401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My trustwallet of $211,000 has been stolen, any help or advice is appreciated on: April 06, 2024, 02:38:38 AM
I'm very sorry for your loss OP but I don't think that you'll be able to get your funds back. It's really not worth it to keep $211k on Trust wallet which's basically a closed-source wallet and can have vulnerably that many hackers and find and compromise the wallets of the users remotely with remote code executions.

It's not a small amount and to be honest you have lost the funds due to your own unawareness. If you had taken proper steps for storing of your funds then you would not lose your crypto-funds. Now, you won't be able to do anything and I suggest you to be careful in future, and learn about personal wallets and device safely first before holding such huge amounts.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Feds transferred BTC from seized Silk road wallet to Coinbase on: April 06, 2024, 02:27:10 AM
I have gone through it and what came to my mind is somewhat strange. I believe feds and US government don't really need to sell their holdings directly to the public or via exchanges because these days there are so many investment companies that are willing to accumulate Bitcoin and if feds get a good quote from those companies then they can sell the seize Bitcoin without casing any dip to the market.

94,600 Bitcoin still means a lot and if all of those are sold at market rates then the price of Bitcoin can dump a lot for short term. The 94,600 Bitcoin may not dump it that much but the sell orders from bots may dump it even further. That will also be a good thing for the exchanges as they'll make a lot of money due to liquidations.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $100,000 and $1,000,000 Bitcoin on: April 06, 2024, 02:18:11 AM
This thread is a pure trap for promotion of cloud mining services and the story that you have made seems a made one to me. The reason I'm saying that is because if you were aware about Bitcoin when its value was around $5 then you would be a millionaire or a billionaire by now, and surely a millionaire or a billionaire shouldn't need to use a newbie account to create his/her posts on Bitcointalk.

I know that if we look at the price values that you have mentioned then it's possible for Bitcoin to reach $100k by the end of this year or at least when this bull run reaches its peaks, and I'm sure that Bitcoin will also reach $1M within 2 decades, but you could give those predictions without mentioning about cloud mining. However, you gave those predictions only because you wanted to promote your cloud mining scam company and that's why I find this thread as a pure trap.
404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For beginners: Create a Bitcoin wallet securely and privately on: April 06, 2024, 02:08:23 AM
Tails is a good operating system for the ones who care about security and also for the ones who want to create their own Bitcoin wallet with Electrum. One can easily create his/her own Bitcoin wallet with Electrum that's preinstalled on Tails OS, and after each restart one can use that wallet just by entering its seed phrase. It's a good setup for the ones who are new to personal wallets and who don't really trust Windows operating system or has the technical knowledge to install software on Linux operating system. Tails makes their job easy because it comes with preinstalled Electrum wallet and that anyone can use without much hassle.

The only problem one can face by using Tails on public computers or someone else's computer is by presence of hardware keyloggers because Tails can protect users from software based keyloggers as it always starts fresh but it can't protect users from hardware based keyloggers, and that's why one should be careful when importing his/her wallets seed phrase in someone else's computer or a public computer because if a physical keylogger is present on that computer then the hacker can easily access that person's seed phrase which was copied by physical keylogger present on that computer.
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Now Official Currency in Lugano: Another Milestone for Cryptocurrency on: April 06, 2024, 01:55:07 AM
It's a great thing to hear that another area now accepts Bitcoin as a legal tender. Lugano is a good city and their acceptance of Bitcoin as legal tender is good for all Bitcoin holders and for the ones who believe in Bitcoin.

In coming years many countries and cities will continue to legalize Bitcoin in their jurisdictions. I'm happy that Lugano took that step as one of the major cities of the Switzerland. Surely, in future the whole Switzerland will legalize Bitcoin as Lugano.
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some major institutions investing heavily in bitcoins in 2024 ? on: April 06, 2024, 01:34:07 AM
I'm not sure about other major institutions that are investing in Bitcoin but I'm very sure that MicroStrategy has been investing heavily in Bitcoin and they will continue their aggressive accumulation of Bitcoin.

Other than MicroStrategy, the ETF based institutions are also holding and accumulating Bitcoin and I believe they were the main cause of Bitcoin's price growth in March of this year.

If we look deeply then I'm sure Grayscale is still going to be on the top because their parent company Digital Currency Group still comes on top when it comes to Bitcoin accumulation.

407  Other / Meta / AI generated content by newbies on: April 04, 2024, 10:41:10 AM
A few minutes ago when I found a thread and I was about to share my opinion and suggestion in that thread then I thought of checking that thread for AI content. I copied the content of the thread and checked those on two AI content detecting sites that were suggested previously by Nutildah in AI Spam Report Reference Thread, and after testing I found the thread was an AI generated one.

Many of the reputed members of the forum have replied in that thread without noticing that the content was AI generated and the one who posted it used AI content generators to create the content of that thread. First I thought to report that thread on Nutildah's AI Spam Report Reference Thread, but then I thought I may create this thread to get some opinions that what can we do against the newbies that use AI generators to create content.

The following is the thread that's generated with AI AI generated thread, and I have already reported that thread to moderators and administrators so that they could remove that thread.

Can we have a feature where the AI generated content automatically get flagged as AI generated content so the reputed members may not reply to that post/thread and just report it when they see that flag. I mean if it's possible to make a patch where users get information about AI generated content then they may not waste their precious time in replying to such posts/thread which aren't written by a human but are generated by bots. I need your valuable feedback and I also want to know that is it even possible to make a patch that could flag such content?
408  Economy / Services / Re: :) Legal Online Handy Man - no job too small! ;D on: April 04, 2024, 10:16:59 AM
I suggest you to take the survey that Royse777 has mentioned because if you get lucky then you many win $500 worth of BTC.

You may write some reviews for free and then share those as samples so the ones who need reviews may hire you to write a review about their platform.

Same goes for article writing, if you have already written some good articles then show those as samples and if clients like those then they may hire you for writing articles for them.

You seems to be an optimistic person to me and if you do things in right way then surely you'll get a few jobs within months.

Best of luck!
409  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling kills the fun in these two cases on: April 03, 2024, 09:24:09 PM
Do not make gambling your only source of income or your only means of entertainment, as this will eliminate the first goal of gambling, which is pleasure.
A better one should be not to make gambling your main source of income but it could be a good means of entertainment.

However, the ones who consider gambling as a fun activity often make low value bets because they want the fun part not the money making part.

A good gambler is a one who enjoy gambling while also make some money if his/her bets go well. Don't consider it as a source of income because it isn't.
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need some ideas on: April 03, 2024, 08:49:29 PM
My idea is to teach those members about cold wallets and hot wallets because that's also a very important topic for the newbie learners of Bitcoin. Most of the new users often go with hot wallets, and when someone else gets access to their device then they get hacked and consider Bitcoin and crypto as scam. It's far better to educate such newbies about the cold and hot wallets so they could safely store their Bitcoin without any worries.

Another important thing I suggest you is to teach your group embers about custodial and personal wallets. Most of the new users keep their Bitcoin in custodial wallets and that's not a safe approach for holding Bitcoin. It's better to educate your group members about personal wallets so they can be the true owner of the Bitcoin that they have bought.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What was your latest big win from gambling? on: April 03, 2024, 08:42:09 PM
I really want to know how you do feel after your latest big win.
To be honest, I have never had a big win as a gambler but many times I have made some good bets that allowed me to earn some revenue. I would say that someone's latest big win as a gambler should be to have control over his/her emotions during gambling.

It's somewhat philosophical but it's true because if someone can't control his/her win related emotions during gambling then that person is much likely to get addicted to gambling for chasing big wins, and that is not going to be good at all.
412  Economy / Reputation / Re: Get 201 merits in 2 months from a farm on: April 03, 2024, 08:38:02 PM
It's quite strange to see that how a user could get so many merits with such quality posts within two months, but he's not the only user getting such high number of merits. There are other users who despite making normal quality posts get many merits. While there are also those members that make good quality posts but get few merits of the posts. The strange thing that I have observed about this particular member is that someone of his/her merits come from low rank members but that's not enough to consider him/her as a merit farmer.

I have noticed that from last few months even the good members of the forum who make high quality, and full of value posts aren't getting enough merits, but still there are some members of the local boards that are getting good number of merits for their normal quality posts. It's a sMerit senders choice to either send someone a merit or not, and most probably it would be wrong to take any action against that user because the ones who sent him those merits are also active members of the forum.

413  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 03, 2024, 08:18:32 PM
Yes, but if the horrors of gambling are widespread in the society and people who are not addicted to gambling and there are chances of gambling addiction spreading among them, we can also try to stop them for the time being through public awareness talks.
I agree with you, when gambling addiction is causing huge damage to a community then in that sense a government should take strict actions against its promotion. But, I believe they should also take actions against the casinos or all those services that they are allowing in their country. However, again I believe the gamblers are smart enough to find ways to gamble online, and governments can't track and stop such gamblers. I agree that the best way to stop gambling addiction is to run awareness campaigns that teach youngsters about the dangers of the addiction but it should be done in a peaceful way.
414  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your educated guess on BTC price at the end of 2024 on: April 02, 2024, 11:56:16 PM
I used to believe that Bitcoin may hardly touch $85k or more by the end of 2024, but now my beliefs are changed because I can see huge potential in the price of Bitcoin.

I believe that by the end of 2024, Bitcoin will be over $100k per coin. I'm sure that $100k is a good value but it can even cross that value if it gets more intensity.

In laymen terms, Bitcoin can reach and cross $90k value before November 2024, and in November-December it could potentially reach and cross $100k value.
415  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let the countdown begin❗️ on: April 02, 2024, 11:52:35 PM
how are you planning and preparing for potential market opportunities during this crucial period?
The halving event is surely going to bring great volatility in the market and most probably that will result in upward movements of the Bitcoin and other altcoins. I will try my best to hold my Bitcoin and altcoins that I have in my portfolio because I believe that after halving we can expect to have 1.5x to 2x with most altcoins and that's going to be a great return for most investors who have invested in altcoins for not so long term holding.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Quantum computing" on: April 02, 2024, 10:59:57 PM
This question has been asked many times in past and asking such question again isn't going to add new information to it.

We are not sure about the future but as of this day quantum computing isn't a thread to Bitcoin's security because if it was then Satoshi's wallets could have been hacked with the help of quantum computing.

Quantum computing isn't harmful for Bitcoin users and when it becomes a threat then surely the developers will make better security mechanisms to prevent such threats.
417  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 02, 2024, 10:52:42 PM
Although it is very difficult to prevent newbies from gambling, nothing is impossible. Awareness campaigns must be conducted for those gamblers who have not yet indulged themselves in gambling and make them aware of the dangers of gambling.
As long as I understand then one should not prevent anyone from gambling because it's someone's own choice to gamble or not to gamble and others should not interfere with someone's personal matters. Although, I agree that it's a good thing to promote awareness regarding gambling addiction but if someone enjoys gambling to some extent then they should be allowed to do so. There is no danger is gambling, it's a fun thing but when someone starts getting addicted to it then the problems can take place.

I believe a better approach to stop such people from gambling addiction is by teaching them about gambling responsibility rather than preventing from gambling altogether. If someone gambles once a day or twice a week then that's not going to cause gambling addiction but if someone gambles 4 hours a day or more than that could cause gambling addiction. We need to run campaigns to educate people that giving more than 30 minutes a day or more than 2 hours a week to gambling could cause addiction but if someone does gambling in moderate way then it's a fun activity and is accepted by majority.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: April 02, 2024, 10:45:32 PM
I have done all-in a few times and all of those times I got my bankroll emptied. I don't suggest all-in to anyone because it's the most dangerous bet that someone makes, if you win you recover your losses but if you lose then you made another huge loss.

Most of the times I make multiple bets of $1-$5 then doing any bet of $100 or $500 because I know that losing $1-$5 bet is accepted as long as you are playing and enjoying but losing $100 to $500 bets isn't accepted by most who are at my level. I always do small bets and that's why I don't face huge losses in betting.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is Legal In Our Country But if You Promote It Online You'll Go To Jail? on: April 01, 2024, 10:45:11 PM
This would allow individuals to discuss their experiences while simultaneously limiting the development of gambling addiction.
I don't think that their intention is to stop gambling addiction because if they allow the citizens to gamble on casinos then they aren't giving much priority to addiction. I think their main motive behind promoting gambling is to stop majority of the citizens from knowing about gambling.

They could also do that because they might don't want young population, especially the students to take part in gambling activities. We all know that the students that become addicted to gambling could ruin their educational career and if majority of youngsters become addicts then such country can face hard times.
420  Other / Off-topic / Re: No interest in gambling if there is no profit or fun to be accountable. on: April 01, 2024, 03:02:23 PM
Someone's profits and losses are highly dependent on his/her own luck and a casino has nothing to do with the profits or losses. I believe fun is an important aspect of online gambling because without fun we can't enjoy gambling at all.

I always believed that it's someone's luck makes him/her a winner or a loser, and even there's something we know as a casino's house edge, but still if someone's luck is extremely good then the house edge can't do any harm to such gamblers.

Surely, casinos set the house edge to gain some profits because they are also businesses, and they also have to earn revenue overtime. However, the house edge is very low in some games and that's why someone with a good luck can beat it easily.
