401  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest threats to the price of Bitcoin. on: November 22, 2020, 06:35:34 AM
I agree that the government poses the biggest threat.

As natural disasters would come, as high technologies would be developed in the future with strong processing power, I think it is still the government that holds the first seat. They could implement laws, they could influence people, in short, they have control over whether to stop or accept the usage of cryptocurrencies. It won't stop the technology but I think it is hard for the people using Bitcoin if all of their governments in this world ban it. When China banned Bitcoin, the price went down, that just proves how can it affect the price of Bitcoin.
402  Economy / Economics / Re: What if there is a natural disaster, such as an earthquake? on: November 22, 2020, 05:15:27 AM
We can't never escape natural disaster it's unpredictable sometimes, of course it will affect crypto but only in the areas where the disaster hits, and not to the entire crypto space. Usually it's temporary, whatever damages may occur people always find a way to fix it and bringing up solution.

What do you mean by cryptos affecting only those areas?

Doesn't mean that the price went down in our country, it doesn't mean that it will drop in other countries as well, is that what you're saying? It doesn't work like that, and I don't think it would be a huge impact on the price of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies unless that country has a lot of investors that sold at the same time.
403  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is getting ready for 20k again on: November 22, 2020, 03:09:08 AM
really amazing performance in this Q4, Bitcoin shows that he is the best investment during this pandemic,
looks Bitcoin can be above $ 17000, I believe the next target is all time high  Grin

It is still increasing.

The price is still going strong. Never thought that it would stay strong for a while. I am thinking that the price will never ATH but since the price is still strong, means we have a higher chance of having another ATH this year. It is so great that it is still going strong, I am not hoping for far greater as long as the price just stays here.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers lose more money than win. on: November 22, 2020, 02:26:59 AM
Casinos are not created for their users.

It is created for the profit of the owners and its investors. That is why these owners and these investors don't care whether people are destroying their lives in these games, at the end of the day it is still a business. If the gamblers will not be able to control themselves, they will obviously fall into that pit with regrets and a lot of losses.
Business is business no matter what’s the situation of a users or investors they are their to earn money. As a user it is our responsibility to manage our finances when it comes to play in gambling. The more you play the more loses it encounters because of no self control, greed, and play gambling with money that can't afford to lose. Indeed not a fault of the owner rather a fault of a user with a gambling problem.

That is true.

It is not these businesses/casinos that will be taking care of their people. If there seems a problem or an effect on the people, the government is the one that would make a law or maybe put a limit to these things. There are countries that include gambling addiction as their problem, hope there are a lot of people that would be helped by these programs or laws.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Player protection - stop loss limit on: November 22, 2020, 12:43:51 AM

They can't just stop themselves from betting their money so the only thing that could stop them is when they don't have money to bet or they realize that they should stop.

Yes this type of people are the addicts. Addicts don't know how to control themselves even in profit or loss time that why they loss profit all at the end of the betting. This is a big challenge for them and some seek help because they are losing more than profiting to the labour used in the playing of bet.

That could also happen to other people.

When you present someone with a way to earn money just by using his luck, people will really bet their money no matter how small that amount is. I remember that every fiesta in our place, these people are going to our barangay with dice and we guess which color will roll, we usually call it the color game. That is gambling but no matter the age of the people there, they really bet until the money they've empty their pockets. Do you know what the bad thing is? Some of those people that lose go back to their houses just to bet again. Again, these people are not addicted to gambling, they have just presented a way to earn money, despite gambling, they are willing to risk.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Player protection - stop loss limit on: November 21, 2020, 01:14:24 PM
Yes because mostly gamblers will just ignore that feature and keep playing whenever they feel to continue there win and doesn't want to get bothered by that feature, so maybe I think(this is just my opinion only) this feature doesn't really necessary needed since if gamblers really want to stop they can decide to do it on their own.

That is right.

I don't think people would be accepting this kind of feature in a gambling site as they are wanting to bet and continue the bet until they can't. Not all of us are like that but there are a lot of bettors that do that thing. They can't just stop themselves from betting their money so the only thing that could stop them is when they don't have money to bet or they realize that they should stop.
407  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to day trade bitcoin and altcoins? on: November 21, 2020, 12:53:30 PM
Due to its volatility, wouldn’t it be very difficult to day trade cryptos? Or is it best to just dollar cost average?

You can day trade.

But you are also correct that it is difficult. Because of the volatility of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, you can see fast changes to its price in a short period of time. You can take advantage of it if you wanted to day trade but you should consider the fees that you will be doing and the possible changes of that currency. Another thing is that you should also be vigilant to quick changes so you need to be alert and always watch the price chart.
408  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who actually moves the price of bitcoin? on: November 21, 2020, 12:26:56 PM
Yes, please want to sell bitcoins at any price, as long as he can wait until he is old. High price creeping pattern with long queues as if we were gambling. Suppose we have bought bitcoin for $ 15,000, and want to sell it in a queue for $ 25,000, but we are not sure to hit that price. he was more likely to use instinct than to read market charts. Smiley

Usually, we really follow our guts.

It is true that we are also analyzing the market but despite the indicators the price chart has, we can't actually say that it will happen 100%. We follow what we feel or what our gut says. The question, who moves the price of Bitcoin, the answer is us investors. Whales can manipulate the price but all of us gamblers are the one pushing and pulling it down.
409  Other / Archival / Re: 6 Most Popular Criticisms Of Bitcoin on: November 21, 2020, 09:14:09 AM
People tend to criticize what they don't believe or what they don't fully understand, or that doesn't meet their standards. Since Bitcoin was created and since it started gaining its momentum, Bitcoin had been criticized, and guess what some or maybe most of the people who doubted and criticized crypto are now investors or even supporters of it. People are always scared of change, innovation, and what is new so they question it.

That is them.

We can't stop people from criticizing Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies as a whole. One of the main reasons is that we could back number 5 criticism which says it is not backed with anything, if they could be more open to its possibilities it is the people and it is based on trust. It is not backed by anything then it is a scam, people should know that nothing can be created from nothing if it is not backed with anything, how could it be so huge right now.
410  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Popular Investing Strategies for Beginners on: November 21, 2020, 08:01:06 AM
and also you have to invest in coins that have low prices.

That is risky.

It is true that when the price of that certain cryptocurrencies increases, that would be a huge profit on your side the problem though is you don't know if it will stably increase or might just flop in a short period of time. Before investing in this low price coins, you should know if this project will last for a long period of time or it might juice their investors with money. That is why beginners should learn how to identify a good project if they wanted to invest in these kinds of coins.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers lose more money than win. on: November 21, 2020, 06:12:02 AM
Gambling is here to stay and the same for their users and that's why many casinos are also being created. While the old and existing ones becoming stronger and staying in the industry for the better. It's not the problem of the casino but it's the problem of the gambler if it's affecting his entire life and does things according to his will just to make himself satisfied as he gambles.

412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Player protection - stop loss limit on: November 21, 2020, 04:49:11 AM
I think people should stop relying on these features.

I mean it is great for those people that can't really stop themselves from burning their money on online casinos but if you really wanted to change, if you wanted to stop your addiction or even your betting as your habit, you need to do that yourself. And I think it would be annoying for those big bettors to activate this feature? I don't know especially if that limit of that player protection is low.

For what I understood, it is not that these people rely on these features but it is automatic upon the gambling website. I do hope that the gambling website that has this feature also solved the issue on big bettors.

That would be really annoying.

I mean, it should not be an automatic feature, it should be something that the people can control, it should just be an option to the gamblers. Another thing is that I don't think online casinos would implement this that quickly since, without it, they could earn a lot of money from a single day or in a week to those gamblers that can't control themselves.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is an entertainment? on: November 21, 2020, 03:39:26 AM
Does less focus mean less opportunity to win? No, this is gambling we are talking about, focus or not, skilled or not you can still lose.
If that's the reality, then why would we still chase to improve our skills? have you read some stories about gamblers getting big money from poker tournament or sports bettor who made a living on it?
I mean, even in normal games like fps or moba, there isn't a guaranteed chance of winning even if we improve our skills. It's the same idea with gambling. Every game out there has some form or part where luck plays a huge part, and you're skill can literally do nothing about it.

FPS or MOBA is different.

It is not the same as that since these teams are practicing their strategies and plays every day, it is a game, and always remember that these games are played by 5 players. Your teammates' play can lift you all in a slump while you can't do that in gambling as you are doing your bettings all alone. In gambling, luck plays a huge part, in those games, skills play a huge part as it will be your weapon to turn around games by taking advantage of mistakes your opponent's made.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the price of Bitcoin now? Take profit or greed? on: November 21, 2020, 02:38:12 AM
I needed some money so even before this bull came, I am already selling a small percentage of my holdings.

The market is not well but pandemic happened and in the past couple of weeks, my parents' house was hit by multiple and consecutive typhoons which are really traumatic for them as they are old. I need to send them some money and my salary is not enough so I sell some while still saving from the mBtcs I am getting every week. I am not choosing either of the two because I needed it.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be a wise investor on: November 21, 2020, 01:25:43 AM
In the process of trying to be a future whales you could lost everything, trust me this got me no where and I realized that I've lost tons of money because I was never contented, be smart and always take advantage of any project that brings you profit, do not stare at your wallet and say 'im gonna be rich in 3 years later' this is 1% out of 100% chance that it's ever going to happen, remember, been rich isn't the most important part of our lives but living a good life is.

What is wrong with aiming higher?

Don't take it as a mistake, greediness, and having a high goal is different. Also, usually, these investors are not really pushing themselves to earn a lot of money, some of them are just taking and maximizing the profit they can get and forcing them to earn more. They are careful, wary, and at the same time wanting to earn more, but for me not to become rich but to become successful.
When you're successful automatically it gets reflected on your wealth. These day success is defined based on the wealth and not based on one's achievement out of his passion. When it comes to cryptocurrency market just because you're wise you can't make money out of it.

You need to be lucky enough to invest on the right asset that has got the highest growth in short. It isn't possible to find the right one with ease. If you're wise and you've got large capital then you doesn't want to depend upon luck.

But in terms of cryptocurrencies, how can we know?

There are a lot of people holding thousand and thousands of cryptocurrencies and we never know who they are. How can we tell that they are successful if we never know who these people are? They are the only ones that can tell they are successful, other people can't tell how successful a man was if they will just be basing it on their wealth.
416  Economy / Economics / Re: people stop complain about economy and ccovid on: November 20, 2020, 11:28:26 AM
That would be really hard.

You can't just stop these people from complaining. There are a lot of people that find a hole, to find mistakes the government did but at the same time, people can't complain because they are also seeing mistakes. You can't blame the people in this because they are having a hard time dealing with this, but at the same time, I hope the people and the government could just unite to finish this problem.
417  Economy / Economics / Re: Hoping that its the end of corona virus on: November 20, 2020, 11:20:22 AM
A country can stop the pandemic without the vaccine.

But that is not that easy. The countries that did it know what they are doing and they laid a plan and they are swift when it comes to new cases. The people and the government trust each other. The problem is not the government, it is true that they committed mistakes but people also have their fair share when it comes to mistakes. It is not always the government, each end of the rope has its shares.

Yeah, heard a lot of them, to be honest.

But you just follow their story where they are still winning, did you even know how much money they burnt on gambling? It is true that they are professionals, they won a lot of tournaments but are we all professionals? Are we all like them? You are emphasizing these people while if we will be talking reality that you wanted to that is just a small percentage of gamblers and the small percentage that actually win. I'd say, they are in that 5-11% of gamblers while the other is the ones who loses money from a small amount to huge amounts.

420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers lose more money than win. on: November 20, 2020, 08:46:44 AM
People should really stop gambling if they can't afford it.

I don't know where they are getting this confidence that they could still increase their money despite the fact that they could lose a lot of money. They should just stay chill, not let the emotions run out. They should really believe in math and just think about the possibility of them winning which is low, and the fact that they don't have that much money to use makes it riskier.
It is not their confidence that is keeping them to play and thinking that they could still increase their money, it is their hope to get their money back, get more money, or simply just their greediness is what drives them to play until they have nothing else to bet.

I think that is that.

The fact that they are hoping to win means that they are still confident with their bets, they are still confident that they can still win. People should just stop right there if they are close to their end so they could use more in the next day or maybe time that they will gamble. For me, at that time they have a higher probability of winning as they can bring more money. I doubt that it is greed since they are already losing.

This is hard sometimes.

I can control myself when I lose but when I am winning, there is this thought that either you win or you lose your next bet, you could still have that profit and just stop after that one bet but usually, it doesn't end with one last bet. In my case, I usually have the of 3 after winning. If I can't stop betting after winning, I just need to bet 3 more and stop lose or win.
As what I have said above, that is also greediness. That thought in your mind when you win, that you could still have the profit so you can continue to bet more until you can't stop.

Now, this is where I agree that it is greediness.

They already won and they think they could earn more. In my case, it is not greed. I am also thinking about the probability that I could win more but not my gut telling me but I am basing it with some math; since I have a number of bets that I could do, that increases the wins that I can do and the losses that I can take. I am thinking that it will be the latter usually so I immediately stop at three.
