Confirmed information I have on the scammer;
- Full name
- Email

Potentially his;
- Twitter account
- Photos of him
- Parents information
- School & location

If I confirm it I'll be contacting the school Wink

I wouldnt do that, if anything send a mail to their parents. Depending on the age they might have still some influence on them.

You are a liar. Youve been caught and now youre trying to save your reputation to lure someone into a bigger scam.

You should try a bit of occam's razor from time to time. Why go for the hard "long con" with rebuilding reputation after you had 1.2 btc? Dont bother answering, you avoided the question above, why bother now. Im not sure what your jam is here, but I personally believe Armour. Its bad enough that they could not secure their machine properly. They will also have a hard time with trades now which will make it even harder to repay the 0.4 they still owe.

since i started investing bitcoins in various things, I'm having to re build my wallet a lot. does anyone know why?

Typical reason is an unclean shutdown. Any infos in the debug.log[1] that might help?

4007  Other / Meta / Re: Question about my activity on: December 19, 2015, 10:53:23 PM
I tried to find an answer with the search function but didn't find one...

Why is my activity stuck at 126 for some time now? Isn't it supposed to go up every two weeks or so?

Every 14 days (always a Tuesday) your activity points will increase by a maximum of 14 points.
You must post in that 2 week period to gain the activity points increase, post 14 times you get +14 activity points, post 3 times you get +3 activity points but it can't be more than +14 even if you post 1000 times in each 2 week period.

The next activity increase is Tuesday 22nd December.

Thank you, clear answer.

Yes, this is correct. It will increase next tuesday, 22nd. We will have to wait and see if your activity increases at thsi point, it should do!

I hope this helps you and gives you a clear answer.

Well almost, let me nitpick a bit. Since funkydog has more posts than activity a single post in a given period is enough to gain 14 activity points. This is true as long as they have more posts than activity. Once activity and posts are the same, you can bank the 14 activity with a single post in a given period and unlock it by posting any time later (given the post was not removed).
4008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: ar76 on: December 19, 2015, 09:34:43 PM
yes I did it. But for example today was to synchronize the portfolio and the power failed and had to start over three years ago that is the beginning and it takes me months to be able to synchronize the wallet

A UPS might help here if power failures are causing database corruption.

Likewise, as others have mentioned, more powerful hardware will help it to synchronize the blocks faster.

Alternativly you can make regular backups of the folder, e.g. weekly. So you would only have to resync the last week instead of rescanning everything. Some report that its faster.

...multibit currently compromises your privacy by sending small amounts of bitcoins directly to multibit developer from your every transaction.
...

Huh? Where did you get this from?

-> https://www.multibit.org/en/help/hd0.1/fees.html

Client fee. Whether or not that compromises your privacy depends on how you use multibit. I would also think that it was changed as 1000 satoshi would be considered dust currently. That would hold up confirmations.

We bundle up these small amounts so that you pay once every twenty sends or so from your wallet.

Didn't know that. I've been using multibit classic for a few years now and never noticed any additional fees. So I guess it's only for multibit HD.

Yes, its HD only. I would argue that you are harldy compromising anything due to the fact that only pay up every 20 TX by default. Additionally IIRC you can pay an amount up front via the donation button that will turn the automated donations off for the number of transactions you donated for. So if you buy them a coffee from time to time there is no extra fee.
4010  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: December 19, 2015, 07:06:21 PM
Can the generated vanity address be used straight away? As long as we hold the private key, I believe it can be loaded into any btc wallet client?

Correct, you can use it right away. To make sure everything worked I suggest to sign a message with the address. That way you know its working without risking a single satoshi.

I see. So by signing and verifiying a message is a good measure to test validity.

I sent coins to a vanity address i generated. It is working.

Yes, signing makes sure you can spend the coins. You can always receive coins on any address, the important question is whether the private key is under your control. Its hardly an issue considering how most wallets work you can be sure its correct once you imported the private key and the address shows up correctly. For the paranoid a signed message should do. I just came back online and can validate that I received .8 btc of the 1.2 btc

I do appreciate the partial return of funds.  It was FOOLISH "campaigning" bitcoin sales to family without proper validation and escrow.

I left a negativ rating for now. If you want me to remove it I will.
4012  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Active Connections on: December 19, 2015, 04:10:29 PM
I have about 6-8 connections. How many connections are necessary for effective connection to peers? The minimum?

Effective connection for what? The minimum you need is one connection.
4013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: ar76 on: December 19, 2015, 04:09:12 PM
I have v0.11.1 version of the core bitcoin
It is not an error, but it has happened that I sync the portfolio and then aperece a box to say that there was a mistake and my wallet have to re-synchronize the start and it takes me semas or even months
I use Windows

Well it wont take months, but without knowing the error its hard to give you advice. Can you copy the debug.log file here please?

You can open it by opening "run" (Win + R) and entering %APPDATA%\Bitcoin. An explorer window will open in the correct folder unless you moved it somewhere else. Double click the file debug.log and if windows asks with which programm it should open it select "notepad".

4014  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why keep a history of transactions? on: December 19, 2015, 03:17:05 PM
The block chain is the key element in how Bitcoin functions. If you read more about how Bitcoin works (specifically transactions), you should start to understand why the block chain exists.

Quote from: bitcoin.pdf
In this paper, we propose a solution to the double-spending problem using a peer-to-peer distributed timestamp server to generate computational proof of the chronological order of transactions.

Bitcoin transactions are sent from and to electronic bitcoin wallets like Blockchain

"Blockchain" is not a wallet, "blockchain" is the decentralized public ledger journal[1] that keeps track of transactions and ensures an order between them.

Are you maybe refering to the service called "blockchain.info"?

, other in market and are digitally signed for security. Everyone on the network knows about a transaction, and the history of a transaction can be traced back to the point where the bitcoins were produced. Keeping record of transactions will help you to see how and when you have used it or traded it

You didnt read what danny wrote above did you?

[1] See the post by teukon[2] below for definitions of both words and why journal is the better word here.

Its a clause in a contract you agreed on. Complaining now is a bit late, isnt it?

Is showing kindness always comes late? You should sprinkle kindness you know. That wouldn't need someone to be trusted/untrusted! You'll feel the happiness of showing kindness.

Oh! Who am I telling all these to? Unfortunately you are a STONE! Cry

I guess thats what they call Karma. Maybe you can find a way out of this, by admitting that you are the sole reason you are in this position.

I have joined this forum in the hopes of launching an innovative cryptocurrency called "Magnesium Coin". But due to some nasty fault I have lead myself into a bad rep. This will also affect my coin during launch.

So my earnest appeal to all those who left a negative feedback, specially the ones who are in the trusted list: Please make my trust rating neutral so that I can successfully launch my coin. Please forget about the past in hopes for  better future.

At least I expect this from trusted buffs in this community. P.S. You won't regret the new crypto because it'll have a completely different algorithm and the ones with a simple PC can be benefited too.

So please think about it and consider my rep. I'll be highly thankful to all of you.

As discussed via PM:

No.
