Cheers for the explanation on that. Like I say, I'm new to this game - it's all a learning game!

And to think I had a mate practically screaming at me to get into this back in 2011 when BTC were $3 a go.....

Hindsight eh? Smiley
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [eToken] You can now bet eTOK on eToken Dice ! on: January 09, 2014, 04:26:52 PM
So, Block 30k came in, my group alid-error.com/ found it, and I didn't get any shares of this.....
http://etoken.valid-error.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=round&height=30000

Am I just unlucky? I was contributing around 1% of the groups hash power - I guess I just don't get why I don't get around 1% of the bounty (or why I wasn't showing any shares for that block) - please someone, put me out of my misery and tell me why.

Cheers Smiley

I'm pretty new to this mining game, but can someone explain to me the following.....

1. Block 30,000 is coming up shortly. I've been mining from around 21k block so have a few coins tucked away, BUT my question is, what's to stop someone jumping in, around block 29,990 and mining (in my pool) and then taking a slice of the 2,500 coins? (assuming same hash power, and we hit the jackpot)

2. I notice in my pool, that I'm not paid a % for every block my pool finds, I think it was 27k or 28k block where I didn't receive a share of the find, and that made me realise I'm missing on various blocks. Is that because my power is contributing absolutely nothing to that particular block? I thought though, that was the idea of a group? You all share the profits of your work equally?

Sorry if my questions sound trivial, but as with everything, you need to learn.....

408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / WTS: Coinye Coins for BTC / LTC on: January 08, 2014, 11:23:31 AM
I have 775K (775,000) to sell.

Looking for offers in BTC, LTC.....

I will only trade in multiple small batches between myself and the buyer, to minimise chance of problems.

PM me. Thanks Smiley

Don,

Before you sleep, set one of your miner to coye.cryptopools.com as your primary pool with a backup pool to something you are mining now.  Once coye.cryptopools.com comes online, your miner should switch over to it.

Hi everyone, can someone just have a quick look at the code below for CGminer - I think it will help some of the other newbies out there (if I've got it right).
I've used it before for a fallover to the middlecoin.com pool, BUT I've never had the opportunity to know if it will REVERT BACK to the 1st pool listed (in this case coye.united-miners).

So what I want to know is, will this code instantly jump on to conye once it runs live? If not, what do I need to change?

Cheers in advance

well after hours you should not see a blank field! Is the rejected column blank, too? You should show us your cgminer/bfgminer call statement! There seems something wrong

Thanks.

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://net.smalltimeminer.com:3336 -u ellave.1 -p x -o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u 1Gud1MyEd3hYSWjG291q6eSKN1qo68v8NC -p x

I use cgwatcher its set to middlecoin as top priority, I have 2 rigs going do they have to use different wallets?

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u 1Gud1MyEd3hYSWjG291q6eSKN1qo68v8NC -p x

Try that - I've removed the smalltimeminer references for you.

The new EU pool is working a treat for me. Cut my Reject rate down from around 8-10% to just 2%.

Does anyone know if that's because I'm actually from Europe? ie the server is closer to me, compared to the US server?

Or could it just be that the current coin has changed?
413  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum won't open on my PC, so I installed on another with my seed and no coin on: December 17, 2013, 10:20:28 AM
All sorted! Thanks for the help!

Just one thing - if I have Electrum installed on both PC1 and PC2, I can control the wallet from either machine? Correct?

I'm just thinking, backup wise, in case something goes wrong with either one of the computers.
414  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum won't open on my PC, so I installed on another with my seed and no coin on: December 17, 2013, 08:09:54 AM
Backup your electrum data directory on PC1. You can find it by doing the following:

Go to Start -> Run (or press WinKey+R) and run this:

explorer %APPDATA%\Electrum

Usually this means:

C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Electrum

Backup that entire folder and copy it to the same relative location on PC2. See if electrum starts up on PC2 and you can see your balance.

Sorry for not getting back sooner....

Anyway, I tried this, and I encounter the exact same problem when I do this. Electrum fails to start up on PC2.
I swap back the Electrum folder that PC2 originally has, and Electrum opens - but that doesn't help, as my coins are in my PC1 folder.

What's the next step for me to try? Thanks Smiley
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [FZ] Frozen | CPU and GPU Mining | No-Premine | on: December 16, 2013, 03:00:10 PM
Sorry guys, I'm buggered if I can figure out why I'm not able to update my block source - no active connections.
For refence I've added all the following nodes to my frozen.conf file. Also, I've tried it from 2 different computers, but still, no connection.
HELP PLEASE! Thanks in advance Smiley

What operating system are you using?

Windows 7, 64 Bit....

Sorry, I should I said!
417  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum won't open on my PC, so I installed on another with my seed and no coin on: December 15, 2013, 09:27:20 AM
Hi

I installed Electrum on PC1, anyway, after it closed, it was no longer able to be opened.

So, I installed it on PC2, using my seed.... I thought that this would automatically show my assigned bitcoin addresses from the original installation - it didn't.

Consequently, I don't know how to see the Bitcoin address I've had some payments sent to from Middlecoin.

Can someone give me a step by step walkthrough how to get the software opening again on PC1, and to ensure my BTC address (and coin) is safe.

Thanks in advance Smiley
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GRA] Grain - New PoW/PoS coin | Fast, secure, super bonus blocks on: December 14, 2013, 04:57:53 PM
sigh should have read the forum.. dint realise the altminers pool was down... i think i wasted at least 5 hours there...

Oh well... Forks good

Likewise - how annoyed was I this evening when I got home to see that my entire 5 hours in there was wasted..... also tried to contact them through their website to find it wouldn't accept a message either.....    Undecided
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][POOL] GrainCoin Pool - PPLNS - VarDiff - Stratum on: December 14, 2013, 04:47:00 PM
Any idea why I haven't seemed to have any payouts on this pool? had it connected for the last 5 hours or so, and nothing is showing in my confirmed or unconfirmed balance - zero...... that's with around 750kh/s thrown at it.
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] SexCoin pool started | STRATUM only | 2% fee on: December 10, 2013, 10:21:26 PM
Cheers GoaHeadz for that.

I "think" I'm up and running now, BUT in my statistics on the cryptominer.net site, my hash rate is showing 0kh/s....
is that normal - ie it will show up at a later time, or should it show up pretty instantly?

Does anything look particularly wrong with my setup here?

Thanks in advance Smiley
