i wish i visited hawala BTCtalk thread before sending my token in for the coinswap to ifs. I was just going thru my old bookmarks and saw an announcement for the coin swap and just sent the old coins in immediately. it's been 4 days and am yet to receive the new coins. Oh well, it was just airdropped coins but it was worth approx $250 and that was two weeks grocery there.
the coinswap was quite a long time ago. Maybe they are not checking it or sending them anymore? I do remember my one took a while before i got them also though and the dev was helpful when i messaged him and sent them the next day. Did you try PM to the dev to see if they can assist you too yet? Honestly no i didn't. i guess i should have tried that first before yapping. Thanks for bringing me back from fudiville. I did wait 4 days before yapping though, so that should be worth something  I will like to add an update that i sent a pm op, went on their website and sent an email to customer service and i have yet to receive a reply. |

Some might choose to be a prudish about it, but a privacy centric coin merging with an adult content provider is a great fucking match. That's like bread and butter, mac and cheese, PB&J type of cohesion. You can choose to be offended or see it as a win for crypto. This is an actual case use and automatically elevates verge to an esteem higher than most of your beloved coins that have no real use but to be traded on an exchange.
Sure Verge might have palmed a few hands to make it happen but we all know nothing in life comes for free. Something you might have to do thing others find deplorable in other to make shit happen. Especially when the long lasting effect of such act is exceedingly positive. I personally see this as a win for crypto, especially for privacy related coin. If their is a bump in mindgeek's figure , i bet other privacy coin will be heavily courted by other adult content providers. In all, it aids in encouraging adoption.
I'm a big fan of verge but there are a few problems with everything. 1. The Partnership isn't bad for crypto and exposure for Verge. The issue is how profitable will it be? everyone keeps saying its genius due to the amount of traffic, but how much of that traffic looks for anything other than porn, ads are annoying to them. Also who pays for porn these days? a very small amount and then out of that small amount who needs to keep it private. One of the marketing phrases was 'now you don't have to hide your porn usage from mum'. I mean cmon. 2. The partnership may have pigeon holed them from potentially bigger things. Other companies have boards and shareholders and they are most likely not wanting to partner with someone asociated with the porn industry. could be putting all your eggs in the one basket. 3. Before the announcment, over the weekend they transfered the coins received in donation from the community to an online wallet on Binance. Now that was a major red flag they were looking to sell some before the announcment, sure enough 15mins before the announcement and the mother of all dumps happen. That is a slap in the face of the community, remmember that was the 'communities' coins they did that with. 4. They had a hard fork after the hacking last week and refused to aknowledge it. That caused all types of issues with mining pools and a lot of coins were lost from miners that were mid way through. 5. Having an announcment for an announcment is inside trading. They knew that would push the price up before the day (buy the rumours sell the news) for Point 4 to occur. All that has really left a sour taste in my mouth, its shady practice and its throwing a lot in the face of the Verge community yet people in the community dont seem to care.... Trust, I get it man. Of late there has been a lot of issues with verge that i find annoying but my praise is strictly restricted to the proclaimed partnership. Sure an immediate profit might not be noticed, but the long term effect will be overwhelming positive. Don't underestimate the power of porn. Like you mentioned, this sites do log some serious traffic globally. You will have individuals that were unaware about anything but Bitcoin soon talking about verge. Also most companies that would have an issue with adult content will likely go the ripple route before considering verge. This companies you mentioned are not interested in promoting privacy, cos privacy in away negates capitalism to a sense. In the perfect world, promoting our privacy will be ideal to this companies but in the fucked up world we currently live in, privacy is a niche subject to this huge establishments and the few that encourage it is the adult content provider. Again, don't understatement the power of porn in pushing tech products forward, we all have heard about the vhs/betamax saga. The adult industry can be credited for investing heavily on virtual reality project and last but not least, the adult industry popularized electronic online payment  And to the guy above, yes i know verge is not truly a privacy coin but it's been promoted as such thus the reason i use the word. We all know golf isn't technically a sport but more of an advanced leisure activity but that doesn't stop sport center from broadcasting golf. Am not celebrating verge as a privacy coin, rather am celebrating the partnership which is a win for crypto in general. The whole plan is to push the adoption rate, and this is a small step forward towards that goal. |

You should be glad that the Dev team spent 48 sleepless hours on making sure the blockchain is working again instead of worrying about your missed out payments. No, not really. This is getting tiring. I have to check this thread every day or so to see whether there is yet *another* mandatory update. It's getting old. And if you don't understand why that is bad, ask yourself about ease of use as it relates to user adoption. Is there a relationship between the two? Hmm. That's not nearly as complicated as the theory of relativity, but some goats won't understand what I have just said. You do realize that this is a tech product, not printed money. It's not a one time and it's done kinda thing. Consider yourself lucky that you are part of it in it's infancy. Could you imagine how many updates were needed to effectively run an Eniac or one of those earlier computer system from the 50s/60s/70s and even the 80s? Can you imagine how many updates Facebook does daily, just because you don't see it, does not mean it not happening in the backend. It's a tech product, which means there's codes involved and bugs might be imminent. You lucky to get involved at an early stage, so you get to experience some of the inner workings before it get big enough for A.I related duties to be introduced. As for me referring to a certain individual as a goat, i believe my reason for the quip is pretty clear. No one is losing money if no one got paid. If the world end tomorrow, you can't complain about been cheated out of life if no one survived, cos that which we call life ceases to exist. Anyway, Some ppl like modular, some prefer semi modular, and some rather a non modular experience. You can appreciate tinkering, or you can go a route similar to ripple, or just leave the whole crypto space and go back to the comfort of the current traditional financial structure. It has only been a few months since I got into crypto so I am, I suppose, you can call a noob. I have done some reading on BTCP and I am not sure what to think of it. Lot of comments saying it is a scam but then there are also people saying it is a solid coin. I want to invest but I am not sure with all the mixed comments.
Anything new about this coin and team I should know about?
One of important things to understand about this coin is that the float is extremely small. The devs lied and claim the circulating supply is over 20+ million coins right now, but it's not. It's much lower, likely not even half that much. But even if it were possible to have 20+ million coins in circulation right now, that is still a small number. What this means is that the price can be easily moved. When there is a little bit of solid buy pressure, it will fly and it will fall just as fast with some panic selling as well. So when panic or fomo hit, the price is easily moved. There are simply not enough coins in circulation (or big enough exchanges) to absorb heavy pressure. It's also important to realize that eventually it may get on a decent exchange and the larger bitcoin holder might start sweeping more btcp into circulation. There is a potentially large supply that could still be dumped on the market. As long as the price remains low and the coin is only tradeable on small scammy exchanges, these bigger players will not likely bother. But it could be a factor in the future. Right now, medium to large players simply can't do much. There is not enough liquidity on TS or Nanex. Then of course, the biggie; the dev team. |

Just maybe this guys saw how whalecoin was manipulated and dumped by Rhett (BTCP Dev) and saw how ppl that got into Zclassic due to Rhett lost their life saving in proportion similar to Bitconnect and they want to prevent others from going thru similar woes with this coin. |

Update from discord:
Statement: 14th. April Issue - Dual Chainsplit, Wrong updating
Today, while we were having our update, some pools did not properly update, which made us ending up with 3 different Blockchains.
The main Blockchain was stuck at Block 225000 - for several hours, while 2 split chains were running. High hashrates on the wrong Pools made our Masternodes and Wallets, switch to one of the corrupt Blockchains.
We have now wiped out other Blockchains and took over our own Blockchain with the urgent update.
Please follow instructions stated by @Kevin "pixelz" Collmer in order to update your wallets and masternodes properly.
We will soon work together with the exchanges to bring things back to normal. We would still suggest you not to send any alqo around until we give you green lights.
To Pool Owners/Miners:
We know we made some Miners angry with the last updates in reward allocation, but this is not the way how to fix issues, this hurts a lot of investors, and also your mining source.
If you are not sure how to update your pool, feel free to contact us, BEFORE the update is due, next time.
I do agree that this is not the right way to go about it, but like i mentioned before, this coin wouldn't be shit without the miners. the miners are responsible for creating and contribute considerably in maintaining the integrity of the platform. then without a vote, they turned around and fucked them all. Where is the decentralization in that. POW just showed you who really matter. Take care. |

One thing I don't quite understand, me being fairly new to cryptos etc.
If I send some Ether, how can they send me anything back or even know where to send it to or confirm it was me who contributed (apart from a public key on the Ether blockchain).
Most other token sales I have seen so far also want to know who you are for KYC purposes - although this seems a legal grey area.

If you feeling that compelled to receive a token, just send me your ether and i will send you some bs erc-20 token i created. same principle here, at least am upfront about my intention. |
