Hundreds of startups are reportedly being “secretly” targeted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for their involvement with initial coin offerings. Companies that participated in ICOs are now scrambling to clarify whether their token constituted a security, and, if so, whether it was properly registered with or exempted by the SEC. Yahoo Finance and Decrypt claims that “Hundreds of startups that did token sales are finding out they’re in violation of securities law— including many that were sure they did it the right way.” https://news.bitcoin.com/hundreds-of-icos-being-secretly-investigated-by-sec-claims-report/Well then. It is good to hear being in cryptocurrency world. We need to get assurance from any company start ups and ICOs that we are working in a legitimate projects. SEC secretly imvestigating them will make them wary of what they are doing. This may avoid scamming people and be careful with what they are doing.

Hi guys, If you join bitcoin craze last year, I think you can relate on what I'm trying to say right now, Some of the people that I know really discourage investing in any cryptocurrency due to the fall that had to happen in the crypto. I myself also lost half 70% of my portfolio because of this. That's why It's really been a while before I get back. My question now is, as of the moment, are there any cryptocurrency as of the moment that is worth investing? and another question is, is the bounty campaign here in the altcoin still worth of investing time?
I personally believe bitcoin is still worth investing. I feel sorry for what you have gone through in cryptocurrency investing, it's hard when you lose and hard to get back but you can get up one day and recover what you lose. In time, when market recovers too, I wish you can. As of the moment, I recommend holding on to ADA or cardano, the Komodo or the Lisk. These are coins which I find it worth to consider.

It seems to me that the XRP is very overbought, and its price should be adjusted around $ 0,30 - 0,25, we have to wait a bit and no rush to buy.
Ripple believer expected it to be growing more that's why they are also buying more and some are holding too? Come on, ripple is centralized and can easily be manipulated. You should have been bought at .28 rather than now because it is still above the price when it pumps. Funny, when xrp is low no one bother to buy more now it is pumped you are buying? Wait for it to get low enough to buy more.

Hello, I wanted to know your opinion about Ethereum, you do not lose optimism. What do you think about the end of 2018. I think that soon Ethereum will grow up to 1000 dollars but will lose 2 place. And EOS will take the second place.
Ethereum will not go to zero. It is just what I believe. When bitcoin experience price turmoil many years ago, there has been an speculation too that it is going to die but when it crash, it suddenly burst into new ATH and it has been happening every year when there is expected to crash there is expectation that value will soar after that.

Even if bitcoin price plunge down today, later, or tomorrow, it will still go back to go up. What went down will eventually go up. Cryptocurrency market is still in bear mode but it will definitely be taking over by bull. There is nothing permanent so expect that bear market is not permanent. Just stay and HODL until the bull market arrived.

Hello, I was following Bitcoinus platform since the ICO has started. Few days ago they have listed their token on HitBTC. I wonder why the price of BITS is so low now if they have working product? Despite their platform is fully developed, the token price stays the same or lower..
There are factors that affects the price like the market in bear mode, we cannot expect it to grow and get the price to increase when the market is bloody. The volume also affects why it became low or high. so don't worry, when the market rebounds maybe, bitcoinus will also follow.

Yes, it's possible, until December 2018 Ethereum could reach 2500$ or maybe until the middle of next year. Now Ethereum is falling and will have to wait a lot until it increases.
Nothing is impossible in cryptocurrency but I doubt if it can reach the $2500 value this year. It is not highly probable to happen knowing that market is still down until now. My guess is that by end oif the year, ethereum might be $1500 and not the $2500 mark.
|
|
|
There is nothing impossible in the cryptocurrency world. If bitcoin was 8K in the early 2017 and hit almost 20K at the end of the year it can also happen to XRP. So if you are a believer of ripple, hold on, who knows it might happen.

It will go easy to 5400 in some days. Whales will pay for a very bad news and we will see u nice correction even before news. It was the same last time when BTC dumped from 7300 to 6200 in couple of hours.
In a few days, about 6,700 will be the other way around, and the 7k barrier is a starting and irrevocable bull market and new records. I am hoping that bitcoin won't go down to 3K per dollar. Many people interested to join as investors in bitcoin will lose interest just like what happened when many newbie investors join the bandwagon when BTC hit the almost 20K they cursed bitcoin because they loss huge amount of money and they will lose again when it will hit down the 3K value.

The next bull run I guess, if it does not happen this year, will be the bitcoin halving next year. What do you think? Does this makes sense that movement of price may trigger before or after the bitcoin halving?
Correction. Halving is on 2020. Thanks folks!

the first one that popped up to my head is Cardano (ADA). With 95% down from ATH and great team behind it, this one has great potential. Now I realize you probable meant some low cap gem, or something. But I had to mention my favorite project ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Yes, that's right ADA. Keep it simple and HODL. Aside from ADA, I think Lisk too have great potential to to give greater returns when market comes back. It has real team and has been down about 95% too.
|
|
|
Yes of course. Proof of the real team's existence is very important because it is just mean the project is real no ghost team and no ghost project and scamming is less risky. Why? If your face is pinned in the web as the projects core team and developer, you may feel a little bit ashamed to be included in the project which is only scamming people later on. So everyone in the team with good reputation will not be ashamed if they think the project is legit.
|
|
|
I don't think airdrop is effective just to promote projects. When ICO is not yet rampant and only legit ICO during the early days of start up there is no airdrop known and ICOs because of its solid team behind plus dedicated devs and realistic projects. No airdrop is known yet. So ICO can be very successful yet even if there is no airdrops offering.
|
|
|
An ICO I believe is one's own responsibility and not a country. If you invest and lose, it is your fault and not anyone else. You are the one to be blame because there is always risk in any investment scheme. The country can only regulate an ICO but cannot control who will be investing with them. It is up to you to find out if it can scam you or not.

Petition to make XRP the official currency at the 2020 Olympic Games... yeah... a bit far fetched! https://www.leaprate.com/cryptocurrency/digital-currency/this-cryptocurrency-can-be-the-official-currency-at-the-2020-olympic-games/It would make sense for the reasons provided in the above article to have an official cryptocoin for purchases on every shop around the area, this would make things easier for everyone... for some tourists who own the coin they would skip the lines to exchange their money to Yen (probably in a bad rate) and people who would use fiat would at least wait in shorter lines. But I think exchange of $, € and other fiat to Yen is something that would benefit Japan. Not sure if it makes any difference to their economy, but if it does then they wouldn't support any cryptocurrency. Maybe not as far-fetched as it would seem. Sports seem to be getting on the crypto bandwagon as quick as they can, and because most of them don't really understand the difference between a true crypto project and a centralized entity like Ripple, they will actually think it's a good partnership to be associated with a big token that has many banking partnerships. Will that make XRP rise in price? Probably not. This will only mean ripple is making its presence anywhere in the world, not just bitcoin or ethereum but it is xrp which is making waves despite a bear market. I admit I am not a ripple supporter but I have huge investment so I hope and expect to get better returns.

The market is half green, with ETH and XRP on the red side on coin360. So, I think it's time to buy the cryptos. Which one would you prefer to invest and why?
Ethereum is declining in value while XRP is gaining and continue to increase in value. Speculations continue that ethereum is dying which I do not agree and XRP's good news everywhere are making waves which make it more valuable to consider to invest.

Keep cool it will not happen. ICO and bounties have will always become part of the cryptocurrency world. ICO may die in name but new platform or name will emerge and just like ICOs will have rewards to offer because the bounty hunters way of popularizing the project is so powerful that the team and development rely on the community who also are including the bounty hunters.

This really what I keep on asking myself since we all know that cryptocurrency dominates the bank as time pass by. I wonder will it result to total collapse of bank industry?
Feel free to drop your comments here.thanks
Do you believe it is? Come on, they are only saying this because banks consider cryptocurrency a threat to their existence. In cryptocurrency, transactions can be done in seconds while in banks some reach days and the quick transactions with the banks reach even hours so how people trust them in sending money. There are also big differences from storing coins in the banks and in your cryptocurrency wallets. Banks is not considered investments when you save money in them while in crypto, you are consider an investor when you risk your money by keeping and holding for long term.

You need to choose coins which are solid and established and with solid products to back them up. A good project should have solid team and active developers to update the public of what is going on already with the project. It is not at all times good to rely on coinmarketcap to follow what you believe is low capital because they are not yet proven in the cryptocurrency world.

Ethereum has been a around and established already just like the XRP however it is the ethereum network which I believe more than the XRP.
