401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TRON] Positron - SHA256 - Dev Doxed Self -- We want to save altcoins. on: April 20, 2015, 12:13:16 PM
OMG the dev still doesn't release the ANN Grin
He own a design company with few designer (as he said in the OP) and need how many weeks to release that ANN with infographics and promotion images?
That's pity to see you guys falling in that trap again but good luck.

Yes. This is starting to become very concerning. I've been refreshing the OP to see the updated announcement but it's been days now and nothing's forthcoming.

What this crypto is exactly and what issues/requirements it is addressing is fundamentally important. There needs to be a statement on what areas of adoption for real-world use it's looking to achieve. People need to see what the vision is for long term growth and usefulness that will attract users of the currency, not just speculators.

At the the moment it's looking very much like people are just waiting for the pump so they can offload all their holdings and buy back in when it slumps back down. That's not a future, that's a small bunch making big bucks and a whole lot being burned.

I'd like to see far more from the dev on the vision and what this is genuinely about/for.

I'm trying to keep up with all this. I can show you some of the material that was submitted, I was unhappy with much of it so I delayed things on purpose. I'll have a roadmap website up today. We're still in the distribution phase and creating a massive amount of TRON a day. Once we come closer to the end of this, things will look proper and the PR work will go 100%

Okay. As I noted in a previous posting, the demands on your time will escalate and become extreme going forward so you'll need to run this with project management like attention and prioritisation.

A proper ANN and roadmap is fundamental though. It's good and all to be talking about masternodes and whatnot, but sound answers to the questions "What is Positron for? Who will use it? How will it be adopted? Why would someone choose to acquire some Positron?" are the bedrock of whether it has a future or is just another flash in the pan P&D.

403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TRON] Positron - SHA256 - Dev Doxed Self -- We want to save altcoins. on: April 19, 2015, 11:40:02 PM
Can dev increase the time on 21000 block reward to 50000 blocks or so and than 9% reward every year
Because some new investors are just started to stake now and benefit
I wish the reward goes 9% everyday not year haha  Huh
Amazing
Thanks dev

Aw heck....let's just go the whole hog and get him to announce a Tron version of quantitive easing with an extra 50,000 coins a day until further notice. We're all gonna be rich!  Grin
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TRON] Positron - SHA256 - Dev Doxed Self -- We want to save altcoins. on: April 19, 2015, 12:18:25 PM
So this coin too is going to have master nodes?? If so what is the plan for amount needed to run one?? Thanks

Yes but it's not my first priority. It's being outsourced right now and I'll be looking over it and testing before we implement it. I'm working on a communication platform first, website, etc.

I'm working on the roadmap, going to rest now.

I'm liking what I'm seeing here. As one of the top holders I want to say thank you for coming clean about everything and turning this into a professional business venture. More money will be coming on each delivery of a working feature set, be it master nodes or otherwise. Unlike the pump n dumps this will be seen as buy the rumor, REALLY buy the news.

Thanks. I'm really putting everything into this, and I have another nice piece of project funding coming tomorrow.

I think this the coin I can just pour all my crypto ideas into, and I have tons. I'm working right now... didn't feel like sleeping... on adding a custom IRC client in the Positron wallet and a ticker with marketcap info right in the wallet. I made this before but I'm going to add everything I can to this coin, eventually open source everything.

I think I found a career, and I don't intend to screw it up.

Hey Cryptowest,

You certainly are full of great ideas and a great level of energy.

Just remember (if I may) a few rules for your health, sanity and clarity of what you're trying to do:

Eat well, take time away from the keyboard outside in the fresh air and don't let yourself get consumed (which can easily result in physical exhaustion). Many of us have to, on occasions, be dragged kicking and screaming away from our keyboards when we're in the middle of trying to fix some elusive problem or get something critical that's terribly exacting finished. Sometimes the very best thing is to go for a walk and let your subconscious (and the greater universal mind....that's a bit of philosophy for another time!) do its work in the background which then often results in brilliance flooding our consciousness that never would have happened if we didn't go for a walk.

Don't over commit. Please don't take offence at this, we all suffer from it, but you're already often saying "2 - 3 days I'll have that finished" yet you have enormous volumes of stuff to do now, plus you'll be fielding many requests from people to talk to you. You need to manage your time and work flow very effectively. And (here's the big one) you'll need to get good at saying "NO!" because if you fall into the age old trap of agreeing to do too much you'll fail. I can't stress this aspect enough.

Don't try to be everyone's friend. You absolutely cannot be. You already have considerable experience of how easily you can be let down and how easily everything can turn pair shaped. To stay the course you must be nimble, prudent and a minimalist. I'd be thinking very carefully just exactly what is your philosophy for the wallet. Who is it directed at and who will use it? We've all seen thousands of whacky ideas being touted by various devs on what's going to be in their wallets. Often one wonders whether they're smoking something pretty strong when they write up their posts. Take a leaf from Steve Jobs' MO and continually ask "who are the users of this and how does this specific feature address their likely needs/desires?"

Remember to have fun. Don't get too serious with it all. What you're doing is great but if you end up turning into a workaholic dev who's become a complete stranger to his family/significant other you are going to be failing in areas of your life that are the backbone of success. This is SOOOO important!

Just a few tips from someone that's been around a while....  Wink

@Cryptowest

Can you elaborate on how much TRON one must hold to secure a CEO position?

I think you might be asking an ARCH related question in the Tron thread? (Unless I'm confused too)
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: April 17, 2015, 06:46:15 AM
I think I rambled on way too much, my question/points were:

DASH needs development and needs to grow, because it's the best solution out there IMO and in other's opinion, and we want to see it take over the world.

To succeed, DASH needs to grow.  It needs a super easy interface for the masses, one that makes it super easy to keep your funds safe.  It needs mature services.  loans? how does that work in a decentralized, deflationary economy?  Stock market, other infrastructure.  Unlike Banks, DASH and the masternode system lend themselves to many other solutions such as a decentralized exchange, a decentralized market place, a decentralized private internet.  The sky is the limit, and it's natural for DASH to expand in these ways.

But who will pay for all this work?  The potential is there, but funds are not.  Are there decentralized ways to fund a decentralized autonomous corporation, perhaps using this new voting system for decision making?  That could earn money to pay for future development?  Does anyone see a way that this could work.  It's not easy!  If this entity, like Andreas Antonopoulos explains, can own it's own funds, and spend them when needed, this is very intriguing.  How would projects get the green light?  How would this entity be funded?

Do you think, as I do, that something like this must happen for DASH to survive into the distant future?

Tante you haven't rambled at all. You've put up an incredibly important set of questions and points about the future of Dash (and frankly all open source based 'community' style projects). There can't be too much emphasis placed on how important the points you've raised are.

I'm in the middle of something so can't give it my attention right now, but hope to respond in teh next day or two (and I'm sure Toknormal, Bridgewater and others will be busily thinking about what you've written too).

dev any update about mac wallet Huh

I posted a mac build earlier in the thread. But, you'd be taking a risk that I am not trustworthy.

I used one of NSCrypto's builds (when the dev was offline back a few days ago and the QT wallet had stopped). I only used it for a short while but at this stage none of my coins have been stolen nor my bank accounts cleaned out so I guess he's either chosen to ignore all those inbound key-logger strokes he's collecting or there's a surprise awaiting me on a future date.  Wink
Get keepass. It's pretty hard for a keylogger to know what ctrl v means.

Yeah I know; it's good. The only thing is that I have a pretty good memory and I have probably around 40 passwords memorised allowing me to logon to various things on multiple different devices. If I started using something like KeePass I'd pretty soon lose the capacity to remember all those passwords and forget them. I know that increases my risk that a keylogger somewhere will then pick up what I'm typing but I don't login to anything on a device that's not my personal property unless it's something where I have 2FA enabled and I also use the onscreen keyboard if it's really dodgy (like a friend's laptop or computer somewhere else in a public place).

Are your passwords structured like mine:

password
PASSWORD
Password
PassWord
PassworD
PasSWorD

Its easy to keep track of those for me.

Duh!

How insightful of you! I'm gonna have to change them all now. Might use something a little stronger like RENEGADEMAN (and variations). Yep, that'll work.

RED TEXT

Clever Graphics.

you are are the epitome of newb fudder.

We all know you're one of RenegadeMan's many sock puppets.  You're just as bad as the trolls!

Spamming useless nonsense in the thread over and over

Ha! I have but one account on Bitcointalk. But I'm flattered you think Good_Samaritan is me. I think he (or she) is very clever with the subtle sarcasm that quite a few are misunderstanding. Bloody brilliant (more brilliant than I could have come up with)!

In the meantime perhaps you'd consider either going away from this thread or being of some use. If you have an intelligent critical analysis to offer that reasonable people would consider to be balanced then you'll be adding value. But if you're just here to put shit on Positron's dev and people that are here taking a keen interest, well.....you know what I think of you.

Check out the new OP!

Holy crap that's amazing!!!

You really are clueless aren't you?

Prior to you coming onto this thread and posting never ending negativity and nasty comments I'd actually been thinking I should check out ShadowCash and see what it's about. But now, those big letters in your signature are completely tarnished by the manner in which you behave. If you are the standard of people from ShadowCash (and I've had a couple of similar experiences before but I'd started to discount them....now it's all adding up) then congratulations, you've just completely turned a potential investor off.

Shame on you for doing such damage to ShadowCash by your pathetic and immature postings. Grow the fuck up.

Ummm...

Made you look?

You grow up.  It was a joke.

Sorry to say that but he's right (i mean RenegadeMan)! Every time when some SDC folks appearing in other coin threads they start to FUD, trolling around or are making dump jokes. What kind of community is this for a coin?! For me it means also to never invest in SDC as long as these childish actions happens.

Disclaimer:  I sold most of my SDC.  I still like the tech.

Why are we talking about SDC in the TRON thread again?

Would you guys be less butthurt if I deleted my signature?

Don't lump me in with the FUDsters.  I make the occasional joke, but I don't usually FUD (unless I want you to dump into my buy order)

i'm so fucking damn tired of these countless copy/paste and waiting for a marketplace to be released so every damn scam coins can mass copy/paste the code
no one even bother to find out which of the old rat hole these motherf@cker scammers came from
scam today crave, positron, archcoin, scam yesterday xc, soniccoin, ocupy, or cloakcoin then scam tomorrow the nonsense names. this is just way too much for me because you dumb morons allow this to happen upon yourself. it's just way beyond the logic believed.

Wow, you know what, you're absolutely right. Thank you so much for your original comment, I will add that copy paste part to my growing list of useful and original never heard before quotes! I agree, it really is problematic to have these constant coins coming out that start cheap and grow exponentially in value over and over again only to sell of before another one comes out and the cycle repeats. There's just too much variet I can't take it. I want 1 single coin OTHER than bitcoin but they keep ruining it for me.

It's insane.. its almost like were a bunch of nerds playing a trading/poker game against one another on a large scale with multiple actors I'm just trying to be an investor in the future here so that one day it becomes millions and millions of dollars. I don't want to learn to trade, I don't want to learn the obvious cycle of this market and trade within it for my gain. I want it easy, and these god damn scammers ruin it for me every time.

You're hilarious Good_Samaritan!

+1 Interesting interview.

Every network that's every solved any major problem in history has done so through functional diversification and service oriented specialisation. Sooner or later cryptocurrency networks are going to have to either face up to that fact or simply sink into the technological quicksand while grinding their teeth into a pulp.

Even the tiniest, most granular eensy weensy decentralised sandgrain of information that can be detected on the internet - a TCP packet - has a heterogeneous, 2-tier structure. It has a head and a tail like a tiny wee sperm, one of trillions a second that float around the world with massive redundancy, fertilising their host receptors and aggregating into ever higher level protocols which are themselves heterogeneous in nature.

Dash has done it sooner and look at the benefits: It's solved the confirmation time problem without loss of security, the fungibility problem without loss of transparency and now it's setting about solving the scaleability problem without loss of efficiency.

And all this time, the fundamental Satoshi blockchain philosophy and protocol that has engendered so much value, adoption and understanding has been barely touched, allowing it to inherit almost all the technological value proposition that those properties entail.

It's a slam dunk. The way forward IMO and just a matter of time before others follow (or get blown away by simple practical disadvantage).

You're a word-smith of tremendous capability (and entertainment!) Tok.

I've been in IT for over 30 years and have never heard of a TCP packet being referred to within a reproductive context!
