402  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Question] Old/Broken 5850s Worth Selling? on: April 05, 2012, 11:57:55 PM
I have a handful (~8) of old 5850's from when I was GPU mining (power cost is too high). Some still work, but most have dead fans and one needs the heatsink re-applied. So I'd have to sell them "as-is" and any buyers would need to repair the fan/heatsink. I don't know if they're even worth selling in this condition. Any comments would be appreciated.

do they all detect / are in working order other than the fans?  i'd take the lot if so for the right price..

Also, the captcha should probably only come up after 1 or 2 failed logins, it is somewhat annoying.

Dividends have been paid!  .0044 gross, minus our 0.0015 fee = .0029 BTC per share paid to shareholders!

Just finishing some aesthetics on our new rig before we release some pictures of it!

Stay tuned for our new plan to increase shareholder value!

411  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BMMO - BlockMiners Mining Operations - www.blockminers.com on: April 01, 2012, 04:34:12 PM

On the OP you post the assets held by the company.  Could you also post the current expenses as well?

The current assets held by the company is approximately 13,000 mhash worth of radeons consisting of 5830's 5850's 6870's 6950's 7950's and 7970's.  I believe there are currently 44 GPU's, 8 motherboards, 10 PSU's, 2 PDU's, etc etc.  Expenses are around 120 BTC a month at the moment..

However, this is pretty irrelevant in BMMO's case because Blockminers remains a private company.  Our BMMO asset represents 1 mhash of bitcoin mining power in our system.  We take a (currently) .0015 fee to cover expenses etc.  Our obligation to shareholders means that we will maintain the mhash's provided, using whatever equipment we see fit to do so and maintain profitability.  IE:  our fees remain lower than the gross output of a mhash.

Thanks! Hopefully no one sold because of it..  Actually that brings up a feature request..  Need a "shareholder of record date" function in GLBSE.  This is common practice in the "real" exchanges.

Could you explain this a little more please.

I'm not his spokesperson and reserve the right to be wrong but what I understood is a feature request that would enable to pay dividends to the list of shareholders "as of the date = date entered in the dividend payment form"

so if I pay dividends each Sunday 6 a.m. GMT but I slept a bit longer and missed my committed time, somebody may have sold the shares at 9 a.m. and me a few hours later (lunch time) wants to set things right and would like to pay to shareholders from 6 a.m. moment.

@teek is that right ^^ ?

Yep something like that.  Can be used for all kinds of things.. right now the record date ends up being exactly when the transaction happens as mila pointed out..  That works ok for now too, but say a company is paying out Q2 earnings in August or something like that, they want to pay the holders of record 06/30 etc..  many other reasons..  Record dates will be handy and probably necessary for certain issues, especially when the exchange grows..

@Nefario - Did you ever have a chance to take a look at my dividend problem from last Sunday?  This Sunday is rolling around, hoping everything works ok.  I think I will try sending a test divi today to check out the situation..

OK, this is done, everyone that didn't get a payment has gotten one (as long as they haven't sold their shares since then).

Nefario.

414  Economy / Marketplace / Re: List of GLBSE Non-Active/Scam Assets Shares on: March 31, 2012, 07:01:09 PM
In the trading forum, shakaru says he is still working on the website stuff so that will probably not be up until may. If I was an investor in this I would demand screenshots and daily statements of trades made, because as it stands now, shakaru can pretty much just take the money himself and say the bot lost it. Seeing how shakaru is a known thief, scammer and liar I think the odds of him doing something like that is pretty high.

AFAIK shakaru's current status is bankrupt, that is he's declared himself bankrupt and is in the process of dealing with his creditors. Normally a person in this situation would be unable to get loans or certainly sell shares (or be the director of a LTD. company) until they get themselves out of this situation.

I would think that a person would need to be in a situation of good standing to be able to make loans or issue shares and so on.

Does everyone else consider this to be a reasonable action to take?

Shares are already issued and sold.  The one issue runs for the month of April, which starts tmrw.  I own a few of those shares and would like to see what happens with it.  If you want to bar him from issuing new assets / shares thats one thing, but freezing him out totally isn't going to help anyone get any money back, myself included.  As well I gotta say, I don't know much about Shakaru, only really dealt with him on one item, but had no problems with the transaction.

it's probably easier to notice a popup  than search the site for a code
chrome has also issues displaying the frames around text fields
why not using other browser?

I'm not using another browser because I like my browsers to use less memory, not have excessive memory leaks, not crash and when/if they do crash, I don't like them taking the entire browser with it, instead of just that tab.  I also detest the fact that I must restart FF ever time I install or remove a plugin.  That got old back in 1995 when Windows 95 came out.  It's 2012 and yet FF still forces the issue.  Not only does it force you to restart when you remove a plug in, but it forces you to restart for nearly every single plugin you remove.  If you remove 10 plug ins a the same time, yep, you guessed.  Restart the browser 5 - 10 times.  heh.  30 tabs open in FF?  Want to leave your browser open for a couple weeks?  Hope you have over a gigabyte and a half of free memory!  FF is idiotic, that's why I don't use it.

I assume the reasons not to use IE go without saying.  Opera?  No thanks.  What's that leave that's even worth a mention?  Nothing... so there you have it, that's why I use Chrome.

I just tried doing that a few times and got the same error. My 1.0 assets showed up in about five minutes.

Didn't work for me... I still have nothing in my account from v1.

@Inaba - I pretty much use soley chrome too these days so i'm with you.  However, I had similar troubles moving to 2.0, and even after I checked a couple times, I still ended up making a typo copying one of my codes by hand causing a similar problem.  If this has already been mentioned / tried please ignore this , but have you triple checked the code is correct?

Hi all!  We sent out a test dividend today of 1 BTC, just to make sure the dividend distribution is working correctly in GLBSE 2.0, and it is!  This dividend is on the house,  real dividend coming tmrw!

On the portfolio page, when will the history be cut off, or will it continue to add trade history to the tables in the Portfolio page?

Right now they just continue, but eventually we're going to have to limit the numbers.

What do you think is an ideal number?

I'd like to be able to pick from / to date and get results back to the beginning of time .. probably not alone on that one.

Orderbook View
I'd like to see BUY orders on the lower left, sorted from HIGH to LOW
I'd like tio see SELL orders on the upper right, from LOW to HIGH
much like so:

but with even more info, eg accumulated volume for each order level with AVG price.

Looks like this has been done, but the bids should be in the opposite order.

Was just about to say that! Cheesy
