401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 16, 2024, 02:22:36 PM
^^ Even his first lost is controversial, his 2nd fight against the veteran Oscar Salido, Oscar came in over weight in the fight and so he lost the belt on the scale. But then Loma loses in a split decision but due to Salido coming in the fight over weight Loma was awarded the belt, what a controversy.
That I am not so aware bout this as I starting following Loma after that fight. I thought he was undefeated but then I saw he has one loss against Salido. Thanks for giving light on what happen, now I know, no wonder people are not talking about that loss of Loma.

And then his lost to Teo Lopez, later on we fight that he had a injury in his shoulder.
This one was a legit loss, although he had an injury but he can't make that as an excuse especially if he had that already before the fight but just continue knowingly he isn't 100%. Everyone has an excuse though, but if we'll symphatize on that, it will be disrespectful to Teo who is a great boxer (now a champ).

Obviously, his last defeat against Haney too is a bit controversial, many of us thinks that he did enough to win the fight.
But it was a unanimous decision, if we judge only on the result without watching the fight, we will think he was dominated but it wasn't really that way, that's why it was a controversial decision but we gotta respect that. Anyway, Loma could correct that in a rematch if Haney would allow, but right now he has to win his upcoming fight.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 16, 2024, 07:31:15 AM

Meanwhile, there's this rumor circling in the community about Justin Arana getting traded to Ginebra and he'll be earning over a million per month. This kid must be special to earn that huge amount of money. Guys, Did you read about this rumor too?

If this would happen that means Converge has really no interest in winning a championship. Maybe they are just one of the farm teams now, and of course, we can really say that Arana is a good big man, he is still young and he does a lot of hassle inside. Ginebra already have a big man, but since Japeth is not the same anymore, they need a young big man to go with C. Stand in the paint. This is a great news for Ginebra but bad news for converge.

If that trade does take place, there's nothing to say but just confirm that converge now became a farm team, unlike with the original owner of that franchise, Alaska team manage to do everything to compete they put everything that they just to seek for the title, but time comes that they can't swallow how PBA is being controlled and manipulated by the two giant companies.
Converge had a strong start, they assume the players of Alaska but after that season, they decided to trade their key players like Jeron Teng and Ahamnissi, that was already a sign that they are not serious with winning a title.

And what we are witnessing now is another sign that Converse is no longer seeking for the title but just to go with the flow. If these rumors take place, nothing to say..

So they will add on the farm teams, and that will make it 3 in the league.
1-Blackwater
2- Terrafirma DYIP
3-Converge.

I thought Converge was like Phoenix, but I was wrong.  Sad

When they start acquiring Alaska's franchise they seems to be a promising squad but after sending all those key players to both SMB and Gin kings, it's now showing their true colors, maybe they unable to manage the pressure inside the league or they just wanted to go with flow and let the dictatorship of both Boss Ramon and MVP to rise even more.
There's a possibility, afterall, it's business and they'll make sure that they'll benefit from owning a team. Unfortunately, they are just getting selfish because they are making money but they aren't satisfying the wish of the fans, like making it a competitive league like in the past. I'm sure fans are still gonna watch the game (not only in the playoffs or finals) if there's a major changes going to happen to benefit the fans, that should be their first focus as everything will just follow.

Not unless PBA will add more teams who can really compete and can really throw money, if they only allow choks2go maybe we might see another competitive team inside the league.

I heard rumors about this but it seems like the PBA are not interested with it. Although I believe they already know that the league  is losing popularity, they still keep the current set up of teams, and worst it looks like one farm team is confirm added.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do cryptocurrency increase the standard of living on: February 15, 2024, 11:10:39 PM
It’s not on the cryptocurrency or bitcoin that improves your standard of living but it’s definitely on how you manage your position towards bitcoin. If you are smart enough to take every opportunity that bitcoin offers, then surely you will gain a highly productive result. But if you keep on missing every opportunity that comes and would neglect them instead of going out from your comfort zone and take the risk, believe me, your life will never be productive at all.
404  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do many people fail in trade? on: February 15, 2024, 09:35:59 PM
People fail in trading because they are not capable to win. Not only because they don’t have what it takes to make a profitable trade, but they are also not well prepared enough to trade due to lack of knowledge and skills, and most probably they lack the trading experiences that will make them master their trading. However, some people fail in trading despite of their trading knowledge and experiences, but since they find it hard to control their emotions, and would always based their decision from their emotions, then this kind of people will never win from their trades.

406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: February 15, 2024, 01:03:14 PM
I think Devin Haney only looks like Ryan; if I were to bet, I would bet on Haney because I think he has hidden skills that Ryan doesn't know about him. But of course, this is just my opinion, and I'm just guessing and not sure.
Hidden skills? I don't think he has one.. I mean, he is already good as a boxer, although everyone sees what he can do on the ring, but they can't figure out how to win. Ryan will try his turn to figure out how to beat Haney, but the public are favoring Haney to win making Ryan Garcia the underdog despite his popularity. Well, everyone should understand tha boxing is all about skills, and although I can say that Ryan also has some skills, but Haney has more impressive career now.

But if I base it on his fights, I've only really seen him against Ryan, so it's probably a big advantage and points for him if he wins against his opponent for real.
Better check his highlights if you are referring to Haney. Ryan here is not an undefeated anymore as he fall to the hands of Tank Davis, now, trying a much bigger and probably quicker boxer which.

@robelneo, I saw your thread was locked, so this should be the official one for discussion.

Well, you can’t blame your girlfriend if she acted like that since that’s what she’s been seeing from other couples or girlfriend/boyfriend relationship. Women are said to be more romantically attached to every memorable events in life, while men are less focused on that probably. However, gifting her that amount is not bad at all as long as she’s more practical in life. But you know her better than us, so maybe you also gave her some flowers and chocolates and that money should only serve as a bonus, that is if you really want to make that girl feel special and loved.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP telling people how much Bitcoin you have on: February 14, 2024, 09:59:16 PM
What’s the purpose of telling other people that you have bitcoin? Some would say not to brag but to inspire, but the fact that other people won’t ask or care for it, then you should keep it all by yourself than to disclose it to other people. Otherwise, you are only putting your own investments at risk since people would jump to conclusion that you have wealth in you that would make them feel envy on it. And you’ll only find out that someone has already thinking on how to steal your bitcoin or worst make your bitcoin as a ransom.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 14, 2024, 02:09:35 PM
I was going through reddit in the early hours of today, and came across a user who lamented bitterly through his post, of how unlucky he has been in gambling in the past few weeks, like almost a month now, he said he bets minimum, twice every day, but have not won a dime for the past weeks, and this made him hate himself so much, I sincerely felt pity for him, for I remember one time I lost a huge sum of money to betting, I felt so bad that I thought of killing myself  Grin.

So, let's share our worst gambling experiences, have you ever hated yourself so much due to lack of winnings in gambling? To what extent, and how did it end?
Losing is inevitable in gambling, therefore it must be expected already when you use your money to play. Consistent losses are certainly not funny at all but come to think of it, if you're not happy with what you're doing and it's just giving you stress, making you hate yourself for being so unlucky, do you think it make sense to continuously playing?

In my experience, I also felt the same way when I was a newbie in online gambling and has a high expectation to win. I thought I can double my money in snap and it's not hard. But gambling slap me with the real deal. Thus, if you can't bear losing your money, much better to not play at all.

We all know that, unless we don't want to accept the truth that we lose money. Actually, that shouldn't be a huge issue since losing is part of gambling, it has only become a problem when we lose control like gambling more than our budget especially if that money we loss in gambling is already allocated for something more important, that will make us desperate and instead of stopping and try to find money to replace that losses, we tend to try it again in the same venue we lose more than our budget. We call it stupid, but that's how we act sometimes, we just have to accept our mistake and learn from it.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 14, 2024, 12:52:19 PM
Seems to have a good basis, though if Magnolia manage to win game 6 SMB will be in trouble, they might know that and they might push game 6 and try all their best to win the game.
Right now, they are in a 50-50 chance although SMB is taking the lead in the series. A win by Magnolia in game 6 will not change the status of their match up in game 7. In fact, I believe the series will be more interesting since it has a game 7 and people will be watching, i think the right bet IMO is Magnoli with the spread because if it's going to be a close game, Magnolia might be able to cover the spread.

I guess if following the trend placing your bet for magnolia with a handicap might be possible as they already knew what to do its just so happened that the shooters of SMB got their shots fallen but if those shots did not surely Magnolia might take that game 5, its more on how good you are in taking the risk, we are seeing good competition even its a sister companies that competing for the title, both are hungry and really wanting to win.
They are a sister team, sure they can manipulate the outcome of the game by telling their players to "slow down". I guess I'm not betting now, will be watching it first and try to feel where's the rig favors, then I'll just do a live betting with a very attractive odds and line. Both teams are healthy, it just have to go down on what the league would want to happen, but I'm with "YES TO GAME 7".
It's been Magnolia so far, let's see if things will change in the 2nd half as the 3rd quarter has just started. By the looks of it, it seems like there's a game 7 as SMB hasn't been dominating the game unlike what happen in game 5. The 3 point shooting is still there but Cruz is not as hot as he was last game.

The ball movement of Magnolia is really impressive, they don't usually take 3 point attempts but they'll make sure they get some points inside despite JMF is there to block the shots, they just do some good passing of the ball to confuse JMF.

How far do you know that he’s not into a forum or something connected to bitcoin? Because if he wants to do it secretly, no one will know. However, success in bitcoin investment does not rely on reputable forums or any related activities that caters bitcoin, it’s all on the investor itself. If he’s a highly knowledgeable and skillful investor, then the chances to succeed is definitely high. But that doesn’t mean that he won’t lose at some point, of course he is. But he knows how to conquer his losses and maximize his gains.
412  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? on: February 13, 2024, 09:55:53 PM
Certainly not, since everyone does not have the necessary knowledge and skills that are required for a successful trading. And you can’t expect that what other traders have, some other traders may also have it. We are all unique in every way. And even if you are always taught by a veteran and professional trader, there are really chances that you won’t absorb everything, but by personal experience that goes with some inevitable losses, you will come to see and understand that it’s exactly the same thing what a professional trader is trying to teach you.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 13, 2024, 07:56:12 AM
Finally, the 175 division will be fully unified soon. I voted for Bivol to win by decision. But only because Beterbiev is past his prime although still very capable of beating world-class fighters. Bivol has underrated power and he needs to get the respect of Beterbiev if he wants to survive.

There will be some factors that matter here like the size of the ring. Bivol prefers a bigger one so he can move well and utilize his skills while the 3-belt champion Beterbiev would love a smaller ring so it is easier for him to engage.

And the Saudi host already has someone in his mind for the winner of this fight, lineal cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia.

I based my prediction on how they performed in their last fight and so far Beterbiev has shown a better performance

Take a look at his recent fight against Callum Smith
Artur Beterbiev Crushes Callum Smith at Home | FIGHT HIGHLIGHTS

And Bivol's latest fight
FIGHT HIGHLIGHTS | Dmitry Bivol vs. Lyndon Arthur

Lyndon Arthur lasted 12 rounds against Bivol while Beterbiev punished and eventually knocked Callum Smith in the fourth round and Smith is way better than Arthur
so from this, Beterbiev looks better than Bivol but of course, style makes a fight we have to see this on the night of the fight.

These are just our analysis based on their previous match but it doesn't guarantee that will be the result in the actual fight. Just like most of the boxing fans here, I'm also rooting for Beterbiev to win because I think he is the better and more entertaining fighter, his age doesn't matter because all his fights that he won is via KO, so questioning his capacity using his age as a factor is already irrelevant.

Actually, Bivol was only popular after he defeated Canelo, but it was a close one as Canelo thought he won, maybe wanted a rematch but both camps did not agree on the terms. That's why we have this undisputed fight to know who is the better between the two, so may the best boxer wins.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 13, 2024, 07:00:20 AM
I'm done with doubting the Heat to be honest. Last season, they also didn't finish well. IIRC, they were also in the play-in tournament but they won the ECF by defeating the 2 strongest teams which are the Bucks and the Celtics in the ECF. As long as Butler is healthy, they have a chance to be in the finals again. What we saw in the regular season will be different in the playoffs, so better not doubt them.

Yeah, good results in the regular season sometimes don't mean that a team will do well in the playoffs as well as bad results in the regular season don't mean that a team won't do well in the playoffs. By the way, the Heat are currently in the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, and I personally have no doubt they can make the play-in tournament and probably surprise fans in the playoffs.

It's not going to be a surprise since they've that before. Anyway, how about the Clippers vs Timberwolves game? I think most of us here were rooting for the Clippers to win, but they can't score on the defense of the Timeberwolves, as the road team own the paint and they gave Leonard a huge problem.

Clippers was up after the first half with James Harden last shot beyond the arc, but the 3rd quarter run was just huge, and they weren't able to come back anymore in the 4th quarter. 40-19 (3rd) 32-28 (4th), resulted to a 21 points victory by the Timberwolves.
415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why are people getting scared to Trade on: February 12, 2024, 10:54:24 PM
These people are probably aware that there is high risk of losing from trading. They don't have the courage to trade knowing they failed to acquire the necessary knowledge and experience that trading needs.

Trading is a profitable activity and a lot of successful traders have been living their success already. For those who don't trade, aside from lack of knowledge and experience, it might be that they are still not ready to lose so they try to avoid trading as much as possible.

The next 18 months after bull run will definitely be uncertain so don’t overthink about that but focus on what is current and what you can do to prepare yourself and your bitcoin portfolio when bull run comes. Learn not to expect too much about the upcoming bull run because we are still unsure what will be the price movement that time and how far bitcoin price can go when the real bull run hits the market. Be positive but don’t set your expectations too high.

What are the benefits of cryptocurrency to the illiterate people?
Investing in the right coins will make them prosper financially and physically but since they are illiterate and cannot understand how bitcoin works and its potentials, then they will surely face a lot of challenges in managing crypto investment. However, everything can be learned in crypto but it takes time to make them able to read and write, and understand every thought or idea that talks about cryptocurrency so patience and perseverance are a must.

In addition, cryptocurrency can help them escape from the traditional payment system and use cryptocurrency instead most particularly bitcoin, but in order for them to learn how to use crypto as a mode of payment, then they should acquire necessary knowledge that will make them understand the benefit of crypto as a currency.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 10, 2024, 12:44:42 PM
Where do you think Dinwiddie will end up? He was traded to the Raptors in exchange for Schroeder, but ended up getting waived by the Raptors after he was traded there. He was seen in the Dallas Mavericks game, where the Mavericks faced the New York Knicks. He was also at the Laker game versus the New Orleans Pelicans. He was sitting beside the Lakers' GM, Rob Pelinka. Dinwiddie went to the locker rooms of both teams (the Lakers and Mavs), according to the reports. Sources say that Dinwiddie is leaning toward signing with the Mavs, as he played there from 2021 until 2023. But with the recent comments of D'Lo in his post-game interview, he said that "y'all will get to know him soon." Is that a sign that Dinwiddie will sign with the Lakers?

Regardless of what team he signs, he is a great boost on offense, especially if he is on the bench. But for me, I would like him to sign with the Lakers. With the absence of Gabe Vincent, Dinwiddie is a good replacement for him. It is much better to have nothing. Also, it is just a small risk for the Lakers, as they did not give up any of their assets just to get him. He also played with D'Lo way back when Russell was still in the nets, so I think chemistry won't be an issue here.

I really like Dinwiddie. He was a nice scoring punch off the bench when he played with the Mavs. Actually I didn't like when they traded him and Dorian Finney-Smith to Brooklyn and getting Kyrie in return. Back then Kyrie was inconsistent and on and off the field. Nowadays Irving is back his old self and a solid player of course.
First it will be amount money, who can give him more. But also it's a bout playing time so that you can present yourself in a good way for future contracts. I think with the Lakers he will see more minutes on the field, mostly of course because of the many missing players.
Mavs of course make sense because he knows most of the players already, the trade is not really a long time ago.

Where ever he goes he will be a strong asset, whether if it's in the first or second unit.

I think he'll have a better chance if he will go to the LA Lakers. They need someone like him who are consistent in scoring, and with his playoffs experience, he can certainly help the Lakers in the playoffs. His stats with the Dallas were good, averaging 17 points  a game, and I think that's significant enough if he could deliver that with the LA Lakers.

Lakers had some great defense, it's very evident but they don't have real threat outside, I think Dinwiddie is an outside threat, so they should go with him while keeping D'Lo since his game had improve recently.
Time for him to experiment with other teams, it's not nice to come back to the Dallas when he was already traded. That already happen before when he was traded to dallas (IIRC) from Nets and then he was sent back to the Nets, although this is just purely business but he should choose a game that has a high potential winning a championship. Last season, the Lakers went to the WCF, it coudl happen again this season as long as their ranking will improve, or at least qualify on the play-in tournament.

As for the current standing, Lakers are sitting at the number 9 spot, they are safe in the play-in at the moment but it's nice if they could improve their ranking. Lakers are 6-4 on last 10 games, so we can say they are improving a bit.

Lastly, I like this guy because he is a crypto guy!

Then he should land to Crypto.com Arena -  Grin
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: February 10, 2024, 07:54:56 AM

I like Ryan for him, he is still the champion so Ryan will have to challenge him. he deserve a big fight and with Ryan, it will be a sure blockbuster fight, so hopefully it will happen this year, probably in the 2nd half of the year.

That's to ensure that the fight will not be boring. Ryan has a height advantage on Lopez IMO but they are a good match. This fight, based on the bookmakers, Lopez was the heavy favorite, but maybe if Ryan and him will face each other, it will be a close match making only Lopez a slight favorite.

I can't wait to see it, I hope people will ask for it and the two will agree so they can finalize it as soon as possible.

Both Lopez and Ryan Garcia are full of pride and have too much ego it's going to be tough doing a deal on both of them they will be issues on the share of the pot PPV sales and who will top bill the match, but it's a good fight to make for promoters, it will be like Davis - Garcia where there's a lot of dramas and controversy involve.
Ryan needs to have a title all the best fighters have earned their titles like Hanry, Davis, Romero, and Lopez, he is the only popular fighter without a title, the title Instagram king is not very attractive for a fighter of Garcia's caliber.
It's up to Teofimo to decide who he wants to fight but a unification or fighting a top-level fighter is good for his career and legacy.

Look like Ryan Garcia has an upcoming fight, a big fight.

There's a thread that you can find here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5484623.0... It's the thread of Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney. That's going to be an exciting fight to watch as Ryan now have slowly learn the technique on how to be a defensive fight, he use that style on his last fight where he scored a KO.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 10, 2024, 06:50:26 AM
And the series are now tied. SMB were able to rally in the 3rd quarter but they fall short in the 4th. Huge blow for the SMB as they loss JMF on that game, his ankle might be injured again and his status in game 5 is still uncertain. I hope he will be able to recover in time and the injury is not series as game 5 is a very important game for them, a must win situation to put pressure on the Magnolia Hotshots. It's the 2nd game that Boatwright Jr. has struggled again, this time he score 16 points from 5-16 shooting and his hot 3 point shooting is gone as he only made 1 of his 9 attempts.

Boatwright's is missing shots and with his poor performances the team again loss the game, I also hope that JMF will comeback this coming game 5 hope his injury is not that serious, I guess it's really something that will bring big impact for SMB's rally losing JMF will equal the chances of winning from both teams.

A fair and square competition without JMF, though Magnolia manage to tied the series and in coming game 5 if JMF will be sitting down they have another chance to extend their winning streak.

At this time, it's hard to pull the trigger this early because we are not sure about the status of Fajardo next game. Although SMB needs to win the next game but it still depend on how good their line up is. Missing Fajardo is gonna be huge for SMB as they will be missing a good rebounder and shot blocker, so let's calm down for a bit, wait and see, but hopefully JMF is fine and will play.
