These quotes and others shows that Tim and others at ICONOMI still have some serious communications problems in getting their message across to the public.  These communications problems need to get addressed immediately if not sooner, and should be at or near the top of the priority list.  Are you listening, guys?

There's gaps in my own understanding which I would appreciate somebody correcting.  In particular, what's the difference between DAMP (digital assets management platform) and OFM (open funds management) platform?   Newer and older names for the same thing?  Not clear to me at all, I missed that memo...

Anyway, ICONOMI has three main projects under development at the same time.  First is ICONOMI.performance, which invests directly in new cryptocoin IPOs.  A second is ICONOMI.index, which calculates an average price among a basket of cryptocoins selected by ICONOMI itself, then tracks changes in that price.  Third is the DAMP/OFM platform, which will be a marketplace where anybody can set up and run their own index fund like ICONOMI.index, based on a different personal mix of coins, and then try to attract investors to their fund as a higher-profit effort.  

ICN is a share of ownership in all ICONOMI software and intellectual property, as well as a share of the fees and profits ICONOMI makes from ALL THREE of their main projects, and also from any other efforts they fund in the future (such as cofound.it).  ICNX is a share of just the index-rise profit made from ONLY ONE of these projects.

There will be times where the ICONOMI.index falls, ICNX suffers a loss, but ICONOMI as a whole will make profit on their other projects.  On that day you want to be holding ICN, not ICNX.

There are only two reasons to hold ICN tokens.  

Reason 1 to hold ICN tokens:  You think their price will go up.

Reason 2 to hold ICN tokens:  They determine your fair share of ICONOMI profit from platform fees (OPM), index appreciation (ICNX) and ICO investments (ICNP).

These two reasons existed before today's announcement.   These two reasons exist after today's announcement.  

Today's announcement has done NOTHING to change the benefit level of ICN tokens, or the reasons to hold those ICN tokens.

All that has happened is the METHOD OF TRANSFER has changed to get your fair share of ICONOMI profit to you.

The original plan was to distribute profits to you as occasional DIRECT PAYMENTS called "dividends".  

The new plan is to distribute profits to you as INDIRECT PAYMENTS by raising the price of the ICN tokens you hold.

Before, if you wanted to put the transmitted profit payments in your pocket, you did nothing; they would magically show up in a seperate ETH account.

Now, if you want to put the transmitted profit payments in your pocket, you have to sell an appropriate amount of your more-valuable ICN tokens at an exchange after each "burn amount" is announced.

IF ICONOMI GENERATES ONGOING, GROWING PROFITS FROM OPM, ICNX AND ICNP....

THEN THERE WILL ALWAYS BE NEW BUYERS OF INCREASINGLY VALUABLE, INCREASINGLY RARE ICN TO CLAIM THOSE PROFITS.

THESE NEW BUYERS ARE WHO YOU WILL SELL YOUR "PROFIT" ICN TOKENS TO...NOT DEV "MINI-PUMPS"

The "correct" amount of ICN tokens to sell is that amount making your personal proportion of all ICN tokens held worldwide to be the same both before and after a quarterly burn.

This action transmits the "correct" amount of profit to you, just as if it had magically appeared in a seperate account as ETH.  

Plus, this action assures you have a constant propoortional ownership level of all ICN coins and keeps your fair share of future ICONOMI profits to be unchanged over time.

Plus, instead of being INFLATIONARY like Bitcoin and Ethereum whose number in circulation get GREATER AND GREATER over time, or instead of the original plan for a CONSTANT 100M ICN tokens, the new burn plan makes ICN to be a DEFLATIONARY token whose number in circulation will become SMALLER AND SMALLER.  This means ICN tokens are becoming scarcer and scarcer as (hopefully) more and more buyers come into the ICONOMI system.  This scarcity should be a major factor in driving ICN prices HIGHER AND HIGHER over time.

NO MORE FUD ABOUT UNREGULATED DIVIDEND-PAYING INVESTMENTS = HERE COMES AMERICAN INVESTORS (POLONIEX) BUYING INTO THE ICONOMI SYSTEM !!!

And how is this is different from "I promise Chinese miners will create 12 new Bitcoins worth over $12,000 every ten minutes for the next four years...where is the demand for these new coins?  Just because I mine them, people will jump in and buy?"

If Bitcoin can make an INFLATIONARY coin that is CREATED OUT OF THIN AIR become a success, then I can certainly believe ICONOMI can make a DEFLATIONARY coin BACKED BY ACTUAL FEES AND PROFITS GENERATED BY THE ICONOMI TRADING PLATFORM, INDEXES AND ICO INVESTMENTS become a success, too.  

Instead of "dividends" that choke off American investment, they are now going to replicate "mining" without having a PoW blockchain.  Only in this case, the level of "mining"/burning is REGULATED AND BACKED BY ACTUAL FEES AND REVENUES, not just generated in an open loop with no feedback as Bitcoin does it.  A currency that is backed by actual progress in its use space is superior to the "mine and pray the buyers show up" system pioneered by Bitcoin.

ICONOMI burning coins INCREASES YOUR PROPORTIONAL SHARE in the ICN tokens that are left.  If you then choose to go and sell just enough coins at the theoretical slightly-higher price to PUT ONLY THE TRANSMITTED PROFIT IN YOUR POCKET, then the coins you have left represent the SAME PROPORTIONAL SHARE IN THE ICONOMI PROJECT that you had before the burn / profit distribution.

Speaking of my new (actually 2003) car, I got tired of waiting on the trucking company to ship the car to me for the promised $600.  I was on a business trip to a Florida test lab last week. When I was in Atlanta on the way home on Thursday, I decided to hell with waiting any longer, bought a $127 Atlanta-to-Detroit ticket on Spirit Airlines, rented an Enterprise car one-way for $95, made the two hour-drive north to Bay City MI where the convertible was located, spent $55 at an Econolodge to get a good night's sleep, and then drove my new convertible home the next day on Friday in a 14 hour, 750 mile road trip across Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.  It was fun. The trip took "only" $100 of gasoline, so I "saved" $223 over using a trucking company.  I got to know the car well and decided to name her Elizabeth.  She is a GREAT vehicle, everything I had hoped for and more.  Here she is in my garage at last, needing a good bath.



Here's 1998 Patricia, my faithful and solid ride for many years, who is getting sold next week after being replaced by a cuter, younger filly.  THAT'S an old story....

If I remember correctly I took it down to 0.000229, somebody else took it to 0.000220, and now it is currently back up to 0.000264 less than 12 hours later.  I think there is an important observation here - somebody is buying up all the ICN they can get.  Both of us apparently think ICN is a good thing to hodl, I just needed some cash for a car.

I hope my ICN went into lots of new people's wallets and to lots of new ICONOMI owners.  Somehow I don't think it did.  

Well, I'm still hodling but I have also decided to buy a (somewhat special) used car with around 2% of my ICN holdings.  It's not a Lambo, but it is going to be a great upgrade from my current 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS convertible daily driver.  This one is a 2003 GTS, a very nice step up from my current ride.  What can I say, I like Eclipse Spyders, even if they stopped making them in 2012.  They were never a true muscle car like a Mustang or a Camaro but they are great little cars with plenty of power - and Miatas are way too small for me.  This 2003 GTS has 210 HP before tuning the car's computer chip, which I intend to do.  And I do so love having that top down with sunshine and wind in my hair...
