lol vrm  (-29.60%) High crash
now 1 vrm =  Angry$0.36
why?

Bad News

No not bad news but basically no news.  The product they came out with is a failure or to technical for simple people like myself and a lot others to understand.  Only the die hard cheerleading understand the complexity of what is being done.

So since people don't understand how VRM helps VRC people are not interested and don't see much of a future.  So right now there virtually no volume.

Right on most points but, not a failure at all! Does anyone here understand patience? Is this entire industry just a bunch of "instant gratification" kiddies? I know most of you could give a rats ass about the technology, all you want is instant profit but, there are plenty of others who will wait, quietly, and accumulate and trade until it all comes together. The "die hard cheerleaders" as you put it, will be the winners in the long run due to that little aforementioned word: patience...

Sys coin 2.1 was supposed to come out in June, then July, then early September. Lesson devs are trying to sucker in as many people as possible

Get a life newbie, these are highly respected developers who would rather wait then deliver a broken product like so many others in this industry. When it's ready, it will be available. Period.

405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: September 25, 2016, 12:20:23 PM
David, are you coding alone or did you hire a team to code with you?

Alone, never been able to find coders to help. I've tried but unfortunately most devs are lazy or lack the ability. I attempted to hire in SE Asia and they were way too slow and didn't even commit a single line. It would waste more time to teach them than to do it myself. A few other coders have been very slow to reply to emails or have tried a refactor and quit after about a day of work leaving me with nothing to commit.

So I've done 100% of the code. As for the daemon we use Blackcoin source which has been very reliable. Rat4 added some nice cold staking commands so that was helpful. And I was one of the people to message the Bitmessage dev and encourage Aetheros to fix the source of Bitmessage which is what I use to make decentralized markets.

The code itself is almost 50k lines. I could reduce it by making it more modular but it's a bit late for a refactor. I don't host on github since I've got doubts that enough people would commit and it would more likely get forked and cloned with dubious ideology. So we host on github after we finish. Also you can download source directly in my server and build from that with variable names changed which is good enough for audits.

Any plans to start the peg? I think templates are great, but pegging is where we attract most of the people to our coin. They will see a price increase and go whaaaa? And this interest will go. I'm a bit worried since, talking about the details is one thing, but implementation may be hard? Can you start the peg or at least spec it out first? Thank you

Templates are great and all but to all other outsiders. It means nothing. The reason is because there is no marketing or explanation about it.

Ideally, you want your marketing team to take screen shots of the new templates and explain what they do and paint a story about how its used. Or videos about it. So far I see none of that, which is why the coin is illiquid. And stagnant and outside of top 100 on coinmarketcap without any volume, so I think shifting gears to peg may be better.

No the client needs to be finished completely first. Investing is a game of patience and coding requires extreme patience. I've already delivered decentralized markets and totally transformed the client as promised. The rest will come soon enough.

Absolutely agree! Would you put wheels under an engine and call it a car? No, the features need to be finished and tested, and being used before there would be meaningful value in pegging.

406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRM] Verium PoWT Reserve | Commodity | scrypt² | CPU mining on: September 24, 2016, 03:03:55 PM
pls tell me why you ppl mine vrm??

It's profitable to mine. That simple.

what ?? lol how much you make in a day??  Grin Grin

Enough to cover the cost of a couple of quality cups of coffee at work a day. That's enough for me, profit is profit.  Grin

obviously the guy attacking this stuff is a cunt and likely has little man syndrome, like my neighbor's chihuahua that barks it's ass off everytime my 80lb hound calmly walks past.  that said, i would like to know specific plans for growth and implementation.  all i've heard so far is: a "viral marketing campaign" which frightens the hell out of me.  there's SO MUCH MORE TO TALK ABOUT.  i want to see more discussion of unique features of this coin solving real world problems via adjustable block rewards, scaling, increased decentralization through superior user experience, etc.  so, this cunt actually gains credibility when responding to his barks with "you're on drugs", ...you're just barking at a chihuahua, be the hound.

@veryveryviral  is that you?? lol poor ppl invest on your shit coins lol

no.  actually i too have been openly critical of some of his efforts.  i'm curious what motivates you.  as far as i can tell you get off on the user interaction, which is a passive aggressive thing lonely people tend to do on the internet.  maybe i'm wrong but you seem to pretend you're amused by your own comments as you anxiously wait for others to respond to your nonsense.  i had a girlfriend in junior high that sent messages like this post breakup.  if you are intending to help others by preventing them from investing in a "shit coin" you should probably be aware of the reactionary nature of your attempts, filling your comments with "lols", fifteen question marks and repeats of the same rhetoric is likely some of the most effective marketing that could be applied via text.

that said, i feel the need to ask YOU dolores12, "@veryveryviral  is that you?Huh"

Excellent analysis. I've been wondering the same thing...
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRM] Verium PoWT Reserve | Commodity | scrypt² | CPU mining on: September 24, 2016, 02:58:09 PM
So noone can confirm whether ocminer's standalone cpuminer works or not? does anyone know of a standalone cpuminer that works for solo mining?  Roll Eyes

This is best solominer I've tested: https://github.com/tpruvot/cpuminer-multi
./cpuminer -a scrypt:1048576 -o localhost:3333 -u user -p pass

port 3333, shouldn't it be port 33987?

I have tried this miner but I don't see the hashrates at all and the cpu usage drops from 75% to 10-20% many times while the client miner stays at 75% full time (3threads), what miner do you guys use for win7 x64 ?

Using the Verium wallet:

H/m: 1247

Last 24 hours: 2 blocks for 13.41 Verium

6 or 7 of 7 processors engaged, depending if I'm using the machine for other tasks or not, on a Dell Precision M4700 Multimedia laptop with Core i7 @ 2.8 GHz with 16 GB RAM running Win 7 Professional 64 bit.

Est time to block hit: within 45 hrs

Also running 2 more similar machines with similiar results.

Pretty damn cool if you ask me...
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] VeriCoin PoST Currency | [ANN][VRM] Verium PoWT Reserve on: September 24, 2016, 02:34:54 PM
The consensus pairing will bring new attention to VeriCoin as it will be the only coin whose transaction performance increases proportionally with the security of the consensus across two independent chains with competing interests. Now, one would be able to get a better and better performing currency for almost no transaction fee cost, this makes for a good currency. With that it is simple numbers, more security, more tx/s, constant cost. This equation currently doesn't exist in crytpo.

First however, we need to enable the best possible technological environment for Verium's consensus success. By improving the efficiency and optimization of the in wallet solominer, solomining can be an integral part of the consensus. This in conjunction with GPU inefficiency, makes mining not too costly and increases power and value with numbers not with few heavy hardware investors like current PoWs. This means a real decentralized security increase along with performance.

One example of the benefits of the relationship between Verium and VeriCoin: There can much more easily be a blockchain based decentralized exchange between Verium and VeriCoin. Transactions can run parallel to their shared blocks and the address formats are the same. So you need not prove address ownership on the other chain, you know that the address from which coins were sent from VRC blockchain is owned by the same entity on the Verium blockchain. So multisig trading can, on the backend be relatively simple, then all that's needed is a nice front end to match buyer with seller. This is just one example, many more are possible, and many haven't even been thought of yet. People are grossly underestimating the power of the coin pairing, but I would expect them to, it hasn't existed in this way before.

I am afraid that was above the abilities of the trolls to comprehend Wink

I would say it's above their abilities to even read it.

price going down. looks like the hype died down too soon. no v2.1 release date yet?

And now its going up... Business as usual in Crypto world. The only metric that really means anything is the 7 day trend and even that is pretty short. Give it a day or two.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: September 24, 2016, 02:15:09 PM
another big dump today damn...

eh, no worries really. Those who dump now will be less to worry about later when the value of BitBay really starts to take off.

Is there a command line switch for starting the Verium wallet with mining activated?
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLOAK]CloakCoin|X13|PoSA3|CloakShield|Trustless Anonymous|Security Audit on: September 21, 2016, 08:39:26 PM
Just fyi:

Monero was copy from bytecoin.
shadowcoin was copy from blackcoin & later monero

So you are wrong. Crypto is copy cat world!

I know Monero is Cryptonote based (natively including ring signatures), very improved and with new features later and still now.
I know Shadowcash is a merge of Bitcoin base and ring signatures system taken from Cryptonote.
I know Cloakcoin is Bitcoin base + Coinjoin code configured to use random nodes, + Onion routing (taken from Tor ?)

What I wanted to say, is, once your cryptography, technology, system and code are innovative, improved, complex, huge... there is no interrest for somebody or a band of people to clone this coin. Too much work to understand it perfectly, modify a little bit to say it's different and new (and still working...), and impossible to reach the community level power of the original opensource coin that they copied. Each dev team and community of the original opensource coins will always understand better and control better and improve better and faster their sourcecode and be a step forward of those who copy and have not the same experience, skills and community. It's why Monero and Shadowcash are not copied now. The smartest way to get benefits of their code is to join the project, help it and get money in return, instead of wasting time, money energy to make a pale copy always a step behind the strong original.

Of course, there is always a risk. But if the secret code of Cloak is so fantastic, I don't know what you are afraid of. And a lot of people could help to find and fix the bugs and flaws, instead of one dev (yes, statistically there ARE such many unfound bugs).

A this stage, nothing to lose, much to win. Other coin are opensource and prosper from community contribution, without being copied. Of course, it's not compatible with dictatorship.

And, it's the beauty of opensource, we could even dream that a new Cloak contributor could merge a system like opensource InstantX from Dash or Zerotime from VCash (Vanillacoin) into Cloak, and it would definitively be a terrific coin.

Of course, all this is supposing that Cloak's Bitcoin+nodelessCoinjoin+Onion is really a anon system as great and revolutionnary as everybody says (but nobody in public is able to verify that because of closed source, so, no interrest in Cloak). The original Coinjoin has flaws in privacy and anonymity. If the improved nodeless Coinjoin by Cloak dev + Onion is a combination proven to be really innovative and secure, and with new original code, you should no worry to be copied, like I said above. You'll attract people, who will help Cloak, success, without copying. Better to get onboard the train than re-inventing the wheel from zero...
I have been with the devs on the no open sourcing but this post has some very convincing arguments. I would think at this point open sourcing would be a major improvement.

Or, at least, give the code to Poloniex to get CLOAK listed. If it gets copied at least we know where it came from.
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ONEC] Project One | Decentralized peer-to-peer Digital Eco-System on: September 21, 2016, 04:51:05 PM
They talk about ONEC like separate project. It is enough for me. Few weeks ago they talking about switching CLOAK to new ONEC, and ICO. Now they are talking about CLOAK and separate ONEC. Calculate alone...

If they continues with cloak development, I have no problem with it

about one, let's wait what they will present and everyone alone can decide whether to participate or not

Makes sense. I think it's only fair to trust c4shm3n seeing what he has done so far. He was stuck with a huge amount of Cloak as many of us were when things went bad. I don't see him loosing that investment just to start another. Patience is the order of the day.

No, not really. So, please don't speak for the "people", we are doing just fine, no worries...
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: September 21, 2016, 04:40:49 PM
David's Back!!!! This is great news

Sounds like he never left, just took a few days off. Well deserved I should think.

I was moving, had to fly to Mexico City for a week to take care of some personal stuff, had to organize the new house and have been selling my trailer and stuff. There was a bunch of other things too. In order to keep my freedom and avoid 9-5 had to come up with a strategy to lower my expenses so I lost a month or so. I did some coding but it wasn't enough. I did code a really cool anti-keylogger password thing. It's badass. Say bye bye to screen recorder and loggers. Plus I fixed allof the bugs and sync problems so the software is really robust. I started hosting the nodes myself since I noticed the old ones were down.

Anyways I'm on the contract now lol my friend is managing me. I'm also doing one for him we have a list of habits to break... no eating out, hitting the gym daily etc. Stuff we are forced to do or lose our deposits. Most importantly many hours of coding daily.

I have to sign off on it daily applying for daily time extensions and report back how many lines of code I contributed and what the code was.

He's working on a different project related to construction. It's a spreadsheet with a cost breakdown of all the alternative building heating cooling methods for low cost decentralized housing. Such as 3d printed housing, Aircrete(Google it, it's amazing), Silo Homes, Earthbags and about 20 other awesome types of construction. Actually anyone who is interested in that can PM me especially if you have feedback on new techniques or want to see the sheet.

Anyways so I might force myself to report here every few days but for now I'm keeping the requirements realistic.

Ya know, what you are describing here as a contract with your friend could be a whole new use case for smart contracts (and BitBay). An entire eco-system could be set up around something like this, one-on-one fitness contracts, weight loss contracts, health maintenance contracts, child care, etc. Might want to think about it a bit more!

By the way crazy news that is of direct interest to investors. I've been busy with life past few weeks so to force me to more productive, I've put myself on double deposit contract with a friend. If I fail to code daily I will lose my deposit a few hundred dollars. Another use case for Halo... ideas in action. So I'm now forced to meet productivity deadlines. If I start to fall behind I will enter in to a few more of these so there are extra peers to confirm I'm working (most likely with someone I trust to manage me). It's a good way to crush procrastination I recommend it to any of you if you guys have unmet new years resolutions lol.

Reminds me of the old phrase "Physician heal thyself" Now thats putting your money where your mouth is!  Grin

fucking clusterfuck  Roll Eyes

How many CLOAK do you own? And what qualifies you to make that judgement?

Why it is important? 1k, 10k or 100k. Even 100 cloak makes him investor

Sure it does but, 0 doesn't. Most people who wish to see their investment come through hard times talk it up, not down.
