$50 for the name and address of "Vod" in BTC. If you have the info and can at least show what you have is worth my time I will accept using an escrow for the bounty. His username link here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=30747I will also pay $5 extra for any phone number that is related to him or his family. Thank you. The only person that has that information is me, and I won't sell it for $50. How about $50,000? And just what are you planning to do with my information? You can just wish me season's greetings here on the forum. Don't be so heartless, he wants to send you a nice Christmas card. The gesture is priceless so you shouldn't demand $50,000

One thing for sure.. a couple people have been dead on the mark and their perspective lets me know that im not going crazy and that i am getting through to not only the mods but everyone reading this thread too! I was re-reading this thread and it seems $username has been calling it how he sees it the whole time! He has been money and i will use him and another member as an example to show that im not coming out of left field when i say there is a huge flaw in the forum and i have been taken advantage of because of it.
There is no 2factor, no email verification when a users email is changed .. nothing. That in combination with the allowing of accounts to be bought and sold (WITHOUT A SIGNED MSG FROM PREVIOUS OWNER) i believe creates and environment perfect for the manipulation of the flaw.
Just posting here to let you know I'm in a similar boat so this is no means an isolated case. My account got hacked which could have been prevented had email confirmation been enabled on this forum to begin with. The only difference is no one has stepped up to dispute my claim to my account yet. Unfortunately, I haven't received so much as a peep from theymos and I've been sending him weekly PM's since Sept. in the required signed format outlined. Frankly, I don't understand how a forum so lax in security can be used to conduct any serious business or money related matters -- this is just ludicrous. Your forum password is the only line of defense and should that be compromised -- whether your fault or not -- then it's basically game over. There's no other recourse then to keep PM'ing forum admin until they respond. If it were up to me, this is clearly an open-and-shut case: you provided a signed message proving ownship of said account -- the current person in control of your account cannot provide a signed message proving he bought the account legitimately. Ergo, account access should be restored back to you. Sorry to hear about your expierience man, that sucks. Thats the part that pisses me off too. For some reason from our viewpoint its crystal clear a simple email confirmation could have prevented the whole thing. Im a lil tired of spelling it out eli5 style for people like Willisius so i wont even bother. At the least in your case you brought him down with you. The zedicus account is abandoned now. Last time he was threatening to expose accounts but have quietened but thats it.

Not counting non active accounts too I guess? I noticed Mt. Gox Support is a VIP, for example
That number is all the sign ups till date. It also contains almost a quarter of a million sign ups with 0 posts. I don't think there is any way to find the number of active users. The new forum may have an option to search for number of unique log ins in a set time period.

Going by the algorithm it would take well over a year to gain hero status. You can buy an account but people do charge 2BTC+ for one.
Its much less now. I saw one seller trying to get 0.55 BTC and still waiting. All those suggesting the OP about buying a Hero Account should also make him aware of the risks involved. The original owner who sold the account or got the account hacked may come back to claim it, or if the account can be banned if it had shared IP with a lot of accounts which were spamming.

I mean here, members (newbs and all)? Are there any stats on this?
If you are looking for total number then its 381090. For individual break downs, go to MEMBERS from the top, Search for Members, and do Search by Position. Thanks for infos Keep in mind that there are lots of alternate accounts. You may ask BadBear or Theymos how many unique IPs were used to sign up, it would provide a more accurate number.

Bitcoin is not a brand. This forum is not "official" Bitcoin forum.
It is considered the first place to go. Nothing can be official Bitcoin forum as Bitcoin is not owned by anybody. The sooner the new forum comes the better, everyday there are complaints about accounts getting hacked.

Tor is not anonymous how to protect user's anonymity?
The FBI in the US have licenced a software programme called RAP BACK which has many different functions. One function of Rap Back is being able to follow Tor routes. it was the initiation of Rap Back which closed down the darknet markets couple of weeks back. They have also sold licence of Rap Back to UK but it is yet to be implemented. Nothing is anonymous anymore. It takes a lot of resources to track anything, and even then its not assured. Unless an individual is doing something big or is under notice particularly then there is no need to panic yet.

Bring it in attention of default trust members and see if they agree with you. Tomatocage would be an ideal candidate.
|
|
|
You are aware the only reason anybody will pay the high price for positive trust is to use it to scam. This is assuming you are indeed the real owner and have not hacked this account.
|
|
|
I sent payment yesterday as agreed, are you going to send the account?
You are buying without escrow? Lol, good luck Why bother scamming for dust? SMH. Scammers are low-life losers. You can call him whatever you want, he still is enjoying your money. If it makes you feel any better, even if he had given you the account, the previous owner who sold or got his account hacked could still come back to claim it or you could be banned if the account was a part of a farm. Let this be a lesson to all account buyers.
|
|
|
In the end why are you so bothered? Your buyers can see your feedback and see that you are a reputed seller.

Badbear, administrator of bitcointalk has started a campaign against account sellers.
About time, as the spamming across the boards is quite obvious. The account sellers have no accountability. They can sell accounts sold through dubious means and simply vanish. They also don't discriminate amongst their buyers and are happy to sell to negative trust accounts.

Quite likely it is this account. If so it would be filled with junk posts. i'll buy this account "Full member + avatar + creation date before 2012" for 0.12BTC
Pm me back if u accept
escrow required
Buyers should insist on proper ownership credentials. Otherwise they may find the original coming back to claim the account.

|
|
Buyers should be aware that the accounts might be hacked or even that the original owner can claim it back.
