401  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Largest Selection of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: April 12, 2013, 09:44:01 PM
We addressed this issue a few days ago.

Before shipments would state "Processing" and then "Shipped." The "Shipped" status does not necessarily mean that the shipment was shipped, but in the queue for being shipped. We now have these three order statuses:

Payment Received
Processing
Shipped

So when an order is received it states "payment received," once it is in the order queue, it will say "processing" and when an actual tracking number is printed it will say "Shipped."

If you placed the same order after today, it would say "Processing" rather than "Shipped"

Ugh. I must have done something to offend them when I ordered then. I have three paid orders with amagimetals the first of which was placed on 4/3, nothing but crickets.
I have one order placed on 4/8 and one on 4/10, and for some reason the 4/10 is indicated as shipped but the 4/8 is not. But the tracking number for the order indicated "shipped" is not found.  I'm glad they're communicative on this thread, though.

Yeah, not saying they're a scam or anything(I placed another order yesterday), I just dislike being told something has shipped when it has not. It'd have been better if I was immediately notified that the products I ordered were out of stock. The two fellers above said they ordered and received AU and my orders are all AG, so one can surmise that they're experiencing a silver shortage, but have or had gold to ship. I just wish I'd heard as much from them instead of "shipped", but not really, particularly given recent events in the ongoing BFL saga.

You actually hit it on the nail. There is a tough time getting silver this year. Products with a delay do state that there is a delay. We hired an additional employee who starts Monday!

We don't hate your guts, I promise. We are thinking about stopping sales, or limiting the products we offer until we get caught up on all current orders and get our stock filled up again. We do appreciate your patience and support.

Purchased 1 oz gold american eagle

Shipped in exact time frame stated ad received quicker than what USPS tracking said

Thank you so much amagi!! will be placing future orders once the bitcoin economy gains traction and would recommend to others of AM services

5/5 and an asset to the BTC community

Thank you for the stellar feedback. I'm not sure when you placed your order, but there are shipping delays right now of a few extra business days. We are working over time and will be working this entire weekend. We are also working on hiring some employees to get our shipping times back in check!

We have changed shipping insurance carriers and can now ship orders of up to $250,000 to select international countries.

At this time we can only take bitcoin orders of up to somewhere between $50,000-100,000 at this time due to Mt. Gox being shut down.

Please contact us for any orders larger than that so we can find alternative ways to process your transactions. Thank you.

While eagerly awaiting receipt of my first Amagi order (one krugerrand that I ordered 4/8/13), I thought of two questions. I ask them here rather than via email because others might also be interested in the answers.

1. How much gold can you safely ship in one order? Specifically, if I wanted, say, 20 krugerrands (or maples, eagles, etc.), should I place several small orders or one big order? Have you ever had a shipment get lost?

2. You mentioned above that you use an electronic gold tester. Can you share with us which make/model, and how well you like it? I asked my jeweler this yesterday, while my wife was shopping for earrings, and he suggested the Auracle AGT2.

1. Domestic shipments (US), we can ship any amount, anywhere as long as we have access to the the coins purchased. Larger orders are sometimes shipped via Brink or other security companies. International varies based on insurance and location. What country are you shipping to?

2. I will have to check with our Quality Control department and get back to you on this!

@barbarousrelic It is our goal to get all shipments out within 24 business hours. However we have NOT been doing that unfortunately. The reason why is because we are understaffed and are shipping out pre-orders placed back in February. We will update the front page to reflect this. Most orders are getting shipped out between 3-7 business days. To fix this we are hiring new employees.

We did OVER $200,000 in just bitcoin sales in the last 24 hours. That is just bitcoin sales. Normally bitcoin revenue is only a small part of our business, but in the last 24 hours it was a large part of our business. We are working overtime and super hard to get your orders out the door. We appreciate your patience and your business. The bitcoin community rocks!

Love the products and prices so I recently placed my first order with you guys. Everything has gone smoothly(bitpay rox), however I've not received any tracking information on my order which is listed as shipped. I've requested clarification via email, but received no response, so I'm a little confused as to what's going on with my order. USPS tracking sux, but it at least provides some information. Without even this information I have no idea whatsoever when to expect a package of not insignificant value to arrive at my door.

Where/When did you send the email? We respond to all emails within 24 business hours. If you have not received a response, please send an email to info@amagimetals.com. Thank you for your business!

We have added 5 gram gold PAMP bars:

We are still waiting to get them from the dealer network, so there is a delay in shipping.
408  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Largest Selection of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: April 09, 2013, 04:45:49 PM
Any chance you might start carrying 90% silver coin face value rolls?

Not for about 6 months. Check back, though!

@boscorocks check back in about two days, they will be listed!

Our 1 ounce gold prices have all dropped by about $10 each. Silver Eagles, Silver Buffalo's, 1 ozt silver GSM, and 10 ozt NTR Bars have all dropped in price. After shipping, our prices are pretty comparable to APMEX, making us the cheapest precious metals to bitcoin company in the world.

I think we also do more bitcoin to precious metals transactions than any other precious metals business. Thank you for all your continued business!

Anyone have any idea where I can find a Discount Code, the cart page shows the site has this option but I can't seem to find any codes available at this time.  Undecided

Unfortunately we do not have any discount codes at this time. However we will have free US shipping discount codes over a certain dollar amount coming soon.

@Thralen We will see if we can get the 5 gram gold bars in stock for now.

Some great news. We have joined a new dealer network, so our prices are going to slowly decrease over the upcoming weeks as our volume increases.

More great news, followed by not so great news. Freedom Girl, Slave Queen, and 1/2 ounce Marijuana silver rounds are coming in, so we are shipping those pre-orders out! Be sure to look for yours in the mail. Some of these orders were made at the end of February, so we have a lot of work and catching up to do on these pre orders. This means that other orders will be delayed shipping out. Shipping times should be back to normal after we have caught up with these orders early next week.

More not so great news. The Royal Canadian Mint and US Mint have sold more silver Maple Leaves and American Silver Eagles than any other year. Demand for these have gone through the roof. The mints have limited sales of these to catch up on production. This has created an even bigger shortage. The shortage is not just an Amagi Metals problem, it is a problem with most online and offline coin dealers recently. What does this mean for you? Purchases of these silver coins may take as long as 2 weeks to ship after today. This is not a problem with any of the gold coins/bars yet.

Thank you everyone for your patience and support!

I was wondering if you had any plans to stock any of the other pamp gold bars such as the 2.5 gram, 5 gram, or 10 gram. I know you have the 1 gram and 1 ounce bars but there is quite a disparate difference in the value between them.

Thank you...
Thralen

We also have 1/10 oz gold coins. Any specific size you would like to see? We will not be able to get them right away, but we would in 2-3 weeks from now.

@iamag Thank you for your business! We are pleased to say that most of our bitcoin orders are over $1,000, and have ranged from $5-$40,000

Crap I didn't mean to hijack your thread, Amagimetals.  But since you sell silver, maybe you guys should try it. Smiley

They don't actually fire. At this time we are only going to sell the individual ones.

www.amagimetals.com

We do about $20,000-30,000/day in bitcoin sales, at least in the last few days. We also have the best prices!
413  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Largest Selection of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: April 05, 2013, 05:16:41 PM
Our prices can now be displayed in bitcoins!!!!!

On the top right there is a currency selector dropdown. Prices can be displayed in British Pounds, USD, Bitcoins, or Euros!

Looks awesome with the BTC price. You may need to increase the number of digits displayed though. Most of the 1% discounts show the same amount as the list price.

We are working on it. Thank you for the heads up!

Sorry for the slow responses. We are doing about $30,000/day in just bitcoin sales over the last few days. You guys are freaking amazing!

Thanks to the bitcoin community we need to hire an additional 1-2 employees. The bitcoin community has CREATED jobs. How cool is that?

We posted an update for some of our pre-orders on Facebook. We should be shipping most of the pre-orders out by next week.

Would you consider reselling these combi-bars, or something similar to them?  Basically a large bar partitioned up into smaller 1 gram bars that are easily broken off (say in a societal collapse where paper money is worth nothing).

http://www.combibar.com

I think it's a cool concept, and while I'm not in the market for them at this moment, I will be soon if btc prices keep going up the way that they are. Smiley

Yes! We actually love these. We haven't found a good place to source them from yet though, so it may be a while before we offer them =/

Would you ever consider selling a wider range of cases on the site, specifically cases for the Silver Eagle and Silver Maple coins? I know Air-Tites and probably others sell them but being able to buy even one of the types of cases ("direct fit" or ring) would be a huge convenience and would save us from having to pay for shipping on an order of just cases from another company.

Yes, we would definitely consider adding cases. We will look into getting them over the next week. We may not get them in stock for a week or two weeks, though.

Question for you. I am in the market for a few ounces of gold bars and I was wondering how you test your wares for authenticity or who you get them from?

I am a bit paranoid about these gold plated tungsten bars going around. Thanks.

The most common fake gold is the 400lb gold bars held by large institutions such as ETF's. The most common fake silver are American Silver Eagles and Morgan rounds. Not sure why there is such a large price difference between the two, but there is.

We do not purchase our goods from individuals, but from dealers and dealer networks. We try and get them from the big guys as they have a closer tie with the mints that make them. Of course to purchase directly from the mints (such as the US Mint, or PAMP) you need several hundred million dollars to place, orders. The institutions who buy from them are dealers who don't sell to the public because they don't want to deal with customer service and high order volume. We purchase from them and some of their dealers as well.

We also do random sampling of our products and use an electronic purity tester.

But... but... but... you told me a week ago you wouldn't... I... hmmm... can I cancel my order and place it again? Smiley

Seriously though, I greatly appreciate you keeping buyer's best interests in check and will be sure to order again (and again).

Oh I forgot to mention. It's the old fee for you. Just you, though Smiley. Haha, just kidding.

No, no, no, we appreciate you guys! We have been doing $10,000-$20,000 in bitcoin sales per day, so thank you for your business!

Our web developer is actually working on our website to display prices in bitcoins. You will notice in the top right corner there is a currency selector already which is the first phase of this process!

We have also added a "Reviews" section on our website (tab on the middle right side), that you can add product reviews or website reviews so you can tell other customers how much you hate our guts...or love us.

Sadly our prices aren't in bitcoins yet. They will be this week, though.

We have dropped our bitcoin processing fees by 50%. They are now only 1.021%, much better from when they were 2.4%
