This sounds like an interesting project, however it requires that more stable exchanges are used to trade the coin. Is there some other exchange on the road?

Yeah, we have been working with one of the top 5 over the last 45 days and they claim they are going to decide on Jan 24 if we are listed or not -  but they demanded they stay anonymous or deal can fall through.

If that falls through Im going to be working with coinexchange.io and the decentralized ones that inblue posted a lot closer.

Please Everyone Read this:

http://wiki.biblepay.org/Proof_Of_Loyalty

This is what I am working on to stave off the botnet.

The idea here is to ensure we have the information explained in a clear manner that captures the essence of the two key algorithms, so they can be conveyed as an enhancement to PoBh, and that so everyone understands the algorithm.

The plan is to enhance PoBH to be a hybrid: PoBH/POL.  This will also help reward our loyal investors, those who help tithe the children, with the propensity for more rewards - and also, to help us make mobile mining on mobile phones a reality for the poor unbanked in the world.

My plan is to add the algorithm to testnet only, and to start testing this in a couple days in testnet.

Please if you have any concerns or questions lets discuss them so we can make this the best enhancement possible, and also regain our network back at the same time.

If we can test this over the next 30 days in testnet, we could potentially go live end of March with a mandatory.

Note, I do want 50 or so of us to start getting ready for testnet again, but a mandatory upgrade will be required for testnet so please ready machine but do not bother syncing.

PS Ill add Pool Effects to the wiki.

Pool question ... what is the difference between a PhysicalMachine and a LogicalMachine?

I found some info online:

A physical machine is physical server, while a Logical Machine is a virtual machine/server - for example a VPS - that resides on a physical machine.

Another pool question ... what is "ElectricBill" ... and does it factor into the reward equation (hps/shares/etc = reward) for pool miners?

All electric bill is, is a static calculation for fun that divides the logical hashing machines (in attempt to sum the total watts expended per month) by that factor to show the estimated electric bill (at 10 cents per kwh) per month for that number of logical miners.

Its not used for anything.

Maybe you don't get my point. I think 3000+ users double check same hash numbers. I do not pretend I'm correct or that I understand. I just remember an old post of ByblePay saying multiple users "solved" same blocks in the pool.
Whatever is that botnet I think they use unique hash check code - it's open source. By my assumptions 100-200k unique hashes can beat our pool with 1 850 000 total hps. Anyway I continue to hoDL that machine in background HT cores with about 3100 hps. At some moment I'll hit 7000+ coins. Positive expectancy is because I'll not have fees and competitors aren't doing unique hash checks. If this is so then the most effective miner is solo machine. If I put 10 solo, then I'll increase the income by let's say 7 times not 10 (related to double hash checks between nodes).

Thanks!  Thats what I want to talk about- I didnt want people to get the impression you did technical testing and proved the pool was worthless.

So about 20 days ago, I did an actual SQL test, because I save all solutions in the database for a period of time (every hash solution, every nonce, every exec biblehash constuent, so I can replay the solution if I want), and I did find about 15% of the solutions were being repeated.

To fix that, I added the 14 pool addresses, and started enforcing distinct nonce solutions.  So now 100% of the solutions are distinct.

So no- no one is being awarded for the same solution anymore as anyone else.  If miner X solves share Z with nonce 150, no one else in that round is allowed to solve a share with nonce 150 (work is rejected and then they receive a new share).

Did you get the version right - I see on https://launchpad.net/~lichtsucher/+archive/ubuntu/biblepay
Package ▴    Version    Uploaded by
biblepay    1.8.0.2-xenial1    Lichtsucher (3 hours ago)
biblepay    1.8.0.2-trusty1    Lichtsucher (3 hours ago)

Version should be 1.0.8.2 ?

Oh, you are right! I made that mistake yesterday night and hadn't seen it. Never write down version numbers when you are tired Wink
I'm uploading a fixed version.

Wow, I think this is amazing... Does this mean its OK for me to have a daily release now for all linux users?  (Just kidding)...

So youve created a PPA for BiblePay??

This is awesome!

So, how much work do you have to go through when I push a release, or is it all automated?

POOL GOT THIS BUG

multiple users "solved" same blocks in the pool

The pool users solve Shares, not blocks.

The pool users are required to solve distinct nonces, so that cant be happening either.

Please elaborate what you are talking, or did you make this up because it felt good?

Hi all,

I'm continuing to HODL 1 server (2x6 cores) on solo. If I find it successful, I'll put 100-200 cores on solo. I don't think it's a botnet but it's the pool's issues.
If anybody can share some solo stats would be great. Pool software can be improved. I believe 100 000h/s unique hashes can beat the main pool. At the moment it's definitely with negative expectancy compared to solo mine.
I do not believe any of this is correct. (That is insinuating the pool is useless... Its not ....)

If its not a botnet, its an organization with either 1000 PCs, Or a fraudulent program that shuttles the block info across the supercomputer at blinding speed and acts as if its 1000 virtual nodes.

Its not the pool, the pool is 90% efficient.

And the pool does not have performance problems yet either.

EDIT:  And I know this "organization" is solo mining, because they are not hitting the pool with traffic.

A while back Rob posted that he had created 17 additional addresses for the pool. Are we supposed to use them in some way, or is their effect automatic?

I believe it is automatic to us, to help with creating unique work for pool miners to do

Thank you for prompt reply Smiley
I may have a suggestion for the pool, where should I post it it?
If its something we all might need right away please post here, if not post at:

I just discovered (from Bob Barber) Dollar Tree has cases of bibles for $1 each:

https://www.dollartree.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=343435

Not sure what the shipping is (for home deliveries)...

So next time you need to fill your car up with bibles, have a few cases delivered to the nearest store.

Rob, when I run versionreport it gives me only 1.0.8.1 wallets... why?

  "Version": "Popularity,Percent %",
  "1.0.8.1": "205; 100.00%"
They are the only wallets that solved a block in the last 24 hours.

This has been released for windows if anyone is experiencing a crash.  I'll announce it tomorrow once we determine this is definitely the fix.

ROB  thanks for fast answer:   are you sleeping? :O

Regarding keeping the botnet off of this version, all we really did was force everyone to upgrade or go off on a fork- if they are official clients, then they would have had to upgrade.  So its possible we still have the same number of clients solo mining again, while the pool is really only 25% of biblepay now.

It would have been necessary for those clients to upgrade because (even though the 7 minute target isnt working), the parameter that was changed required an upgrade to continue on our 1.0.8.1 chain (IE that 7 minute parameter change forced the entire net to upgrade as it changed the future blockhashes).

Regarding the longer term plan, Im receiving some ideas in the inbox, one from West that I will take a look at in a few minutes.  The one Alex and I spoke about in slack was :  Merging in the PIVX stake miner, staking on thread zero.  However Im a little conflicted on this still, as I think we should fully evaluate what we are trying to solve.  I am against a botnet mining for greed with no loyalty, and the idea with the stakeminer is we are rewarding the loyal biblepay user more of a chance to solve a block, by asking them to stake part of their balance for a greater chance of mining that block.  The pool is what complicates this, as people staking a balance to pool mine does not work very well with fractional shares.  However, if we reward a BONUS to the one who found the block in proportion to the amount of BBP they staked (to help the pool find the block) that may work.  Another words, Im leaning on the idea of making it easier to POW mine with staked balances across the board- whether pool mining or solo mining.

Let me take a look at Wests idea and we can discuss further.

We now have only about 54 Masternodes running ?
I see many with stauts EXPIRED and NEW_START_REQUIRED
Only 43 is ENABLED and 11 WATCHDOG_EXPIRED

Regarding crashing miners and crashing sanctuaries....

I confirm that half of my nodes were affected through the night.

It looks like the problem is a line of code in 1.0.8.1's instand send fix (for logging purposes) that actually crashes the miner.  I'm not even 100% sure that this is the complete fix, but I am creating an emergency fix for this now.

If you crashed, please upgrade to 1.0.8.2 and lets see if this is the problem.  Alex and I will need to valgrind this later today to know for sure.

In the mean time, the unofficial release is out there for 1.0.8.2 for linux only.

Information on masternodes online is correct?
We have 91 masternodes, in contrast to 1.
4020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: January 16, 2018, 04:42:36 PM
where is there only one masternode?  https://masternodes.online/currencies/BBP/
When I checked before leaving home was 71 mn on pool page online

How many coins does a masternode get?
Right now they are getting about 2.5 blocks * 6000 per day...

Yeah, Togo I see that masternodes.online uses a copy of the wallet... They are on a fork.
