401  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to solo mine on 2-3 comps? on: November 22, 2013, 09:36:21 PM
so i dont instll QT anywhere ele than 1 comp.

then i use miners [on comps without qt] with:
bfgminer.exe -o http://127.0.0.1:6666 -u user -p pass

and thats it? will my entwork even see that port as usable?

Yes, that's it.

Why would your network NOT see the port?   Huh  You're really over-thinking this, it's simple.

I don't get that IP, but then IPs confuse me regularly. Wouldn't you use the IP of the computer that had the wallet running on it?
402  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Solo mining with BlockErupterBlade ASIC? on: November 22, 2013, 09:33:36 PM
I would think that this should be easy since blades use getwork and Bitcoin-QT supports getwork.

Can't you just run bitcoin-QT in server mode as discribed above and point your Blade at the computer running bitoin-QT? You should not need any of the proxys since they are just needed when only stratum is available.

or, if you can find Pool software that supports getwork, that might give you a little more visibility. the thing with Solo mining is tht it often looks like nothing is happening.

Of course, everything i've just said might be wrong, I'm no expert.
403  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: November 22, 2013, 05:54:19 PM
If you are in a  hurry to get your payout so you can cash in, you are in the wrong business. Nothing about Mining happens quickly.

If you feel that the minimum payout is too high, you are in the wrong business. a bunch of small payments will cost you more in transaction fees when you try to put them together to use them.

If you think payouts are slow, try getting Fiat money into an exchange. Heck, try cashing a check that there isn't enough money in your account to cover and withdraw it right away.

If you are worried about the exchange rate dropping before you get a chance to cash out, well, Bitcoin isn't a game for the greedy.

You are not going to get things to happen any quicker at any other pool.

If you want total control, Solo Mine. See what that gets you. *snicker*
404  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Blue Fury Support Thread. on: November 22, 2013, 04:08:24 AM
Can someone tell me what settings I need in cgminer for windows for blues and to dissable gpu mining and only have blues working thx.
Current cgminer has no GPU mining code so it will only mine on devices you consciously set up by associating the WinUSB driver with them.

You took out GPU mining? I'm disappointed.  Cry
405  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Bi•Fury | 5+ GH/s USB Miner [FASTEST USB MINER IN THE WORLD] on: November 21, 2013, 11:24:39 PM

Everyone ASIC dealer out there is reducing there pricing almost every diff change to try and give customer half a chance to meet ROI and you increase price by 50%?

umm... you are a bit behind. Since the exchange rate went up people are raising prices. about 2 weeks ago i got 2 Blue furys for US$125 each on eBay. now they are going for between $200-$400, on eBay. The price of everything has gone up this week. USB ASICminer Block Erupters that were going for $10 -$15 are now between $20 - $30.

If you don't want to pay the price, don't, but currently it seems to be a seller's market.

i'm thinking that the bitcoin value is gonna crash down under $100, at least for a few days. But i have no idea why the demand is so great right now, so what do i know. Huh
407  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1200 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan, Stratum, MergedMining, Private Servers on: November 21, 2013, 08:30:10 PM
It just occurred to me, BTCguild has about 25,000 users(accounts). could you imagine what it would be like if they were all as much of a pain in the ass in this forum as the usual 15 -20 of us usually are? Shocked

You missed a 0.  BTC Guild has over 250,000 users.  Of those, about 9,000 are active on any given shift.  37,000 have logged into the site within the last week.

oh, i just noticed active at the time. surely some of those accounts are no longer active.

409  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: November 21, 2013, 04:43:48 PM
Both the Lancelots and the Bitfury boards are controlled through USB. I am thinking they will continue to use USB. I believe it provides more control for overclocking.
Nope. Ethernet only. The bitfury boards are also not controlled via USB... not sure where you got that from.

I suspect that he is thinking Red/Blue Fury. Too many Fury names out there, confusing.
410  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [SOLD OUT] ASICMiner Cubes. 30-38gh/s - USA - 1.49 BTC - Price protection! on: November 21, 2013, 03:48:14 PM
One of my customers sent a picture of their wall of cubes. I figured you guys might like to see.

They lock together nicely...

at least one is slacking off.  Tongue

I used to mine on slush a very long time ago... Good old days.
Too bad i can't cash out the remaining 1.6 mBTC Cheesy
Minimum is set to 0.01.

I believe that if you close your acount, it will cash out the remainder.

Just to be clear on this, I only have 0.00623661 BTC and I really don't stand a chance of mining to the minimum of 0.01 so if I were to close my account would I be paid out the 0.006 even though it is below the minimum payout?

yes, that is my understanding.
412  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: November 20, 2013, 05:17:04 PM
Do invalid shares almost always happen late at night when no one is watching?  I see 20896 is invalid, would have been a little after 11:30 PM EST I think.  Perhaps it's me.  I tried a glitchy USB BE before bed and gave up when it came up with half second flashes of the LED.

It is always late at nite somewhere.  Tongue
413  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: A case study in entry-level mining on: November 20, 2013, 02:02:25 AM
I was right

BitCoin just hit AUD$870. If I had not reinvested, I would have made a profit. Not as much as if I'd just bought and held BTC, but all the naysayers about never achieving ROI have been -- suddenly -- proven wrong. My original prediction that the price of BTC would go up as more people adopted it was spot on.

Go with your gut.  Smiley
414  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: November 19, 2013, 02:16:39 AM
Dave, you need to put more v1 Hboards up for sale, you're killing me man!   Smiley

v2.2 HBoard is more likely to be produced in the future and I got 28 empty slots to fill Cheesy

who in their right mind would buy V3 MBs knowing that they'll never be able to fill the slots? that would be the message they would be sending if they stop producing H boards for V1 & V2 MBs.

417  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Are miner pool thieving away? on: November 16, 2013, 09:57:23 PM
It isn't just the increase in difficulty that causes you to earn less. any increase in hashrate will adversely affect how much you earn.

Not until the next difficulty adjustment.

Even though my take isn't mathematically sound, i can't help believe that it is true. I can't help but believe that at some point one miner's production will interfere with other's. Especially with such high hash rates.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's time to fork Bitcoin on: November 16, 2013, 08:49:02 PM
We don't need to fork BTC, we need to Spork it!
419  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Are miner pool thieving away? on: November 16, 2013, 08:41:34 PM
hmmmm simple answer. if your hashrate is constant, every week you will earn less Bitcoin than the previous week. This is because of new hardware coming on line. How much less you will make depends on how much hardware comes online how quickly. Bitcoin is designed to try and create no more than one block every 10 minutes. Adding hash power causes bitcoins to be made faster. the dificulty is adjusted to compensate for the increased speed. Every time someone does something to make themsleves more bitcoins you make less.

The pools aren't taking more than their advertised share. It is just that there is a lot of competition to get a bigger share of a finite number of coins.

Not every week but every difficulty hike... about once every 11 days...

It isn't just the increase in difficulty that causes you to earn less. any increase in hashrate will adversely affect how much you earn.
420  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTC Guild cheating / being cheated? on: November 16, 2013, 08:33:34 PM
Here's a strange coincidence - just when transaction revenue was all time high (source: http://imgur.com/fVnj0PV,yklZue7) the BTC guild pool luck was all time low (source: http://imgur.com/fVnj0PV,yklZue7#1)

This accounted for hundreds of BTC lost revenue for the miners.

Coincidence? What do you think?

I've come to the conclusion that everyone is in the same boat and to compensate they just go out and buy more hashing power to make themselves feel better.

Yes, we are all in the same boat, and it is sinking. more hash power just helps us bail faster.
