Update 07/01/2022:
In addition, there is 1 new Legendary but no Hero Members this week.

Rikafip               -> Legendary from New Era Newbie during Merit System kick-off.
I guess this is the last time I was mentioned here ( hopefully theymos doesn't come up with another rank lol), and it happened much sooner than I expected. Can't complain though, feels nice finally getting that Legendary rank. Cheesy
4002  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN][BTCH] BITChro - NFT and Metaverse Ecosystem on: January 05, 2022, 08:23:19 AM
You are senior member of this community and atleast you should research before posting negative comments.
May be you experience  scam Certificate before this but every project is not scam
One thing you should remember that no company will register any project without kyc of their team and fulfill their requirements.
As I explained in Certificate of Incorporation- what it is and why it shouldn't be trusted! , that means nothing as everyone can create fake one since Companies House doesn't verify info submitted there.

Please see below The full detail of registration

So, I checked it out and it seems that someone called "Mark Reginson" is director. How come I don't see that name in your team section? By the way, all those names seem kinda fake to me, especially since there are no real photos or social media links, just drawn images, names and title.

4003  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN][BTCH] BITChro - NFT and Metaverse Ecosystem on: January 04, 2022, 09:55:40 PM
hi i'm trying to buy the token. why do i have to buy at least 1000 busd?
Hey friend I think you should leave a free purchase amount.
I would strongly advise you not to invest in this shitcoin. Pro tip: every time you see some website boasting with ceritificate of incorporation (image below) like BITChro is doing, you can be 99% sure that there is something dodgy going there as that thing is  favorite tool of many scammy sites, in order to appear legit while its completely useless and doesn't prove anything.

Don't get me started on that ridiculous team member section...

4004  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoins and Video games on: January 04, 2022, 09:48:45 PM
So if you played axie for 2 hours per day for 6 months, you would have made 2x. Not awesome, but not horrible neither, definitely not as profitable as people assumed it would be.
To be honest, that's not good at all, to play 360 hours and only double your investment.

Talking a bout blockchain games then this is something that needs investment which you would able to earn after that but look out on lots of scam nft games now which would really result
on losing your investment thats why you should really make out in depth research of things because you wouldnt know on what comes next.

It's true that all those "play to earn' games need some investment if you wanna earn any significant amount of money. My plan is to play Gold Fever, survival mmorpg game that is currently in beta phase. Its not some shitty browser game though, but a standard PC game based on Unreal 5 engine.
4005  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What type of skills need for become a bounty Manager? on: January 04, 2022, 08:24:18 PM
Perhaps more than 80% of the current bounty tasks have not yet changed at all in recent years despite the many new managers. If I can judge, I think the current bounty tasks is too outdated and needs some updating.
This! It always makes me chuckle when I see bounty campaigns paying bounty hunters to write articles. Just think about it, what kind of reach bounty hunter that doesn't even know how to write a proper sentence in English can have, or even better, what kind of article he can create? Can someone imagine people investing after reading  bunch of copy/paste drivel?

The only type of bounty campaign I see working is if it's focused on quality and not quantity, and that's something bounty managers are not interested in as that wouldn't look good for the clients.

To answer OP: first and foremost, to be a successful bounty manager, you need some forum experience, which by looking at your registration date you don't have.
4006  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: January 04, 2022, 07:17:00 PM
Rikafip, let me post it here. I have a little time to review the local board merit statistics in the past year from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. So since we are already into 2022, I think this post deserves to be here.
Good job, one thing though: in order to get the correct merit data we have to wait for this Friday's Merit Dashboard update, as current merit count is up to December 31st 2:27 AM, so basically whole last day of 2021 is missing. It won't change the data much though, but just something to be aware of when creating these charts.

Sorry about graphics [not as good as you have], I'm at the stage of learning how to create graphics, but youtube gave me a good guide on how to do it.
We all have to start from somewhere, but what I would suggest you to try is Google charts. It's very easy to use and it offers decent customization options.

4008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Has anyone used gleam for Airdrop or giveaways? on: January 03, 2022, 02:00:48 PM

Is there any other platform besides gleam you can share as well?
You might wanna check Givelab as well. I've used it couple of times and it's pretty easy to use, which is always good. Afaik, Gleam doesn't have a free version while Givelab does, so it might be a good idea to test it out. Not that paid versions of both of them is expensive (around 10 USD each I think).

what is the mechanism I don't know, if the user is doing or not, I saw it simply give points without doing a proper task.
That's the same way Givelab works, if participant did the task, it wards the points. So yeah, it does check whether task is done.
4009  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: January 03, 2022, 01:44:50 PM
I wouldn't "spam" the Report button that way, if a report is valid, one should be enough. There's no "voting" needed.
More than once someone reported the thread/post, didn't get deleted. And after several other people reporting the same thing, it got deleted. Coincidence? I think not.

In this case, I guess Mods doesn't consider a requirement on a third party website reason enough to lock the thread.
Then why they usually deleted/locked threads in the past, for the exactly the same thing?  Deleting that thread wouldn't set any kind  precedence. Few similar examples, when they advertised airdrop on telegram, and thread got deleted as its not my first time I am reporting similar stuff.

Just noticed suspcious activity in [ANN][ICO] HEIDI - Swiss crypto-token which tokenises the sustained delivery , with thier ANN thread being spammed by redundant "great project" type of posts. It looked like a airdrop giveway in exchange for bitcoinalk comments, and after a bit of checking, turns out I was right and they are breaking forum rules.

ANN archived https://archive.fo/LRJOw

This is from their Telegram group, everything is obvious here

https://t.me/HEIDIICO

This thread : {ann} Bitcoin Ocean - Announcement - Core Wallet 1.0 - Airdrop - Masternodes is using an paid Service it looks like to pump the thread .
And the best is they just doing it like the old school bots have done with " Good Project " and things , just got a smile because havnt seen that for years how they doing.
Have reported a punch of it today and yesterday and guess will be just a ask of time if the thread gets deletetd if they dont stop .
Yeah I am reporting posts on their thread as well, new ones keep showing up constantly. Reason they have bunch of those newbies spamming redundant nonsense is that they have airdrop going on, and one of the tasks is to leave comment on bitcointalk.

Website archive https://archive.fo/sXFFi
ANN https://archive.fo/x0Jr2

So, what's the difference between those two that got deleted, and the latest one I reported?
4010  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: January 03, 2022, 01:24:16 PM
So, few days ago I reported to mods announcement thread that has bitcointalk reply as one of the requirements for their airdrop, which is against the rules.  Few days passed, and nothing happened so far so I am asking if others can report the thread as well, maybe that helps.

Ann thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5379058.0

Quote
What I was trying to do was make it clear that I didn't want somebody to send me a Papa John's gift card, or a Domino's credit or anything like that - I wanted food and I wanted to pay Bitcoins for food. Because if I can buy food with it, then it's it's as real as any other money, right? Food is a basic necessity -- if I can eat from Bitcoin, I can live off of Bitcoin.

4012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TX Cost , fees and gas on: January 01, 2022, 04:50:07 PM
When it comes to erc-20 transaction costs, either suck it up or avoid sending and dealing with those those. I personally chose the latter. Regarding BTC, you might wanna start using https://mempool.space/ so you don't overpay transactions, which many do.
4013  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: January 01, 2022, 04:35:27 PM
There are several newbies who are posting and bumping these threads, so it's likely that they are doing so as part of the bumping service. The topics are still new, but they seem to fit the pattern.

Topic: [ANN]AdLunam - The industry’s first NFT-integrated Engage to Earn seed crowdfund
I already mentioned that one in my last post, it's just that I was lazy to add it to the list. Anyway, it's been sorted now.

As a matter of fact, these guys didn't hire bumping service, but instead they organized an airdrop and one of the tasks is to leave a reply on their bitcointalk thread, as seen on the screenshot of their google form below. While thread bumpers usually write shitty one-liners, posts left by those airdopers are even worse than that as all they usually wrote is "great project", or something along those lines, and its a classic sign that it might be the airdrop case.

Since they didn't hire bumping service they won't be added to the list but instead I reported their thread to mods as hey are breaking forum rules so hopefully their thread gets deleted.

Gazeta is back! I've been very busy these days with shopping for Christmas and New Year's and I did not have too much time left for "cleaning services", but today I did this "chore" too Smiley
Great job, as always!

And a quick question to all contributors: how do you find these ANN threads using bumping services? Is there any technique you use to notice them easier? Smiley
Majority of these threads I identified while scanning altcoin boards, looking for scams. Since I am not so active on the scambusting scene due lack of time, I am using a different strategy. So, I simply check accounts that are currently active in already identified threads and I check their post history to see if they started being active in some new threads as that only can mean that they got another gig.

For example, I checked thread that is already on the list and I saw account dtoni having 1 more post written, beside that thread, and that is [ANN]AdLunam - The industry’s first NFT-integrated Engage to Earn seed crowdfund . One look at that thread and its pretty obvious what is going on, as there are several others recently awoken newbie accounts writing similar nonsense. Rinse and repeat.

Thanks and Happy New Year to all!
Same to you buddy!
4015  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: December 31, 2021, 04:37:43 PM

Grin
Be careful what you wish for!

Evo prigodnog mema Cheesy Cheesy

4016  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: December 31, 2021, 11:19:59 AM

Lista aktivnih clanova naseg boarda u periodu 1.11-30.11.

4017  Other / Meta / Re: Upgrade00 - Merit Source Application on: December 28, 2021, 09:17:00 PM
I've never get merit yet from you as far as I remembered.
Out of curiosity I checked that out, and based on Merit Dashboard you received merit from OP, back in June 2020 for post written in Beginners & Hep section.

Means not having a good post yet on your perspective,  but I think you are very well qualified for the position, as Ive noticed and observed how good poster you are and indeed has some quality response and contributions here.
Even if you never received merit from someone, it doesn't really mean that according to that person you enver wrote a good post, especially if that person is not a merit source as several things have to coincide, like you being active at same boards, at the moment when that person has some merit to share. For example, when I am active enough, my  available merit to share lasts me for a couple of hours at the most and  99% of the time am out of merit as I never save it for later.

Good luck @Upgrade00 with your merit source application!

Yeah, I probably misunderstood your tactic. Anyway, keep it up!

Two new announcement threads that are using buming service have been identified, and will be added to the list. Same recently awoken newbie accounts that were used for bumping recently discovered threads are working in those two threads as well, so no question what's going on.

4019  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Visa Partners With 60 Crypto Platforms to Let Consumers Spend Digital Currency on: December 28, 2021, 04:51:36 PM
But, well, at least crypto owners have the illusion that they are making use of their crypto funds.
Well, it's not the illusion, as they are indeed using their crypto. I think its the other way around: the other side is  fooling themselves, thinking that they accept crypto if they are using some 3rd party payment processor instead accepting crypto directly, peer to peer. Then again, I completely understand businesses being reluctant to accept crypto directly as they still have to pay their suppliers in fiat, meaning they have to deal with conversions. And then you have to add volatility factor, which is not negligent when you have bunch of financial obligations each month.

This change won't come overnight, and ~10 years is basically overnight when we are talking about disrupting current system.

Sadly it is going to take a lot to change that. It's just a question of numbers and money. The larger countries have more of both so they get the love and attention so to speak.
You can even see it in smaller countries throughout the world. The bigger ones with more money get more attention from banks & other financial institutions.
Obviously the ones that support funky things like Panama and The Cayman Islands are exceptions to this, but for the most part money talks....
Another factor are regulations, which developed countries in western Europe and NA don't lack of, and that's what these card issuers (and exchange) like to see when deciding where to expand.

4020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the single worst piece of advice you ever received relative to Bitcoin? on: December 27, 2021, 09:14:32 AM
It's the same advice I received two times: first time back in late 2013/early 2014 and then again in 2017, and it was people saying that it's too late to buy Bitcoin now.

So, first time I heard about bitcoin, I naturally wanted to buy some but couldn't afford one whole bitcoin. On top of that, several people around me told me that it's way too late now to invest in bitcoin and that I should have done done when price is was at the 2 digit number. Since I was inexperienced, I ended up buying bunch of shitcoins instead, which naturally didn't end up well.

Fast forward to 2017 when I came back to crypto after 2 years break. And again listening to the same thing, that it's way too late to invest in bitcoin (at the time it was BTC was between 1-2k USD) . This time I had more experience so instead loading up on the worthless altcoins I focused on BTC. Best decision ever.
