401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Brexit became the reason of Bitcoin’s downfall? on: October 17, 2019, 06:05:58 PM
How does a drop in price Equate to downfall?

Bitcoin is used on a global scale across regions, it's can not be affected by Brexit or any similar movement. If it should affect anything, it should be the country's currencies which are undoubtedly doing well. There's apparently no connection between Brexit and Bitcoin as to lead to Bitcoin's downfall.
402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Save Yourself From, "Wallet Scammers". on: October 17, 2019, 04:25:40 PM
Aside from this scam where the user is being fooled on sending their wallet's private address there are also scam projects where they have this airdrop you can participate and you will only receive the coins after you pay something for "verification/confirmation", a lot of newbies here in the forum got fooled with this method and they actually have sent money just to have this "free" airdrop. Indeed a lot of people in the industry are victims to this kinds of money traps where they only believe the payout but not knowing first if it is true or not. They always look at what they will receive but not the risk behind it, and some of them don't even learn from their mistakes and be victimized by another project using the same old tricks.

Seems people have wisen up a little concerning the sending of their wallet's private address. But other form of scam such as the sending of payment for "verification" is still paramount, especially with these shady contests been done or telegram in the guise of one project or the other. People seem to fall alot for it.
403  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Top 3 Cryptocurrency Trend Indicators on: October 17, 2019, 02:28:59 PM

I have seen the three indicators mentioned but i usually trust the three more commonly used indicators.
1-Relative Strength Index (RSI)
2-Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD)
3- Moving Average & EMA

Not sure about Average True Range (ATR) and Trendmaster which are custom build.

For trading, I usually use 2-3 indicators to validate prices and strengthen the belief that the price will probably increase or when I want Cute Lose. because these 3 indicators are correct, I understood and studied.

  • Stochastic RSI
  • DMI
  • Bollinger Bands

Each person must be different in using indicators. but with all three I can get a combo when I want to trade scalping. I am an impatient type of person so I cannot hold Altcoin long term. And I take Time Frame From Minutes to Daily, And also this can use the free features of Tradingview  Grin

These 6 trend indicateors seem to be the best in providing a more better results when proper combined. You might not actually need to combine the whole 6. A mix of RSI, MAC-D and Bollinger bands can give you an insight as to how a particular pair is performing and how it is likely to perform in a nearest short period.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ieo-s and Profit on: October 17, 2019, 10:30:18 AM
Using binance for instance as a case study for IEO performance, lots of the IEOs makes a little profit from the IEO price before it goes down. An exchange like binance can create enough FOMO and hype for its IEO and this is witnessed by the high number of people participating in it. You can make some profits regardless of how small it could be.
405  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: People Empowerment on: October 17, 2019, 08:19:53 AM
Other than volatility as you've mentioned, other reasons hindering Bitcoin adoption are;
-Knowledge: The level of knowledge people have as regards to Bitcoin is very low in some places. For instance, most people still think that Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme or a bubble that will soon burst one day.
-Technology: Bitcoin requires some technical application which is lacking in most places or parts of the world, only a few who have access to and understand such technology are actually using Bitcoin.
-The government: Probably the biggest hindrance to bictoin going mainstream.
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Cryptopia: Bitcoin, Blockchains and the Future of the Internet" on: October 17, 2019, 06:45:41 AM
Would love to see what the movie/documentary will unveil about crypto and possibly how it's going to revolutionalise the future. But why coming from cryptopia, we all know how bad they have failed as an exchange. That's a horrible name to give to the movie considering the dent they have created in people's mind.
407  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Technical Analysis Bullshit or Not? on: October 16, 2019, 06:56:45 PM
try asking pro traders if they use technical analysis in their work.  yes their do, without technical analysis is the same as working with full risk, even though the results are not accurate but they prove that technical analysis is needed when entering the market. if you say it's bullshit, you can enter the market with as much money as you got and we see the results.
I agree with you on the basis of the results not being accurate all the time, that just goes to prove how unpredictable the market can really be.
To get a better result, technical analysis should be paired with fundamental analysis as well, just to improve the chances.

Technical analysis forms the cure of every trading activity, not just in cryptocurrencies but even in Forex.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright as "Bitcoin creator" at a conference in London!!! WTF??? on: October 16, 2019, 04:55:39 PM
Craig Wright can claim whatever thing he wishes to, we all know the truth. They can put up with any sort of drama just to sell his name to the crypto community, that's so fruitless adventure.
Right now we should focus on advancing this technology further and gaining more adoption but seems Craig is more interested in titles he know nothing about and that's shameful.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What's problem in Yobit!!! on: October 16, 2019, 03:44:42 PM
That is probably a yobit issue. Sometimes the site goes offline without an upfront notice. But it's pretty back to normal right now.
Yobit really need to fix up their site, some things are not in order.
410  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't become Bounty Hunter! on: October 16, 2019, 02:58:28 PM
It is sad to see many come to this forum and the first thing they do is participate in bounty campaigns because someone told them they could make money that way. In most cases, such campaigns pay in some rather worthless tokens or pay nothing at all.

You wonder how it is possible to work for months and advertise a particular company/project in your signature or with social networks and to get nothing?
The reason is very simple, they (owners) take advantage of the gullibility of people and the fact that something is presented on this forum, but this does not mean that anyone guarantees you that you will be paid for your work.

I put bounty hunting in category of big time-wasting, even bigger then claiming on faucets - today you at least get pay instantly in 90% of faucets on your microwallet account.

I'll give you an example of how one bounty campaign is ended, only partially happy for some participants and only because some members start to ask owners to finally pay. Some users still beg for the money, so be smart and save your time - do you want to beg for your hard-earned money and that in the same time someone is calling you scammer&bot?

This advice right here is only good now. But if in 2017, bounties was a very big thing. So many ICOs and a good number of them actually turned out successful, at least for the few months on exchanges. Coming into Cryptocurrency with no capital to start trading, bounties was a more better way to build up some capital base. But now, everything has changed because ICOs are no longer gaining attention again.
411  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC- When it back to 20k on: October 16, 2019, 07:02:39 AM
Okay, I read a couple of comments and I'm sorry to say this is all wishful thinking, let's review the facts; only one fact is important here: The only reason BTC hit the 19K was because Tether manipulated the price, then their earnings were withdrawn and the price went down again, it was a scam, an elaborate scam that cost millions and came back with billions, btc won't reach this mark again without another manipulation or a huge public interest in btc again and this won't happen without a trigger and i don't see how that would happen, for btc to reach this organically and without external interference, it'd take years and serious fiat inflation
Basically, that's what it is at the moment. BTC hitting 20k again is very far away from now, it takes more than a regular bull run to move BTC up to that extent. With support lines getting broken on the charts, we are in circa Very long wait, longer than we may think.
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency in the next financial crisis on: October 15, 2019, 09:57:41 PM
Contrary to views that crytpo might flourish in the event if an economic crisis. I am highly skeptical about that. If the traditional payment system which is fiat gets so devalued, then it's dragging cryptocurrencies alongside with it because no one will have the resources to afford or keep up with its requirements and that becomes a problem on both ends.
413  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Weekly Update: Range Highs Taken? What's next for BTC? on: October 15, 2019, 05:48:06 PM
Continuing my series of weekly updates on Bitcoin price action, the latest looking at the weekly ranged that has been defined by Bitcoin and how price has interacted with it. Never a guaranteed outcome but worth looking at the recent range high rejection and what that means for Bitcoin.

Full thoughts here: https://www.cryptoadvocate.net/post/bitcoin-weekly-update-10-13-2019

This was very insightful and we'll laid out. Bitcoin ride to the 9k levels won't be very easy as at now, there are few resistance along the way that need to be broken. It could keep swinging within this current region for sometime, maybe a little dip by weekend and hopefully a push from next week.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think XRP will start to the moon? on: October 15, 2019, 02:23:37 PM
Coin like XRP has really come a long way and has been maintaining its relevance for the past years. With so many news and developments around it right now, it is safe to say that we are like to have a possible uptrend soon, but that depends on the general market as well. If the market remains with the way it is at the moment, then XRP will sure add a few % to the current price.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Satoshi Nakamoto a single person? on: October 15, 2019, 12:12:42 PM
This has been a very much deliberated topic, one of the big questions on many people's minds concerning Bitcoin. To me personally, I don't think Satoshi Nakamoto is a real name, it's a kind of pseudonym used by the group behind Bitcoin to maintain their anonymousity. It can also be an acronym formed from their initials.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need Tokens at all? on: October 15, 2019, 07:42:46 AM
We actually need some tokens but not in thousands of them. It's getting out of hand already. In 2017 ICO boom,so many tokens entered the market decentralising one thing or the other, alot were grossly unnecessary and today they have died out. Tokens should be backed by real solid projects with good FIAT backbone.
417  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What kind of function would you like to have on an exchange? on: October 15, 2019, 06:43:28 AM
I don't know if this is possible or if there is a way to do it.I want a kind of function where you can set an order with a buy and sell price at the same time. Once the buy order fills, it automatically creates a sell order for the token with the already set sell price. I'm not sure if it's possible with bots, but implementatng it officially in an exchange would be okay.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finding Satoshi on: October 14, 2019, 09:57:38 PM
This same talks about Satoshi Nakamoto has been on everyone's lips in the past years. Over this forums there are a dozens of threads pointing to the same question. Whatever Satoshi is, whether an individual or organisation, I think there anonymousity goes in line to prove the concept of Bitcoin. Finding Satoshi would be Very difficult if not impossible, it's been 10 years and still no success with that just mere guesses.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE reaches 30sats! Do you think it could go higher now? on: October 14, 2019, 08:53:46 PM
DOGE is not much of a top notch alt to trade, it's just one if those pump and dump shitcoins out there. Reaching 30 sats after sometime now is really something to be happy about especially if you had bought the dip.
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Store of Value or Method of Payment on: October 14, 2019, 04:03:26 PM
On a general perspective, Bitcoin as a store of value is not very feasible regarding the fact that it is very volatile.  It's more of a method of payment even though it is not accepted on a broad scale.  To me, based on the fact that Bitcoin is grossly traded, it is can be seen as a speculative assest. The volatility makes it fall short of being a store of value and method of payment to some extent.
