We need easier ways to BUY them. I think trading them for online game currencies would be a nice market, there are  alot of gamers here and  alot out there looking to sell their gold

And more things to spend them on. Like you sell golds for btc, you spend btc to buy games.
4002  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin stability on: November 12, 2011, 12:17:22 PM
So we have finally gotten it: STABILITY!

I think it's great, the price hovers around 3, and the market seems to have decided on a base value for bitcoins.

This is not good news for currency speculaters, but great news for bitcoins as a currency used for trade.
Do you realize that if more people use it to trade it's price increase? The fact that it is NOT rising means no new ppl start to use it

I asked my father -- who is behind me -- what he thought of this:

"Sounds Un-American, son."

Hi, i'm European.

I don't know what country you are in, but in the USA only Congress is legally able to issue money. I would be careful calling Bitcoin money in America. As a foreign currency, it seems to be acceptable for now.

Yes, and if you for example use EURO you go to jail Roll Eyes

Seriously... wtf

Easy, you start the bitcoin client and wait. 0 connections is no good, wait a bit more and see if they increase.

Make sure you opened port 8333 on your router

Mining Bitcoin with CPU is fail.

If you can mine only with a CPU then mine Litecoin and sell them for BTC, much much better.
4008  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help! Re-loaded Bitcoin software but don't know how to integrate saved wallet on: November 11, 2011, 06:22:11 PM
What about you first download all the blocks?
4009  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help! Re-loaded Bitcoin software but don't know how to integrate saved wallet on: November 11, 2011, 06:02:09 PM
The wallet.dat file is AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin

Just copy paste your wallet there. Make sure you don't lose your wallet, so keep a copy somewhere
4010  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Troubleshooting on: November 11, 2011, 01:05:47 PM
I just tried removing all drivers including the Catalyst 11.10 and installed 11.07.

07 is the last version I see officially supported by SDK on its AMD page and I can once again mine. If/when I update my drivers to 11.10 I suspect it will stop working again. Can anyone confirm SDK works on Catalyst version 11.10?
Every driver is fine, sdk doesn't matter. So, install 11.10 and mine (i have 11.10)

Make sure you install the whole package of course.

I use guiminer with -v -w128 (-w256 is fine too). If you want add -f0, it will make the computer a bit more sluggish but should squeeze some mh/s more.

About clocks, underclock your memory as much as possible, so your card will have a much lower temperature and will consume less. I have a 6950 and i mine with 300mhz memory clock

Good luck, normal people simply do not want to use a computer, let alone learn how to use it...

Using any software is like using alien things for them, they just know the procedure to send an email but if something change, their procedure fail and suddenly no more know how to send an email.

They even have PROBLEMS using facebook...  Roll Eyes

4018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My attempt at spreading the Bitcoin name... on: November 06, 2011, 01:45:11 PM
yeah I forgot spreading disinformation is par for the course around here

in what way is it disinformation?

bitcoins are created at constant and predictable rate, depending on the size of the network.

its incomplete, but its not false... what? they should have added 30 mins to explain exactly how this is accomplished, and why it may vary a little?

come on....
This IS false. Size of network means nothing...

While I question the legality of such a service, I do value the fact that in a world with an increasing amount of surveillance there are still little pockets of resistance.
I also quite like the name of the site. Good luck Smiley
Why it should be illegal? Bitcoin is just numbers, and everything is in the blockchain.
