4021  Other / Meta / Re: 10 BASIC INFO. ABOUT MERIT on: January 28, 2018, 07:07:37 AM
Is everyone and their dog going to make new merit threads hoping to get merit?   Undecided
Agreed it is actually confusing me a lot more as a lot of members have different understanding to what Merit System like other people say that Non-Merit Sources don't refill there sMerits like what SM23031997 has said:
Q: The sMerit we have at the beginning won't regenerate after it is over?
A: Yes, that is your free pack of sMerit, use them wisely.
While zentdex is saying that it will refill monthly. But we really need to give him credit as he actually spend some time to create an infographic explaining some important facts about the merit system. And isn't it the point of the Merit System pushing members to create high quality post that are informative and helpful to other members?
4022  Economy / Economics / Re: Can you start from zero cash and make a living with the opportunities in crypto? on: January 28, 2018, 04:10:54 AM
Is not my case, I do have some savings so I didn´t start from absolutely nothing, but I had not much to start with. I am having a decent go at cryptos and I think it may be possible to make a living... What could be a good strategy?

You can't start from absolutely nothing, you need something to start any business and in this case you have little capital, no problem crypto is best for you, to start it with a little capital and start to earn from it. I give you example of myself, when i started with crypto then i also did little investment because in that time i have only little money to start it, and i got good result. However i will advice you buy coins or bitcoin with your little saving and hold it for a year then you will get good profit form it and it is good strategy.
I don't think that is the case for every person since I myself started from nothing.  And from what I mean nothing I have started from earning Bitcoin through claiming Faucets and later on to joining signature campaignswhich does not require any form of investment. So you can see what kind of revolution Bitcoin has did for people looking for earning opportunities online as Bitcoin can give many kinds of way with or without investments.
4023  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-27] Bitcoin SNUBBED after value plunge as Starbucks announces plans ... on: January 27, 2018, 05:26:51 PM
Well that is a major hit on Bitcoin but I think what Starbucks is doing is looking for a long term goal as there are really better cryptocurrencies out there as a payment method of course. We might be losing the dream of seeing Bitcoin as a payment alternative but it is still there as our investment vehicle. Also it has not yet decided and businesses like these might change their mind about Bitcoin and accept it in the future, the thing that is blocking it from happening is of course the speed of the transaction as well as the network fees which is better on other cryptocurrencies such as Ripple.
4024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Freedom for ICOs?!?! on: January 27, 2018, 04:32:19 PM
You cannot blame the people as you can barely separate what is legit from a scam as all of them will show the same features from a good website design to some start up events in which they show themselves to the public making them trust you even more. Investing in ICOs are really a risk except if you are putting your money to well known people and also legit projects. But there is still a shed of light for any upcoming ICOs as the cryptocurrency market is still growing many people might be interested in investing some of their money to ICO. But before they must dive into it they must know that researching and gathering data is one of the ways on how to avoid bad or fake ICOs.
4025  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-24] Bitcoin Trader Made Millions Trading on Margin, Then Lost It All on: January 25, 2018, 06:12:53 AM
That is what's bad about Bitcoin trading as the volatility is too big few good trades would make you think that you are a trading genius but that is when you will get careless as a few mistakes will lead you to cutting losses. Mainly people who are trading by the margins usually gets the correct trade but what if that margin broke? Then you are left without any other alternative plans. That is why technical analysis is still your weapon for confirming your predictions or it can really serve as a basis for your predictions.
4026  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this sideways price action killing you like it is me? on: January 25, 2018, 05:00:44 AM
I've been watching the price hover around $11k for what seems like an eternity... I'm sure we're all wondering is it going to boom soon or go further bearish? Well I've been researching and once this CME futures contract expires on Jan. 26, 2018 we will see some price action for sure mark my words, what's your opinion will it boom up to around $20k or shoot down to around $8k? I'm bullish, Bitcoin to the moon! At least until it busts, we shall see.
Agreed this kind of trend is really killing me but not because of lack of profit but how the market will react after the consolidation ends as it can either go up or down from what I am seeing. Additionally there is a buzz lately about the Futures closing in January 26 which they recalled that the clousur of CBOE futures on January 15 made a 34.5% decline of BTC's price. But that is not the only catalyst as the networks fees of BTC are getting cheaper as well as the number of nodes and channels in the Lightning Network are increasing so it can really go up or down at the end of this conso.
4027  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ethereum and Ripple on: January 25, 2018, 03:54:38 AM
Based on my observations it is hard for Ethereum to stay in the 2nd spot as Ripple has previously took the 2nd spot during the December price rally. Ripple has the volume and the price action to maintain the 2nd spot. From what I remember when XRP is priced at 2.5$ it already has overtaken Ethereum. But still it depends as other cryptos are promising as well like IOTA and NEM  we can't say that Ripple and Ethereum will be the only one battling for the 2nd or maybe the 1st spot.
4028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: you have profit in all airdrop? on: January 24, 2018, 03:47:48 PM
I think some Altcoins that come from airdrops have no value is because the way it has been obtained by the user. Giving away your cryptocurrency for just participating is one of the common indicators that you are willing to give away freely your project. While other successful Altcoins out there only gives their coin as a payment for their bounty campaign which is really good for people who are really participating for it. But there is no harm on trying to join all of them as it is free money if you hit the right one.
4029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we ever see 20k+ again? on: January 24, 2018, 02:54:10 PM
I think its very posibble to happen, now that its only 1st month of the year and too early to become hopeless.  I bet before the year 2018 overs, The price of bitcoin will smoothly reach the $20K before the year ends.
Indeed, be optimistic bitcoin will touch 20,000$ again or even more before this year 2018 end. Bitcoin was so fluctuative hence, it is not possible for it to happen. Yet, day by day cryptocommunity is become larger and this means that the demand will rise same on its value. Always remember that don't panic and be wise on our decision because it might lead to our loss plus, have a trust on it.
Yes and based on my analysis our target is now higher than 20,000$ which is 25,000$ as even though we just touched the 20,000$ marked it is now serving as out all time high. Right now we are going through a major volatility in which we are seeing Bitcoin's price go up from 12,000$ and go down to 9900$ which is really annoying at times as we the traders are playing with it for profit. Now the next question is of course when. But I don't have an exact answer for that as we are not yet at the end of this major wave.
4030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The real reason why the crypto market is crashing on: January 24, 2018, 09:32:47 AM
I don't think so and I don't even believe that you are a Korean. From what I know the Cryptocurrency market of South Korea is separeted from any foreign exchange which means they won't be affecting the prices of the international market. The misinformation given to us cause a massive FUD which acted as a catalyst for players to start ramming the prices down. It is really not the Koreans fault as they have been used as well.
4031  Other / Archival / Re: I could be millonaire now (BUT NOT) on: January 24, 2018, 05:19:02 AM
I bought lots of bitcoins when BTC was at 2K$/BTC...
If I didn't spend most of them I could now be RICH! (or even millonaire)

Don't act like me and try to keep the invests as long as possible, I could have earned LOTS of $ but I earned about 500$ instead.
I can't be angry with myself as I didn't lose anything, but I didn't earn as much as I could have earned.

You do realise if no one was spending and everyone was sitting on their coins, bitcoin would be worth zero and only few guys would know about it? If not for you (and others) who were actively using bitcoins, it wouldn't get to where it is right now.

And if you've spent most of it, then it clearly wasn't a long term investment for you. So it's just another case of "would've, should've, could've". There isn't a single person who didn't miss out on great opportunities to get filthy rich. Whenever you bring a subject of Bitcoin in public, there's always at least 1 guy with "Maaan, I was so close to buying bitcoins in 2010 but I didn't, I would be billionaire today" story.

Don't beat yourself up over this, life goes on.
I don't think so if many people are holding there Bitcoin then the process of increasing the price of it is happening as no one is budging to sell there Bitcoin at that price level. But everytime there is a price increase you know that someone will be willing to take the offer when the price is right. That is how trading works if the supply is being hold by the owners of the crypto eventually many buyers don't have any choice but to increase there offer to make it more attractive to the sellers.
4032  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ICO investment Risk on: January 23, 2018, 05:33:57 PM
Yes there are risk involve and it is ranging from you losing your money from price depreciation to its own developers turning out to be a scam. ICOs are a great opportunity to buy something at its cheapest price but the problem is how easily can a person or a group of persons develop their own ICOs sometimes these people really don't have the intent of running the ICO as they end up pumping and dumping their own project. The only thing you can do to protect your money is to do your own research as well as be updated with the latest developments.
4033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin’s Value Due to Social Status it Brings? on: January 23, 2018, 03:43:49 PM
Maybe not because a lot of people still laugh at people who are buying Bitcoin and basing it from my personal experience they hide it to people who are not open to cryptocurrencies. Even me I get laughed at and judge by people who think that I am out of my mind buying Bitcoin.  Yes we cannot deny the fact that Bitcoin's price is brought up to the recent demand for it and also the growth of the cryptocurrency market. The market is still growing and we can see that the price of Bitcoin is not due to Social Status.
4034  Other / Off-topic / Re: world without bitcoins......!!!1 on: January 23, 2018, 09:01:39 AM
I can see two possibilities of how the government can lift the ban on Bitcoin. One is that country's government will change their personal views about Bitcoin through other country's use of it. If they see that other countries are benefiting from the implementation of Bitcoin lifting the ban will be possible. Another way is of course a legal intervention if their citizens file a case in the court that what they are doing is unconstitutional then they have a fighting chance of using Bitcoin legally again.
4035  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin To Drop As Low As $1000 This Year on: January 23, 2018, 05:07:28 AM
It is really hard to say that its not possible as majority also previously predicted that Bitcoin won't go down to 10,000$ because there is a psychological barrier protecting it which happened to be not true as it go down so hard. Another thing to point out too is that his comment showed no evidence or supporting facts to its claim unlike Warren Buffet who gave out reason why he thinks that Bitcoin is not good to invest on. Looking at its price charts Bitcoin will go down but not to that level.
4036  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-22] - Massive Bitcoin Tax Loophole Could Drain The HMRC on: January 23, 2018, 04:01:23 AM
Never thought of it that way. Even something lile HMRC consider Crypto Trading earnings as gambling winnings is a bad idea as people can get away of not paying there taxes. Nevertheless if this pushes through the court I think this will fade as the court will see that it will be counted as capital gains as it is similar to normal trading of stocks. This is really not an issue anymore what they need to face right now is people who are evading there taxes because of their crypto.
4037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Trading Gambling? on: January 22, 2018, 03:37:56 PM
From the word i'is known that trading is different from gambling. Trading is analysis based. While gambling is only a mere profit.
How could you say that gambling is a mere profit when you can lose everything? It's not always profiting because you could lose a lot of money. Trading definitely requires analysis but gambling could be analyzed as well with different strategies.

Probably it will depend on how you see gambling. Gambling can also define a trade since the end result isn't entirely on your hands. Yes you need to have the tools to have a better chance but at the end of the day, you're still not certain of a good profitable trade, hence its still in a way, a gamble. Unless you're a whale with enough btc to sway the movement of coins.
Yes you can say that because I don't think majority of the people are gambling because they want to profit from it some think of gambling as a way of entertainment and winning is what entertains them the most. We can all have different emotions to what gambling and trading is but they all have some key differences. Gambling is always based on luck your analysis don't matter as you can only win or lose in a bet. Also in Trading your basis is of course technical analysis which you have the full control when to profit as you have the decision when to buy and sell.
4038  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-22] S. Korean Crypto Exchange Halts Deposits from Foreigners on: January 22, 2018, 01:16:17 PM
The simple answer is yes as they are earning money as well, not imposing a tax burden for them will show inequality of the protection of their rights. If a stock broker is being taxed normally with it's business cryptocurrency exchange operators should be too. The problem here is the Korean Government is not dealing with Korean Won only which means that having an accurate earning report for them would be hard. They should really have a proper control with their own cryptocurrency trading market.
4039  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price | Healthy pullback on: January 22, 2018, 11:52:54 AM
Nice looking analysis you got there.  But here's the thing, it's only a 'healthy pull back' if the price reverses and trends back up again.  But who's to say that it's going back up again?  What if it goes down a bit more to 8k USD?  Would that be a 'healthy pull back' as well?

No one can really predict the market.  All we can do is follow the price, check the volatility and trade accordingly depending on how large or small our bankrolls are.
That will be called a correction of course and with what Bitcoin is now showing it is signaling that it will head that way. And you are right you cannot predict where it will go but a little help of technical analysis will help you narrow your choices and increase your chances of predicting the price of Bitcoin and where is it headed. With what Bitcoin is having which in its hourly chart it shows many attempts of false breakout meaning if you want to buy Bitcoin now is not the right time to do so.
4040  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the Wall Street fat boys kill Bitcoin profits? on: January 22, 2018, 11:18:25 AM
I don't think so in any market especially in cryptocurrency their will always be whales who are the first movers of the trend. And some of this whales are from the wall street what we can do is to ride the trend they are creating as they are not the only ones who can benefit the price action of something. Yes some might be affected by the price change of Bitcoin but if you know how to trade then you won't be far out of them. Technical Analysis is what they are also doing they are just the ones who are making the move first.
