I've a lot of trust in this coin. Great and experienced dev team, good coin and low price.
To the moon in a couple of weeks or months, that's for sure  Smiley

Where can I find the roadmap of KMD?

There is no exact roadmap. I'll try to summarize it quickly, but of course it is constantly moving a bit. This roadmap includes also SuperNET roadmap, which is very relevant for Komodo too.

 1) DEX layer with liquidity provider nodes
 2) With working DEX we can continue testing the BTC anonymizing feature in Jumblr and finish it
---------- with these two in place the Agama will be pretty much fully functioning ----------
3) Komodo Currencies phase 2, which will allow us to scale their market capitalizations
4) Komodo Smart Contracts (this is the latest addition that we are now talking about, and planning)
5) Pangea poker backend (Pangea will party require Komodo Smart contract tech)

There's also a lot of GUI development to be done, manly for Agama, InstantDEX and Pangea

It's very hard to give any dates, and they would be very broad estimations. Thus we think it's better if we don't give any exact timeline, but our platform has been advancing with a very impressive speed lately! Really the most work was done in 2015/2016 when jl777 was coding Iguana Core.

In late 2016 we started with a Zcash fork and by now we have finished:
 - delayed proof of work consensus
 - we had elections and we got 62 notary nodes around the world giving protection
 - launched 50 assetchains each with their independent blockchains, those are are using dPoW
 - Satinder has made impressive progress with Agama (published just few months ago)
 - developend and launched Komodo Currencies (phase 1)
 - defeated a lot of blockchain attacks, which made Komodo a lot stronger
 - launched/developed KV-coin (key/value database), which is required by DEX
 - lot of enhancement to our backend performance, for example to Iguana Core

I might have missed something, not sure.

Hi Devs,
Any plans to hire some more programmers to speed up the progress and our developments?
Komodo have an impressive Roadmap, but with the slow progress and bugs we having now, someone is going to take our ideas and be the first to use it in their Bloackchain/Platform. Because this is an open project so others are free to use or copy our ideas.

I recommend to hire some more people, i mean we need a groups of Devs to handle each iOS, Linux & Windows GUI.
So we can speed up our GUI development & fixing the bugs, because curently we still have some people who having problems with Agama wallet on Windows version.

First of all, the GUI progress hasn't been slow considering the complexity of the application. The GUI has two coin daemons in it: komodod and Iguana Core. Getting Komodo GUI for windows and mac wasn't that easy either, as the Zcash team officially only supports Linux. All in all, there was a lot of things that had to be done and a lot of moving parts that add to the complexity. I'm not the right person to talk about it from a technical perspective though.

The GUI team has three persons in it: Satinder Grewal, ca333, and pbca26. The problem of hiring new GUI devs is the complexity part. A new guy cannot just jump in and start contributing. First, he has to educate himself about pretty much everything SuperNET has been developing. If the GUI dev doesn't have a blockchain background, then he also has to understand that aspect.

If the team were to hire another person, it would drain a lot of their resources to get him educated and up to speed so that he could make a contribution. The conclusion was that the fastest way to finish all the tasks is just to let them do their job. In fact, they have been doing a great job! (Agama is a native multi-coin wallet, there is nothing like it on the market elsewhere).

Satinder did say that after the GUI is working and the pieces are in right places, we can have another GUI team to take over. That team would turn the working product into a grandma-friendly product ready for mass market adoption.

That all being said, it has been acknowledged that the situation could change. It's not so much that we wouldn't like to hire more people, but who to hire? How do we find the guy?

For us to find a new GUI dev, the following has to happen. Someone would have to join our community and be interested in our product so much that he takes his free time to study and understand the product, then offer his help. Then we could hire him, and the GUI projects would finish faster.

komodo smart contract their own independent development it? What is the difference between an etherum and an intelligent contract?
yes it is totally independent development.

Our approach is to build on top of existing infrastructure, so no custom new language, but any language that can create a compiled output.

This does allow a lot more flexibility and computing resources to implement things, so complex things like decentralized poker can be created. pangea will be a reference dapp, smart chain.

Of course, a lot more things can go wrong if to allow arbitrary executable code. But that is another reason for having loosely coupled assetchains. Whatever code is needed for a dapp would be put into its own chain. That way, only people who care about that dapp even runs that chain and this controls bloat in a significant way in addition to limiting any damage should a dapp smart chain go DAO (DOA).

Interaction with the ecosystem will be via DEX

There wouldnt be any limit to the number of smart chains, but practically speaking you would run out of system resources or eventually network ports at some point, so people will have to limit the smart chains they run to a few hundred at a time.

Also, with the number of nodes securing a specific smart chain possibly being small, it is important that there is a mechanism like dPoW to secure such otherwise weak chains.

Oh, jl777, since you did not complete the previous project, how can you ensure that komodo will always be developed? Please forgive me for direct

There's just one project and he's been working on it for the whole time. It is an ecosystem where the various parts use the functionality of each other. For example, Komodo Currencies are built on top of Komodo Platform, but yet they require the DEX layer of SuperNET to function properly. Without the "past projects" a lot of the stuff we have now would not be possible.

Eventually, the discussion moves to Komodo smart contracts and the difference between SuperNET approach versus Ethereum's approach to smart contracts. Later on, ca333 joins the discussion to shed some light to his achievements in BlockShow2017.

Yes using latest version. I have avg Antivirus and not getting any messages.

It doesn't go past loading daemon screen so can't do the other thugs you mention. How would startup another way besides clicking the agama app

Okay, have you installed Iguana Desktop App? (before we renamed it to Agama). In that case you will have to uninstall it before installing Agama. More info: https://github.com/SuperNETorg/Agama/wiki/Agama-Desktop-Installation-and-Upgrade-Instructions

Also, have you tried the Zip releases too? You can get it from our github: https://github.com/SuperNETorg/Agama/releases

1. Extract archive after downloading.
2. Open extracted folder.
3. Execute Agama application to start Wallet.

HEY WHAT HAPPEN YESERDAY, DEV HIT WITH BUS?!

THIS IS HORSE$HIT

All that happened was a Polo delisting UNITY. The project itself is doing better than ever.

The SuperNET is trading in NXT Asset Exchange: http://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/nxt-asset-exchange/

This summer the asset will be moved from NXT blockchain to it's own SuperNET blockchain, after that it will be trading in Agama's native decentralized exchange.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: April 20, 2017, 05:11:19 AM

Is it possible the you guys will list UNITY in another exchanges aside from AGAMA? In my opinion an alternative would be better.

It is already listed in NXT Asset Exchange.

The centralized trading websites take a regulatory risk if they support a dividend paying asset, thus we doubt we will be trading in any centralized website anymore. Bittrex has a policy not to list any coin/asset that pays dividends.

On this summer we will more the asset from NXT to SUPERNET assetchain (it's own blockchain). After that it will be trading in Agama.

When is the next monthly KMD withdrawal??  Do you have to wait for the initial ICO bought Komodo for the monthly withdrawal as well??

It is in the beginning of May, not exactly sure which day, probably around 5-7.5

If I already requested a payout and now i want to switch my address to a bittrex address can I do it?

The wallet isn't working for me at all and no one seems to know why

Are you running the latest Agama version?
Are you sure no firewall nor antivirus program is blocking Agama?
Have you tried to go to 'basilisk actions' and click "Clear & fetch basilisk data"?
on startup, are you connecting to 8 or 50 basilisk servers? If 50, then you will need to edit your conf file.

It's easier to trouble shoot in real time conversation. Hopefully you get it working! If not, then let us know more details so we can solve your problem.

Unity can still be traded on nxt AE.

Luckily, I traded out of my long time unity position a few weeks ago as I realized maybe it wasn't for me and I wasn't super satisfied with the responses to my concerns. Then the price rose immediately after and I felt dumb for missing the rise. Now the price is way lower then when I swapped out.

However, I swapped to kmd. When unity moves to kmd I'll prob pick it up again.

Hey team, what is the current update with the project? What issues are being resolved?

I truly hope that kmd doesnt go the same way that mastercoin did. Mastercoin had plenty of funds and momentum, however their development roadmap experienced many hiccups as they struggled to make the various implementations of their protocol work. Their idea was a little too complex and soon after they lost their best devs to the super hype project eth. The community left shortly after and even though they eventually completed what they started out, it was just a shadow of its former self. Take head of the mastercoin history cause we needed instadex yesterday. And if you can't deliver in a timely fashion, ie soon, then your market advantage is gone and me and others will be forced to go use something else.

Or tldr, lack of instant dex is giving me blueballs

The back end is in place for the most part, and the biggest problems have been solved.

The priority is to get the DEX online.

This all might feel like a long time, but the progress has been accelerating. We have already reached a lot of milestones and the next ones are just months away.

if i buy btcd from an exchange now, is it still possible to swap it to komodo?

Yes, the swap lasts until January 2018.

However, please note that the withdrawals from the swap site (ico.komodoplatform.com) are done monthly.

Since the situation between SuperNET and Komodo Platform seems to be confusing to many, I draw a simple chart to illustrate this.

SuperNET = the asset of SuperNET organization that will pay dividends generated from the platform level and the DAPPS
Komodo Platform = an important piece of the SuperNET platform, it is the source for all the blockchains the platform uses.
 - Komodo coin is the insfrastructure coin of the SuperNET Platform
 - Komodo Currencies are generated using the Komodo Platform, and they are in-fact also using Iguna Core.
 - Komodo Smart Contracts are the next thing coming on the roadmap

SuperNET is finishing up Agama which has:
 - EasyDEX decentralized Shapeshift like coin exchange
 - Jumblr coin anonymizer for KMD and BTC
 - Multi-Coin wallet

Next is Pangea and InstantDEX

SuperNET needs Komodo Platform; and Komodo Platform needs SuperNET.

Well maybe JL reads this thread once in awhile - doesn't seem like he can be bothered to post in his Supernet thread after Unity got delisted - a lot of people very concerned, and rightly so. Calling them trolls does not address the underlying problem.

Supernet seems to be completely dead in the water, and is now being delisted on its only exchange. The right thing to do at this point would be to wind down the Supernet project - sell off holdings - and return money to investors. And if you Komodo people think this infection won't spread to Komodo and poison your investment - just watch carefully what happens over the next weeks.

JL has polled people before to check on direction - he should do it now. My guess is an overwhelming number of people would ask him to unwind Supernet and return their money at this point. It would be the single best thing he could do at this juncture - both for Unity and Komodo's sake.

And for all the people getting ready to post that this is in the wrong thread -

1) He is not answering anybody in the Unity thread

2) The two projects are intertwined

3) That he is not addressing this is a giant read flag for Komodo investors

4) This will poison Komodo if it is not dealt with ethically.

Hello, I don't think you have the full picture.

SuperNET and Komodo are not competing, they are the same platform! SuperNET is doing better than ever before, and we are finishing the projects, just download Agama and you will see.

Question...
I swapped some BTCD to KMD but I'm stuck transfering them to my exchange wallet.
I go to the tab "Payout" --> Request payout --> skip step 1 because I'm sending to an external address
In the next screen I see my total KMD balance and a checkbox "confirm" but no field to enter my wallet address.
Is there maybe something wrong with the front-end of the website?

Goldmaxx
is any handbook of the swap?

Yes,
1) follow the instructions in the SWAP tab to make the swap
2) follow the instructions in the OP of this tread to make a withdrawal (payout)

You will have to change the KMD address first where you are sending, and then go to the 'PAYOUT' tab. There are step by step instructions in the OP:

Quote
How to send your KMD to an exchange

- go to 'home' tab
- click 'use exsisting KMD address'
- input the deposit KMD address you got from an exchange
- Now that you have the correct KMD address you can proceed to the 'payout' tab
- Since you are using a 3rd party address you don't have the seed, and thus you will click 'skip'
- Follow instructions and confirm the withdrawal

Warning: make sure you are doing the withdrawal to a correct address! Once we send out the KMD there is no way to retrieve it.

Note that the payouts are processed manually and next one will happen in ~2 weeks.

kmd have any news recently? it seem has a big opportunity to make big things happen.

The biggest news that most likely went unnoticed by most was the roadmap upgrade: Komodo Platform will have smart contracts.

Last week we have an open investor meeting about it in our Slack. We are now planning it, and asking for feedback. We will be speaking more about this in the future.

Hi, I was just wondering what DopW is and how does it work ?

Hello!

Very simply: it is an additional consensus layer that can be built on top of any existing consensus. For example, Komodo built its dPoW consensus on top of the Zcash equihash PoW mining and attached to Bitcoin blockchain. The benefit of this is that Komodo is also secured by Bitcoin's hashrate.

A very simple illustration:
first KMD confirmation, a transaction is secured by Komodo's hashrate
first BTC confirmation, a transaction is secured by Bitcoin's hashrate

Any other blockchain can use dPoW too. For example, Komodo USD also built a dPoW protection layer on top of its blockchain, and it has attached itself to Komodo blockchain. Similarly even a PoS coin could adopt the dPoW layer and attach itself to Komodo. Through the KMD they too will get the Bitcoin level protection.

All in all, it's a blockchain security layer for blockchains. With it no bigger chain can conduct an attack against a weaker chain.

hi - quick question - I am an old time holder of the Supernet/Unity asset - with the Komodo rollout, I am a little confused of the relationship between the two - is Unity still part of the equation?  Is it still worth something?  If so, if someone can explain why/how that would be extremely helpful.  Thanks in advance and apologies for the cluelessness.

Hello! Here's the difference in a nutshell:

 - SuperNET aka UNITY (like the stock of the SuperNET organization, not a coin or money, the asset won't have any utility like a coin does)
 - Komodo (KMD) (money and SuperNET platform infrastructure coin. It will be used by many Apps/DAPPs SuperNET is building on top of it platform)
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Financial_Privacy/SuperNET_Core/InstantDEX/PAX/Divs on: April 17, 2017, 10:02:00 AM
btcd or unity, I'm confused about which select for medium term investig.

I cannot guess which have more potential or they are rising in near rate. At least for now it seems so.

BTCD has become Komdo (KMD). If you want to invest you should buy Komodo, although the BTCD can be swapped for KMD with a ratio of 1 BTCD = ~50 KMD

If you want to invest into SuperNET the two main investment vehicles are:
 - SuperNET aka UNITY (like the stock of the SuperNET organization, not a coin or money, the asset won't have any utility like a coin does)
 - Komodo (KMD) (money and SuperNET platform infrastructure coin. It will be used by many Apps/DAPPs SuperNET is building on top of it platform)

Hi,

I'm using the Agama wallet (v0.1.6.2e-beta) on a Xubuntu 64-bit in Basilisk mode. I'm unable to send KMD. I select the Send From address, fill in the Send To and the amount to be sent, and leave the fee to the defaulting 0.0001, and then I click on Send. After that, I confirm, and it stays under the Processing Tx tab for a while, after that, it tells me that it could not generate the signed transaction. Thx for your help.

Go to 'Basilisk Actions' and click "clear & fetch basilisk data"

Let me know if that helps

Hello
I have a question, does anyone have any issues sending kmd from one personal wallet to another?
I am able to send another coin I have in agama wallet without a hitch. kmd either processes forever or transaction details say round the lines of a pass followed by a fail. Thanks for your help

try 'Basilisk Actions' and click "clear & fetch basilisk data"

It could also be some temporary problem with Basilisk Servers.
