4021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are big Bitcoin miners not destroying Alt coins with a 51% attack? on: August 10, 2019, 03:03:06 PM
2. Money - Could they ultimately lose more income, if they stop mining Bitcoin and then get less gain by doing a double spend? <51% attack>  Roll Eyes
3. Nothing to gain? - Destroy one Alt coin and 2 will spring up in it's place?
Economics is everything when it comes to huge mining corporations, there is nothing to gain when they are destroying the alt coins but if they decide to do that the amount of power and energy they are spending just to destroy something without any return is a fool's errand and no one in their right sense will do anything of that capacity until they have an agenda to destroy a particular alt coin.

4. Everyone lose - When the media find out that a 51% attack were succesfully executed on a Alt coin, it might give all Crypto currencies a bad reputation. < Possible investors will turn against Crypto currencies, because of the security risk? >
If someone really decides to attack a certain alt coin, do you really think that they will think about the implications what the media will bring to the coin, it is not a new thing that coins die off and even ETH had a rollback without any consensus, if an alt coin dies no one cares unless it is a top level coin in the market list.

I am curios to know why large mining operations are currently playing fair, when they have the hashing power to destroy most smaller Alt coins. Let's discuss the possible reason why they are not doing this.  Huh
As mentioned above, it is all about financial gains as they have invested heavily into mining and time is of the essence as the mining reward goes down with time and the competition is really high in the mining sector and there is no point in spending their electricity to destroy something is the simple reason large mining operators are not doing anything stupid. Wink

He is annoying, no matter how badly I try to ignore him. And his retaliatory trust "feedback" is clearly an abuse.
He had his temp ban and didn't learn anything, so indeed @theymos should do something about him.
He is abusing the forum for a very long time and behaving like a kid for far too long, he is here in this forum for the financial gains from heart broken users giving fake promises and there is something theymos must do to prevent these from happening, if he is calling out scams it is well and good but he wants to be the judge and the executioner Roll Eyes , there are 16,117 deleted profiles in this forum and it is time to add one more to that list.
4023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 06, 2019, 07:57:40 PM
After 2 wickets fell and with Sharma not there, I was a bit scared but glad they managed to get the runs and finishing it with a six. Kohli and Pant's partnership was extra ordinary today and they proved that they don't depend on Rohit alone. 3-0 :-D
Finally we saw Rishabh Pant scoring freely in international cricket and he remained not out chasing the West Indies total, we all knew about his potential but this is the first time he maintained his promise in the international cricket, India won the match with 5 balls remaining and white washed the series. Pollard played well for West Indies but Saini broke that partnership. With the introduction of IPL, India does have some strong players in the shorter format of the game.
4024  Economy / Reputation / Re: This game-protect fuck is the best annoying character on: August 06, 2019, 05:41:33 PM
This game-protect bastard is very good at ruining good time. Ignore button does not work for trust feedback. I think theymos needs to write a manual script to stop this fuck from leaving feedback on users trust wall.
I do support your sentiment, even i was thinking what is issue was and he is playing the good cop, he has a thread giving a bounty if someone comes up with an accusation whether he has scammed anyone which is a joke, he never recovered anyone's money in the first place and you will not find any claims regarding that other than from shill accounts. He takes money upfront for his service and he is really giving false promise to people, if he is that confident why on earth he takes money upfront, rather will take a percentage of the money recovered, since he wants to mislead people with his good cop attitude his only intention is to take advantage of the grieving users and loot them further.

I am not going to block him because i like his drama sometimes but there is ~ trust for people like him, if he has a legit claim about the site being a scam, he has to furnish the proof and if he could do that and if he does that i will never promote something that is likely going to be a scam.
4025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will China Accept Bitcoin As A Currency? on: August 06, 2019, 04:20:52 PM
China is appearing to soften its stance on cryptocurrencies as of late
Good to some positive news from China after a very long time and with the trade restrictions being imposed upon them by the US, they might feel that bitcoin market could over come those trade restrictions and they might levy the unwanted restrictions they imposed on bitcoin and the current rally might be boosted by the news from China, i am not expecting China to accept bitcoin as a currency but merchants could understand the true potential of bitcoin and use it to have a free trade worldwide and overcome the restrictions.
4026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 06, 2019, 11:29:27 AM
Why in the world do youngsters like Saini get carried away when they perform well? These kinds of players will probably never make it big in the Cricketing world thanks to their own stupidity. Lots of potential, but there isn't any point if you can't control your emotions.
He is a youngster and do not judge him by one bad performance or his send off after taking a wicket, after all it is just a game of cricket and you are not able to let your emotions is just not acceptable, unless there is a physical altercation they have to let them show their emotions, let him grow as a cricketer and with experience he will be an asset to the side as he got the pace.
About today's match between India and West Indies, it is highly unlikely we will see the match as the weather forecast is not that good and we might see a washout today as it is raining from morning.
4027  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Local bitcoin trading site doing KYC NOW on: August 06, 2019, 08:31:50 AM
Finally the KYC procedure not user friendly, If we produce the right id proofs then also getting rejected. If it continues we dont no what happen to LBC next?
The authorities are putting pressure on them to comply with AML rules and regulations if not they will need to migrate to other countries where there lenient and if not they will force them to shut the site completely. I have not traded in LBC for sometime now and i am not sure about their policies now but if they are not friendly with the customers then they are bound to loose the customers as there are other ways to make transaction and Paxful is a good alternative.
4028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 06, 2019, 07:00:51 AM
How they are planning to attract new audience, when the tickets were priced so high? The only aim was to make as much money as possible, by robbing the Indian and West Indian expats. The only locals among the audience were a few cheer girls. The ICC need to stop using the rich American expats as money making machines. Give them some respect.
If money was the sole purpose they would have conducted the series in India where they get sell out crowds with each and every match and to play in a neutral ground it has to be something else than money and it is to promote the sport of cricket to the American audience, not sure how successful they will be nor anyone will bother to learn a new sport but these kind of exhibition matches will benefit cricket and if it was an interesting match then you could attract new audience but both the matches were slow paced and one more T20 left, hopefully we will have an entertaining match.
4029  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-02]Elliptic Launches Data Set to Identify Crypto Money Laundering on: August 06, 2019, 05:32:21 AM
According to the announcement, the product is designed to help users more efficiently identify illicit transactions, as well as transactions associated with money laundering, sanctions violations or terrorist financing (CFT). At the same time, the product should reduce compliance costs and eventually eliminate criminal activity from cryptocurrencies.
It is a good initiative to reduce and track illegal activities in the market but i am not sure how they are planning to achieve those goals and identify whether a fund is used for illegal transactions or terrorist funding unless you identify the people behind those transactions, does that mean that all the KYC you fill up in exchanges and other platforms will reach them  Roll Eyes. Criminal activities in the market will be eliminated as there is nothing you can hide from the blockchain.

I also wasn't sure about the bowling attack Australia went in with as Strac is Australia's number strike bowler and for him to not be selected
I thought Strac had some sort of injury to miss out the first test match, if that is not the case i am not sure what the selectors were thinking, either way the return of Smith in the team has made the difference as he is one of the best players in the longer format of the game and the team was missing his presence for a long time because of his suspension, if he was not in the team then the results would have being different and Lyon bowled really well to finish things off.

That was some epic choking by England today, Australia looked dead & buried after their first innings. England should be ashamed of their batting performance today.
Look at the one day strike rate of Jason Roy, Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow they all have a strike rate of above 100 which is incredible but to have the patience to bat longer in the longer version is the real test and they proved they do not have that to save the team. Virender Sehwag is the only player who had a similar strike rate like the players mentioned above in the one day format and still made huge scores in test matches.
4031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: August 06, 2019, 01:24:51 AM
After Amir, it seems like Wahab Riaz is retiring from Test cricket format as well:
Wahab Riaz to announce retirement from Test cricket: Reports
Both of these players will be available for the shorter format of the game, it is hard to be a fast bowler in the pitches they play especially in UAE which always aide the spinners and not the faster bowlers and fitness is a major issue and with many cricket leagues around the world they can prolong their career too if they retire from test cricket and reduce the work load.

I think it's good that Pakistani senior cricketers know that they need to retire and give the chance to the junior players.  Previously we had this bad habit that the players never announce retirement and the cricket board had to forcefully retire them.  Tongue
Hope you will identify the major difference, now we have T20 cricket and there are many leagues around the globe that pays really good money to the players and the older generation did not have that luxury and they need to play international cricket to make the maxing amount of money for their career after cricket, but now things have changed drastically after T20 is introduced and the players have more opportunity to make money.
4032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs Fury 2: The Rematch on: August 06, 2019, 12:01:32 AM
Even without the personal life issue of  Tyson, Wilder still has the upper chance to beat Tyson because Wilder is totally in shape these days which is the reason why he beat Dominic Breazeale on KO a couple of seconds during the first round.
If you take boxing technique and skills Tyson Fury is far better than a brawler and a heavy puncher like Deontay Wilder but the most amazing thing about Wilder is that he just weighs around 205 pounds and that is crazy that he is fighting as a heavyweight and the amount of power he has in that frame to knock out a very heavy boxer is incredible, both have their own skill sets and i would love to see the rematch. Tyson Fury does not bother about physical fitness all the time but his boxing skills are incredible and the most interesting part is the power versus technique displayed by both these fighters.
4033  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Could Surpass $15,000 This Week: Max Keiser on: August 05, 2019, 06:29:04 PM
Early Bitcoin investor Max Keiser tweeted today that he foresees Bitcoin price smashing through the $15,000 mark sometime this week amid troubles with centralized government and banking.
Anyone could predict anything and come up with a valuation but i do not see any substance here to substantiate his claims, he is forecasting something that is coming in the future, the centralized government and the banking is not a new issue and it will be there is the future too, the trade war between China is the main reason that is being said and the Brexit is another reason that is being said, but i am not sure how he can predict that the price would cross $15k this week  Roll Eyes.

* Urging the government to give better wages and opening more jobs for them
I am not sure from which country you are coming since the world leaders in production of Mica are India, China, Belgium and Brazil, if you are from India or Brazil you can make changes in the government during the election period if the elected government is not taking care of them. Belgium does not have a situation like that but in China i am not sure how you are going to make changes to a communist government.

*Making sure to not use products containing Mica or at least making sure that they are cruelty free .
It is impossible to know whether the Mica produced are coming from good manufacturers or not and if you plan to abort the use of Mica you are willingly planning to torture poor people who are making a living working hard to have food on their table  Tongue.

*Throwing these bribe taking officials in Jail
If that was so easy then your country would have being so prosperous by now Tongue .

*Maybe we could help those poor families not by giving money but by telling them about how they can teach their kids for free in government schools and encouraging them.
Education is the most important thing in the world and if the government is not helping in carving a good future generation, then it will be hard to sustain in a competitive world. The future of any country is their younger generation.

4036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 05, 2019, 12:31:50 PM
I still felt 300-350 was a good score to defend as they know that England don't even have enough time as mostly they bowl 80-90 overs and they have chances of picking up wickets too so 398 is far from achieving in one day when Australia themselves took 1.5 days to get those runs.
The main reason Australia took a safe route is that they have Jason Roy in the team who will score at a high pace and if he gets going any score is reachable and with Joe Root, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes in the team if the total looks approachable they might go for the win and Australia cannot risk that, so is the main reason they delayed the declaration. Lyon is getting good purchase from the wicket and it is interesting to see how England will survive the next few sessions.

I think you meant Australia. Anyway
I meant England as i wanted to see their approach on reaching that total on the final day, teams who like to dare will go for the win as they have some explosive batsmen and if they loose wickets then they will defend till evening Grin.
4037  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin After The FED Cuts Interest Rate! on: August 05, 2019, 07:55:34 AM
Bitcoin Is The Best Performing Major Asset In the world. If you look at the 6 months return, 1 year, 3 year, 5 year or 10 year return.
Bitcoin 6 month return is missing on the picture, currently  202%. There is no better major asset in the world right now!
The reason why every government around the world is trying to come up with rules and regulation in the bitcoin market is simply because it is the highest performing asset out there in the past few years and with the rally bitcoin had in 2017 there is no way any government could turn a blind eye to the emerging market and they want to have a pie of the profit or try to control the market as much as they can have a partial control over the money flowing out of the country if they come up with regulations. Bitcoin will continue to outperform every other asset class in the coming years as well and we will see institutional investments coming into the market as well.
4038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 05, 2019, 06:17:56 AM

Looks like they want to got for 400+. Either Aus will win or it will be a draw as no chance that England will manage to chase 400 runs tomorrow even if 90 overs are bowled. Sad when teams are so ambitious.
Australia did not want to take any risk and Steven Smith is back in prime form which is a promising sign for Australia and they know they do not have the bowling pedigree to declare earlier and put England under pressure, this match will be a draw until the pitch starts behaving oddly on the final day, the first 2 hours on the final day will determine how the match will go as England will look to defend as scoring 398 runs is an impossible task.
4039  Economy / Economics / Re: How many months left until recession? on: August 04, 2019, 08:52:09 PM
I don't think those economies will collapse. There will be some recession but not a collapse. Safe haven currency and treasuries will be the best things to store your money in, I believe.
There is nothing wrong in having a belief but we have seen global recession in the past and how the so called save heavens collapsed in the past, so you cannot completely neglect the fact that even the strongest economies right now could collapse, if you take the US economy the debt is increasing at an alarming rate, so basically there is no safe heaven and safe bonds that we could trust entirely, but one thing you cannot predict is the exact time about a recession and if predicting that is so easy, people would have taken precautions in the past and we all know what happened.
4040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 04, 2019, 04:47:34 PM
Pant gone for 4. Damn! Now Kohli also gone.... :=(
I have not seen Pant perform in some time and everyone was calling for Dhoni to retire so that someone could take his place  Tongue, no one can replace Dhoni.
India has taken 2 wickets now and Bhuvneshwar Kumar taken the wicket of Lewis even today by Knuckle ball. Indian middle order is struggling to score runs and if the top order fails India will struggle to put runs on the board.

This was a shit idea to start with Narine provided that Indian bowling attack is one of the good right now. Good news is that Lewis got out, who had 2 century out of 5 matches (now). WI needs to have a big partnership now. They are very poor at this though.
Narine usually gives a good start and if he could provide a quick start then it is a win situation for the team and he has performed well for domestic leagues around the globe as an opener. West Indies is not playing with their best team as some of the players are playing for other leagues rather than playing for their national team.
