401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong accused projects on: January 02, 2020, 10:31:02 AM
I need lists of projects that were thought to be scam and faced many wrong accusations but in the end still thrive and become successful today, any? I believe not all project that appears to be scam ends up been scam because people suspect them to be

I doubt that you'll be able to find any.

The actual scam accusations which have solid proof behind them generally don't get it wrong. Especially in the altcoin space where the people behind the majority of projects have questionable motives, their accuracies should not be doubted.

The bottom line is that you should NOT invest in any accused projects whatsoever. Even if the accusation turns out to be false, you stand to lose way more than you stand to gain 99% of the time, because of the negative publicity that will be received by the project that could hurt its development.
402  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New Exit Scamming Exchange? on: January 02, 2020, 09:34:16 AM
The digital currency exchange Graviex.net has been down for some hours now with a 502 Bad Gateway Error, it may be in the process of being an exit scam. Please be warned. Any news or thoughts on what might be going is more than appreciated. Thanks.

Seems like that they have resolved all the issues with the hacker: https://twitter.com/graviex_net/status/1211572788055724032

Anyways, the site is online and I think that they are even launching new trading pairs or interfaces on their mobile app. So it does seem that all is well. If anyone that uses Graviex can confirm that everything is as per normal that would be obviously greatly appreciated.

Still though, be careful with using these smaller exchanges because they can exit scam at any second. Especially the unregulated ones, or even regulated ones in another jurisdiction different to your own.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum upgrade to POS blockchain Vs. Bitcoin Halving[Ian Balina statement] on: January 02, 2020, 09:10:09 AM
Makes no sense.

ETH upgrading to PoS is a completely different event to bitcoin's halving, which is something that is regularly scheduled to happen every 4 years.

I do think that ETH will be better prepared for the long run with its upgrade to PoS but at the end of the day, it's still an alternative to bitcoin. Perhaps its price action will outperform Bitcoin's for the period of time during the hard fork, if it turned out to be successful. However, it is completely foolish to say that it has any real prospects of exceeding BTC's market cap.
404  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-15] Bitcoin Prices in Venezuela Near $9,500 as BTC Demand Intensifies on: January 02, 2020, 08:44:25 AM
There is a reason behind that. The price reflects supply and demand on the free market.

And with a closed currency system like Venezuela that is currently experiencing significant turmoil I would be surprised if BTC wasn't traded as a premium in their domestic bounds. There is simply too much benefit to holding BTC in terms of being a hedge and a source of liquidity for personal investors to be willing to give up easily for worthless, hyperinflated bolivars.

Maduro's Petro clearly hasn't addressed this need either because Venezuelans recognize that it's just a publicity ploy.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for the low to buy more Litecoins on: January 02, 2020, 08:33:45 AM
Absolutely. Especially with LTC just under 0.006 which I think makes it extremely undervalued, there is no reason to not start accumulating if you are in fact a long term litecoin believer.

These prices are peanuts compared to what we saw in the bull market prior to this, and the only difference is the fact that we no longer enjoy as much bullish sentiment within the market as 2 years ago. It's completely irrational if you ask me, since LTC's fundamentals haven't changed a bit with still Segwit on board.

LTC transaction fees are still among the lowest in altcoins as well, with its market being one of the most liquid.
406  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of crypto trading do you recommend with $50 investment? on: January 01, 2020, 07:29:42 AM
Hello dear members,
I have earned around $50 investment by posting in forums, claiming from faucets, viewing ads, etc.

I know that it may be impossible to trade with $50 capital because it is a very low amount but I thought that maybe there are some ways to trade with low amounts too. I don't care if the profit is low because I just want to increase it little by little to trade in larger scales in the future.
I prefer working with bitcoin.

What is your idea about this?

Firstly, stop doing faucets. They are NOT worth your time at all.

Secondly, I would seriously urge you to get a much higher amount to start off, if you're serious about crypto trading. This is because of the fact that most exchanges have a flat fee for withdrawals (usually around 0.0001-0.0005 BTC for BTC withdrawals), so any profits that you make could be instantly wiped out by such fees.

But if you want to continue, then I honestly think that trading on leverage on platforms such as Bitmex and Deribit is your only real chance at short term profits (the risk is high but so are the rewards, and you need to take that kind of risk to get any sizable return outside of withdrawal fees). Or if you are willing to hold an alt for the long term, literally just buy a bunch and forget about it.
407  Economy / Economics / Re: Halving is approacing: HOLD YOUR BITCOINS AND NEVER SELL THEM on: January 01, 2020, 05:33:33 AM
I would certainly agree to an extent.

However, it would be foolish to not cash out if you see an opportunity to do so at the peak of a bubble. As we saw in the 2017 bubble, a lot of people were reluctant to cash out and buy back at a lower rate later on which caused some pretty sizable losses.

Just remember that unless you are planning on holding BTC permanently you still need to sooner or later find an exit point for yourself. Even if you are a long term holder there is no reason not to cash out a portion of your position at the height of the bubble and thus have the means to buy the dips continually.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hold on to patience even when it feels like wearing off on: January 01, 2020, 05:04:21 AM
Definitely. Especially when you look at the potential bull market that will be coming up in 2020.

Right now is honestly the perfect time to be accumulating some large cap altcoins with DCA. Low risk and high reward, really. Markets have already seen its bottom at $7k BTC and around 0.018 for ETH, and it's unlikely that they will go much lower after this.

Just don't go about holding tokens with no intrinsic value. Projects that have no substance and no team backing in them will never succeed.
409  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Uzbekistan amends law making it illegal for citizens to buy crypto-currency on: January 01, 2020, 01:17:50 AM
In what appears to be the product of action and reaction from civil unrest, the government in Uzbekistan decided to prevent its citizens from purchasing any form of cryptocurrency in the country. It also only allowed them to sell coins that records could prove legally. So that the currency not legally registered is illegal and therefore cannot be sold.

It is a reflection by President Mirziyoyev that authorized crypto-currency as a legal in 2018.

Source and Read more ----> https://xitheon.com/knowledgebase/17/Uzbekistan-amends-law-ILLEGAL-for-citizens-to-buy-crypto-currency-LEGAL-to-sell.html

And where is the enforceability?

I'm sure that anyone with a brain can circumvent all of these regulations by simply selling their coins on a p2p platform like Localbitcoins. Better yet, they could bypass the platform altogether if they have real life contacts that sell and buy btc.

This is the issue with BTC crackdowns. They are uncalled for in the majority of the cases and they have no enforcability.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Useless projects! on: January 01, 2020, 12:51:13 AM
Coinmartketcap has statistics on the ROI since ICO for each coin. You could have a look at it.

However, it may not be entirely accurate simply looking off the ROI because of the fact that BTC has risen so much in the past few years. If you really want to dig deeper then you need to look further than just the ROI, and compare whether or not the ICO has outperformed growth in BTC prices over the same period.

But yes, a lot of projects do not deliver on any of their promises, and that's just their nature.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Central bank coins vs crypto space coins on: December 31, 2019, 02:49:38 AM
I've been following the trend news of central banks creating their own digital currencies but a question have since then troubling my mind.

1. These new Central Bank coins are they going to be stable coins or not?
2. What will happen if they are not stable coins? If holding them will be profitable many will leave crypto space and focus on these new coins?
3. Maybe people will just use them as a plus since it's from the government?
4. Will regulations still come after this? I think other coins will be neglected and regulations will only be for coins from government?

1. Absolutely. Their values will likely be pegged to the fiat currency of the country that issues it, there is no way around it. Otherwise, they wouldn't issue the coin in the first place.
2. Firstly, they won't be anything but stablecoins. But if they were to be somehow unpegged from fiats it would still not be worthwhile to dabble in these coins because they provide no extra value.
3. Perhaps the mainstream, probably not actual crypto users.
4. Yes, absolutely. But it will likely be in the form of restrictions rather than regulations.
412  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in January 2020 will touch 10k, What do you think? on: December 31, 2019, 02:15:59 AM
I highly doubt it.

The sentiment is still overwhelmingly bearish and despite the fact that I also expect 2020 to be a great year for crypto, I doubt the general trend can be overcome this quickly. Also, $10k poses a psychological barrier which is much more difficult to break than something like $9k.

Perhaps if we see news of actual institutional investments piling in this will come to fruition, but otherwise it's unlikely.
413  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: China cryptocurrency on: December 31, 2019, 12:34:35 AM
I heard that China is bringing out its own crypto in 2020.... please anyone with more info on that

I don't think that there is any official word from the Chinese government regarding this yet. It's all speculation.

However there is definitely interest on their part on pursuing such a program, because of the fact that Xi has publicly come out and endorsed blockchain technology (note: not decentralized cryptocoins by any means). We don't know yet whether or not that endorsement will come in the form of a national crypto (likely) and/or loosened crypto regulations for domestic businesses (also likely).

If anyone has official timelines then it would be interesting to see but to my knowledge there is none thus far.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Comparing ROI of Bitcoin's to altcoins on: December 31, 2019, 12:12:17 AM
You could also argue that bitcoin's ROI per year on average is significantly lower than that of alts - it's all relative.

At the end of the day, cryptos in general have been extremely profitable over the past few years and you're completely right - to compare bitcoin to alts in terms of their profitability alone is like comparing apples to oranges - especially when you consider the advantage that BTC has in terms of being the first mover.

I do expect BTC to somewhat outperform alts in the near future though, and continue the trend of an increase in bitcoin dominance overall.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2019-2020 betting on: December 29, 2019, 11:07:47 AM
Can't believe clippers blew another game...

I mean it seems like they just can't get over Utah or something. There must be a psychological block somewhere.

Unlucky for the players (including me) who bet on the Clippers winning as a part of a parlay. In fact that was the only leg of the parlay that I did not win, otherwise I would have seen quite a sizeable payouts Cry
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to promote new alt-coins ,tokens or wallets. on: December 29, 2019, 06:12:02 AM
I just want to know,

Where can promote new alt-coins, tokens or wallet.?
Who is the friendly moderator?

Because most of the times moderator delete the posts without telling you.

and if you pay them they won't do anything with your posts.

You don't need any moderator to help you do this. Create an ANN thread in the altcoin announcements subforum.

Any mod which is claiming that you need to pay them a sum of money to get you started is likely not a mod at all, because I've never heard anything that would remotely suggest that official mods will charge you for posting a thread on that board.

The only time you need to pay the forum to promote your coin or whatnot is if you decide to advertise via forum advertisements, and I'm not even sure if alts are allowed to be promoted there.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH - Going to 70$? on: December 29, 2019, 03:45:09 AM
Could possibly happen if you expect markets to continue to slip overall, but I think that ETH will actually perform relatively well in terms of holding up in this bearish sentimented market compared to other coins like EOS and smaller cap coins because it has some institutional background.

So yes, $70 is possible, but not likely imo.

Especially when you consider that we're on the verge of recovery already. Tough to see how it can lose another 50%.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nothing is wrong with altcoins on: December 29, 2019, 12:15:31 AM
I will start hating altcoins only when bitcoin raise up to 20,000$ and altcoins fail to move up as well, many people are putting blames on altcoins today as if bitcoin is not in loss itself, the ATH of btc was 20k and now it's trading for 7,000+ thats like 12,000$ lost please how will this not affect other altcoins as well? Top altcoins will surely lose value as well, to me this present loss of altcoins are positive, look at coins like LTC, EOS, BNB, these coins are doing fine. You will only have problem if you invest in crap altcoins

I don't think that anyone in the market has these unrealistic expectations of alts.

It's simply that alts have been significantly underperforming when compared to something like BTC, which has obviously been outperforming the majority of other alternatives within the market. And there is a good reason for that, because traders, especially institutions, prefer to have BTC which has had a better reputation and more liquidity in comparison to the majority of alts.

So yeah, nothing is wrong - but that doesn't mean that demand  for alts will all of a sudden exceed BTC per se.
419  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there formula for bitcoin price ? on: December 28, 2019, 11:05:46 AM
There are simply too many macro variables including sentiment that is simply unfeasible to predict all the time to have a model that can accurately say what price BTC is or should be at at any given time.

There have been attempts at doing this with all the TA going on, but I'm yet to see one that is legit.

At the end of the day though, I think that identifying the long term trends are much more important in this regard than short term predictions.
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: CoinSwitch.co is stealing your Cryptos on: December 28, 2019, 09:38:34 AM
Hi Guys,

just wanted to let you know. I've already changed on coinswitch.co several times.
When I wanted to show to a Friend how CoinSwitch works I've sent them 30 Euro to change.
No Coins arrived, so I was asking in the Chat what happen. And they told me, they Request KYC.
So I've asked them to return the Funds, because I dont want to do any KYC for changing 1 Coin to another.
Coinswitch is always advertising that there is no KYC to Change one Coin into another.

Cheers

Seems like something similar to changenow, where they used to advertise that all of the exchanges will be no KYC and prided themselves on being anonymous, but now, they are quite open to holding up people's money with KYC as the excuse to do so.

Honestly, these instant exchangers shouldn't be taken for their word.

Regulators are tightening up on their policies and there is no reason to believe that any instant exchanger, despite their current status, will be able to withstand these types of regulatory pressures for a prolonged period.
