4001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IS UTRUST A SCAM, THEY BAN EVERYBODY IN THEIR TELEGRAM FOR NOTHING on: February 19, 2020, 01:14:22 PM
I wanted to ignore this post but I thought it will encourage them and others (if they really did anything wrong). You probably should contact the project on their announcement thread. This is probably it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2078433.0
The thread is alittle bit active.
Or you could move your post to scam accusation section

4002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the speed of the blockchains on: February 19, 2020, 10:50:52 AM
Speed does not matter if they are centralized. The important thing is to achieve those speed without compromising on Blockchain standard.
If Blockchains are rated based on important the standards, many will definitely have a low score.

You avoid derailing too much and making costly mistakes by sticking to the principle.
4003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proven tennis bettor / Private Service with daily tips provided. 80 percent win on: February 19, 2020, 09:45:50 AM
Interesting. Your service requires proofs I guess. You could let some reputable members on this forum test your service for some times (maybe one or two weeks). This will probably help your reputation here a little. Maybe if you win consistently for over one year, the reputation will increase more.
. This is a fair shout but my bet advisor numbers do pretty clearly show for the past year i have made money every single month with aroundthe exact same stats, i cant fake my bet advisor stuff they log all my work prematch. I cant even tip if the match begins too soon so what i woukd say is that while i can continue to be good and prove it the nunbers are sort of already there to see.

Am not doubting you. Just think you should have some sort guarantee that your service would work all the time. Or you should probably just state your chances in percentage. I guess if you don't perform as expected, your customers won't be really happy.
4004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest winning so far on: February 19, 2020, 08:05:23 AM
Do tricks really work in gambling? I am not aware of that. But some people whom I played with before do mentioned of such thing. It is a bit of a pattern but my view to it is "coincidence" because the house will always win the game, still.

I would call that is strategy. I think strategy really works in gambling, but of course, they should need luck inside the games so they can have a chance to win. Maybe that is a coincidence if they can win with or without a strategy, but luck is one thing that we can not separate from gambling.  The house always wins the game, but some gamblers can win the game. That is because of luck that comes to them in the gambling games.
strategy works but not totally mate because remember that we need luck to win,not only if you are into Sports Betting things that can be possible if we are really familiar with the game, the Team and the Players there is much chances of getting wins.

but in other gambling like cards games or other machine operated gambling bets?nope strategy is nothing but only chances.

Yeah, you are correct. Strategy can help us to win the games, but we still need to depend on the luck itself. Maybe in sports betting, our chance will be bigger because, as you said, the opportunity to win will bigger if we are familiar with the teams. But no matter what gambling games that we played, luck will be the things that we need to consider to continue playing gambling or not. Many of us cannot leave gambling because they really want to win but the fact, they don't remember about the existence of the luck factor.

not true at all  . i already see my friends loosing on the sports betting that they bet  ,  they show me thier bet slip , betting on different teams that they are familiar with  . they even do thier research before this bet made up but still no luck , some of thier picks fail  . dunnot if there is a manipulation going on there or if they are only unlucky that time   .   but still many people loves to play the classic gambling games more than the sports betting games  because of the fun element when you play the actual game yourself  .

Interesting. I always see sport-betting centers where I stay filled up by customers (it's probably reducing thesedays though) and wondered why people keep coming despite the loses. I guessed they mixed the fun factor of sports games with sport-betting. I am a bit surprised you said people love to play the classic gambling games than sport betting. I guess sports betting isn't really that fun... Probably for the most skillfull bettors ( if it isn't really manipulated.).
4005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Illegal gambling in Asian football increased partly because of crypto? on: February 19, 2020, 07:33:30 AM
It's probably thesame way sites or online things that are banned in other countries are accessible in other countries.
I guess the best way to handle this problem is to ask the sites to censor or block people  from the countries where those things are illegal. But what if they use VPN? Harder censorship? Too much of such censorship not a good idea in my opinion. It could be abused eventually.

I the problem could be handled better on Blockchain/decentralized systems. Too dangerous on centralized systems or societies.
4006  Economy / Economics / Re: Using of Blockchain in Election on: February 19, 2020, 06:54:15 AM
Interesting. But I think this sort of thing should be built transparently and by everyone. Things like election hardware and materials need to be open sourced and probably built by the community. I don't really believe that non open source hardware should be trusted in decentralized communities. Hopefully crypto communities will begin to depend more on open source hardware and less on hardware that aren't transparently built.
A true Blockchain election could still be abused in centralized settings

4007  Other / Off-topic / Re: Has anyone in the btctalk forum heard or used CryptoTab Browser? on: February 19, 2020, 05:27:26 AM
A browser that mines bitcoin? not the first that I've heard of it but I would avoid such browsers like this. I don't know them but with that description, aren't you aware that mining bitcoin is difficult these days and it requires you a powerful miner? and even you are into cloud mining, many of them are likely scam.

I will not deposit to their wallets as well.

The users probably earn more Bitcoin through referrals. I think I have seen similar thing around here in the past. Am not sure if it's sustainable or safe. Probably a pyramid scheme? Guess I need to research the project  before passing my judgment
4008  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you guys participate on the Proof of Keys annual event? on: February 19, 2020, 05:09:21 AM
I agree. Not just Bitcoin, but other "real" cryptocurrencies. The health of a cryptocurrency should also be determined by how decentralized it is. If you create a cryptocurrency, it's not a good idea to encourage your users to use centralized exchanges. This is for both the  users sake and the sake of the project.

People should aswell consider the risk of having lots of coins on a single address or smart contract. It is a risky practice in the world of decentralization. My favorite kind of smart contract would be well decentralized smartcontracts... Just lock your coin in wallet you have full control of the keys and let people use it according to the agreed terms
The centralized ones totally broke the decentralization principle.
4009  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: managing capital in day trading on: February 18, 2020, 04:56:46 PM
OK I have had a good week day trading on binance even with the weekend pull back. I am thinking of increasing the amount I trade and maybe take a larger risk, basically move from beer money to rent money. I am looking at capital and what I will need.
I normally trade coins 20-25% of my portfolio for 1% return and I am trying to figure out what my capital should be
While I can do the math on how much I need on paper to achieve trading goals my main issue is capital and what each market can take and get my buy and sell orders filled.
I dont want to set walls on myself that cant be broken.

Also I need to develop a better risk management system when it comes to stop loss. I red an article about regular day trading and it suggested a 1.5% profit target and 0.5% stop loss. The only issue with that is as we know a crypto coin can wick 5% either way in a 5 minute candle
0.5% seem way too tight for crypto.
So what do people recommend - what is an acceptable amount to put into tradres and how do I calculate that and what is a good stop loss percentage

Can you afford to lose the rent money? If no, then I would advice you not to take the risk. You should try building your wealth gradually and patiently. I tend to learn trading better when I don't risk too much. I'd increase my trading fund a little bit as my trading skills get better
4010  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold bubble and Economic situation more what to expect on: February 18, 2020, 01:50:32 PM
Very Interesting one.
I think I agree! Better to start stockpiling lots of useful information than stockpiling the other. Gold will probably be used mostly as store value while Bitcoin Blockchain or decentralization would be useful for information, knowledge,  and used as currency/store of value in very difficult time.
4011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New DEX release - Nika Exchange on: February 18, 2020, 01:25:42 PM
Probably better to allow every coin to list on a separate section of the exchange, which should be open to anyone who wish to do thorough research before buying. The second section (the main section) should be for filtered or well researched coins. By the way, I wonder why Op prefer to keep the "decentralized" exchange private.
4012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do some gamblers actually win? on: February 18, 2020, 10:38:44 AM
You should expect the chat to be misleading if there is no way to prove the claims. This doesn't mean that people don't win though. Winning reasonable amount of money shouldn't happen too often. And the numbers of big winners should be small.
4013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't be a hypocrite and admit that you are a gambler on: February 18, 2020, 09:43:54 AM
I think when people understand what gambling really is, it will be much easier to handle it.
Real Gambling is simply taking big risk. It has much broader definition though, but boils down on risk. Most people take big risk in my opinion.

I don't think it's a good idea to enjoy taking big risk. Could lead to addiction.

4014  Other / Off-topic / Re: Blockchain I.D —What is the most unique things about human that robots don't have or can't imita on: February 18, 2020, 06:11:41 AM
^ Looks or sounds too complicated, but I believe the processes could be handle in a very short time without owners waiting for 1 or 2 hours.
4015  Other / Off-topic / Re: Blockchain I.D —What is the most unique things about human that robots don't have or can't imita on: February 18, 2020, 05:42:07 AM
The names (and other sensitive info like address) on national IDs should also be broken in pieces before name verification is done by the verifiers.

Example: if my names are Paul Anthony Peter, (thesame with the names on my passport), the names are split up automatically (or the owner does the splitting) and six or more verifiers receive: Pa ul  Ant hony Pe ter.

Verifier 1 receives: Pa
Verifier 2 receives:  ul
Verifier 3 receives:  Ant
Verifier 4 receives:  hony
Verifier 5 receives:  Pe
Verifier 6 receives:  ter

The verifiers record the alphabets they received, and that's all. The names are compared (in their order) with the names the owner used on a  decentralized, truely privacy-centered  platform

*Note that none of the verifiers knows each other or know what the other person has.
4016  Other / Off-topic / Blockchain I.D —What is the most unique things about human that robots don't have or can't imitate? on: February 18, 2020, 04:41:54 AM
I think unique identities are very important in decentralized systems. It shouldn't be mandatory though, but it's important.
It will certainly help in the area of reputation

I guess using multiple unique identities will work best. Example, a member of a decentralized community could list some features that are permanent & unique on or in his/her body... Permanent features like birth/after-birth marks, hair/eye color etc.
Other important features include facial feature, precised skin color, fingerprints, palm feature, etc
We could use this to create our own Blockchain identity or combine with our national IDs.

The unique body features, after listed could be hashed, thoroughly encrypted and distributed (decentralized distribution) on decentralized network/networks. You could also store the encrypted data on your personal device if you want to.

✳ Identity Verification
I think Blockchain verification methods should be decentralized as well. I don't think it's safe to allow a single person go through everything that identifies you. There should be multiple random Verifies. Five (5) Verifiers for example could be given different part of your facial image to verify. They compare part of the face with corresponding parts from video camera. Example, verifier 1, (who has access to the picture of only your forehead) demands video verification from you, you switch on your camera using a special app that shows only your forehead and blur the remaining part of your face. The verifier compares his/her image of your forehead to the video of your forehead. If it matches, he/she ticks yes.       Verifiers 2 (who only has access to your nose part) compares the video of your nose while rest of the rest of your face is blurred. Verifier 3 - 5 do thesame thing with the part of your face they have. If you fail the verification, you will probably need to get a clear images or more recent passport or verify through other effective means. Once all the five verifiers are done with their works, your facial biometric is confirmed.         Other random verifiers could do thesame thing with other unique features on your body.
It is just too risky to have a single verifier have access to your full personal identity/data. [*Note:  I guess the verifiers should include some questions during video verification. Questions AI & scammers can't easily answer. The audio should be masked though for privacy sake.]

Once the verifications are completed, all the verified parts are listed & probably numbered, then hashed, encrypted and distributed across a decentralized networks (or held by the owner). Re-verification could be done randomly after sometimes, but it should take alittle long before another verification (re-verification) is done.

This digital identity can be used for alot of things, such as linking it with one's decentralized online trust scores, for safe KYC(if necessary), for investigation, preventing someone with bad trust score from accessing delicate services, for obtaining Blockchain citizenship etc

I think this (or better methods) is the kind of thing many safety/privacy conscious people will participate in.
And it should be made very difficult for non-human entity/entities to be part of it.

4017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First petition to lift CryptoCurrency Ban in Pakistan- your suggestions needed on: February 16, 2020, 04:26:28 PM
One of the ways to get this done quickly and avoid problems is to live in a small autonomous physical community in a very rural area. Or just live a completely decentralized online life, OR both. What is important is living a good, peaceful life and avoid letting the government/law enforcement people see you as a threat.
I will probably move into very isolated areas If it becomes hard/impossible to  live a peaceful, safe, good, healthy life in government run places. You could live sustainably without money in such areas . Or you could rely on bartering, create/use a "local blockchain", use special stones, metals,,etc as currencies
4018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to choose the right bounty for Newbie? Get rid of fake/scam project on: February 16, 2020, 01:53:59 PM
Good Day Everyone......

Upon reading on various topic these past few days and referring to my friends advise to choose the correct bounty, i'm a little bit confuse on how can we identify they correct bounty campaign to join with? Are there any series of steps to identify if the project is fake or not? Do we have a checklist on how we can confirm if the project is going to be a fraud?

As a newbie like us, what can you recommend for us to get rid of those project since a lot of project begins to collapse since BTC is souring high again?

All you thoughts will be beneficial to us.

Regards.

Cryptolico27

I think filtering out bad projects will probably be based on community efforts on decentralized systems and also using acceptable crypto standards. I am not sure if there are agreed standard yet.
Some of my preferred standards for rating crypto projects would be viablity, sustainability, uniqueness, decentralization, usefulness, technical aspects, project simplicity, promotion/marketing, security, ease of use, permissionless/trustless, anonymity, transparency, immutablity etc.
Will not invest in centralized projects no matter how useful they are. Too risky in my opinion, unless you'll be willing to wait or hope for compensation if something bad happens to govt regulated projects.
4019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mail Bombing in exchange of Bitcoin on: February 16, 2020, 01:16:54 PM
Much as I see it as a trap the government or the police shouldn't pay such dubious individual all in the name of bombing in exchange. This would generate mixed reactions towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. Maybe they are cooking some attacks through news media against Bitcoin if they went ahead to pay in bitcoin to the bomber.

Let the police swiftly go into investigation and fetch them out from their hidden, who knows, it might even be bitcoin hatters that want the ransom. Bitcoin is not for illegal activities even though choice belongs to individuals involve spending the coin.

Exactly. A fiat "hater" could easily do thesame thing and demand for cash. I guess an attacker could also use this to justify cashless transactions if a Country is still cash based.

There are available ideas that can be used to deal with crime money without violating Bitcoin core values/features. Values like censorship resistant, privacy/anonymity, immutablity, trustless/permissionless transactions, transparency etc are very important. I think you don't deny people this important rights or values if they aren't guilty of any/serious crime.
4020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is that real TRON has bought Steemit. on: February 16, 2020, 10:57:04 AM
I guess you are not happy with the deal...

Well this is why public voting/concensus is important in cryptospace to allow/refuse/limit such takeover. I wonder if they did that?  The public has to understand exactly what is going on before a decision is made. This should be the case if steem/Steemit is decentralized.
I am not sure if data exchange or interoperability between decentralized and non-decentralized things is a good idea(probably allow moderate interoperability) , unless there is real guarantee that doing so is safe or that the non-decentralized things are fool-proof or "perfect"... This is one of the reasons decentralization matters alot... It's important to be among the most decentralized ecosystems, else you may find decentralized things refusing to share data with you in the future to stay very safe.
Hopefully we will one day have safe, good, easy-to-use and truely decentralized social media in Crypto space.
