4021  Economy / Speculation / Re: The reasons why Bitcoin price drops recently on: March 27, 2021, 09:56:32 AM
The current price correction isn't surprising anymore, you will see this all the time as we are in a volatile market.
A lot of reasons that could change the trend and we can't avoid this. Dumpers and weak hands will easily get affected but for those who actually understand the situation, it finds normal and have nothing to worry about.
I think those who dump bitcoin are either know what they are doing, or simply weak hands, that's it. Currently we have recovered some already, $55k is already a strong support, and I think that the dust has settled a bit, hmm, wonder if we are going to hit $60k again.

We have once at the dip for more many times but we also recover just also in time.
Yes, this dip is nothing of extraordinary, that if you are have been in the market for so long, we all know that this time will come and go.
4022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 27, 2021, 09:19:12 AM
Harrell was a terrible signing in my opinion. Howard manhandling him the other day proved it.

Drummond was in LA yesterday. They say he has meetings with the Clippers and Lakers while he’s there. They’re also saying he is no longer interested in signing with the Nets.
Yeah, right.
I'd rather pick Howard than Harrell.
It's just because of the 6th man award. If it's a big body and a high flyer needed below the rim, it's still Howard who dominates that field.
Obviously, he had changed his game and we witnessed that during the game against the Nuggets.
I am a Nuggets fan but damn, he did well at that time bullying Jokic and it worked.

Drummond is a free agent now. He can pick what team he wants to join but I think Lakers is not one of them anymore.
The Lebron injury could be the one reason.
Not just bullying Jokic, but he really took out Jokic during their playoff match by playing mind games with him. And it throw Jokic's games completely that's why they're able to move past them very easy. Howard really becoming a veteran and showing his experience not just by playing, but talking thrash. Harrell on the otherhand, simply trying to clean up everything under the ring, but with 7'0 footers really playing old school like Howard or Gobert in the West, will be hard for Harrell to match up with them.
4023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto's first post sale on: March 26, 2021, 11:40:37 AM
Imagine that Satoshi Nakamoto reappears and wants to auction his first Bitcoin Talk post as an NFT

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5.msg28#msg28

At what price do you think it would be sold?

Of course, with a proof that it is him and he who sells it.

 Cheesy
For the sake of argument Satoshi reappears and wanted to auction his first post here in the community, I would say it will fetch around 8 to 9 figures.

Of course, we all know that he won't be coming though, and I doubt that he will surface again because he wants to join the NFT hype.  Smiley
4024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 26, 2021, 08:49:55 AM
Congratulations to us who all bet against the Lakers.  Grin
A sudden change on events. Before it was Lakers who will get the upper hand of bets and now flipped over.

Last minute trade:
Look out for the Heat as they now acquired Victor Oladipo in exchange for Avery Bradley and Olynyk.
They lose against the Trail Blazers today but next time they meet I am sure it will be different.
They are on the back to back games, so they will face each other again.

The lost was very close though, if not for Ariza fouling Lillard attempting a 3, the game could go into overtime and the outcome could be different. Another heartbreak for me as I put a bet on "YES", the game will go into OT @9.5 odds. Well if Lillard shot when it, then Portland won, however, the foul was not needed, big mistake by Ariza.
4025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 26, 2021, 08:18:29 AM
Since the big 3 will be out of the Miami Open, who do think that has a good chance to win this tournament? It's going to be a good opportunity for others in the top 10 to break in the winning column here.

For one, Medvedev should be a good candidate here and so is Zverev and Tsitsipas. But there are also a lot of good players in this pandemic, outside of the top 5 or top 10 that can pull a surprise here.
Medvedev now is the number two player not only in the ranking but in his performance too and i think that he is the most favorite one along side rublev and zverev but we could see some unexpected players as well like karatsev who has climbed the ranks quickly and he is performing very well or bautista agut who has gained some of his previous form and he is though to beat.
Yes, Medvedev should be a strong candidate and I think this surface also suit him well. I read that there are no pressure on his shoulder, but I doubt that, climbing to 2nd rank is difficult, and maintaining it is much harder. So he needs to prove and take advantage of the big 3 not in this tournament to at least solidify his position. Karatsev or Bautista Agut is also a good candidate as well.
4026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 26, 2021, 01:34:49 AM
I think Miami and Denver are the big winners of this deadline. Miami picking up Victor Oladipo might be the best trade of the day, but I think Aaron Gordon might end up being the biggest prize. It looks like the Lakers and Nets playoff runs just got a little more difficult. A bit disappointing that not more big men moved. I was expecting the Lakers to do something big.
Well, I think Rondo was a good addition for the Clippers too but I've probably prefer Lou not to be traded but let's see if he can still bring some of those works he has done like what he did on the Lakers.

Quote
Beal, Lowry, Aldridge, Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond, Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball and Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins were among the prominent names who were not traded. Aldridge and Drummond both appear poised for buyouts.
These names got the huge rumors recently yet it goes quiet, seems odd.
The rumor is that Drummond will go the Lakers, multiple sources has reported it already. Maybe they are just finalizing the deal that's why it's quiet.

As for Rondo, yeah, I agree that the Clippers has increase their chances in West with adding Rondo in their line-up. Now we can say that their starting 5 looks pretty solid.
4027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Falling of Ethereum on: March 25, 2021, 10:14:15 AM
This whole speculation about Ethereum could be resolved if we are just going to see ETH2.0 release.

Unfortunately, we don't know if the release will be on time or there will be delay as usual, the huge gas fees is killing investors and projects themselves. And they are push to others like BSC or even ADA and DOT which is not good for Ethereum overall.
4028  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC dump breaks through 53K resistance barrier on: March 25, 2021, 09:43:41 AM
It would be interesting to see people's thoughts, as I'm sure many are panicking right now.

I do expect panicking some of those who didn't read that the futures will mature tomorrow.
If the trend continues for more than 7 more days, it may be somewhat unsettling for me too. But now? No. Not at all.
Do you, by chance, try to get people panicked? I have a feeling you do.
Exactly, we will see the bitcoin future mature tomorrow and then observe what is going to happen next. Previous months says that after the maturation, the price suddenly picks up and then push for another all time high. I'm not saying that the trend might continue, but chances are people are going to buy in the dip again so instead of panicking, smart investors are going to take advantage of this opportunity again to accumulate more BTC.
4029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If stock market starts to crater, should we switch to BTC or USD? on: March 25, 2021, 08:59:58 AM
If the stock market comes crashing down as some predict, what will you do with your alt coins? Swap them for BTC? I know that many view BTC as a safe haven (like digital gold) but historically, BTC prices have been positively correlated with the stock market. That said, in the case of an actual market crash, I think BTC could act like digital gold and appreciate since it's now more widely accepted as a "real thing" than ever... Perhaps just selling everything for USD and buying real gold would be best? What are your thoughts? TIA
Yeah, I think personally I will switch to BTC only if the stock market crashes. You are correct that there are still correlations between the two market, and mostly when stock goes down, bitcoin at least goes up.

I think the simply explanation is that stock investors are shifting to bitcoin because it is one of the safest haven for now. We have seen this in the past, so I wouldn't be surprise that it will happen again, in case stocks plummeted again.
4030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos ordered by IBF on: March 25, 2021, 08:43:24 AM
According to ESPN, Lopez ranked 1st, meanwhile, Kambosos ranked 10th. For sure, Kambosos is the underdog, BUT he also has a 100% win rate! This will be a nice match.
However, I'm sure Lopez will win because his actual weight is not lightweight IMO. He will dehydrate to pass the weigh-in and buff himself on the match day. So basically, Kambosos will have to deal with a bigger and younger opponent. #RIP
Kambosos is unknown to US boxing fans, he may have this opportunity but I think he will taste his first defeat here. Lopez is really peaking and reaching his prime years now, specially on how he defeated Loma. For sure the Lopez will be the favorite in the betting odds, so yeah he will stay in this division but with too many great champions, I don't know how Kambosos will stay relevant.
4031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 25, 2021, 08:15:44 AM
What a pain watching the game of Nets vs. Utah Jazz. The starting five for Nets wasn't that even strong to face the first 5 of Jazz.  Undecided
I guess that the Nets, they'll try to win the next game against the Pistons.
Wasn't able to watch the game, but I was checking the score during the first quarter and I said to myself that there's no way that the Jazz are going to lose this one, going to be a massacre.

Yes, they can move on and try to win against the Pistons to go back to the win column again, the question is whether Harden can play or not.

4033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 24, 2021, 09:37:29 PM
I follow the NBA only on the sidelines but i what i really like about this league is that teams that were weak last season can be really strong in the next season, which is exciting.  Smiley
Just look at the brooklyn nets. I don't think that they were being called a candidate for the NBA title once in the last 10 seasons, but now they are so strong.
The tables of the european football (soccer) leagues are way more consistent in comparison.

You can make an exemption on the Nets as they have a new starters, they have a big 3 (harden, Durant, and Irving), just like the Suns also, they have Chris Paul so they also improve this season. The only team that does not have a lot of stars and we've seen some improvement this season is the NY Knicks.

I agree, after a long-time playoffs drought, they will more likely get to play in the NBA playoffs this year since they already manage to get some spot in the top if nothing will change this few months. New York Knicks has improved since the last season and their players are competitive this year. They don't need another star player in the team cause those guys are enough to win guys with their strong chemistry.
I think I would say that the Knicks are the biggest surprises this season. They started really slow, and just before the all star break, they found their groove and chemistry. And then really blossom as a team, day in day out everyone is giving 100%.

So they are going to a playoff contender now. Sometimes it doesn't need a star player to make the team better, just like what Miami did last year. Julius Randle is having like a second wind on his career.
4034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jerome Powell about Bitcoin on: March 24, 2021, 09:30:17 AM
FED chair Jerome Powell says cryptos such as Bitcoin still too volatile to replace the US and deemed it a speculative asset. $BTC enjoyed price surges this year as major companies adopted and invested in the token.
What are your thoughts?

Hmm, let's see:

Bitcoin volatility? ☑
Speculative asset? ☑
Will not replace the $ ☑

So I don't think that there's something new about FED chair Jerome Powell's statement about BTC.
They still didn't know what bitcoin or crypto in general offers to us.
4035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Rodriguez - April 10th on: March 24, 2021, 08:58:21 AM
I think there's two kind of ring rust, (1) those fighter who got injured or sort of taking a break from fighting (2) fighters who are eager to fight but can't because of the current situation. I think Ancajas fell on the second option. And what makes this ring rust very dangerous is that you are really wanted to fight again, an overwhelming feeling. So for me, it won't have a big effect for the champion. Ancajas by decision or knockout.
4036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nicole wants to give up her taxi in exchange for bitcoin on: March 24, 2021, 07:59:37 AM
I'm not really sure if she will starve to death, it's either

(1) she has a savings already, that will last her a good year or two, so she invest what she can afford to lose
(2) she will probably sell at some point to get profits, at least get some so bring food in the table

We could already speculate that before she sells her taxi for BTC, she had think about it over and over again and that is her final decision. You can also see another example here, This family bet everything on bitcoin when it was $900 – and bought more when it crashed in 2018. It's the risk that they are willing to take.
4037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teams on your personal blacklist on: March 22, 2021, 10:36:14 AM
I don't have a personal list. But maybe I have teams that I don't like to beat because they are very inconsistent.

I know that some of the games might be fix, but if there are no proof then we can't say for certain that a certain team has thrown the game itself. Maybe the team are just unlucky. Last time I bet on basketball, I have my team leading by 23 points, but they lost in the end. But I don't see them throwing the game. Anyhow, let's hear more experience sports bettor here.
4038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Investing on: March 22, 2021, 10:03:16 AM
I’d like to get some opinions on Altcoin investing strategy. Here’s where I’m upto.

1.   Only invest 1% of portfolio
I'm not really sure though, maybe you need to increase at least 20%, personally, I'm 40/60. 40% on altcoins and 60% bitcoin.

2.   Take out initial stake after 3x gain
Yeah, good strategy, and then reinvest on others, rinse and repeat

3.   What about taking further profits, selling out completely? I’ve read that altcoins will lose 60-90% of their value when altcoin bubble bursts.
That's why you really need to monitor those altcoins that you are going to invest. Altcoin investing is much riskier that's why you really need to focus on it. For example, follow their official social media accounts and see how it is doing.
4039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bicoin is making many rich how did satoshi come about this idea on: March 22, 2021, 09:30:03 AM
Well it pretty much say's where he got this idea as written in the Genesis block.

He wanted something, a creation that will change the whole capitalist system. A decentralised technology with no boundaries (p2p, micro-payment) and for everyone to used.
4040  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Regulations in Luxembourg on: March 21, 2021, 10:54:13 AM
They still have to follow FATF rule and other world financial regulations as far as crypto goes.

But this is still welcoming news indeed, but it's no surprise that a first world country like Luxembourg is adopting blockchain as this is a life changing technology. Banks and other sectors are reaping the benefits of blockchain so it make sense for countries to adopt it and then have their own framework for crypto and blockchain as well.
