401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Chinese mining pools propose 8MB block size on: June 16, 2015, 02:57:54 PM
when 50-80% of the hashing power says something.. that is what is going to happen..

You better listen they control the network.
Yep.  This pretty much settles it.  Those damn Chinese got a lot of momentum these days.  They've been selling so much crap to US and Europe for so many years - now US and Europe has all kinds of Christmas decorations and broken tools in their landfills and Chinese got all the American's and European's money.  That was pretty clever of them.  Well, clever if you don't mind slave labor to benefit the state.  Either way you have it, it's Chinese rule now.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Chinese mining pools propose 8MB block size on: June 16, 2015, 01:45:04 PM
I will follow Bitmain.  Bitmain you have my support.
Yes.  This is correct.  I love BitMain.  The only mining company that didn't screw me.  BitMain is honest and they do what they say they are going to do.  I am sure they are right.  BitMain rules.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Babe: "I could be a greased up fat man in his parents’ basement" on: June 16, 2015, 10:39:33 AM
Got a video......no GUFM to be seen:

Bitcoin Babe Interview

Yup, she's definitely cuter than most of you lot  Cheesy

That video doesn't prove she isn't sitting on a wide load.

405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Babe: "I could be a greased up fat man in his parents’ basement" on: June 16, 2015, 10:25:15 AM
I think she is a greased up fat woman, pretending to be a greased up fat man that is also pretending to be a Bitcoin Babe.
I am sure of it.

It is only due to her insecurity that she runs around trying to pump bitcoin in relation to her gender.  There is no such thing as 'women in bitcoin'.  Bitcoin and cryptography doesn't care one bit what kind of junk you have between your legs.  Quit trying to 'advance women' - and go build something interesting with bitcoin which actually matters.  This obsession to promote women is bizarre.  If women truly are equal, then they don't need any special promotions.

Besides, I'd say 99% of women who refer to themselves as 'babe' - tend to be fat pigs.  Have you got any photos?
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Chinese mining pools propose 8MB block size on: June 16, 2015, 10:18:54 AM
Increasing the block size is good for increasing the volume of bitcoin, however everyone's bitcoin program may grow by more than 1GB per day (8MB*144 blocks/day=1152MB/day) because of this, which is a waste of storage (and that's why I don't install the bitcoin core on my computer).

Dude - you can buy a 2TB drive for almost nothing.  By the time the blockchain gets to 2TB - you'll be able to buy a 200TB for next to nothing.  Drive space isn't the problem.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A major flaw with Bitcoin on: June 16, 2015, 10:11:05 AM

Money has a very distinctive smell.  A really good smell.  "The smell of money" - even sounds cool.

Bitcoin doesn't smell like anything.  Totally sterile.  That sucks.  This is what I see as the major flaw of Bitcoin.
The number of people that have taken your statement seriously in this thread is surprising.
You sir, are a funny bastard!
lol.  I am totally stunned at the level of stupidity in the Bitcoin community.  For this reason alone, I am slightly skeptical as to whether or not it will ultimately survive.  Bitcointalk is unbelievable in the sheer percentage of total garbage posted by morons.  lol.  But I am glad you enjoyed it.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ShapeShift Leaves New York, Choosing Not to Comply with BitLicense on: June 16, 2015, 06:23:16 AM
So who is going to pay Super Nintendo's annual salary if Voorhees and friends refuse to pay for protection?
Exactly.  NY is a filthpit.  Voorhees didn't leave because of bitlicense, he left because Mario and his friends have been running that extortion racket known as Wall Street and the stock exchange for years.  Napster replaced the entire music industry, now bitcoin is going to replace NewYork.  ...and New York thinks they are going to 'regulate' that?  Hahahahah!

New York wants to 'regulate' Bitcoin : Bitcoin wants to eliminate NY.  Who do you think will win?

409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A major flaw with Bitcoin on: June 14, 2015, 07:46:38 PM
This is the best thread on bitcointalk currently  Grin
bitcointalk has long been a cesspool of total rubbish and bollocks.  Hot steaming bollocks in fact.  I am happy to bring back just a bit of interesting topic.  Thanks for noticing
410  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best point in time to cash out the Bitcoins? on: June 14, 2015, 03:49:35 PM
Hello,
I am hodling Bitcoins since 2012, expecting them to go up in value.

What do you think is the best time to cash out? Is it now or will Bitcoin rise again to make more money??

Best wishes
Colonel Afurah,
Nigeria Army

I can send you a cashiers check with a little extra for handling charges if you send me your bitcoin.

412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1MB vs Gavincoin video explained in 3 minutes on: June 13, 2015, 09:14:28 AM
Also, there is nothing "magical" about 1 MB.  I think we could almost all agree that 1 TB blocks would be "too big" and that 1 KB blocks would be "too small".  Somewhere between those extremes is a number that is "just right", but that number probably changes over time.  Why are you so certain that the correct number today is 1 MB, and not 750 KB or 1.75 MB?
I had this same notion.

If 20MB will 'break' bitcoin, then what about 19? what about 18? will 17MB fuck things up?  Will 15?, 14?, what about 12MB? 5MB? 1.1MB. Somewhere in there is a point which doesn't mess things up.  It is not clear to me why 20MB will cause disaster.

The notion that small nodes will go away with 20MB just makes me want to do XT even more.  This is raging bullshit.  AntiXT people need to think up a better argument than that or they've surely lost their attempt to force everyone into BitStream and its stupid side chains plan.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1MB vs Gavincoin video explained in 3 minutes on: June 13, 2015, 09:05:06 AM
Doesn't make sense to me.

Seems to use fear and emotion as a propaganda tool to keep people from paying attention to the details (of which it gets several important ones wrong).

Exactly.  These guys want you to use their 'off blockchain' system. This introduces a WORLD of new problems.  Those side chains will have remarkable failure modes we can't anticipate today.  Changing to 20Mb is a tiny change likely to disturb almost nothing.  Changing to sidechains is freaking crazy!
Their argument that nodes will have to close down and only huge miners will remain is total rubbish. KnC and other mega miners are a result of conditions not related to blocksize.  Tiny nodes can buy a 2 Tera drive for about $60 these days.  Big blocks aren't that hard to digest for small miners.
414  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: When is op_return scheduled to be 80 bytes? on: June 12, 2015, 09:25:44 AM
I'm pretty sure that it is going to stay at 40 bytes and not change back. There is no reason to.

Am I missing something? The pull requests mentioned above was merged and 0.11 will support 80 bytes OP_RETURN:

https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/0.11/src/script/standard.h#L28

The final decision to go to 80 was a few weeks ago I think.  You are right - it goes to 80 with V 0.11 I am pretty sure.  I don't know when that will be however.  I think fairly soon.

I'm pretty sure that it is going to stay at 40 bytes and not change back. There is no reason to.
There are huge important reasons to.  Go ask CounterParty why.  80 is a good thing.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1992 on: June 10, 2015, 09:08:08 AM
In 1992, some annoying guy (university professor) I worked for told me I really should get 'an email account'.  I figured it was some weird thing that nobody would ever really use genuinely.  After all, telephones worked pretty good by then.  I got one anyway.

Today, nearly everyone would likely feel the same way about 'a bitcoin account' (wallet, address, whatever).  My wife doesn't think anyone will really ever need such a thing.  Good for nerds to tinker around with, but mainstream adoption?  Probably not.

Dumbass

HSBC to sack 50,000.  http://money.cnn.com/2015/06/09/investing/hsbc-job-cuts/index.html

Get used to headlines like this, banks are going to spend the next ten years explaining why they are 'downsizing'.  The largest bank in the world - is pretty much lost for reasons why they no longer figure out ways to make money.

Good riddance.
417  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Circle Buying Limits? on: June 06, 2015, 04:45:54 AM
Will be opening a circle account soon.  Does anyone know what are the buying limits?  Is it similar to coinbase where its only a small amount a week until you bought a lot then your level increase such as level 2 and level 3?  Also its few days for bitcoins to show up in your account like coinbase?
Yes, it is like that.  After all, these are systems based upon trust.
418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to send a fake bitcoin transaction ? on: June 05, 2015, 07:23:12 PM
Is ther anyway to send a fake bitcoin or altcoin transaction?

Yes.  I can help you with that.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Show me your Bitcoin XT on: June 05, 2015, 07:17:39 AM
Also, thank you for selling your "BitcoinCore coins", leave them for those who truly understand Bitcoin, the blockchain and its implications
Let's see if you are still saying that when bitcoinCore coins are selling for $1 and bitcoinXT are selling for $1000.  Dumbass.
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Casualty List on: June 04, 2015, 03:07:16 PM
The list is huge, it would be cool to see an altcoin thread like this also.
The server that hosts bitcointalk.org would go down from flood from the huge list of names that would be. There are probably more than 1000 altcoins that have died at this point, literally.

Sounds about right. There are 627 listed on a website (coinmarketcap.com) and the trading volume for most is a rounding error. >1000 dead is likely.
But in order to 'die' you must first be alive.  Nearly all of those alts were just some stupid idea and they were not actually a legitimate going entity.  Look at the list above and see how much money and effort was put into each of those.  Now that is a shitload.
