking about shares of Apple here but a currency.  Your average person doesn't want a currency that has so much ups and downs.

Thanks Bornil for the analysis.  It helps me to wrap my head around these things when I see specific real world examples.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A web store that sells home products and accepts bitcoin only on: May 28, 2015, 06:55:58 AM
This is a brilliant idea.  I would really like to see some novelty coins like this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1070042.0  or this one:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1041987.0

There are some amazing looking coins out there.

Also I would want to see other coin-stuff like ledgers and trezors.

I know this isn't exactly what you were asking for but its what I would want on the site in addition to regular stuff.

I hope you get this shop up and running!

Good idea! I created "Bitcoin related Novelty" category. There is nothing listed in this category yet but I'll update when I get some things.

What about clothing? Like Bitcoin related shirts? Say "Will work for Bitcoin", or a bumper sticker "My child may not be an honor student but she receives her allowance in Bitcoin" with a Bitcoin symbol.

Actually yes, those are great ideas for a novelty section.  I would buy a bitcoin shirt.  If those are successful you could do hats and hoodies too.  Bumper stickers are ok, but I like those plastic things that you can put on a window better.  They are easier to take off when they get old or you don't like them anymore.  I guess you could make lots of stuff like coffee mugs, travel mugs, condoms (ha!), etc.  It all depends on what people want.  I hope some others will say what novelty items they want too, because you only want stuff that will actually sell!
409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Topology on: May 28, 2015, 06:50:50 AM
Does anyone else think that this would make a great music visualizer?  You know, like the one for itunes but with the blockchain instead.   Lets do it!  Or let someone else do it who knows how.
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to SHIFT the Sacred Cow! on: May 28, 2015, 06:45:38 AM
Thank you sir there is some excellent information in there.  Did you get that somewhere or make it yourself?  Either way great set of q/a.  I feel like this should be stickied.  Anyone else?
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What CAN I do personally to help Bitcoin along it's way? on: May 28, 2015, 12:13:12 AM
Use it.  But also talk about it to other people who are not familiar with it.  I was just talking to a friend earlier today and he said that he would never buy BTC because it was a ponzi scheme.  This is an engineer btw.  It has a bad reputation right now and that needs to be changed with positive usage of the coin.

And I suppose a node would not be a bad idea too.
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin recover from another 90bn coins hack? on: May 28, 2015, 12:10:23 AM
I think that any event at this point be it a hack of bitcoin or an exchange would be very bad.  Coin already has a sketchy reputation at this point because of silk road and mt gox.  Another major incident, or at least an incident that was reported on the news as major, would be very bad right now.  I believe most would flee the currency and never come back.

414  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitaddress.org on: May 27, 2015, 11:16:52 PM
To be honest I don't like the look of the site.  There is no explanation section for newbies and the whole thing looks sort of tossed together.  I like the idea a lot.  However for now I am skeptical of ANY online storage method or generation thereof.  I prefer to use paper wallets and maybe I will eventually break down and buy a Trezor.  I might wait for the next generation of hardware wallets though.  I really want something that can store altcoins and bitcoins.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is Tupac Shakur on: May 27, 2015, 11:12:06 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto is Elvis. (Someone had to say it.)

I was going to say this, but I think that connectthebots's logic is flawless.  I don't know why I didn't see it before!  Now that the scheme is all laid out it appears so obvious.  I can't believe I didn't see this before.

Props connectthebots this research is awesome.
416  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: WTS Bitcoin Talk Full Member account +trust ONLY $30.00 on: May 27, 2015, 02:44:45 PM
I think that if you wait and get it to senior then you can get a lot more for it.  If you are trying to sell quick, I am sorry but most are suspicious because of the recent hack.  And really low price makes it look even more suspicious.

I am not accusing you of anything.  It is great that you can sign a message.  But I think accounts will be hard to sell right now.  I think you are better off farming it up to Sr.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash is dying in front of everyone's eyes and no-one seems to care, why is that? on: May 27, 2015, 02:41:23 PM
I don't think that any price movement can indicate a coin living or dieing.  The only way is to wait long term to see who survives.  If you like the coin then buy some and take your chances.  Don't worry about price movement because it doesn't mean much if you hold long term.
418  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Poker Site on: May 27, 2015, 02:37:08 PM
You usually don't post about them?  But you only have a few posts so you don't usually post about anything.  This seems pretty obvious to me.  Why not just make an announcement thread for your website?  It would be a better strategy.

Yes!  I want to get a crappy old miner just for mining no-value alt coins.  It would be a fun and slightly expensive hobby.  My electricity costs 15 cents so there is pretty much no way I will ever make money with real mining.  Some of the old hardware is getting pretty cheap on ebay.  It would be useful for heating my garage at the very least.
