I think temporary closed-source is something darkcoin did right. We should do this too. Only until it's widely accepted that we were the first stealth coin - then open it up. It would be far too easy for someone to steal our thunder right now.
+1Meh, I sold all my darkcoin at 0.01 because it was announced they would keep it closed source for the foreseeable future. I'd probably do the same for vert. That's not something I want to support. This coin was made by some self proclaimed hero "Prometheus".
POW is coded to stop at block 5000, POS is coded to start at block 6000. AMATEUR IDIOTS MADE THIS COIN.

dev... bounties?
We have seen other coins on this forum, where pools paid the first few blocks to the miners than stopped paying anything. Now we got some notes from XXX miners, that some pools stopped paying their shares from the mining, many times it was only because pool got DDosed or something, or just the payment cron stopped for any reasons. We hope with XXX there won't be any similar problem, but we made a decision that bounties will be paid only after the PoW stage end, and only for the pools that sucesfully paid all the block earnings for their miners. Hope this will keep pools off from such activities. Moreover the premine question still hasn't decided, if we want that escrows or exchanges hold the premine, we should give them to a specific address, than they would pay it, then list all their transactions to this thread, this would make this more transparent. The voting is obvious that we, the community, would like you to give bounties out and then give rest of premine to exchange. Use some premine to list on bittrex. PoW is ending and if this coin doesn't have a good exchange like bittrex (not ccex) then interest will just fade. |

We are terribly sorry but we have to have another delay. Our test net is highly unstable, so we need one more day to work out the kinks. We understand that these delays are frustrating, but it should be worth the wait. We absolutely want to have a smooth launch. But we have created a brand new experimental coin and getting it deployed correctly is a little tougher than we thought it would be. However, we can say that we have built clients for windows and are able to build daemons for a variety of server platforms. We guarantee you that when this coin launches it will be as fair as possible and plenty of pools will be available. And, with four hours of low-reward blocks, miners will have plenty of time to get set up to mine. It is the same logo as this coin but with flames and a little smoke added on. I think he is trying to say that this coin is attracting attention because other logos look very similar. |

I want to apologize to the miners that was mining on my pool , i did not know that was x13 with charity address so i set up a normal x13 stratum , i contacted dev on pm but he did not answer , i spoke with TheCoinFinder and ocminer on pm about this and i want to apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks to everyone who has supported/mined BritCoin so far. It looks like a successful launch with exception of problems with pool.mn, but these things will happen. Sorry that we have not been able to get back people in this thread, plus note that there have been 90+ posts in about an hour or so, and right now we're concentrating on monitoring the network to ensure everything's running as it should. wallet works on xp And on Windows 3.11 but not in Windows 7 and 8 I have a copy of windows 1.00 somewhere,i will try to run it there.... Works fine in 64bit Win 7 as well full uninstall the Microsoft visual c++ (all versions) then it works perfect windows 7 64 bits I have win7 64 bit and it doesn't work no matter what I do. today i fixit uninstall Microsoft visual c++ reboot and run as adm and works for me I'm no guru but deleting Visual C++ seems like it's just a bad idea. |

If you go scrypt you can have the chance at getting all the new ASIC miners' attention. That is part of what blew Razor up was that it gave scrypt miners something good to mine after period of stagnation. But this puts small miners totally out.
If you go x11/13 then small miners have a chance but then it might turn into rental wars.
I think both are honestly fine in the long run. Can't have everything be perfect as there are downsides to any algo you choose.
